In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

We have a birthday girl in the house. She's not like me - I would have said, "it's my birthday people!" not "it's a quiet day!!!" :lmao:

Hit it boys!!! Here we go.

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday funny and dearest Nancy!

Happy Birthday to you!!!

Hey Birthday Girl - does this mean we no longer share a number? :rotfl2:.

Hope you're having a fabulous day.

With love:lovestruc

Hey everybody. I am beat. It's been a good week, but I am SO glad it's Friday. Tomorrow I will wake when I wake. No alarm. The cat gets his annual trip to the vet. Aside from that, no obligations. I could get used to this.

I rode to work today and climbed the big hill. I have looked at this hill for nearly a year. I have taken a detour through the park behind our building to reach the garage entrance with out climbing this hill. I don't know how many feet it is. I know during snowstorms we watch as cars slide backwards down this hill. Today the park was already lousy with people running and walking on the path. I HAD to take the hill. And I did. Oh, my legs were howling, but I didn't stop until coasting down the other side. This calls for a banana.

When do we report on goals?

Ronda

I'm feeling a little sluggy tonight. However, I did get to the gym this afternoon at work. It really feels good to be able to bike for a half hour NOT on the lowest resistance setting. I've only bumped it up twice so still technically level 1 on this machine but I still feel proud of myself that it isn't the lowest. No puppy walk tonight. As soon as I finished dinner, we got hit with some horrible thunderstorms. By the time they let up it was too dark. There's always tomorrow.

:rotfl2: Thanks Lisa! No, I don't think we currently share a number. Mine starts with a "4" and ends with...a "3". :scared1: Holy hs!t I'm old now :rotfl2:

old. and drunk. Totally and completely. :thumbsup2

My kids told me that they were getting me a llama for my birthday. :confused3 No llama. <sheesh> BUT. What would YOU get a technologically challenged person who managed to get themselves LOST in a parking garage? (yes, it's true. Didn't think I would ever find my way out). Yep. GPS for me :rotfl2: OMG. Should be interesting!

Nancy -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Enjoy your special day and don't forget to stretch this out as long as you can. Its time for the birthday buffer...

Spent another few hours shopping tonight and still haven't found anything... Getting really frustrated now. I will try again tomorrow.

Off to get some sleep...

Thanks Amiee!

Wicked thunderstorms here right now.

So hoping that they scoot of shore - and not up the coast to Erika! :scared:: Camping is one thing - but camping in this kind of rain :scared1::scared1: Last night we had over 4" in some parts of the state, about 2" where we are.

Oy. Have to work tomorrow (special event at the orchard) so should try to get some sleep.....hope everyone has a fan-tabulous weekend!

Ugh. I have to find something for 2 special events when we take Seth to school. First is a "business attire" recognition dinner on campus ("Business attire"? WTH is that? I wear jeans and t shirt to work!) 2nd is a family reception at the state capitol on Saturday night w/ all the scholarship winners....yikes.

OMG. GPS is talking. freaking me out. Hope somebody is fiddling with it, 'cause if that thing has a mind of it's own, it's going back in the box!!!! :rotfl:

Way to go Ronda. Hills are like cardio heaven (and he!! of course :lmao:). I had this massive one to climb in university to get to my apartment - didn't make any food changes - and the weight just fell off.

Congrats to you. Don't you love the feeling - when it's over I mean. Ie. the feeling of wobbly legs - that keep moving when you've stopped.

Yes a  for you - for sure.

Look Birthday Girl Nancy - Stephanie is trying to get you singing.

There is always tomorrow there Stephanie. :thumbsup2 on your bike bump up.

Not for 10 more months!!!! :lmao: 4-3.

You're not old but I'm happy you're drunk. And spelling swear words. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

Your kids obviously got your funny gene.

An open letter to Becca, Seth and Nate ( hope I didn't rename any of you:laughing:):

Big money to be scored. Big money.

Tape the Birthday Girl setting up her GPS and I'll pay for the evidence. I'll even pay in American funds. :rotfl::surfweb:

Heck others will throw in more dough if you film her actually plugging in a destination without hitting or yelling at it. :rotfl2:

Signed,

Wanting a laugh

Happy - oh so happy - Birthday Ms. 43. By the way - you look fantastic Nancy. :lovestruc

Exciting times for Seth and you guys, eh? Nice.

I am posting on the fly - This soccer torney has us gone from 7 am - 10p.m. and then back for the same in the morning.

Soccer is going well -they are in the semi-finals - beat 2 teams from Canada so far and a few others - tied Sweden.

9 am today Treyner plays then Carsyn plays State at 3p.m. 20 minutes away from Treyner's fields then back to Treyner if they go to finals at 5p.m. I am sun burned and tired but having a good time.

WW will start the 12th of August!

I got this forwarded to me by a friend - if you haven't seen please watch! It is a riot - what a wedding entrance! I promise it will make you want to DANCE!:cool1:

I have all day tom off (thank goodness) so will post more!

Hope you all have a great weekend!:)

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes! :goodvibes

Headed to work now, will give a proper post later today! Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Buckets. That sums up the day here. As in, it's raining buckets. It was so dark out that my kids snoozed until 8:30am (extremely late for them).

Had so much fun at the fair last night. I have a huge spot in my heart for farmers (One of my clients at work is a parts & services card for a major farm & construction company). I saw so many guys going ga ga over the new tractors and combines. Loved it. :rotfl2: We were loved on by a very spoiled diary cow. I love when the kids who show the animals hang around and talk with the public. I think it prepares them for life in so many ways. This girl was a great talker ~ not the slightest bit concerned about public speaking. And it was pretty clear that this cow adored  her kid. I'm a big believer that animals pick who they love and this cow is clearly bonded with the girl.

First!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANCY!!!!! A llama, I love it. And you know, I can see you with a llama. Moreso than a G.P.S.!!!!! (oh and I'm happy you had a birthday, just for the fact I like watching Lisa go "and a 1 and a 2...:rotfl:)

I've been held hostage by Edward, in fanfic, I know a few of you understand. That's all I ask.

:lmao:So tell them this IS your business attire.

Congrats to you. Don't you love the feeling - when it's over I mean. Ie. the feeling of wobbly legs - that keep moving when you've stopped.

YES!!!! I do love this. Go Rhonda.

:lovestruc I love this too. Getting very excited for the fairs. 2 weeks away.

Hi guys!

Those on my email list got my new address. Hmmm - why does my first thought go to sending me American chocolate bars? Cause I love chocolate. :lovestruc

Some specifics please? I am a candy bar expert.

that this time feels so much different. And I couldn't quite figure out why....and then it hit me.....I expect myself to mess up. Now, for a perfectionist, that's a hard thing to wrap my head around. It's generally all or nothing for me. But I realized, that this is a hard thing to do, and I CAN NOT be perfect at it, and every little mess up I have, is okay. As long as I don't give up after that mess up. As long as I pick myself back up, and start over the next day, next week, whatever, as long as I tell myself it's okay you'll do better. Now, not to say that I am trying to justify my slip-ups ever, but it's like I finally accepted that I WILL mess up, and there's nothing I can do to change that, but learn from the mess ups, and eventually they will be less and less frequent.

GO Cathie!!!!

We must be an introspective group this weekend since we have been so quiet. Things are starting to look up here and I am finally starting to see the end of my funk. Still feeling somewhat funkish, but getting better.

:woohoo:Good news.

Work wise, things are starting to look up. The big job I have been waiting for is finally here and it looks like we will start working on it in the coming month. That is a huge relief as I will have something of substance to do again. And as if that wasn't big enough news, I finally found a cheap place to park my car. I am going from spending almost $2000/year to park my car to paying only $300/ year to park it. I am so freakin excited that I can't stand it. I found out about that yesterday and when I was telling Jesse the news, I immediately added, that is like your training costs for the foreseeable future. Needless to say he, was happy too.

WOW!!!! and a handbag. Just saying.

So, tell me, how did you get a parking space for $1,700 less? Hmmmm?

OK - back to work. Need to wrap up a few things before I begin the quest to find a dress for the track. BTW - when did I become a size 20? Been trying on dresses in that size and am still in a total state of disbelief that they not only fit, but look good on me. That totally snuck up on me. Don't get me wrong, I am totally physched about it, but still - whoa!

DOUBLE WOW!!! Paula. Awesome news!

Loved your post. Loved it! The parking - oh the parking. I know. We never bought a parking spot in either condo - so I know that joy!!!! That is so cheap Paula. Let me do a dance for you and in turn Jesse. :dance3: We used to spend as high as $200 a month. Jean and I did this little joke when we moved here - "where you're gonna park? How much? Where you gonna store this or that? How much is maintenance this month?" And then laughter and high fives.

:rotfl: AND!!! You both can use the potty at the same time!!!!! Priceless.

Listen up. I FINALLY!!!!! Made the copies I needed to yesterday. Remember the pile that had been building since January. And mocking me everytime I walked into the office. Took me 4 hours, but that part is done. I still need to file it all. I WILL do it today or Monday.

Hi to all.

Dawn, did you go to the Biltmore?

I will contribute to the cause too....

Hi everyone...

Just back from an awesome workout with Jesse. New exercises were added today and everything. Feeling pretty good about things today. Just need to find something to wear on Wednesday and all will be perfect with the world. I am heading out for shopping trip number 2003 after I clean up from my sweat fest at the gym.

Lyz - I hear you on the new purse thing. May have to splurge on one of those in another month or so. The parking savings is coming from the fact that I just found out that as a consultant to the State, I am eligible to park in one of their lots and take a shuttle bus into the Capitol. So basically, I am no longer paying a private company. Ka-ching is all I can say... Oh and glad you finally finished your copying. My to be filed pile is rearing its ugly head again... so not looking forward to that.

Ronda - awesome job on conquering the hill!!! What a great sense of accomplishment.

Nancy - birthday buffer... work it.

Amiee - Glad you had fun at the fair. Not sure if I am going to make it to one of those this year or not, but I am going to try. I love watching the animals.

Dawn - have fun at the soccer tourny

Hi to everyone else... wish I could write more, but am pressed for time. Need to get the shopping thing done so I can get ready for the Green Day concert tonight. Very excited about this as I love me some Green Day!!!

Catch you all later,
Paula

Hi! Back and haven't read a thing. Hope everyone had a great week-end. Post challenge results if you haven't and I will update the chart.

Camping was a mixed bag. Kids had an amazing time, but the weather was horrible for half the time. I was "on duty" a lot due to the BIBLICAL rain. It made the river really fast, including a set of Class 4 rapids. It was fun to be able to use my skills--total adrenaline rush. But the responsibility was stressful.

Now I have tons of work to do since I was offline for nearly 4 days!

Lyz - yes we did Blitmore! It was amazing and when I finish day 3 and beyond in my June Florida trip report...pis and a full thought proccess will be instore! You were dead on about the headsets!

Soccer tourney done...and they WON!!!!

The USA CUP is really a marathon and not a tournament...Treyner played 7 games (90 minutes each) in 5 days. He is spent but thrilled. To win they played a true U19 team (all kids 19 that have played one year of soccer in college - some young for their grade have played 2) so for these recent seniors and juniors - what a thrill. 4 of the 7 games were with international teams.

Carsyn won her game and so we are back for more Tuesday night - then Thursday if they win again and then Friday head out.

I am sorry I have been MIA but with all the last minute dentist/eye dr/vacinations, paperwork etc., it has been time consuming. If we have not been at fields, we have been gone this summer it seems.

Anyway - sounds like most of you are busy this summer as well. I feel like I can finally rest this week a bit before being gone again. In September I will be saying - where did the summer go?:confused3

Catch you all tom!
