In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Mindless eating, check. I also just don't ever seem to get to over-stuffed if that makes sense, or at least it takes a looong while. It's like my "full" button is broken.

Paula, mmm brownie bites. Hope that work turns out to not be as stressful as you are anticipating.

I have started using the calorie counter app for my phone. You can scan barcodes and such and it puts all the info in the right place.

Of course, as always, the biggest hurdle is sticking to the program. I may even face the scale tomorrow.

Brownies YUMMY!!!:)

My race is the 6th, so this weekend I am going to do 4 miles or so
Did I tell you that every time I think of being down town will all those people I feel sick.(nervous):scared1:

Kat, whats it like downtown will that many people. Are you crowded?
We have 15,000 for the 5K that starts first and 15,000 for the 15K
I don't know how many people were at the Rock N Roll 1/2

Rainy, dreary day here. <bleh> Not motivating me one little bit

We have a Thanksgiving Day race here that is 4.7 miles (odd distance, I know) - and there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-17000 runners. It is indeed crowded, especially at the start. With your 15K distance the crowd will tend to thin & spread out as everyone finds their own pace. My best advice to you is, start toward the back of the pack. It may be tempting to try and start up front near the start-line, but you'll end up frustrating the faster runners who are trying to pass around you, and frustrating yourself because you will likely end up feeling like you need to run faster than what your normal pace is. Start in the back, stay relaxed and enjoy the event!

Hi Everyone,

There were 20K plus for the RnR, and 13Kish for the Princess.

I honestly felt like there were fewer people at the RnR, even though there were tons more. The wave start was organized very well and I never felt as crowded as the Princess did.

Also, Chicago lends itself toward wider streets than Disney, I think... maybe that made a difference?

What corral are you in? What does the course look like?

I don't know my corral yet but go to www.hotchocolate15K.com and you can see the race map

Awesome Kelly!!! :woohoo:

Absolutely you can. It will help you get placed in a corral with people who have roughly the same expected finish time as you- so you'll be in with folks whose pacing is similar to yours.

Someone please give me some words of inspiration to get my eating on track this week. I've been eating well all day then at the end of the work day I over indulge in chocolate. Ugh.

Jo- Definitely turn in your time to Disney. I've never run a race where the crowd hasn't thinned out at some point. My last race was a 10k with about 8,000 women running and I always had people running near me but after a few miles the crowds started thinning out.

Kelly- Way to go on the weight loss!

Oh I've got my costume all set for my race on Halloween. I will be wearing this. I have spiders to put in my hair and everything. I picked up my number last night and I'm number 37! A really low number! I'm getting excited!

Off to wake the kids up.

cute Meg  Please tell me you're skipping the boots though :rolleyes1. Which reminds me. Did I ever tell you that I passed a girl who was running the princess 1/2 in Uggs? Seriously. Around mile 11 or 12.

haha I thought about the boots but you know I didn't want to show the other runners up. But the costume actually comes with red shoe covers that I most likely will wear.

Really? I mean sure you can run a race in Uggs but would it be fun or comfortable? Absolutely not.

Thats a HOT costume Meg, You must post a pic.

Running a half in Uggs.. She must have forgotten her running shoes.

Hey, whats the deal with the boots anyway. I hear they are like $100 something and you can't get them wet?? :rotfl2:

Busy day, Alaina had to go to the doc, double ear infection. (again)
and a bad cough.. tomorrow is Alexa's school party and soccer party
Saturday practice 8K run with run club for the 8K in a few weeks. After that I think I am going to DRINK!! I will have one for you Nancy!:lmao:

So I had a little break down after hockey last night, there was actually tears involved. (So rare for me, I'm not a crier...ever really.) Felt bad because my brothers friend drove me. Today I will pull myself together.

Meg, sorry for the meltdown. I have them offen
My job sucks and I come home and just breakdown
I am tring to learn that F it. What ever I have to do for my 8 hours a day, I do and get paid, then forget about ti when I get home.
But its hard.

Its FRIDAY!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Nancy - TGIF indeed!

Meg - Great costume! You must post pictures! Sorry you've been feeling down

Jo - Sorry your little one isn't well - you definitely deserve a drink!

So I had a holiday day today - and spent 9 hours trying to get concert tickets! I did get them though - im nothing if not persistant! :rotfl2: Not really my most productive day, although I am very proud to say that even though I spent all day in the house online I still stuck to my points, no mindless snacking :cool1:

Hope everyone is having a great Friday :cool2:

Hi Goddesses!

I am back. Yes, really. I promise! It was a long hiatus, I know. Coaching soccer killed me. I loved it, but wow, did it own my schedule. We finished the season last Sunday and slowly but surely I am digging myself out from under the crushing amount of stuff that has piled up over the past few months.

I should say the season for MY team is over. Riley's ream is doing well and is in the semi-finals for the state cup tomorrow. And if they win, it is off to the state finals next week-end. Soccer in November! That never happens.

I am still super buys with work and the rest of my life, but again, I am slowly regaining control.

4-mile run today which felt great. Time to start seriously upping those miles, though! I won't go back and read the past several months, but know that I am sorry for not being here and have been thinking about you all.

And now I will post again all the time and you'll be sick of me in a day!

xoxo
