In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hey Everybody! My Saturday shift is over until this time next month. It could be worse though. I get a 1/2 day during the week and there are 4 of us in management, so it works out well.

OMG ~ gotta share a funny. My mom thinks my son might have a crush on a girl at school. He's been really concerned about his hair and appearance lately. :lmao:

Be back in a few hours.

Hey everyone!!

Stacey-WTG on the loss and I LOVE the house. So exciting!! I actually love the highlighter pink color. Delena's room is half bright pink. Her's is a bit more of a bright magenta, but similar. We had to paint everyroom in our house when we bought it. the old owners loved pastels in every room. Blech.

...

Kat-thanks you for reposting the beer links!! Have you found any wine sites?

...

Liz-Can you repost your site for fundraising?? If I had you know A JOB, I'd come up and run with you too. I just got information for my local race for the cure which is in october. I plan on running it again this year.

...

We're off today to the St Patrick's festival. My lunch will consist of Guinness. we also need to rearrange our living room furniture and clean the pool filter. Woo-Hoo!!

Have a good day!!

My house is builder beige, all over. This house was built to our spec (new development), and we were too lazy/cheap to paint over fresh paint. Maybe in another year or so we will paint it.

Wine is generally about 75-100 cals in 4oz unless it is dessert wine or riesling (which is a bit more, I think). Carb counts are somewhere between 4-6? I usually count 150 cals in an 8 oz glass.

Hmm, road trip in October?? Food and wine is what, 45 min away? Anyone with me? Assuming I still have a job...

Amy - bought some new dark wash, trouser style jeans to wear out today / tonight and a blazer for an event I am going to on Tuesday (provided the pants I own still fit otherwise I'll be back out tomorrow to exchange it for something else). Nothing terribly exciting, but fun none the less. I am down four sizes since I started so it is very exciting to pick up a size I haven't worn in a while.

I am getting ready to head to the gym. I have a cardio craving going on (I think it is guilt over the pizza on Thursday) so I am going to get in some cardio, clear my head and then get ready for the busy day.
...
Later,
Paula

4 sizes down!!!! :worship: And a cardio craving. Goddess!!

Devestated. Honestly. My iron ROCKED. Now, I don't do much in the way of ironing clothes - please don't misunderstand here  Quilting, sewing, yep- gotta have a fabulous iron.

...

Step stools are not only for the vertically challenged. I'm 5'7.5" and I have one too!

...

Nice day here today. Spring is knocking on our door :woohoo:

My mom is a sewer/quilter and she feels the same way about her iron, so I understand.

I am 5'8" and we have a step stool but I only use it for changing the batteries in the smoke detectors, or the canned lights...

Awful day here. 40 and raining. Bleh.

First goats, then hogs, and now a COW?!?! OMG, you are trying to kill me!

Paula--awesome! Holy crap, 4 sizes!

Aim--the weather is supposed to be really good for the next week! 50s! The snow is finally melting like crazy! :cool1:

Off to Cammie's birthday. Will post cake pics at some point, since I know that Lyz will want to see them. Amy--her cake is pink and brown (chocolate). Super cute. Chocolate round cake. Smaller round cake on top of that in pink frosting. Alternating pink and chocolate decoratives around the edges of both. And then...10 pink bowling pin shaped cookies sitting on top. (Each cookie is on a stick, so it looks like the bowling pins are set up on top of the cake. Yes, it is a bowling party.) Anyway, the cake is very trendy! :rotfl2:

Have fun!! And happy anniversary, and happy belated to Cammie!!

Happy party day to Cammie!

Road trip to Food and Wine providing I GET a job! ;) I'll fly down and we can drive, Kat.

Way to go, Paula! :cool1:

Went to the gym, third day in a row! Plans for a class tomorrow with Nick.

Book club tonight, have to go finish the book! Later, gators.

Paula-WTG on 4 sizes down!! Awesome!!

Erika-That cake sounds awesome!!

Kat-Thanks for the wine info! Calories and carbs were lower than I thought. We can make it to WDW from here in about an hour and 15 minutes. I fit works out, we could do the race on Saturday and then go to Disney for a couple nights!! And the race goes along the gulf of mexico. Really scenic!! So hoping that everyone's job situations are okay by then. Scary stuff.

I am back from having my liquid Guinness lunch! Yum. I did have sandwich too.

Waiting on DH to get back from the beer store. In the mean time I am enjoying a glass of white sangria from my box o wine from target.

Enjoy the rest of saturday everyone!! Cheers!

Silly me, I thought Guiness WAS a sandwich! ;)

I wish I liked it, though, as it is a good calorie bet. Maybe I should try again, as my tastes in beer have gotten darker and darker lately.

Definitely scary job stuff, but I should know something for certain before summertime, either one way or another.

I have had Target box wine before, it really isn't bad.

Random observation.

Spring is here.

There was a tick crawling across my arm at dinner

Now I have the heebie-jeebies. :crazy2:

:cheer2: Awesome, Kat!

And my iron just died. Dead on the table. I was just using it, too. And, done. It quit. DH just took it apart, and I plain wore it out. :headache: Now I gotta buy a new one. I'm a complete iron SNOB.:rolleyes1 I had a professional one - loved it :lovestruc

Now I'm in mourning

Enjoy & Be Safe!!

Should we say a few words for your iron???

:rotfl2:

GREAT results! Awesome!

Yes, our 6-week challenge is officially over. WE RULE!

Let's start another one on Monday, k? What should it be? How long? This one was 6 weeks--did that seem too long? What are some goals/events that people have coming up?

For me, I have the cruise. 8 weeks. And I need to be AWESOME for that, right? So that is what I am working toward.

Everyone...post what you are working toward. A vacation, a reunion or party, or just summer, etc. (or ahem, a FAIR, just sayin') And I will design a challenge around that.

Events for me would be vacation in mid-June and then being in my cousin's wedding in mid-September.

Baby goat? Hmm, what's Nancy going to do? Sacrifice a goat to the dark lord Beelzebub when she reaches her weight loss goal?:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I am up for another 4 or 6 week challenge.

I have no major events coming up in that time frame to work towards - sad, I know - so it doesn't really matter to me. I would be happy to stay on this 5 -6 pound / month pace.

My bigger goal is my bike race in July and then my birthday in September. I would really like to be zeroing in on the 75 - 80 pound mark by my birthday and then begin closing in on the 100 pound mark by the new year (that would be a truly awesome Christmas present!).

I have no doubt that you will reach this goal! Congrats on losing 4 sizes!!!

Today, Riley's surgery
Tomorrow - Cammie's birthday party (yes, we had to do it 2 weeks after her actual day)
Tomorrow night - our for dinner with J to celebrate our anniversary
Sunday - 5k race. J and I are running for sure. Cammie is on the fence. She wants to do it, but she isn't sure she is ready.

So, busy week-end in this house!

Happy Anniversary!

Paula-WTG on 4 sizes down!! Awesome!!

:scared1: Is it now a dead tick?

Bahh! I forgot to post my challenge update:

I have been tracking every single day for the last week and 1/2. It has really helped me with accountability. And it also helped me realize that I need something better.

I logged just under 1000 minutes in exercise. That is huge for me! Now I just have to make myself drink more water every day, not just a day here and a day there. The scale didn't really move, but I am able to zip 14 jeans (couldn't do that in January).

Here's some Disney themed Goth Poetry. Read it with a dreary, monotone, low voice. It may also help to put on all black and dye your hair black. You know, to really get in the mood. :lmao: :scared1: :lmao:

Minnie with her bleeding smile
Left this earth to think a while
Riding on a silver horse
Listening to Snow White’s discourse
On life

Mickey gave it everything
But his efforts didn’t bring
An end to his inner pain
And all that’s left is his disdain
For the strife

Pluto, weak is your bite and bark
As you’re walking in the dark
Do you know any stranger?
Are you only rife with anger?
Drop the knife!

Cinderella and her Handsome Prince
Never made it over the fence
To a happy foreign land
With a castle made of sand and a band
All playing the fife

Fin

Nancy - sorry to hear about the iron. Just think of the fabulous new one that you can get.

WOW. Paula! That's so awesome :yay:

Hope you have fun with Jesse today! Erin kicked my butt today :rolleyes1 Crazy that we pay for this torture! :goodvibes

Nice day here today. Spring is knocking on our door :woohoo:

Only went in for some cardio today so no Jesse (did say hi to him though). I get his torture tomorrow afternoon. I am really hoping that the novelty of the new 15 pound medicine ball is over and he chooses someone else to torture with that thing. Glad your sessions with Erin are going well. Crazy that we pay for it, but oh so worth it.

First goats, then hogs, and now a COW?!?! OMG, you are trying to kill me!

Amiee - and so it begins with your son. Good luck!

I have no doubt that you will reach this goal! Congrats on losing 4 sizes!!!

Amiee - Thanks for the vote of confidence. This has been a long haul and I need all the help I can get. Congrats on the tracking and for zipping the size 14 jeans! There is nothing better than actually seeing your results on something other than the scale.

Oy - I am tired. Made it through my social butterfly day (felt like Liz the way I out and about today). Had a great time, but ate a little too much at dinner. Oh well, it was fun and it was worth it. Have a great night everyone and I'll catch you all tomorrow.

Paula

PS - Nancy - hope things go well for you tonight with both the sewing and the goats.

Roddy - the poem is too funny...

Should we say a few words for your iron???

:rotfl2:

Please do

:scared1: Is it now a dead tick?

yep. flushed it

:woohoo: for the jeans. It must be all that new found exercise ;)

Here's some Disney themed Goth Poetry.

:confused3 Amish don't "get" Goth. Even though we all wear black ;)

I was confused (what else is new  ). Don't know why I thought today was your day. 15 lb. medicine ball? :scared: now THAT is cruel and unusual punishment

PS - Nancy - hope things go well for you tonight with both the sewing and the goats.

Thanks Paula. Glad you had a great time today! It's currently quiet in the barn (I have my baby monitor on :upsidedow ) and I'm winding down for the night. Not quite done with the dresses, but oh-so close. :cool1: I won't want to see purple satin again for a long, long time  (ok. I just typed "purple satan" and had to change it :lmao: )

Hi guys. Enjoyed the reading. To lazy to post replies.

Nancy - good luck with the baby goats. Ewww a tic.

Roddy - was that your Disney contribution to the thread?:goodvibes

Paula and Liz - working out on a Saturday. :thumbsup2

Amiee - sorry - I don't remember what exercise you are doing? Please tell. 14! I so wish.

EriKa - happy partying. We are going to a bowling birthday party tomorrow.

Amy, Kat, Stacey and everyone else, Hi!

I am tired. Went shopping at the outlet malls 45 minutes away then drove back 45 minutes to get hubs, then off to north Columbus (1 hours 30 minutes up) for dinner (Buca de Beppi, good). I spent way too much time in my "kah" today. Had fun shopping. Liz, Paula, Amy - my girly girls, I'll email the pic when I load it.

Ok, off to bed.

Random observation.

Spring is here.

There was a tick crawling across my arm at dinner

Now I have the heebie-jeebies. :crazy2:

YUCK!!!!!!!! We had an alive one come into the lab and the "NEW GIRL" got to receive it and she asked what she should do with it and one of the tech's told her she had to feed it! She asked what do we feed it! At that point we couldn't hold in our laughter anymore and she finally realized we we joking with her... a kind of hazing so to say!

Paula ~ WAY @ GO ON THE PANT SIZE ! OMG that is such great news!

Erika~ Pictures are a MUST for that cake:cake: :cake: ! pink and brown my favorite colors! Happy anniversary! Good Luck on the Race!!!!

Nancy~ pictures of the baby goat? Or did I miss it!

Roddy~ yeah that was dark! Defiantly needed to be in all black... LOL

AMy and Kat ~ how can you drink that dark stuff...I love my corona! Don't really have a taste for beer!~
Our target doesn't sell alcohol. I did go looking for the BOX O' Wine! It was a NO go! Strict laws up here on who can sell liquor and wine.

So I had a diabetic mothers NIGHTMARE tonight! Kids were bored so Stephen suggested the McDonald's play place for dinner (outside is a HUGE PUDDLE) .... Great! I absolutely HATE that place, it's so LOUD! So we gather zac's stuff and we head out with the boys (sam at SIL house) and we get ready to eat ( I had cheeseburger and small fry) Zac checks himself and I get his shot ready and hand it over...... He starts giving his shot and says it's stuck!!! Whats stuck zac? It won't go any further I'm out of insulin. WHAT... we are 20 mins from home! WHAT do you mean your out of insulin! SO I INHALE my food and say I will run home and get more... Stephen says NO just let him eat and we will give him a shot later! The kids ate and played we watched the time think he is going to be sky high! We get home an hour later and I give him a shot. an Hour later it's time for bed, I have him check himself and OMG he is a normal number 174, That was weird..... 30 mins later He gets up from bed and says he feels LOW I was thinking YEah right your probably 400 now! NOPE 47! He could have NOT gotten any insulin and had been FINE! It's so weird! And let me tell you there are some carbs in McD's food! a long with the fat and calories! So I will be checking he often tonight!

So I swear the radio station up here that I listen to reads our thread and then talks about what we discuss. Earlier in the week it was about telling your SO about a weight issue, then we talked about Facebook! well Listening today (they recap the week on Saturdays) they were talking about facebook and should there be an age limit and is it all about collecting friends! I think its just plain Ole' weird that they talk about what we talk about!

Oh I told you all about the spray painting of the CAT right, well, lets see this week! The Boys got a Brand new jar of Peanut butter and thought they could use it as shaving cream , yes thats right SHAVING CREAM! Stephen caught them with his brand new razor inches from their face and they had slathered the PB on their faces! I told him he needs to entertain them better at night while I'm not home to rule the roost!

    TO Liz , Lyz, Lisa, Lisa/pr, Amiee and anyone else that I forgot!

Morning everyone!

Ronda, I too am the proud owner of a stool(s) for reaching purposes. :lmao: Also, you will so be able to finish the WDW half. Don't worry about the medal, you will surely be there in time to get one. Funny (or not) how they run out EVERY year...:sad2: At my WDW half, one of the ladies finished in our group and did not receive her medal. She was crying and I felt so bad for her. One of the vets in the group walked her back to the picture area and let her use her medal for the picture. That was just so sweet of her....

Nancy, low the beef cow. Make sure you name it something like "meat" or "hamburg". It always makes me laugh. The kids used to name the cows after our friends until on night Shelby looked at me and said "are we eating Ed tonight?" That was the end of that. They have names now like "sunshine" and "snowball". The goat story made me cry. I had a calf in the basement for 3 months last year nursing it after frostbite. He lost most of his ears and part of his tail. It was sad to say the least, but he lived and that was all that mattered.

Erika, best of luck in the 5K today. I hope that Cammie decides to do it. Best wishes toward Riley's foot. I hope it is doing well too. I miss all the fun not being on at night and missing days on the weekend. :rolleyes1 Beach to Beacon signups today. I am on the fence. I want to but yet I can't shake this I don't wanna do anything funk. Maybe the 14 miles today will talk me into it (or out of it).

Stacey, nice house. Impressive for a starter home!! My LR is the exact same color as yours which made me laugh.

Everyone else, :grouphug:

So which race is on the radar for October? I love ToT but lots of the DR group are doing RFTT too. ToT is very close to my birthday...just sayin...popcorn::

As for me, Mike and I went out on Friday night for wings and beer. They were out of my fave so I ended up with Bud American Ale which is tolerable but about middle of my preference list. We came home and went to bed. At 2 a.m. I woke up violently ill. Welcome the norovirus attack. :scared1: That was a waste of great wings and beer... :scared: So I spent most of Saturday on the couch, after Shelby's 3 hour FH practice of course which I was elected to attend because Mike wanted to go to the snowmobile club picnic... When Shelby and I got home Mike called and asked why we weren't out there so she and I dressed, climbed both on my sled (cramped to say the least) and she drove me out to the picnic. He complained that I didn't eat and brought water for myself to drink instead of what the club was offering. Hello, still not feeling well. Finally Shelby said that she was tired and wanted to go home. She took one of our other sleds (the family of 6 each had one there for some reason) and let her grandmother ride home with her grandfather and I followed her home. I slept for 3-1/2 hours and got woken up in order to make dinner. Which of course I did...:headache: Then bed and here I am alive and well and not so ready for 14 miles today. I am actually a little worried about it. And yes, I will so be taking it very easy today.

For the challenge, I will do whatever you all decide of course but my vote is with the April 25th ending. That is my full marathon date. I need something to keep me going!!!

Good Afternoon everyone!

LisaPR - :scared1: on the illness - My mum caught the Norovirus last year, she was so sick with it! Feel better soon

Everyone - Hi!

I was so busy yesterday, then last night we went out for a big family dinner for my favourite Aunts 60th birthday - she is now officially a pensioner! It was great, but too much food and cocktails were consumed!

Off to read back, I will try and pop back later :flower3:

good luck with your race today Erika. And Happy Anniversary. Am I right in thinking it's today?

YUCK!!!!!!!! We had an alive one come into the lab and the "NEW GIRL" got to receive it and she asked what she should do with it and one of the tech's told her she had to feed it! She asked what do we feed it! At that point we couldn't hold in our laughter anymore and she finally realized we we joking with her... a kind of hazing so to say!

that's so mean :lmao:

Nancy~ pictures of the baby goat? Or did I miss it!

No, no pics posted yet. Maybe I can get some good ones today. It's a nice sunny day and those crazy babies are having a blast!

Boys got a Brand new jar of Peanut butter and thought they could use it as shaving cream , yes thats right SHAVING CREAM! 3 months :scared1: A few years ago, I had a baby goat in a playpen in my family room for about a week. That was plenty long enough for me!
here I am alive and well and not so ready for 14 miles today. I am actually a little worried about it. And yes, I will so be taking it very easy today.

just in case you were wondering....a 14 mile run does NOT count as "taking it easy" :rolleyes1

Feel better. Don't wear yourself out - it's so not worth it.

I was so busy yesterday, then last night we went out for a big family dinner for my favourite Aunts 60th birthday - she is now officially a pensioner! It was great, but too much food and cocktails were consumed!

Sounds like you had a great time! :upsidedow

I had waaaayyyy too much food yesterday. I didn't officially track, but I counted my points in my head before I went to bed last night - I think I was at 38. OOPS. :scared: I haven't had a day like that in a long, long time. It's not that I made *bad* choices, just too many of them. Honestly, I think I have this mental thing - where I know I've given my last "check in" for the challenge, but since a new one hasn't started, so I think it's o.k. to have a free-for-all day. :confused3 I suppose as long as it is just the one day every 4-6 weeks, that's ok. But it was just crazy. Like a total feeding frenzy.

Today - it's back on track.

Morning! I will do a full catch up post later this afternoon.

Cam's party - good. I don't care for bowling parties, but it is what she wanted, so what're you going to do? She has the sweetest group of friends, so no horror stories of awful and bratty behavior.

Dinner out - J and I had a nice evening. We went out for drinks first and then our favorite Thai place. It was yum.

Today - race is at noon. We will head out in about an hour. It will be interesting with Cammie. Not really sure how she will do. I don't think she's ready, but she really wants to do it.

Challenge - looks like we will shoot for that April 25th week-end. LOTS of stuff happening at that time and it is close enough to the other deadlines that were kicked around.

See you on the flip side.

Here are the pics of the pink and chocolate bowling cake. Each girl got to take home one of the bowling pin cookies. The chocolate stripes on the bowling pins started to "run" a bit. But otherwise, it turned out fine.

:confused3 Amish don't "get" Goth. Even though we all wear black ;)

I won't want to see purple satin again for a long, long time  (ok. I just typed "purple satan" and had to change it :lmao: )

AHHA! Here's my vindication for the original goat statement, Lyz!!! Freudian slip here on Nancy's part. That was her plan for the goat!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Roddy - was that your Disney contribution to the thread?:goodvibes

Yes, that was my Disney contribution to the thread. I felt I had to do something 'Disney-esque'. The Disney aspect of the thread leaves me a little off in left field so I had to contribute something. Maybe the Seven Dwarfs die in my next poem. :scared1: ¿Quién sabe? :rotfl2:
