Good MORNING!

Christmas cookie mania at work today. Crappy weather tomorrow. wheee..

Hi Everyone

I feel like Ive had a million things to do this past few days and no time to do them in!

We had our Works Christmas Party on Saturday, it was so much fun! Lots of drink and dancing, good times had by all!

Im at some training for work tomorrow and I have to be up at 5am  I could get up later but (and you will be proud of me for this) Ive told my workmate NOT to pick me up at home, but to pick me up in the centre of town so I can walk there, meaning I get in a bonus 20minute walk! :thumbsup2

Erika - I hope Jeff is ok! That must have hurt! I have a suggestion that DH makes to me all the time - bubble wrap! He once bought me a HUGE roll of bubble wrap as a joke present! :rotfl:
I am of course kidding, I think the same as the others - being outdoorsy would surely mean more injuries.
Too cute about Kelly wanting to be a doctor, I bet she would make a great doctor!

Paula - Excellent on the loss!

LisaV - You edit too fast for me! Hope you are ok

Kat - I would agree that you can get away with bare legs and open toe shoes as well, and I am a big fan of tights and fancy boots to keep warm. Sorry, no new advice just agreeing with everyone else!

Cathie -

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

Hopefully be back later to catch up! :upsidedow

Dawn--cool that Treyner gets a ring, but I thought he didn't end up playing?!?! I am so confused about the soccer drama!

Dawn - I didn't think Treynor was on the team yet he gets a ring. I'm with Erika in the confused group. So don't get the whole college sport thing... :confused3
I am just as confused as you all believe me. I thought he wouldn't get one, Dan said he would, I called Treyner and he said Dan was right and I was wrong. That made Dan's day! :lmao:

From what I have been told, he was still considered part of the team because as a Red Shirt Freshman, he practiced (3 1/2 hours every day), scrimaged, set up the fields, attended games, everything but play within a game. Be suited up and ready to make the commitment to play at a moments notice and lose his Red Shirt elligibility.

The NCAA looks at that as the Red Shirt guys participation on the team is not any less important than a guy who could be a sophmore and did not play anything but bench and 5 minutes of the whole season. So thus the ring.

I guess Zane Wells, the head goalie, in the speech he gave at the celebratory rally, thanked the guys that were the RS goalies because this season menat no goalie coach for them and without the talent and dedication to hard practices and the team, they would not have helped him prepare for a winning season. That showed a real class act IMO and what a great role model for any young athlete in how to be humble and know it is not a one person accomplishment.

Dawn - I want my tree :sad1: I had hoped to get one yesterday, but crap happens, and we ran out of time. wah.
I need to post the pic Baylor took of it before being bundled, on top of the van so you can get the enormity of it. Hilarious!

Cathie - another tragedy? Holy cow. That's just awful.
So very sad.

Oh - and it's official. Christmas is fast approaching. I saw my first "Clapper" commercial of the holiday season today :lmao:

When Baylor was 6, he asked Santa for a parrot, a bunny and the Clapper.

Santa gave him a gift certificate for a fish tank because he was afraid the parrot would fly out of the sleigh and the bunny not handle such a long flight since they are nervous animals and all. :rolleyes1

Treyner just sent a text that they have feet of snow there and school is cancelled for a snow day! He is thrilled! Some things will never change!

You people need to start adding me on facebook lol. Can you look it up by email? If you can, mine is cathie1327@live.com

Good MORNING!

Christmas cookie mania at work today. Crappy weather tomorrow. wheee..

The weather here is just miserable! I swear, the last two weeks were are living in the flippin tundra!!!! 4 degrees right now, not counting the wind chill. We're used to snow in Colorado, but usually it comes and goes in spurts and has around 30 degree weather in between! lol The last two weeks have been non stop. Not fun. Will be even worse carting my big butt around campus tonight. Good news is after today and Thursday I am done for the term! :woohoo:

Feeling on again today! YAY! Holy cow! Almost a week now? Not to admit I haven't had a few slipups but feeling good that I'm sticking with it anyway...breakfast burrito for breakfast again today and for lunch a HUGE salad I made last night chocked full of TONS of stuff. Took me an hour just to cut it all up. With homemade balsamic vinagrette. Yumm

Thanks everyone for the hugs and comforts :grouphug: The hardest part is that this is all happening around the holidays and it's so hard to be in the Christmas spirit around people that you know are hurting. I've always been the "strong" one, breaking down only when no one's around, so I am trying to be there for everyone as much as I can. Yesterday was 2 years since my dad's dad passed away and the 22nd will be six months since my mom's dad passed. So unreal to think how long it's been.

Sorry I've been so crappy lately on responding to everyone's stuff. But I am reading and thinking about you all lately!

Hope everyone has an amazing day with lots of "on-ness" :goodvibes

Time to head indoors. I have resisted the treadmill mightily this fall. I started on the TM last winter. I soon discovered how wonderful running outside is and vowed to stay. After running in the cold last week (windchill in the teens) and feeling the effects for a few days (I never could get warm, legs were tight the entire way) I realized that was dumb. I have a goal to run in Florida in January. Pulling or tearing something in the cold of December in Missouri would be sad and plain dumb. I've faithfully followed the MfM plan without pain. I have been rewarded with confidence that I can finish the half.

So an hour on the TM this morning and I'm good. It was a little slower than outside, but I'm just building miles. Chugga, chugga. Thursday is my next run and the low is supposed to be zero. Saturday will be better at 24. That will get me back outside.

32 days!
Ronda

Great attitude, Ronda! FWIW, my threshold for running outside is 20*. 20 and up and I run outside, 19 and lower, I am usually inside (though wind chill gets factored in as well. 19 and sunny with no wind is a really pleasant run). But since we are coastal, there is often a brutal wind. It's all the threshold for kids' recess at school. 20 and up, they get to out to the playground, otherwise it is indoor recess.

Nancy--we'll need to cookie report!

Kelly--glad to have you in one piece, at least! :rotfl2:

Lyz--I know you are busy planning and packing (since you leave in THREE DAYS!), but come visit for a little while at least!

I'm having a good day, all things considered. I did a little personal duathalon today, running 8 miles and then biking 10. Felt good!

Ok, back to grading. Always grading.

Hey guys! Busy busy busy here. No time to chit chat unfortunatly.

Lisa - What is the exact camera you have? Thinking I need a new camera, asap. All my current pictures are coming out blurry and I did a test and sent a few pictures to be developed at different stores. Same blurry. Your pictures are always so crisp and clear. Thanks.

20*... and I am hiding under the covers somewhere. Granted, we hit 20 maybe 2-4 times a year, and as a low.

Good call on the running inside, Ronda. You definitely don't want to get injured this close to your FL run.

It is one stinkin degree here in Denver....with the windchill somewhere around -15 degrees....

Oh sunny Florida how I miss thee lol

OMG so exciting! :hyper: You are so right. Nothing is worth the risk of injury at this point. You've come w-a-y too far!

Nancy--we'll need to cookie report!

Nothing fancy, but everything in bulk  Toffee bars, Russian teacakes, sugar cookies (to be decorated), chocolate dipped macaroons, choc. chip biscotti (mini, for cookie trays) gingerbread men (and girls!)...that's it for today. Tomorrow I'll wait for the snow to let up (around noon) and go work on things like Jam Thumbprints, Snickerdoodles, peanutbutter blossoms (w/Hershey kisses) and who knows what other evil treats.

Oh - and in case you were wondering....I didn't eat a single cookie. :thumbsup2

So happy for you! You get to go to Disney soon!

Ok - so I must have asked Lisa a dozen times about her camera. Pretty sure it's a Kodak Easyshare. Not sure which one though....

Looking forward to BL finale tonight! :woohoo:

Paula - family dinner tonight? :confused3

I hope I have that resolve when I do my baking this weekend...

Hi Nancy - yes it was family dinner night. The gang had roasted pork tenderloin. I had JC - not quite the same, but I am starting to feel on and don't want to jinx it.

OK - for all you folks with the mega amounts of snow, you can keep it. Definitely don't want it here yet.

All is quiet here. Same old, same old so I won't bore you with those details. Have to admit, feeling very out of the loop since I can only read at night... :confused3 Oh well - just need to get over that I guess.

Off to catch up on e-mails. Talk to you all later...

Loved the BL finale. Both of the winners were who I wanted to win. And WOW, talk about some transformations!

Nancy--my kids are thinking snow day. What about where you are? How much are you expected to get?

Yep. It is indeed a snow day for us :cool1: Now it really IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas :santa:

We're looking at about 6" or so, but it's already started to turn to sleet/freezing rain in many parts of the state. The whole storm is due to wrap up around here just after lunch time.

I'm expecting to take advantage of the slow-paced morning to get some of my Christmas shopping done. I really must get going on that!

SNOW DAY!

I gotta admit, I still love the thrill of a snow day. We're expected to get 8-ish inches, but like Nancy, it is going to switch over to a wet and icy mess at some point.

Time to get on cocoa detail...
