In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Stacey - ohh the house looks awesome. And I love the painted walls. Did you like that or are you going to change it? Well, except for the hot pink daughters room. Man that was bright. Maybe you'll have a girl first, lol.

So exciting. And a fenced in back yard for your dog!

I actually really like all of the colors as well. It is all freshly painted (as in you can still smell paint in the house). The only room i'm going to paint is.... you guessed it, the highlighter pink room!

I can't wait to have that yard for the pupster to run around!!!

Ronda--I have a tiny step stool in my kitchen for the top shelves! And a tiny step stool in the bathroom from the top of the linen closet. And a tiny step stool in the basement so I can reach those shelves, too. Getting the picture? :rotfl2:

And for Roddy and Kat...here is my Vegetarian Chili Recipe. As you can see, it is SUPER easy and takes like 15 minutes to throw together. It is basically fat free, all protein, and only healthy carbs. Seriously, it is like the most nutritionally perfect meal!

1 (19 ounce) can black bean soup (I usually use the dried "Fantastic" brand of Black Bean soup)
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained (NOTE: I am not a fan, so I omit these completely. Sometimes I substitute with black or red kidney beans, sometimes extra baked beans)
1 large can vegetarian baked beans
1 (14.5 ounce) can chili tomatoes
1or 2 cups frozen whole kernel corn
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon chili powder, or to taste
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried basil

Note: play with seasoning as you see fit. I often add 1/2 cup sugar (yes! sweet and hot chili! Makes for a great combo. I also add some hot sauce...again, just throw stuff in to taste.)

DIRECTIONS
In a slow cooker, combine black bean soup, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, baked beans, tomatoes, corn, onion, bell pepper and celery. Season with garlic, chili powder, parsley, oregano and basil. Cook for at least two hours on High.

AHHH!!! Erika! :yay: I'd forgotten about the Veg Chili recipe. I'll have to give this a try. Muchisimas Gracias!

STACEY! What an awesome house! Wow, I was totally expecting a typical "starter house" since it is your first and you are young, etc. But this is so not a starter! LOVE it!

Stacey!!! It's adorable!

Thanks!!!! I KNOW, i couldn't even believe it when we walked in. We had trudged through a ton of craptacular needing a TON of work depressing houses. And then we walked in this one and my jaw dropped. I love it!

Yikes! Not 1/2 cup sugar. Too much. I don't measure. I just scoop some in my hand and throw it in, kwim?

Hi all.

Weigh in day today, i was down 1 lb, which i feel isn't too bad, b/c i figured i was going to gain back all 4.5 lbs i lost last week once i was able to eat solid food again!

The ten day mark from my surgery was today, so i'm able to go back to the gym tomorrow. I'm pretty excited, i've actually missed it.

OH, and sorry i've been MIA this week. I was busy.......... buying a house!

Yep, we found one, bought it, inspection is this weekend, so assuming nothing is drastically wrong, that baby is mine! :yay:

Have to catch up on posts!

Stacey - congrats on the house... It is beautiful. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that all goes well for you and the closing is quick and painless.

Hi gang - I am beat tonight. My sister and I did a little retail therapy tongiht. Not much since I didn't like most of what I was trying on so it wasn't too bad.

Glad to see everyone being so chatty tonight.

I should be back to my normal self tomorrow.

Off to bed for me,
Paula

Ah. Well I'd probably have omitted the sugar anyway. This is the first chili recipe I've seen that called for garbanzo beans, that's very interesting. Pinto beans are great in chili, too.

I second the pinto beans. It is the only bean i'm actually able to eat without gagging, so it's the only beans in my chili...

Whoops - just realized i haven't done this yet!!!

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story -
Last year for our honeymoon, it was really the first time bruce had been to Disney. We were eating dinner at Ohana and they crammed us way back in the corner, away from the entertainment and other occupied tables, we were almost offended! Until all of a sudden the lights dimmed, and Wishes started, we could see them perfectly out the window, music was piped in, and no one around, so it was like our own private showing, it was spectacular!

Great story, Stacey! Love magic stories. For a while, they were doing them on the Podcast. No sure why they stopped. But nothing gets me teary like a great pixie dust story!

Ah, the old days. Where I would both put the thread to sleep AND wake it up! :rotfl2: Sleep is for humans. :lmao:

Hey everyone!!

Stacey-WTG on the loss and I LOVE the house. So exciting!! I actually love the highlighter pink color. Delena's room is half bright pink. Her's is a bit more of a bright magenta, but similar. We had to paint everyroom in our house when we bought it. the old owners loved pastels in every room. Blech.

Ronda-Sounds like your runs are going great!. Like E said, if you can run two minutes of every mile you will not get swept at Disney, unless your walking pace is super super super slow!! You are on a team over on the events board right? It is a great motivation to be on a team. Keep posting about it here and over there and we'll get you to the start line!!

E-Have a fun weekend and happy Anniversary! And GL at the 5K! thanks for posting that recipe too. I think DH would love it!

Nancy-So sorry about the little goat. :sad1: That makes me sad. I want to live somewhere someday where I can have goats or something someday. I had a horse, rabbit, and ducks growing up in Vermont.

Paula-Retail therapy is always good. what did you buy?

Roddy-just :lmao: at the goat comment. Too funny.

Kat-thanks you for reposting the beer links!! Have you found any wine sites?

Kelly-LOVED the dress.so pretty. pink/brown is one of my color combination obsessions right now.

LisaV-Hope you are enjoying the drive to Vero! it is beautiful down here.

Liz-Can you repost your site for fundraising?? If I had you know A JOB, I'd come up and run with you too. I just got information for my local race for the cure which is in october. I plan on running it again this year.

Lyz-Any luck on finding those damn noodles?? I saw some edward on TV last night. :lovestruc

Amiee-Hope you are having a good weekend! ;)

LisaPR-I need you and Erika and any other new england people to do a nice weather dance for me for my trip up there next friday! I am requesting no snow, no ice and no mud. Colder temps are fine. :) Hope you are feeling better about things. Spring will be here soon.

Steph-

We're off today to the St Patrick's festival. My lunch will consist of Guinness. we also need to rearrange our living room furniture and clean the pool filter. Woo-Hoo!!

Have a good day!!

Good Morning everyone...

Feeling much better today. Guess I needed some sleep since I didn't get up until about 10:00.

Stacey - awesome pixie dust story. Love it when things like that happen.

Amy - bought some new dark wash, trouser style jeans to wear out today / tonight and a blazer for an event I am going to on Tuesday (provided the pants I own still fit otherwise I'll be back out tomorrow to exchange it for something else). Nothing terribly exciting, but fun none the less. I am down four sizes since I started so it is very exciting to pick up a size I haven't worn in a while.

I am getting ready to head to the gym. I have a cardio craving going on (I think it is guilt over the pizza on Thursday) so I am going to get in some cardio, clear my head and then get ready for the busy day.

Have a great day everyone. I likely won't be checking in until tomorrow so E - good luck with the race.

Forgot to mention - thanks again for all of the support yesterday. Hate it when these funks happen, but love the fact that you guys will help to get rid of them.

Later,
Paula

And I know you don't really eat the goats. They go off to a lovely and wonderful farm where they romp and play and live to a ripe old age. :lovestruc

You are totally right. :rolleyes1 That is exactly what I meant to say. It just came out wrong before

Ah - and LisaPr will like this one - my son is getting a beef cow. :yay: If all goes according to plan, she'll be moving in at the end of April

Nancy - i think you are honestly the first person i've ever known to be sad when your iron died ;) .....

Devestated. Honestly. My iron ROCKED. Now, I don't do much in the way of ironing clothes - please don't misunderstand here  Quilting, sewing, yep- gotta have a fabulous iron.

And LOVE the house pics. That pink is, well, violent  However, my daughter would prolly love it ;)

Roddy - much pepperoni is goat meat. Or I was told that. That's FAUX goat meat for you EriKa. It's not real.

:rotfl2: faux goat. It's made from soy.

I want a tiny step stool in my kitchen for the top shelf.

Step stools are not only for the vertically challenged. I'm 5'7.5" and I have one too!

I am down four sizes since I started so it is very exciting to pick up a size I haven't worn in a while.

WOW. Paula! That's so awesome :yay:

Hope you have fun with Jesse today! Erin kicked my butt today :rolleyes1 Crazy that we pay for this torture! :goodvibes

Nice day here today. Spring is knocking on our door :woohoo:

First goats, then hogs, and now a COW?!?! OMG, you are trying to kill me!

Paula--awesome! Holy crap, 4 sizes!

Aim--the weather is supposed to be really good for the next week! 50s! The snow is finally melting like crazy! :cool1:

Off to Cammie's birthday. Will post cake pics at some point, since I know that Lyz will want to see them. Amy--her cake is pink and brown (chocolate). Super cute. Chocolate round cake. Smaller round cake on top of that in pink frosting. Alternating pink and chocolate decoratives around the edges of both. And then...10 pink bowling pin shaped cookies sitting on top. (Each cookie is on a stick, so it looks like the bowling pins are set up on top of the cake. Yes, it is a bowling party.) Anyway, the cake is very trendy! :rotfl2:

Aimee, Paula, and anyone else interested, here is the link for the Eat-Clean Diet which kind of explains the plan I am following. I am finding my energy level to be more constant through the day (blood sugar levels) and I am never hungry. This may be the solution you are looking for. It mixes complex carbs and protein for every meal/snack and even into the desserts.

http://eatcleandiet.com/default.aspx?page=2

Paula, I am feeling you right now... Hang in. Oh and go for something comfy and cute like khakis or a pair of dark jeans, a dressier shirt and throw on some heels for good measure.

Thanks Lisa! This looks very liveable for me. It's worth it to try at least. I really like that desserts are included. Going to have to check out the book when I make my pilgrimage to Barnes & Noble today.
