In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

E, Kelly- glad you liked the pics!! I'd would guess they were taken over the summer when she was filming the movie where she plays Joan Jett in a biopic. She had black hair for that.

Also found some of RPatz at a press conference in Japan this week.

for some reason I love this one..

And since this is a weight loss/dieting/exercise thread....Drank more water today. Run planned for tomorrow after work. I"m pretty much running/exercising every other day with a long run every 7-9 days depending on my work schedule.

Just had a terrible talk with someone who WAS one of my closest friends here = pissed off beyond words. Seriously, I think I just ended a 10 year friendship. At some point I might type out all of the details, but no energy right now. The end of it is that she is calling my kid a liar and her kid as being in the right. And her kid is a known behavioral issue where my kid has never done anything like what he is being accused of. Plus there was a witness who said the incident went down like Riley said, not her kid. But she still says that Riley was in the wrong. It got worse from there...just how she handled the whole situation.

Ok, trying again to get in touch with Jeff.

Oh, this sounds bad and awkard! And poor Riley, sounds like he's going to have some negative thoughts running thru his head.

Amy - forgot to say - LOVE the RPatz pictures.

I went to the theater today and the midnight showing is sold out. Mad at myself for waiting so long.

Amiee - I'm thinking about trying to low carb it too. Must lose weight. Sick of being sick of myself.

Cathie - I'm sorry you might think you are not ready, but if not, mabye small changes will lead to progress.

Low Carb helps me get over the sugar cravings (low fat / low carb kind). After about 2 weeks, I add whole grains, so then it takes my own twist.

Good Morning...

I am exhausted today... Skipped the gym last night because I was so tired. Getting a cold so that is not helping either. Blah...

OK - sounds like this bunch needs some motivation to get through the blahs and get everyone back on track. Hmmm what to do??? Let me think on this one and see what I can come up with.

In the meantime - hang in there everyone!!! Even one little step in the right direction is forward progress right? All of those little steps count!!!

Talk to you all later....

Remember, remember, the 5th of November.....

I think we do need some motivation, I know I do for certain!

Well tonight is Bonfire Night, but ive decided not to go to a bonfire and eat all the yummy things, Im going to go to my aqua aerobics class instead then watch some fireworks from my garden when I get home! Thats my little step in the right direction for today!

Erika - sounds like you've had some rubbish to deal with! Did you manage to get hold of your hubby?

Hope everyone is having a great day :upsidedow

Motivation is what I need!!!

I have a question for ya'll....I'm a diehard for omelets. I love them. I've been eating them for breakfast alot. eggbeaters, tomatoes, bellpeppers, and mushrooms, and about a quarter cup of cheese....is this a healthy breakfast? I like that it helps me get a good serving of veggies just not sure about the eggs and cheese???

Omlettes can go either way if you are not careful. Eggbeaters are better than whole eggs so that is a start. The cheese is a mine field. In JC land, 1/4 cup of low fat or fat free cheese is considered one protein serving. 1/4 of eggbeaters is a protein serving. If you use real eggs than each egg is a protein and a fat serving and if you use regular cheese, the 1/4 cup is a protein and a fat serving, so...

Omlette made with three eggs and 1/4 cup real cheese = 4 servings of protein and 4 servings of fat

Omlette made with three eggbeaters and lowfat cheese = 4 servings of protein

A traditional JC breakfast = 1 protein, 2 starches, 1 fat and 1 milk
A tradition JC lunch = 2 proteins, 2 starches, 1 veggie and 1 fat

So when I splurge for an omlette at Sunday brunch, I'll get a 2 eggbeater omlette with veggies and cheese and some toast and apply my 3 proteins and my fat (from the cheese and the restaurant cooking process) to the two meals. I still have a milk serving and a fruit available as a snack later (usually yogurt and fruit).

After all of that, I guess what it comes down to is your serving size (how many eggs do you use) and what else are you eating over the day.

Hope that helps...

Paula already answered this so well. As long as you are not using yolks and I would cut that amount of cheese down. 1/4c is a lot. And cook with non-stick cooking spray as opposed to butter or oil. I have eggs most mornings, too, and never add cheese and don't miss it a bit.

Lyz--Riley is handling this incredibly well.

Just got off the phone with Jeff and we talked for 2 hours! He is fine and all is well. He is leading this summit thing in Taipei right now and really hasn't had a minute. And since he is running the show, his laptop is the one that is always being projected up on the screen, so he can't even check his e-mail or else his messages will be on the jumbotron for all to see.

On a devastating note...prayers needed for my friend Joy. She and her husband have 2 sons and she has been pregnant with their daughter. Baby wasn't due for another 4-5 weeks, she went into labor early and the baby was born still yesterday. It is beyond tragic.

Ronda - hope your visit with both parents goes okay. Awesome job on the 5 mile run!
Paula - love the idea of breaking down to 3 days of being on with food. That small chunk I could handle. You should be proud of yourself for looking at yourself to see what has been going well and what has not. You will get all the pieces together sson. I believe in you.

E - sorry about Joy and the baby. A friend of mine had the same thing happen about 8 years ago in what was a normal delivery. It is just so hard and things going wrong are not talked about often once you get to a certain stage in the pregnancy that mentally you don't even consider the small percent might be you or someone you know. I am glad she has you.

Liz - I am sorry. I was not aware about you and Nick - wondered but not positive. You will be in my prayers for many things.

Happy for you that you found your job and it is stress free and busy. Great things for the mind.

Everyone else...:flower3: Love the Halloween Pics!

I would like to report I have gone 2 weeks in a row to water aerobics and this week I added 2 classes.:cool1: Did Salsa Splash on Monday - 1/2 hour after my normal hour class. Way fun and felt like a fool in the water doing what she so easily did on the pool deck. Felt that workout in my obliques though let me tell ya.

Then today was there at 7:15 am for a Boot Camp class. There was only 3 of us and I am telling you I thought I would die. We were doing volleyball jumps, legs in and out farther, stood legs length from the pool and kicked the wall with our foot alternating fast between feet with arms straight up and out. Wore body floats to work the core and had to run in the water on our stomachs, army man craw, cross country ski all without touching the ground and the pool is only 4 feet deep. We kept track of our heart beat and mine was at 160 -170 for the whole time. There was only 3 of us in the class so Sam (instructer) kicked our butts like a personal workout training session.

Then did my regular class and my calves are on fire. Amy (other instructer) was yelling at me for not having a water bottle for a 1:45 minute workout and my normal water consumption being almost non existant lately. So I have my challenge as well cut out for me.

Need to track water and be drinking at least 100 oz. Plus I am stealing Paula's tracking of 3 days a week for food. :thumbsup2

Terri (the girl who lost 60 pounds from this class and now is at 218#) bought that Polar watch/heart monitor tracker. With her weight and data - she had burned 820 calories today from both classes, so me being heavier, should be close to that.

Need to get that watch next week!

I am sore though. Not overly sore - just an ache that tells you I am doing something and it feels awesome.

Had a party here last night with the women from my classes and one mentioned how for her - this class helps because you are part of a group. We are social. Upstairs on the treadmill - everybody has there I-pods in and there is no socialization at all. I was trying to figure out why the switch for me happened and I think that was an awareness I had not considered.

We grunt and heave and complain and cheer each other on and for me - it is great.

I did decide though - that I like Amy in a one one one situation over Sam for a personal trainer. She is driven and I like her fire and passion. Amy talked today with me about starting weights upstairs and how much that will help loose the fat and start definition. I am doing my free consult with her next week and we will see what I can do to have that piece as well.

Dan I think is in shock. He siad he never thought he would actually see me excersize for an hour let alone almost 2. I told him that this was the old me actually - risen from the grave.

I used to love working out in gymnastics and danceline but again - those were group situations and it's not like you graduate from HS and get your girlfriends together to go to the park and tumble or cheer for an hour. High school left and so did my excersize regiment. I have hated it ever since.

I am all caught up - just busy. Work is well and the kids are great and just enjoying living life. Been a long time since I could say that. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Cathie, I make omelettes all the time. I load up on the veggies, use about 1/2 cup of eggbeaters, and 1/4 cup of shredded 2% sharp cheddar. With that, you have about 140 cals in the eggs and cheese and whatever is in the veggies... I would consider that a pretty good breakfast really, filling, veggies, and then the extra "treat" in the cheese.

I have become a believer in adding some treat to my meal, just to keep me interested, and as long as I am not lying to myself about where it falls in my calorie count for the day. I think that the last time I went through this, I cut out too much and then went crazy and put a bunch of weight back on.

My ultimate goal is to get to a place where I eat healthy for 5-6 days a week and have a splurge day/meal a week. I need to lose some weight before getting there, though, so I am planning on a splurge day every 2-3 weeks until I get to my goal.

E, sorry to hear about your friend. I had a co-worker go through that about 10 years back, where the baby died in utero at 7.5 months and they had to induce labor. It was their first child and they were just devastated.

On a devastating note...prayers needed for my friend Joy. She and her husband have 2 sons and she has been pregnant with their daughter. Baby wasn't due for another 4-5 weeks, she went into labor early and the baby was born still yesterday. It is beyond tragic.

Oh my! Horrible news! I'm so very sorry and will remember Joy and her family.

Dawn - was curious as to how the double classes went. Totally thrilled that you are loving them - thrilled. Two hours of aqua classes sounds absolutely exhausting so remember to take it easy and not overdo. We don't want your enthusiasm to get burnt out now do we? Thrilled...

Erika - so sorry to hear about your friends. I can't imagine what they are going through. Too horrible to think about.

Kat - great advice on the treats in your plan! Love me a good treat (especially the peanut butter and chocolate kinds)

Getting a cold and it totally sucks... Must kick it quickly so any home remedies out there that actually work?

Back to work for me. Talk to you later.

E - I have a heavy heart for your friend and her family. So sad!

Paula - Horseradish always helps me with colds. I will mix it spicy mustard and spread it on a sandwich and chase it with some steamy soup. Wasabi helps too.

Kat - How are your new responsibilities going?

Kelly - What did you do to celebrate??

Dawn - I hope you don't try to do too much too quickly.

Lyz - Is your family well again?

Cathie - I eat omelets too. I use egg beaters, any kind of veggie I can think of, and I use sun-dried tomato pesto or a bit of hummus instead of cheese. I use cheese once or twice a week. Some veggies I have used include eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, napa, wilted lettuce (with balsamic vinager), onions, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, etc. Mine end up being more veggies than eggs.

Thanks for the omelette responses guys!

I can definitely do something about the cheese.....but I don't know that I can completely take it out lol. I love cheese. Like Kat, it's one of my "treats". I have a beautiful built in mechanism called not having a gall bladder to break down grease that keeps me from eating TOO much cheese, unless I plan on spending half the day in bed and on the toilet. (TMI? :lmao:)

I'll get the egg whites egg beaters and try that and see if I like it, and come up with a few more veggies to throw in there.

I just love my omelettes...they are such an easy thing to make for someone like me who is so busy throughout the day...I can even cook em in the microwave if I have! Love it!

Hope everyone had a fabulous day. I found out what I got on my sociology midterm....an 80%. Barely a B, but it's much better than my ethics class so I'm SUPER excited for that. Speaking of ethics. Oy. Off to that class now. I'm debating if I just want to let myself fail so I can take it from a better teacher who isn't an @$$ (I rarely curse so you know how mad this man makes me), and actually learn something, or keep trying, throw tons of work into, and risk failing anyway or eeking by with a D. Ugh. Keep me in your prayers over this next hour and fifteen minutes haha!

Have a good night yall
