In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Meatloaf. OMG it was good. Baked potatoes (mine was a sweet potato) and steamed beans.

Yum.... that dinner was way better than mine. Sorry about the hip flexors still bothering you. Listen to Erin and you'll be back to squatting in no time. I'm not quite sure if that is a good thing or not though? :rotfl:

can I just say....I'm "off". My workouts are fine - it's my food. Totally "off". And I feel cruddy because of it.
Time to get back "on".

Ack.

I need accountability. :scared:

You got it. I'll even throw in a whistle if you stay 'on' for the next four weeks so you can take back your accountability officer role. Deal?

:lmao:

I had to read that twice. I"m thinking YOU have to stop, pee, sniff

Great job on the walking.

THanks! Yes every once and a while I stop to sniff! but that is because I walk beside the apple orchard. The trees are budding can't wait to see them bloom! The peeing nope I go before I leave the house!

Steph - How is the water intake going?
Water intake wasn't great.. I had a 14 oz glass here when I got home and then I had 3 (yes 3) 20 oz iced coffee's and then a 20 oz bottle of water. It's very hard to drink while at work because we can't have any food or drinks in the lab.

L
Steph ~ how was today in the midst of chaos? Hang in there too!
UUUUGGHGHHHH it was very busy! Finally it slowed down at 10 om I got to relax that last hour! A lot of the flu testing going on!

Meatloaf. OMG it was good. Baked potatoes (mine was a sweet potato) and steamed beans.

MMMMMMM sounds good maybe I will make that tomorrow night!

Erika sorry to hear about Cam's knee! Glad your petri dish was empty. OURS was over loaded! On of the girls at work her daughter was running around at a friends and twisted her knee. Her husband was on his way in with her and she told him to turn around and go to the pediatricians he went there and they wouldn't touch her so back to the ER. THey were there for 4 hours, which was good!

So tonight while at work a friend of mine who works in an doctors office
came in and asked if I was still looking to come into an office setting. I was like H E L L YES! So he took my name and number to give to the office manager tomorrow. So maybe I will have a new job in the next week or two!

The wind is howling here! sounds like a train coming through.
Ok off to bed! mocha is going up and down stairs waiting for me! UHHG!

Hi to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got it. I'll even throw in a whistle if you stay 'on' for the next four weeks so you can take back your accountability officer role. Deal?

Paul-A! Noooooo!

I'm thrilled you signed up for 3 more months! Rockstar.

Nancy - now I remember. You reminded me. I wondered how your hip was doing. I guess not good.

Cammie - poor little sweety.

It is truly springtime in my world. 60's, breezy and sunny. LOVE it.

Morning Ladies!
So it a brisk rainy day here in North East NY! The wind is whipping and the rain is coming sideways....great!
So I have a house to get ready... they are having a birthday party here for my MIL tomorrow ...while I'm at WORK!. I wanted it tonight since I have to work and Dh has to work at 3 am on sunday morn, but NO one SIL has something to do for an hour at the school with one of her kids so myself and a BIL Miss everything because we have to work! I basically told steph to tell them they can't have it here! I acted like a toddler stamped my feet and all!:rotfl2: but it still will be here and I will have to leave in the middle of it! All I can say is they best have food before I leave... not like last time.
Ok need to bring kids to school.

Good Morning!

Still not feeling well, but I'm here. Wanted to pop by in the AM to say  Have a great Friday everybody!

It's raining again today. Started in Wednesday and won't be stopping until Tuesday I think. Watch out Lyz! It's moving to Ohio. Hope is breaks up before getting to you.

Dawn ~ you need to call your doc to get your numbers. It's important that you know where you stand because insulin resistance can lead to diabetes. I can't believe that your doc hasn't been checking up on this yet. Mine was on me like stink on poo.

I left a message and should hear back today. She gave me tons of info about eating more of a healthy diet and following a diabetic eting program but she is a reg MD. Maybe I should see a specialist? Give me some advice if you can.

Nancy - hope you feel strong enough to jump back on the wagon. Beating yourself gets old real fast and you deserve better.

Steph - it is cold here too. I want spring for more than 2 days at a time.

E - That poor girl - was it right in the center of her knee? I can't imagine getting staples there!

Paula - I could not squat a squirrel so you are my Olympic goddess!:worship:

Have a great Friday all! I am off to finish putting away a bunch of crud still needing a new home. Pantry rollouts were installed last night so more is done now!

Tonight we are going to Festival of Nations in St. Paul. It is a mini EPCOT in size but 100 times more countries represented in venues. They have craft vendors, dancers and food expos from all over the world. It is huge and I love seeing so many faces in so many shades and shapes!

Soccer for Baylor all day Saturday and cleaning out the garage all day Sunday getting ready for a sale next weekend. If I sold all our extras for $1 we would be rich. Or at least enough to build the deck! :worship:

Morning! Just saying hi. Will be back later for a proper post. Cam is fine this morning, just a bit sore. We didn't realize the extent of her fall last night as we were so focused on the bleeding knee. But this morning we found scratches on her elbow, shoulder, and cheekbone. Man, that kid FELL! :rotfl2:

Well, the Caribbean sun will heal it. :goodvibes

Hi gang!

Erika - glad Cammie is okay. I was thinking about you guys and you hand sanitizers at the hospital!

So. I'm beat here. Just exhausted. Got to meet the neonatologist. Very scary stuff, but they are amazing at what they do. Jodi is going to have this baby soon. She's at 24 weeks. If she makes it to 25, it would be a huge deal. She's fine, the baby is fine, but the minute things change, it's major.

Lots of hurdles still, but she is in good spirits. I am trying to hold them up as best I can. Must go nap and then run her errands!

Happy Friday everyone!

Erika, :wizard::hug: for Cammie. Sounds like a bad fall.

Dawn, love the pics. Your family is cute as a button!! Oh and the kitchen turned out great too...

Steph, yucky here too but supposed to clear off...supposed to...

EE, :wizard::wizard:

Everyone else, :flower3:

Planning my garden which I will hopefully get in this weekend. Lots of things to think about, companion planting and all. Trying to keep the bugs away and doing it all without yucky sprays and stuff. I discovered there is a plant called "Marvel of Peru" or "Four O'Clock" because it opens up in the afternoon, that kills Jap Beetles. Who knew?? The plant attracts them and they eat the plants which have a poison in them. I ordered some up post haste!! I don't know about anyone else, but we are inundated with Japanese Beetles all summer long and they eat EVERYTHING in my garden, beans, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, just everything.

Anyway, between the garden, laundry, field hockey practice and a baseball game, this should be a short weekend for me. Funny thinking about no LR this weekend but yet, nice all the same. It will be good getting back into a routine soon. Gym today and some elliptical time to give some more stretch to my hammies, then the nursery for plants/seeds.

Have a good one everyone!!

How scary!! I just spent about 10 min looking this up on the 'net, and yes, 25 weeks (or anything more really) would be a huge deal. 24 is still survivable, but scary.

Please tell her that we are all pulling for her and the little one. Give Greg a hug too...

LisaPR, sounds like a busy day! Hmm, can vegetables ship from Maine to NC and still make it?

E, glad Cammie is okay.

Everyone else,.

I am feeling better today, has subsided into a normal head cold. I much prefer this to the fevery body-achy crap from the other day.

Kat, glad you are feeling better.

LisaPR--some folks in this area get the beetles, but we don't. Not sure how or why that happens. Hope the predator plants work!

Liz--what can I say? This is just awful. Every single day makes a difference at this stage. The more days, the better. We have 2 couples we are friends with, both of whom had 26-week preemies. It was such a long, long haul for them. I am so nervous for Jodi and Greg. How are they holding up mentally?

Amiee - Amish restaurant :thumbsup2 Thanks for thinking of me  Hope you are feeling better soon :flower3:

Erika - like you had time for an ER trip  So glad Cammie is feeling ok though.

You got it. I'll even throw in a whistle if you stay 'on' for the next four weeks so you can take back your accountability officer role. Deal?

OOH! It's even in writing. The promise of a whistle :yay:

Steph - I guess I never thought about the "no drinks" in the lab. That would make it challenging to get your water in. Crossing my fingers for you and that possible job!

Paul-A! Noooooo!

rotfl::rotfl:

My hip flexor/groin is definitely improving. I'm just a very impatient person.

Sounds like fun.

I'm not "off-off", just, "eh-off". :lmao: (makes me feel like I'm 13. Do you LIKE like him or just like him? :rolleyes1) I think I just need a bit of a mental break.

Liz - scary stuff with Jodi. You know, you are one awesome friend. Really. :hippie:

LisaPR
- have fun planting! I'm doing that too. And Japanese Beetles? ugh. Hate 'em

Hi everyone

So, its raining here again!

Erika - Sorry about Cammie, sounds like she took a real good fall

Liz - Continued good thoughts and crossed fingers for Jodi and the baby

Kat - Glad you're feeling a little better :cool2:

Just got tickets for Phantom of the Opera. So excited! :cool1:

Very cool... it is an awesome show!!!!

Not much going on here which is really nice. Looking forward to a quiet weekend. Too bad the weather is looking iffy so I am not sure how much riding I am going to get in. Keep your fingers crossed for some dry weather.

Enjoy the afternoon...
Paula

In swine flu hell, still. So over the top here. I had to run an errand earlier and it is a freaking ghost town. I swear, I could have shot a canon up the middle Main St. and no one would have even heard it, let alone be hit by it. So eerie.

So here's the latest. I had to contact my university and let them know that I wasn't going to be up on campus this morning (had a meeting scheduled) because I had kids at the "affected school." (Which is how the news and everyone is referring to it.)

OMG. I have had every university official e-mailing me asking for information and updates, etc. If they close the university because of ME, I am going to go APE. The CDC is pretty clear on this. As long as no one is symptomatic at the institution, then there is no need to close down. I have no symptoms. My girls have no symptoms. People are just hysterical over this.

Liz! I'm in awe of you. Sister. Tell Jodi how much we are thinking/praying for her. It might be crazy, but it cannot hurt.

LisaPR, sounds like a busy day! Hmm, can vegetables ship from Maine to NC and still make it?

Excellent question Kat!

I am feeling better today, has subsided into a normal head cold. I much prefer this to the fevery body-achy crap from the other day.

Glad you are feeling betta.

Man oh man, what would that do to the grading schedule and your cruise! Are the banks open?

Dawn - the festival sounds fun.

Paula - hope you get in a ride on your new wheels!

LisaPR - it's nice to not have to run, eh!

Amiee - yeah, raining off and on. Nothing major. I'm just glad it's cool and not sticky hot.

Yes, businesses are open. If they shut down campus, I am still ok. I do all of my exams and grading online, so I will be able to function. Most others, though, would get screwed. I am one of very few who works online.

Hi Gang,

It is time for me to get the heck out of dodge... It has been a long week and I am hitting the road.

I am off to meet my sister for dinner later. We are heading to PF Chang's and they have an awesome shrimp entree that is like 390 calories... perfect.

Hope you all have a great night. I have to pick up a bike helmut and gloves so that I am ready to take my new wheels for a spin tomorrow.

I'll check in later....

Infestation update...the news just mentioned that they are now recommending that schools be closed for two weeks. How far is this going to go?
