In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

And Nancy--last year we changed in the parking lot and then freshened up in the bathroom in Norway. That worked well, no?

yeah, except that I felt like I had a ton of crap to carry afterwards - I remember getting a bag from one of the gift shops to put my sneakers & fuel belt in. Maybe I could pack a bag in my bag? :confused3

Yes I know I've been lousy over here. But regardless. :goodvibes

:lovestruc

Nancy - Erin's house. Far? If she decides on that.

eh, not too bad. 25-ish minutes probably?

I have a great answer for this but I need to put it offline, okay? Got it all sorted, though! :thumbsup2

Hi guys! I'm jumping in for the shirt talk. I think the shirts are true to size. For example, I bought a XXL last year and it was quite roomy (too big). I might even get 2 this year - both XL and XXL. Ok, off to catch up and chime in on location, location, location.

Oh! Tiaras! We can't forget about tiaras! Jo and Meg--do you have one? Last year I ran the entire 13.1 with a tiara on my head! Others just put theirs on after the race, but I am a Goddess to the core! Ha! :rotfl2:

Ok, one more pop in before I comment on the rest. lol

Jo and Meg - highly recommend tiaras. I'm afraid I will injure myself with a tiara during the race, but our bags will hold them. :) I got a huge one last year, so I am downsizing. You might have already responded, but I haven't made it there yet.

There are so many things that I will never forget about last year's race, but here are a few for you:

1. The comments made by the public and other participants while park touring with our bling and tiaras. Talk about an ego boost! Can you imagine a group of loud women moving through a park in a pack?? Yep, that was us.

2. Nancy & E breaking the rules. :rolleyes1

3. Having strangers cry with us when we said goodbye in front of the castle.

Hi!

So I keep mentioning plans online...stop me if you see that! I SO SO wish I could do this, but instead I will start emailing them. And if you happen to quote anything, I am going to try to edit all plans out. Okay?

Better safe than sorry!

Tshirts are all good, though!

I want to bring u all a bit of.chicago. have any of u ever ha# or heard of
Fannie may candies or frango mints

Fannie May candies rock!!!

I'm in Kindle love.

Getting so excited for the half marathon. :goodvibes

OKW vs SSR. I'd say it would be nice to not have to deal with driving. Especially if we hit a beer stand as soon as they open at 11am. :rolleyes1
And I haven't stayed there before, so I could cross another Disney resort off my list. But really either one is good.

I will need to get a new tiara. D has taken over mine.

I plan on some core later today.

Remember how disappointed we were when 11 rolled around and Norway wouldn't serve alcohol??

And Mary Poppins Pipsqueak -

LESS POINTS! ;)

I so love when Lisa name calls! :lovestruc

Rob - I don't think I introduced myself. I'm Amiee or EE. Nice to see a guy posting along with a few silly women.

E - I channeled you today when I opened my research project grade from my professor. :thumbsup2

Nancy - we love your Amish tendencies! How is Erin holding up? Any change on the trainer stance?

Kat - I avoid O'hare like the plague! Yuck! Glad you are heading home. Drank a beer on your behalf last night. You enjoyed it.

Paula - I hope the politicians and such give you a break. I wish you were able to join us again this year.

Liz - you rock with graphic design. Gotta go check our shirt out... :)

8 miles in the books. It wasn't pretty, but it's done. Just under 90 minutes, which makes sense. I was working for an 11:00 pace and I had to walk about half a mile due to road conditions (not plowed). But the terrain was brutal--it was like doing a trail run because the road surface was so uneven...snow and slush and all of that mess. I hope I didn't tweak anything--trail running uses such different muscles.

I generally love the couch too, if we are staying in the studio alone and not one as part of a 2-bed. In this situation having the two queens would be awesome.

I am still in TX, returning today. Flight is at 5PM, get into RDU at 11:30ish, then I head to Charlotte for the weekend tomorrow.

So, life won't return to normal until Monday, which I thankfully have off!!

And really, I don't care (and of course OKW will save me some points) but SSR has dedicated 2-BRs so there are two queens. Kat--you remember this! Dec. 2008!

LOVE IT. It is really hard to read the back, though (online that is). Do you think the font will be big enough on the shirt to read?

Meg, Jo, Others--if you don't understand all of the inside jokes on the shirt, don't worry--we will explain!

Shirt - I love it!!! You know we are going to get so many people asking us about them. :thumbsup2

Good question. Making it bigger looked wrong in the design. Like very very weird. Like a weird-o. :rotfl2:

But I can tweak if needed.

What about this???

We're so hardcore...We don't run for substandard bling...What does this ride do?

Just throwing this out.

Hey Amiee, nice to meet you.

Alright, so a little bit about me: I'm 31 & married (for 3 years) from Augusta, Georgia. I'm a history major @ Augusta State University and eventually plan to teach high school once all is said and done. I'm considering going all the way to get my doctorate so I can teach college one day.

I go to Disney as often as I can (about once a year) and really want to intern sometime with the Unofficial Guide folks, as I really love and respect the work that they put in.

Two things I'm deciding on right now: whether or not I can pull off a shirt with goddess on the back...lol, and what I actually think about the disboards. I love this forum and would stay here regardless, but the negativity on the main board astounds me.

Finally, understanding that the word "Princess" is in the title, is that particular 1/2 marathon only for women or do some guys run in it as well?

P.S. Any other questions you are interested in knowing, feel free to ask away...and I'm on facebook (shocking I know) under Robert McKinnon, so feel free to look me up.

Detailed enough?

Yes, it would look weird.

EE--love the idea you had for formatting (because we could have DOT DOT DOT everywhere!!!) but that doesn't work either. It is going to be totally perfect as-is! I am ordering mine!

ROB--yes, men run the race! Not a lot, granted, but ALL of the men who run it get major props from all of the women. And it is awesome having you here!

And I hear what you mean about the boards. I have only a few forums on which I post. Do you listen to the podcast? You might really enjoy it. But those forums are really friendly. And I spend time on the DVC boards since I own DVC.

Kat - I avoid O'hare like the plague! Yuck! Glad you are heading home. Drank a beer on your behalf last night. You enjoyed it.

Haha! I had a few myself.

SW, so totally going through Midway. San Antonio airport has free WiFi. Go Texas!!

And really, I don't care (and of course OKW will save me some points) but SSR has dedicated 2-BRs so there are two queens. Kat--you remember this! Dec. 2008!

Yes, they do, but all the OKW 2-beds have 2 queens. Since we are booking like 6 weeks out, wasn't sure if SSR had any dedicated 2-beds left?

OKW is huge huge. Dated as hell but huge and with this many adults, like Lisa said, might be the best plan. Also, fewer cheerleaders maybe?
