In the Game of Thrones, Princesses Always Win

Lasagna Soup now on my list to make...looks so good.

I agree about food choices at Hollywood. We are doing H& V so we can meet Jake and Handy Manny but not super excited about the food...BUT I hear they now have a chocolate fountain which might make it all okay!!

I love 50s PT but I haven't eaten there solo. I'm a snacker!

I have only eaten at Sci Fi once (solo) and it was a complete and utter fiasco. Not only was there a terrible noise at full volume for most of the meal, but when they brought my meal (which was just a turkey sandwich with bacon), it was just a bacon sandwich. A heaping pile of bacon on bread - no turkey. I was so confused by the time I left.

Weird about Le Cellier being a cafeteria!

I'm gonna join your PTR! But it takes me a while to catch up! ;)

I know nothing about GOT, but I have heard that the people who love it- well… they are obsessed! :lmao:

I would love to do a solo trip one day…

Your trip sounds like it is coming together great. How exciting to be heading back for a solo trip. I love traveling solo, just like you I like doing what I want. Although I am no where near the planner you are. :rotfl:

And photopass will be so worth it, I am glad you are splurging! I love having the photos of my solo trip. That is the only thing hard about traveling by yourself is getting photos of yourself :confused3 I've gotten very good at 'selfies' for traveling by myself.

I love AK and am hopping to go to Tusker house too.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you seem to be taking it very well. :goodvibes

Out of all the parks, DHS continues to be a blackhole for me when it comes to dining. I have yet to have find a QS or a TS that I'm in love with at this park so whenever I'm staring at our ADR list for our trips our DHS day is littered with ??? marks or empty slots labeled as TBD. Which basically means like you said: whatever is closest at the time we get hungry.

What I really would like to see is a ToT themed restaurant whether is TS or QS. ;)

At least there are plenty of dessert options. Priorities and all that. Personally, I think they need a Cantina, a la Star Wars!!

khaleesi, here's a thought about 50's PTC. Have you considered eating at the Lounge attatched to 50'sPTC? I have stopped there solo when my guys were doing other things at DHS to get a PB&J milkshake. The person right beside me ordered a full meal. Others followed suit. The bartender said people do that all the time.

That's a really good idea!! I may have to consider that :goodvibes

Mmmm... a friend of mine just bought a chocolate fountain for her New Years Eve party. I thought that was such a cool idea!

My nephew loves Jake.

That sounds... unpleasant. LOL. And I love bacon! But if it's on a sandwich, I would need something else to go along with it.

Yeah, I thought the Le Cellier thing was really interesting!

Welcome aboard!! Take your time... I'll be here til the end of February! Haha.

I am definitely obsessed with GoT. You either love it or you hate it. I can't imagine there being a whole lot of middle ground.

Welcome!!! I'm a planner in general, and I think enjoying the planning aspect makes it at least a little bit easier to handle the long wait!

Thank you! I have my moments! But you gotta play the hand your dealt anyway, so you may as well enjoy the game! Or something like that ;)

Yea! Lets hear it for a Star Wars Cantina at dhs!!!! Hopefully these wishes will come true.

Frozen: The Movie? Or Me?

So, as promised (threatened?) I really need to talk about Frozen!! I had been waiting forever for this to come out and for the longest time, I would mention it and nobody would know what I was talking about. (The same is actually true of Saving Mr Banks as well.) I guess that's what separates the Disneyphiles from the rest of the movie-going world!

Being a snow and cold weather person, I was especially interested in this one, and to be honest.... the trailer itself didn't impress me. I was kind of worried, actually. I'm not sure what the intent was with the trailers, but on its own I would never have sold me on the movie. Someone speculated that it was to draw boys in as well as princess-loving girls, which makes sense.

The storyline, the singing, the twists, the humor, the CREDITS... I am so in love with this movie! Yes, I said the credits. And not just the little after credit scene. The credits themselves!

Gah. So amazing. If you haven't seen it.... GO NOW!!!!

The short before the movie was excellent as well. It ranks right up there next to Paperman. I said on Facebook that Frozen is now my second favorite Disney movie behind Lion King and that it's almost impossible to even compare the two. Which is also how I feel about the comparison I just made with the shorts!

Soooooo... it was a balmy 28º here today. With pretty strong winds, making it seem a lot colder than it actually was. A friend from work participated in a polar bear swim today, and oh boy.... I can't even imagine!

I didn't brave the water, but I did brave the streets for my Holly Jolly 5K :santa: I am SO happy I did this! I feel amazing. I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a little part of me that is just slightly anxious that I may wake up tomorrow feeling dizzy with blurry vision. It's completely illogical, because obviously the Color Run didn't cause my problems. But it's the last thing I did before I wound up in the hospital and I just associate the two things. Which, I think I mentioned, is part of the reason WHY I signed up for this in the first place!

I think the hope was for 400 participants... it didn't look like that many to me, but I'm bad at judging such things. It was fun seeing so many people dressed up! We all got Santa hats, and a lot of people took it a step further. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I couldn't feel my fingers :upsidedow Lots of girls in tutus, which is a pretty popular race theme. In fact, I pinned instructions a couple months back on how to make your own tutu and it is the most pinned item on my Pinterest boards! I have a boatload of delicious, gourmet recipes that I've stumbled upon.... and spools of sparkly tulle gets all the attention. Ha.

This is the participant shirt. Cute, huh???

Now, before I post my time... remember that I don't RUN these races. I walk them. The Color Run wasn't timed... and we made stops every K to get doused in colored powder. So I don't have a time for that. When I walk outside I generally average between 15:45 and 16:10 per mile. (I actually walk faster outside than I do on a treadmill... not sure if that's weird?)

Anyway...

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am SO happy with that time!!! I just wanted to do it. To be able to say that I did it AND had such a great time... I have no words.

Yeah, I'm bragging a little bit. Not because I did anything amazing. I'm pretty sure I wound up being very near the bottom of the race board. Just because I'm really proud of myself for not letting this whole situation drag me down. I get very upset when it's needle time, so I'm not always :yay:. Sometimes I'm very much :( or  or

But today I'm :cheer2: Because I really believe that being bitter and angry and resentful just makes things worse.

Have a happy, happy day everyone!!!!

Frozen was so great! I liked it better than Lion King. I agree the trailer was deceiving and made it look like it was going to be a kid only movie. It wasn't, it's a movie for everyone.

I agree it's a must see movie!

I loved the short too. First Disney short directed by a woman, I had read.

It's in the mid-80's here. A little too hot for JJ, so we stayed indoors today. He slept in til noon, I worked on TR updates.

Congratulations on meeting and surpassing your goal today! That has to be a great feeling. The shirts are nice and festive. You have every right to be proud of yourself. Your disposition and attitude are fantastic.

JJ would agree with you about those needles. He has to go for bloodwork Monday. Last time he did great, but the time before he hyperventilated and had full body tics from the anxiety.

I'm so glad you had a great experience with the 5K. You're an inspiration!

Glad to hear about the race. I can understand why you'd associate the two things, so many kudos to you for overcoming that fear - I'm sure you're stronger now than you were then. :)

Also, what IS it about race tutus? I don't do races but I see so many people in tutus when you see race photos!

It's common to be faster outside than on a treadmill. I am MUCH faster outside than on a treadmill! I do a 5k comfortably at 42 minutes inside on the treadmill, and at 33 minutes outside - that's a big difference!

I agree with you about the Frozen trailer - it doesn't make me want to go see the movie! It's currently #2 on my "need to go see" list, and if I wait much longer it will be demoted to #3... I want to see the new Hunger Games movie, then Saving Mr. Banks, and then Frozen...

I have not seen Frozen yet, but DH and I might go see it tonight! I admit I had no interest in seeing it, the trailers did nothing for me, but the reviews are so good I have to get there.
Congratulations on your run! I'm impressed by anyone who finishes 5k, no matter the speed. I have got to start walking again!

Wouldn't it be AWESOME?!

I'm so glad everyone else is sharing in my enthusiasm!! I didn't know that about the female director... I was so entranced by it being Walt's voice! Very cool!!

That would be too hot for me, too! LOL. I'm hoping for mid 60's (or cooler) when I go.... got my fingers crossed!!

Thank you SO MUCH. :goodvibes And I'm very happy to report that I woke up fine today! Not that I really thought I wouldn't, but but my mind likes to play tricks on me sometimes.

I have to take Valium before the needles. I do yoga, but in that three-minute timeframe where they're trying to find a vein and everything after that, all knowledge of deep, calm, relaxing breathing is lost!

Glad to hear about the race. I can understand why you'd associate the two things, so many kudos to you for overcoming that fear - I'm sure you're stronger now than you were then. :)

I don't know when the tutus became so popular! I like it when something that is whimsical and harmless catches on to the masses. And I'm sure the craft stores do too ;)

Good to know about the treadmill thing. In my head it seems like it should be the other way around, but I know that if I set the treadmill at that 15:25 pace, I would fly off the back of it! And then I'd be on YouTube and we just can't have that :rotfl:

The other thing about the trailer was that it made Olaf seem annoying, and in reality he was anything but. So hopefully you'll love him :) I'll probably wait to see Catching Fire until it pops up at our cheap, second-run theater. I read the first book and was really bothered by it. The movie didn't bother me quite as much as the book did, so I plan on seeing the new movie without reading the book.

Yes, you should GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! popcorn::

Thank you very much!!! Walking is therapeutic for me... especially when I can do it outside. And I had my Christmas music loaded into a playlist so that made it really fun :santa:

Did you see the ssw 2014 thread? One of the last posts, yullinin3 posted a picture from parade taping yesterday. Darth Vader was in Santa's sleigh. Here's hoping there's an important announcement on Christmas Day!

Oh yes! A Cantina as part of a new Star Wars Land would be so awesome! :thumbsup2 I don't know what Disney is waiting for - It's been over a year now! ;)

Frozen was so good! I had the same reservations as you did about the movie trailers. But I kept reminding myself that this is how Tangled was marketed with trailers and I had very low expectations for Tangled going into the theater only to be very pleasantly surprised. And a few days before Frozen's release, I saw this version of the trailer finally with a hint of the musical it really was which really ratcheted my hopes up again. http://youtu.be/d_qR8YR6WeU

So now we're gearing up to line up and meet Anna and Elsa when we go in January. The kids can't wait. I wish they had Olaf for a meet and greet.

Aaaaand, in the past few days I completed my......ahem I mean our kids' collection of Frozen plushies from the Disney Store. I posted some pics of them on my TR!

OH!!! I don't gravitate away from the trip reports very often... I'll have to go check it out! That would be awesome!

Star Wars Land would really make my life perfect. Costly, but perfect :thumbsup2

I'm really glad it was getting good reviews, because I think that probably spurred more people to see it. I was going either way, but I think it's getting some great word-of-mouth promotion. Of course, when my sister took her kids to see it my nephew loved Olaf but declared it a "girl movie" because of the love story. And he's three. *sigh*

I'll be at that M&G in February!! And can't wait to tell Elsa that I live in a frozen land as well! Off to look at your pictures!!

I keep hearing good things about Frozen. I really need to see it. But there is no theatre in my town. :confused3 I will have to see it sometime over my holidays.

Great job on the 5K! Good for you! I think for most runners it's all about personal goals, (except maybe the top 10 runners that are actually racing) and you rocked it!

And can't wait to tell Elsa that I live in a frozen land as well!
When I read that I had a - wait where does she live - moment. I don't think you mention it (or I missed it) But I know you aren't Canadian like me because you use Fahrenheit and spell colour wrong ;)

That literally made me laugh out loud! I live in Buffalo... very very close to Canada, but far enough away to still spell color correctly :rotfl:

Thanks so much for the kind words! :)

Okay, I have caught up… Sorry, I haven't had a lot of time to just sit and do "disney" stuff lately! My own PTR is suffering so!! haha!

Briefly though, I LOVED Frozen and I think it's likely one of the BEST Disney movies ever. Totally an instant "classic" movie.

Yay on your run! I just can't get into that stuff…

Sorry I haven't updated in a while... and I'm very behind on reading everyone's reports.

It's been a rough couple weeks. Long story short, my liver enzymes are still high even after going off the medication for a while. My neurologist's office sent me to my primary because they were concerned I could have hepatitis :scared:

My primary thinks it's still the medication... but I had more blood work done Friday night to rule out everything else. So I'm kind of in limbo, waiting to see what's going on.

Hopefully I'll be back to update FUN STUFF soon. Have a great week, everyone. And Merry Christmas if I'm not around!!

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this medical stuff! Hopefully you can get some answers soon and figure out how to treat this problem. Stay on top of it and make sure you get your answers!

Merry Christmas! I hope that you have a wonderful holiday
