In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

I saw This is it today. The talent. Beyond. I found myself both saddened and irritated that he would play roulette with his life. And lose. And three children are fatherless. Sad. Talent gone and more importantly children left.

I also found it hard to see the dreams of these beautiful and talented dancers - poof - just as they were days from performing all their hard work. But all are so talented so ....

Two are Canadian and one was back working in his father's deli in Toronto when he auditioned. Had almost given up dancing. I hope he continues. They all continue with their dreams. So talented. And picked from hundreds and hundreds it seemed.

Listen to dreamless Lisa sputter. I'm not downing myself - just pointing out I need to haVe some bloody plans and goals myself.

Was in the city today. Agony - I feel so much joy there. Agony. But I needed my own bedroom. Crap. Need to shut the trap. Like now.

Love to all. :lovestruc

Oh and last week - I forgot to say - I was running for the streetcar - pretty quckly and far. And I went to get on and I had my MP3 on and I heard myself say "transfer please". And I stopped in my tracks. NO FLIPPIN' CATCHING OF ANY BREATH. And as Jean says everyone's first breath is a catch back.

What does Erika say? Natch. I don't know. :lmao: Is that it? I don't even know what it means. :lmao::rotfl::lmao:;)

But fabulous realization on the streetcar. Fabuloso!!!

Thanks, Lisa. On all of it. :goodvibes You were right - I found the right place.
And things can turn around anywhere, right?

Election day. It was a big ugh here - awful incumbent - far too socially conservative challenger. Just not a race anyone was pumped about. He won, the challenger. He's against gay marriage, in a socially liberal state, so that says something about how bad the incumbent was. But you know, the new guy is a Bruce fan. I kid you not. I'm sure he'll be fine, and as Nick pointed out, we weren't even close to legalizing gay marriage.

I know we don't talk politics, but my word. Okay, carry on!

Loads of politics today, eh? New York as well? Virginia? Are these Senators - Congress - I know - I sound very confused. :confused3

HUGE election day for Maine as well...all eyes of the country are on Maine today. And the voters have disappointed me. *sigh*

Lisa--Natch stands for "naturally." As in, "of course." Like, Paula rocked her bike race. Natch. :goodvibes It's something I picked up from my mom. I've heard others say it over the years, but it isn't a common slang term.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Hi! Having a great day. Long story short, but I had a *really* tight group of friends from the time I spent at boarding school (which was not for all of HS or anything) but I had lost touch with them. I searched for a few of them on FB a while back, but none of them seemed to be there.

So today I got a friend request from one of them--and low and behold--they are ALL there. And apparently, they have been having a side bet to see who could find me first! Like, this whole group of friends of mine has been looking for me so we could get together. Fun! (Apparently they were looking under my old name, which was just a nickname and they all knew my full name, so??? I don't know.) Nothing like wanting to catch up with old friends and finding out that they have been dying to catch up with you for years!

Thats great! How cool that they had been looking for you all this time! Erm...whats your nickname?! :)

E's nickname. AH, how I LOVE this. Someone ask her. Quick!

Job. OKAY. I'm beat today and it's a rough night ahead, but let me start. BTW ,Lisa, been meaning to say, on the personal growth portion of this thread, that Nick lost that courage and love for me. He lost it. He was my one sure thing no matter what, and now he's not. Plain and simple. That's the other piece of what I'm dealing with. You know some of that, from August, and girls, chime in if you want. Details aren't up for discussion but that concept is.

So, work. I've been there two weeks. Two weeks on last Friday I went in for an interview and stayed three hours and they hired me on the spot. It's a lot of small responsibilities. My title is Office Manager, but I do everything. My boss is an acupuncturist, been one for 27 years, owned this place for 22 years. It's got 7 treatment rooms, nice front waiting area and reception and a private office for my boss, S. She is the preeminent acupuncturist in this area, very well known and regarded, totally Western but extensively trained. So she comes across very well to traditional medicine people. Most clients are the opposite of woo-woo. They are traditionalist who are in need, and she helps them heal.

I've worked for a wellness company, last year, writing and editing for them, so the alternative thing is easy for me. And it's amazing to see people walk in one way and walk out another. Rewarding. We really treat people well - like they're at a spa, when they are essentially coming in for a doctor's visit. I do everything from opening the office in the morning, answering the phone and random questions, booking appts, escorting clients to their room, cleaning the room after they leave, taking payments and sending out insurance info, pulling charts, making confirmation calls. They are over the top thrilled that I'm there, and tell me, and are running all marketing and advertising decisions by me. They really want me, once I'm fully trained to do everything, to be doing that stuff, too. She's an author, a real honest to God one, with a good publisher and books, and they love my background because of that. (That would be book editor and writer, professionally, in case you didn't know.) Actually, she almost didn't call me because my resume was too impressive. But she had a whim and just loved me.

It's 8am or 8:15 to 2pm, from the time I drop off Emily to the time I pick her up. They pretty much let me work those hours, and are hiring an afternoon/evening person around my needs. It's very busy and I learn something every day, and it's perfect money and hours for me, AND it's all very CLEAN. No emotional BS. EVERYONE there is like that - working on themselves and owning it. Gotta love that!

Questions - GO!

1st Question - Whats Erikas nickname? ;)
I have no other questions for you Liz - the job sounds fabulous! And it sounds like you are really rocking it!
With regards to the other stuff you have going on - I think you deal with more cr@p than anyone else I know, I really do, and you know what - thats why I love you! You handle it. And things do have a way of turning themselves around.
Again, this is just my opinion, im basing it on nothing! If I have the wrong end of the stick or you think Im out of line please kick my a$$! :)

Kelly--I know! Those pics totally brighten a day, don't they? Edward eye-candy is always welcome.

It is always welcome - I never seem to find any hot Edward pictures, I rely on this thread for them! :rotfl2:

about died when i saw these. Could not pick one to post..Just pretend Kstew isn't in them. I think RPatz is more edward-y in these.

http://robpattinson.blogspot.com/2009/11/4-more-hb-outtakes.html

Just quoting so when I go on my lunch I can easily find this link ;)

Kelly - that's what I need... a sweets disposer.

Everyone should have one! :lmao:
He had gotten rid of most of the sweets, however I went in the freezer last night and found a few Mars Bars! He said he was saving them for later! Ok then! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great day! Back to work for me :upsidedow

Well then, Kelly, enjoy your lunch break today because you are in for a huge treat!

I'm in a bad mood this morning and hope my run will get me out of it. These election results are just so sad and devastating to a lot of my friends.

Erika - that was a GREAT lunch break! Those pictures are awesome aren't they!

I believe I know the election results you speak of, but as we aren't allowed to speak politics I won't ask if im right ;)
I do think it is a very sad result, so  to you and your friends.

Again, this is just my opinion, im basing it on nothing! If I have the wrong end of the stick or you think Im out of line please kick my a$$! :)

 Kelly, that just made me laugh right out loud.

Erika - you are avoiding the question. ;) And for the record, Maine voters suck. Just sayin'.

Connecticut politics was really quiet this year - no big votes. Next year however, promises to be HUGE, and most likely rather ugly. Campaigning for the 2010 election started last Spring, I kid you not.

BL - I can't say I'm really sad that Tracey got voted off. But just last night I was commenting on how my opinion of her had changed. At first I completely despised her, but then I was entertained by her. She's just a complete whack! I was starting to embrace her crazy  I must say she looked awesome when they showed the "now" video. She was on Jay Leno last night and I wanted to watch but fell asleep.

Headed to work. Evil day today. Brownies, Lemon Bars, Raspberry bars - all for a special order - who knows what else. Stuck a new pack of gum in with my lunch :thumbsup2

 Kelly, that just made me laugh right out loud.

Sometimes I put a disclaimer in because what Im trying to say doesn't always translate well! :rotfl:

Oh yes I almost forgot - what was your nickname again Erika?! :lmao:

Step away from the delicious bars of evilness :thumbsup2

So far behind. Have 2 more pages to go, so I might be commenting on things that have already been taken care of.

How freaking awesome is this!!!!! Yaay for old lost now found friends.

LOVE the details. Have you taken any classes yet? Are you eating less because you are busy?

I pass/meet them ocassionally when biking to work. I've known them for years and want to be like them. It has dawned on me that I am. I am shocked by what I can do. I ran five miles Saturday. I'll run four again Thursday and do a 10k next weekend. I am DOING this. DGF couldn't get me to run to the end of the block last winter.

Awesome!!!! Chills.

Ok. Who said we can't talk politics? Oh yeah, Pete, the owner. Shoot, I don't have a clue what went on in Maine.

We had crazy politics in our little local city. The City Council had red light cameras installed and the people went WILD. They took them to court and had a vote. They were voted down. I couldn't vote as I live in the country not inside city limits. I could get a ticket though. lol. The cameras didn't bother me. I just became trained to check my speed at certain intersections. Oh and I guess Ohio will have casinos now. I'm not happy about that, but ah well, the majority of the people are.

I love to vote.

Well, I went to work and started to feel like my previous comments were a little harsh. Too late to edit, so my apologies to everyone from Maine -everyone, in all situations, should vote their conscience. I don't know all the facts of what that particular vote entailed, just the general jist of things.

While we don't talk politics here, one thing that I must say is that we are, in my mind anyway, a very open, affirming and accepting group. For that I feel very blessed.

btw - I'm having a Kat moment. Feeling like I could gnaw on the leg of my desk right now :upsidedow

I don't think your comments were too harsh, Nancy. And without really talking politics, I will just say why this election was under the microscope for the whole nation.

The issue was legalizing same-sex marriage. Obviously, several states have already had this battle. The reason Maine was different was because our legislature approved this several months ago. But then the voters who were opposed to the new law wanted it repealed, so they used a citizen's initiative to get the question on the ballot. So now it is up the voters to decide as opposed to legislature. The majority voted to repeal the law, so now same-sex marriage is not allowed in Maine. But the reason this is national news is because if the vote had gone the other way--and the majority had decided to legalize same-sex marriage--then we would have been the first state to do so as decided by the public as opposed to the legislature.

Throughout the entire campaign, it was pretty close and everyone knew it was going to be a tight race, but polls had been showing all along that voters would choose to keep the law and allow same-sex marriage. However, we had a HUGE voter turn-out yesterday. Far higher than anyone anticipated. I, and most others it seems, assumed this meant that people were turning out in support of keeping the law. But it turned out to be the opposite. People showed up in order to not allow same-sex marriage.

Hope that explained the issue without being biased toward one side or the other.

Sometimes the devil is in the details. The generic "big picture" may appear very straight forward, but when you get down to the fine print there may be some underlying issues that aren't quite what they may seem on the surface. I guess that's what I mean by my not knowing all the facts in this case.

What I do know to be fact is that I'm stinkin' hungry  I'm determined to stick to my plan though. Dinner is still a good hour away <grrrrr>

Hey everyone

Just checking in. Was so gung ho to be "on"...the short of it is that didn't last long and I went right back to making some not so "on" choices. Hoping to get to my Wii Fit tonight. I really do love that thing. It's just finding a time when I can take over the tv.

I'm beginning to think that I'm not as ready for this weight loss journey as I thought I was. I want to lose the weight, but sometimes it seems like I don't keep the goal in mind, and don't want to do the work. I don't know. I do. And later, I kick myself for not. I want to do it. I'm just not making myself. Need to figure out why.

Anyway. Last midterm last night. It was 3 essay questions with a min. of 3 paragraphs each...I thought it was gonna be easy. Man. Wrote for an hour and 5 minutes...almost ran out of time! (class is an hour and 15 mins) I thought my hand was gonna fall off. But I feel like I did really well on it. I'll find out my scores for that and hopefully my sociology test on Thursday. Anxious.

Working like a mad woman right now. My job, schoolwork, then baking. I love my baking business but get frustrated with the time it takes up sometimes lol. I'm working on a cake right now for the 21st. It's a wedding cake for a medieval themed wedding. It's going to be really pretty. Lots of work. But pretty :)

I hope everyone's having a good week!

Kind of a roller coaster day here.

Election results = felt bad when I woke up
Went for a run = felt great
Lots of tedious work to get through = felt frustrated
Have been trying to get in touch with J since we haven't heard from him in a few days = worried
Had an awesome talk with me long lost bff = felt incredible
Just had a terrible talk with someone who WAS one of my closest friends here = pissed off beyond words. Seriously, I think I just ended a 10 year friendship. At some point I might type out all of the details, but no energy right now. The end of it is that she is calling my kid a liar and her kid as being in the right. And her kid is a known behavioral issue where my kid has never done anything like what he is being accused of. Plus there was a witness who said the incident went down like Riley said, not her kid. But she still says that Riley was in the wrong. It got worse from there...just how she handled the whole situation.

Ok, trying again to get in touch with Jeff.

Hey everybody! I still have no clue what I'm going to do to get jump started. I'm hitting the gym in an hour or so, but haven't decided if I am going to watch my carbs again or not. It is very tough to do. Might do it long enough to get over my sugar cravings.
