In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

:lmao:

:lovestruc Cutie is so funny, isn't she?

Okay, you'll love this one Lyz (and the others who are quietly curious - unlike us two curiousity cousins:lovestruc).....

So I'm trying to find temporary housing. We are considering this suburban - God I can hardly type that word (suburban), Howard Johnson's near Jean's work since mine is all over. Some have given it one star on trip adivisor. :lmao::rotfl: And spoken of creatures in the bed. Still looking for one/two month options. Still looking.

We went to put an offer on something permanent to buy that was one day on the market - we didn't because they already had multiple offers and our agent's client didn't even get it and he put in thousands over asking. What fun!!:lmao:

Closing went fine. Lawyers and all. Thank God.

We moved ourselves - things to a storage unit and Jean's bros - and I am exhausted beyond exhausted. I said I would never move myself again and here I am. I don't how you guys do it. I have such few wordly possessions. I can't imagine what it is like for people who actually have space.

I hung on with all my might to the unit. It was mine every single day until we moved. I even worked out upstairs the day of closing. :lmao::rotfl:

And took a dip in the hot tub, which I keep forgetting we have, the day prior.

Both the hot tub and the gym are on the roof. I took pictures for you all but since I have no God da@@ clue where a thing is - I'll pull them out a year from now.

Emotionally - I don't have space to even think. So in a way that's good.

:lovestruc to all. I did catch up yesterday but I simply can't keep a thought in my head right now.

Some of my thoughts -

Kat - I really adore the hair. Really.

Liz - Sorry to hear about Jodi. Sighing. Good thoughts.

Kelly - Loving the hubby. And now more than his looks. :lmao:;)

Okay :lovestruc to all.

Oh Lisa PR - Where do I find your race pics? Thanks, I'm slow.

Hugs LisaV. It sounds like you are doing all that you can do right now. Hanging in there and surviving.

Good Monday morning, everyone.

I've been in a bit of a funk - hate it. Just so frustrating. After a weeks vacation, then a week of bad eating & drinking habits, I just feel like crap.

So - today I'm recomitted. Starting fresh, journalling and working the plan. :thumbsup2

We still have not gotten the test results back on our "probable" case of swine flu. My kids aren't personally affected. Just one elementary school is still closed (since Thursday). The results were initially expected to be back late Friday. :sad2: Guess that just shows how many people are being tested - they are SO far behind.

Going to get out for a bike ride this morning - I think the rain is going to hold off here for a bit. But our whole week is looking iffy.

Hope everyone has a great Monday! :goodvibes

Just heard from Liz.

Jodi went into labor about an hour and a half ago and now has a baby girl! Genevieve. Not yet 25 weeks. Prayers needed, but so far, so good. Baby will be in NICU for months.

The precious little girl.... Sending prayers out to baby Genevieve and to Jodi and Greg. The next few months are going to be long, but this baby is a fighter.

Good Morning Ladies!

Paula, Amiee, Lisa/pr, Lyz~:wave::wave::wave:

I am trying to drink more water:drinking: I drank 40 oz. yesterday. I also peed a lot!
Ok off to do laundry before I have to go to work for 1100.:scared1:

More info...

Liz was able to in the room for the delivery! (Considering such a high risk issue, I am so surprised at this, but it is wonderful that she could be there.)

New stats...Genevieve is 1.6 ozs and 12 inches. Lots and lots of growing to do yet. She seemed to be moving around a lot at birth, so that was a good sign. She was trying to breathe on her own, which was also a good sign.

Jodi is having a D and C right now as she was not able to deliver the placenta.

More info as it becomes available.

Lots of prayers heading out. So tiny! NICU teams are awesome. Truly gifted. Beautiful name. I hope Greg and Jodi are doing ok considering the situation.

How did Liz sound E? Worried about her too.

Liz - we are thinking of Jodi and her family and praying that there will be steady growth for that baby. What a beautiful name! :grouphug:

E - I understand the dust and the mess! :worship:

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

Nancy - I was going to post this today because it was such a powerfull quote for me. I have not ever been commited...simply interested...in losing weight. Pieces of me at different levels but nothing to the point I was willing to change my lifestyle for if I am honest with myself.

I am tracking again today as well. Haven't since the house remodel started in the kitchen. Not good!

I will post tonight after church. Maybe this can help other too. You are so much more commited than I am to yourself and I see you as one of my inspirations to a better me. Wanna post your food too? It was a huge help and motivation for me. I would love to see your food intake to get new ideas on great food choices if it something you want.

Back from my bike ride and there's a new baby! Welcome to the world Genevieve! Lots of prayers for the whole family

Paula - I was thinking about you today while I was biking. "Must have's" for me: padded shorts (don't recall if you said you got those), sunglasses (not just for sun - but wind, bugs & general road debris) a little pouch (think bike purse ) for cell phone, a bit of cash & i.d. and my personal favorite accessory - my mirror. I have a little mirror that goes on the end of my handle bars so I can see what is coming up behind me.

I had to pee while we were out riding. OMG there was no way I could wait. We were out in the middle of no where, so I ditched it into the woods :rolleyes1 Not that I was truly "hidden" - the leaves aren't really out here yet, and I was dressed in a highliter yellow jacket. Oh well.

Dawn-liked that interested vs. committed. I'm usually very committed. But last week was just horrid for me. Nothing bad, nothing really earth-shattering just day-to-day life crap that has me feeling overwhelmed. Something had to give, and it was my food.

I ate things that I don't normally eat, especially in rapid succession! Pizza, ham, salmon that was processed/frozen/injected with saline...all kinds of *stuff* that taken individually isn't really horrible, but put all together just causes me to retain water like nobodies business! :scared: I'm feeling bloated and gross, and very fatigued - simply because my eating has been so far off plan. Today, I'm back on track. My journal is out and open. I'm writing in it. :thumbsup2 and yes, I'll let you know at the end of the day how things turned out.

Steph - glad your weekend went well. And extra hours at work? :woohoo: for the $$$. Any word on the other job prospect?

Roddy, Roddy, quite contrary. How does your garden grow? :lmao: That was so lame, I know. But I couldn't help it.

Erika - how's the kids? Riley still put out that he has school and the girls don't? Just think how much smarter he'll be than them

Nancy--you hit it on the head with that question. OMG, he refused to go to school this morning. Flat. out. refused. He had a temper tantrum like I have never seen before. Oh, it is so unfair that the girls just get to say home day after day while POOR HIM has to go to school. And on and on and on.

Now, you all know that I give my kids mental health days from time to time. So he couldn't figure out why I was forcing him to go.

I tried everything. I explained that if he went to school this week, I would allow him to miss next week. (I thought this was pretty smart, eh?) Nothing. Didn't budge. There was no way this kid was going to go to school today.

So in the end, I told him. I didn't want to, but felt like I had no choice. At least it got him to school! Plus, he'll have fun these next few days planning with me. He loves to plan.

The upside of this is that the girls will be totally surprised by this trip. We have 2 different flights...the girls and I are going on Thursday and Jeff and Riley on Friday. So there is no way the girls will think anything is up since the guys aren't with us. Plus, they won't have school. So I can just tell them that we are running some errands, etc. I know I can get us all the way to the airport without them figuring anything is up.

And since Jeff is leaving for Asia right after we get back, I can even manage to do curbside check-in of our luggage. I can just explain that Asia is really far away so we have to send Dad's luggage ahead so that it will get there. They are young enough that they will buy it.

Then we have to park and head into the terminal/gate. This is where it will get tricky. I might be able to say that we have to pick up some important papers for Dad's trip or something like that. Again, they will buy it since J and R won't be there. They won't imagine that we would go without them.

So, I can get us that far...after that, :confused3 If we actually get as far as the gate, it will be awesome. Then I will just have them read the sign where it says Departing to Orlando and see if they put it all together. It should be awesome.

Oh, in other swine flu news...

They are supposed to announce today that our school will be closed for an additional 7 days. Now this would be great for us personally, since we will out of town anyway. But of course it sucks for every other family. Still waiting for official word.

And this is priceless. Last week when we were all in a panic over this, the University sent out an e-mail from the "Crisis Response Team" (cue Crisis Music) stating what our procedures were in case we ended up with a case of swine flu on campus. This makes sense since students live in dorms, etc. We always have to be careful of communciable illnesses.

So anyway, I sent an e-mail back to the proper person named by the Crisis Response Team's memo. Explained that my kids go to the school that had to be closed, that I had been it the school building on both Tuesday and Wednesday of last week (and the sick child was in school on those days). I explained that neither I nor my kids were symptomatic.

This morning I got a phone call from my Dean. Now, I never EVER speak with my Dean. Ever. I have only laid eyes on the man maybe 3 times in the several years that he has been at the university (I have been here longer). Anyway, he told me not to come to campus all week! :cool1:

Ok, so part of me feels a bit like Typhoid Mary. :lmao: But the other part of me was like, phew! I have been trying to get a pedicure for days so I am ready for my trip and now I will have time! :lmao:

Of course, they are making me feel somewhat irresponsible about getting on a plane in a few days. But I keep checking all of the updates, etc. and everyone is saying that if you are not symptomatic, then you should continue on as usual. And by the time we get on the plane, the incubation period will be over. So really, I am not thinking there is anything wrong with us going.

E - I am glad with your luck of time with the swine! :lmao::thumbsup2

Please catch me up to speed...I have been going back and trying to make sure I get the trips correct...you are suprising the kids with a trip to Disney next week and then a cruise? Maybe I am totally wrong...I figured it would be easier to ask clarification than not...

How long will Jeff be gone? Does he go to Asia often?

I bet Riley feels privaleged to know!

Dawn - love the quote. It is so right.

Nancy - I have the shorts, the sunglasses, but not the little bag thing. Need to get one of those.

Erika - I can't believe the hysteria that your town is under right now. Siena College had a measles scare back when my sister was a student there and the basketball team had to play the tournament games in empty gymnasiums to prevent the further spread of the disease, but classes still went on. I am glad you have a cohort in your planning now. The plan for the girls sounds awesome. Good luck with it!

LisaV - sending good housing vibes your way. I hope you find something soon.

Hi to everyone else! Not much going on here. I am plugging my way through processing changes to contracts (fun right?) so I am crunching numbers all day.

Hope the afternoon is a good one for everyone!

Wowza. Genevieve - what a beautiful name!
Good thoughts being sent across the water to that precious baby girl, Jodi and her husband, and Liz.
Thank you Erika for keeping us updated

So, not had much chance to check in. Busy busy busy today. I was in bed at 4pm on Sunday with a sickness bug :guilty: Feeling much better today though.

Hi everyone :flower3:

Hi Gang!

Just popping in to say hello and thank you for all the prayers and good wishes. It was amazing to watch Genevieve be born! I'm so glad I got to see her "new"! It was a good delivery and Jodi did really well. She's resting now and the rest of us are home to crash, back for dinner time. Gen's in the NICU and holding her own. I am sure there will be ups and downs, but she's off to a good, if early, start. Pray that it continues.

xoxo
