In some creepy news from Florida this week...

:lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl::sad2::scared1::lmao::rotfl:

As much as I'm against involving the families of politicians in debates for/against them, I feel that this picture of his wife and daughter are relevant to the discussion:

humanpig.jpg

She does not look American-born. Good thing she lives in Florida, and not Arizona.

That's only the tip of the iceberg! Fark even has a special icon just for our Florida creepiness.

I have a friend from Chicago who is sure that Florida is trying to outdo Illinois for political corruption.
:rotfl2: That is hysterical!! I was thinking the answer to "are the politicans sane?" is no but I'm thinking my location clouds my thinking on that.

I moved here from Southern California, and I'll just say, being far away from Disneyland is NOT what I like least about this place :rolleyes1

The good news is, I'm going home when I'm done with school :woohoo:

For any of you just joining the thread, here's a brief pictorial update of the topic at hand...

BillyLilly.jpg

This couple would be eligible to adopt a human baby because the Boxer is obviously a male and the goat is a female.

gay-adoption41.jpg

This couple would not be eligible to adopt a baby as they are two financially stable and committed males with impeccable fashion sense.

monkey-with-hat.jpg

This single and jobless monkey with a nicotine addiction would qualify to adopt a human baby so long as he is attracted to any species of female.

GOAT20AND20ACCORDIAN20PIC.jpg

This young interspecies couple would be eligible to adopt a human or kid since the goat is a consenting male under current Florida law.

gay-adoption.jpg

This is what Florida officials fear most. Casually referred to as the nuclear option, this scenario shows a gay, interracial couple with an adopted child. Florida Representatives fear a complete collapse of government and economy if this were ever to become reality. Some even fear that our very peninsula could break off from the mainland, drift away from the continent and sink below the waves.

O My. Where did I just move to and how quickly can I get back to Massachusetts???

(by the way, my Gandhi quote below has been there for years, not just added for this thread!)
I'm in Peabody and there are a couple of houses for rent near me right now - and of course, plenty for sale. How fast can you get back up here.

George Rekers isn't just against adoption for gay families, he also believes that native americans should not be allowed to adopt. The guy is an idiot and needs to crawl back in his closet, lock the door and never come back out again. :sad2:

Wth?! How do people like this come to be?!

Don't panic ..Massachusetts..we moved here from New York....lets be honest....there's strange crap in every state

I don't understand it either. It just scares me that people are so blind, or is it stupid:confused: that they believe everything he says without ever thinking for themselves. :sad2:

People like George Rekers come to be through a highly selective and careful inbreeding process. It takes several successful generations of aryan first cousins mating with each other to produce just one of these hateful creatures. So behold the face of bigotry and hatred that is George Rekers...

Parents...remember this face, and if you have teenage boys stay far, far away from this man.

:rotfl: Parents: please, if your teenage sons are looking for a summer job...DON'T let them take a job carrying luggage, unless the job has been listed by an airport, train, or bus station! If it's a personal ad that offers "free travel to exotic lands; only attractive boys between 16 and 18 need apply", it's too good to be true!

The really creepy thing is that the hatred and bigotry that Florida feels towards gay adoptions seems to supercede their disgust towards people that practice bestiality.

Florida is the only state out of all 50 that has an outright gay adoption ban. They have been fighting and losing this argument in the courts over and over. Yet they keep appealing and wasting our tax dollars.

On bestiality, we are one of 7 states that has no law that criminalizes it. I would guess that over 99% of Floridians would stand behind a law that criminalizes this type of behavior. That would be public dollars well spent.

So, why does Florida feel that people would be upset if they criminalized bestiality, yet continue their losing fight to uphold bigotry towards gays and adoption? We already have one of the most dysfunctional child welfare agencies in the country. Must we continue working at making it worse? Are some Florida officials worried that their activities with goats may come to an end if a law passes that bans bestiality? What is going on and what are these people thinking?

I think I join most of my fellow Illinois residents in saying, "Thank goodness for Florida and Arizona."

A local law school has an Animal Law Center, and they recently sponsored a panel discussion. A similar topic came up. The problem crafting a bestiality law is writing it in such a way so as not to be unconstitutional in light of court cases regarding sodomy and writing the law in such a way as to not impair animal husbandry.

People are stating positions and making comments on political issues.
How is this NOT a political thread?

As far as I know, adoption and bestiality are not political issues. The gay adoption fight is something that is working its way through the courts, not the political parties. Bestiality is just something that is against nature.

Sorry, but if you don't want to read people's opinions on these subjects then read another thread. Nobody is bringing politics into this. There has not been discussion about Republicans or Democrats views on this. We're just discussing the absurdity of it all.

Where did you see ANYONE on this thread mention politics? You are the only one that has brought it up and if it disturbs you so much why are you reading it, let alone posting on it? :sad2:

People are just being humorous and not attacking each other's opinions. The comments (esp Wall-E's pictorial essay :lmao:) have given me the best laugh ever!

Does anyone watch Modern Family? The funniest family on there is Cameron and Mitchell, the gay couple with the adopted child. Now, I know it is only a t.v. sitcom, but they seem like more than capable parents (a little neurotic and over protective maybe). It's a good thing they don't reside in Florida, or else their baby would still be in the state's foster care system. This is exactly the type of family that Florida fears. Why?:confused3

Also, if anyone has seen the movie Deliverance, there is a family in that movie that apparently Florida would be okay with.

You finally said it...this entire thread I was thinking "Deliverance!...Must NOT say anything about "Deliverance"", and restraining myself from posting a link to the scene from that movie which shall be referred to only as "EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" :lmao::rotfl:
