Frozen: The Movie? Or Me?
So, as promised (threatened?) I really need to talk about
Frozen!! I had been waiting forever for this to come out and for the longest time, I would mention it and nobody would know what I was talking about. (The same is actually true of
Saving Mr Banks as well.) I guess that's what separates the Disneyphiles from the rest of the movie-going world!
Being a snow and cold weather person, I was especially interested in this one, and to be honest.... the trailer itself didn't impress me. I was kind of worried, actually. I'm not sure what the intent was with the trailers, but on its own I would never have sold me on the movie. Someone speculated that it was to draw boys in as well as princess-loving girls, which makes sense.
The storyline, the singing, the twists, the humor, the CREDITS... I am so in love with this movie! Yes, I said the credits. And not just the little after credit scene. The credits themselves!
Gah. So amazing. If you haven't seen it.... GO NOW!!!!
The short before the movie was excellent as well. It ranks right up there next to
Paperman. I said on Facebook that
Frozen is now my second favorite Disney movie behind
Lion King and that it's almost impossible to even compare the two. Which is also how I feel about the comparison I just made with the shorts!
Soooooo... it was a balmy 28º here today. With pretty strong winds, making it seem a lot colder than it actually was. A friend from work participated in a polar bear swim today, and oh boy.... I can't even imagine!
I didn't brave the water, but I did brave the streets for my Holly Jolly 5K

I am SO happy I did this! I feel amazing. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a little part of me that is just slightly anxious that I may wake up tomorrow feeling dizzy with blurry vision. It's completely illogical, because obviously the Color Run didn't cause my problems. But it's the last thing I did before I wound up in the hospital and I just associate the two things. Which, I think I mentioned, is part of the reason WHY I signed up for this in the first place!
I think the hope was for 400 participants... it didn't look like that many to me, but I'm bad at judging such things. It was fun seeing so many people dressed up! We all got Santa hats, and a lot of people took it a step further. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I couldn't feel my fingers

Lots of girls in tutus, which is a pretty popular race theme. In fact, I pinned instructions a couple months back on how to make your own tutu and it is the most pinned item on my Pinterest boards! I have a boatload of delicious, gourmet recipes that I've stumbled upon.... and spools of sparkly tulle gets all the attention. Ha.
This is the participant shirt. Cute, huh???
Now, before I post my time... remember that I don't RUN these races. I walk them. The Color Run wasn't timed... and we made stops every K to get doused in colored powder. So I don't have a time for that. When I walk outside I generally average between 15:45 and 16:10 per mile. (I actually walk faster outside than I do on a treadmill... not sure if that's weird?)
Anyway...
WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SO happy with that time!!! I just wanted to do it. To be able to say that I did it AND had such a great time... I have no words.
Yeah, I'm bragging a little bit. Not because I did anything amazing. I'm pretty sure I wound up being very near the bottom of the race board. Just because I'm really proud of myself for not letting this whole situation drag me down. I get very upset when it's needle time, so I'm not always

. Sometimes I'm very much

or

or
But today I'm

Because I really believe that being bitter and angry and resentful just makes things worse.
Have a happy, happy day everyone!!!!
