In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

CUTIE!!!!!

Okay,

I know I'm being totally selfish here. I so know that. But I miss your regular posting so so much. I know you have so much on your plate and I'm being selfish. And that you;'re here. But regardless I'm putting it out - my "oh". .:sad1:

Lisa

Hi Everybody!

Haven't read a lick yet, but just wanted to stop to say hi first.

:wave2:

Be back soon!

apparently, these stores have issues with (really dumb) people who try to put their strollers on those things. :scared1: Seriously, would you send your child off on an escalator without you? Considering that the carts do occasionally get off center and stuff falls out of them? Craziness.... :sad2:

Unfortunately there is no "good judgement" test that one must pass before conceiving a child. :sad2:

TOTALLY CUTE. :cutie: I love it!

I love him!!!!

Is that okay? :rotfl: :lmao: ;)

yes, you can love him too! :goodvibes

I too am going to google those pods cause I have no idea what they are called. :lmao:

:rotfl: Isn't Google wonderfully amazing? Ah, the miracles of modern technology!

I was running late for drama club this evening, so I sent my "costume cohort" a text message to let her know. She texted me back just as we sat down for dinner. "ah, the wonders of texting. It's the most amazing new-fangled invention", I proclaimed. My kids looked at me like I was insane. Of course, I broke into song.

"there's a great big beautiful tomorrow....":rotfl:

Well, that's my interpretation of the conversation with added melodramatic effect for purposes of entertainment, HEHE! :rotfl2:

:lmao: I love your melodramatic interpretations!

Nancy, Steph - who else is WW? Are you as horrified as I am?

I would never be able to stick to 20 points. Ever. Never.

 Unless maybe the are METRIC points. You know, pounds vs. stones? :lmao:

Paula - how did JC go tonight? :confused3

I did! They look oddly interesting to me. Very Star Trek. Not one near me that I could find. University of NH, or RI - but both of them are a good 2+ hours away. Oh well.

:lmao: Maybe we'll ask you to go on a covert operation. Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

I would feel totally ridiculous taking pics of an escalator. I'd probably make DD stand there, like I was taking her pic or something. You know, so I didn't look like a complete freak.

I get it. Totally. And thankfully hubby feels the same way :rolleyes1He says: "Women are SUPPOSED to have curves. I wouldn't want to try and cuddle up with THAT boney body"

Ok - so that doesn't give me "license to feed" but at least I know he's not expecting me to be some freakishly thin stick woman

You know what's healthy. And realistic. And normal. I saw on ET or one of those shows the other night a bit about women that some considered to be "too fleshy". OMG. it was insane. IN.SANE. I wish I remembered who specifically they were referring to. Famous models who were now, um? Healthy looking :headache:

:rotfl:

Your hubby deserves the biggest virtual hug ever! So cool!

Scarlett looks great in that movie. The curves! The flesh! And she is super skinny, but not yucky. Yes, JA and JC aren't aging well - they need some weight on them.

Lisa, is there a link to this trench? I need a new spring coat!

Lisa Z, I cannot even imagine a Walmart that big! Crazy!

Kat, you will not be fat. Please. And you'll be so much more toned that me. shut it, sweetheart.

Um, lost the rest. Nancy, Paula, Erika...Steph. No idea what I was going to say! Oh!

Ronda - no worries about that C25K...take it slow. That thing kicked my a$$! You are doing far better than I did.

Okay, gang, you all need to get the daily Hungry Girl emails. And I finally used her cookbook this weekend and it FAB. Try it. Some sound weird but they are tasty and good for you - and even you can do it, Kat! Lots of low carb stuff.

http://www.hungry-girl.com/

She has a ton of recipes on her site and, like I said, I love the book. Made myself lunch from it and am making dinner. And you know how I HATE recipes and using books and want to wing it all the time! ;)

I thought about you today Liz. We keep a radio on at our command post and Born to Run was playing during my afternoon hour. Hungry girl rocks!!

Your hubby deserves the biggest virtual hug ever! So cool!

Yeah, I think I'll keep him

I have an early morning training session - so I'm calling it quits for the day.

my check-in:

Food: 29 points (U.S. points that is. What *is* the conversion to Euro? :rotfl2: )

Alcohol: none. I'm dry as the Sahara these days.

Water: lots. Close to 3 qts. (btw - I check in with trainer on that issue in the a.m.)

Exercise: 60 minutes cardio (TM) & 15 minutes core

Um, Liz? Why did you not tell us that today is National Banana Bread Day? :confused3

Hungry Girl says it is so, therefore I must believe. Although, truth be told, EVERY day could be National Banana Bread Day for me. I love me some good banana bread.

Oy. Now I'm going to go to bed craving banana bread. :cloud9:

To which Kat replies, "Golly, gee willikers, I'm still way under my calories for the day *swoon*." :lmao:

Well, that's my interpretation of the conversation with added melodramatic effect for purposes of entertainment, HEHE! :rotfl2:

I would pay money to actually hear Kat say that.... :rotfl2:

Hi all -

Just got back from the gym and the grocery store (sadly - not the supercenter, but the standard store) JC went all right. Didn't gain anything, but didn't lose anything either, so I can't complain. I can whine, but I can't complain. TOM is looming so I am going with that (and then there are those darn evil peanut m&m's that I ate - yeah, that's it...) As I said this morning, it is what it is and it is time to focus on this week so I got my butt to the gym and pedalled away my frustration. The workout felt good and I now have all sorts of good veggies for the week so I am happy.

I did get interesting news today at JC. You know how you all were talking about losing a WW point when you hit a certain age? Well it turns out after I lose the next 6 pounds, I lose 200 calories from my daily alotment. Bummer...

OK - off to make a cup of hot tea and have my snack and then get ready for tomorrow. I'll check in later.

Paula

PS - Lyz - hope you are not working too hard.

That is a bummer about losing calories. But it is awesome that you take out your frustration at the gym.

I like that. Whine. Not complain. And you're right - so many factors determine weight loss/gain/maintain. M&M's, TOM, last time you ate, the clothes you are wearing to name a few.

Besides, Look how far you've come! :thumbsup2

Oh no! Say it ain't so! I *hate* it when they take my food away

PS - Lyz - hope you are not working too hard.

Ditto that one, Lyz. Get some sleep, would ya? ;)

Hi everyone! Remember me? I am alive!

Ok, to catch up--

STEPH--love that you can walk like that at work! GREAT! OMG, I would kill to be able to get some miles in while getting paid! :rotfl2: Seriously, girl, whenever anyone needs something taken to the lab, volunteer! I don't know if it will work for you, but I know that one thing that always helps me get back ON after being off is getting in some miles. I feel like, "no way I am going to blow all of that hard work by eating crap!" Hang in there--we all know how hard it is to flip that switch.

LIZ--loving that you are on! Glad we could catch up a bit today.

LisaV
--love the red trench! Have I ever mentioned my love jackets and coats? Some people are all about shoes. Me? Jackets, coats, all of it. Love them. And Lisa, I know that I have not responded to you directly these past few days, but I love reading your posts and about your growth. Even in your down or off moments, you are growing, changing, learning so much. And sharing it here. I get something out of your posts, really. So thanks. And the only reason I haven't been commenting is because of time.

Kat--great job with your 3-week loss! And the challenge results that I just posted were through the end of Thursday, so the numbers don't yet include anything from Friday-today. I will update again this Friday. It just took me a couple of extra days to post this time around because (1) I was playing with the new format; and (2) SOME people :rolleyes1 were a bit late in posting their totals for the week. I think it has something to do with being Amish....:rotfl2:

Nancy--speaking of the Amish...you TEXT?!?!? :faint: PM me your cell! :rotfl: Training sounds like it is still going well. And you know, I can't remember the last time you whined about having no wine! SO proud of you for that! (Did I ever mention that one of the mothers' groups I belong to is called Whine and Wine?? So funny. But that is what we do...whine while drinking wine! The other group I am in is called Snitch and B*tch. Yes, I named both groups. ;) )

Amiee--LOVE reading about this little "thing" you have going. Jeff and I have been together for 15 years, so it is fun hearing about the newness of relationship (even if it is still platonic).

LYZ--WORD on what LisaV said. Just miss you. I haven't called you b/c I know how busy you are and that you are FOCUSED at work (which is as hard as being ON), and I don't want to get you off track. But I am thinking about you and waiting for tax season to be over. Just sayin.

PAULA
--good job at JC. Maintaining is maintaining, babe. It's all good. And squatting 60 lbs. on the bar is GOOD! Super impressed!

AMY--miss you, too! How long is this trip???? I just bought a book today and thought of you. It is called, "Run Fast: How to beat your best time, every time." If it is any good, I will send it your way. (And for anyone thinking I am slamming Aim with this, it is not intended that way at all. She and I both have the same goal of a sub-30 5k.)

Lisa/PR--how is everything up your way? Since you haven't chimed in, I am guessing that you are one of the thousands still without power. Hope all is well! I am thinking of you. And I know you heat with wood, so at least you are warm! We are heading up to central Maine tomorrow to check on the camp and rake the roof.

Kelly--Just love reading your posts! Ah, the Brits! I am such an Anglophile! Sounds like you are doing GREAT with your program these days.

Everyone else--HI! Sorry that I don't have time for more.

As for me--PT kicked my a$$ like you only read about! They had me working at 85% of max for nearly 80 minutes! I was sweating buckets and swearing profusely. Seriously, that was one of the most difficult workouts I have ever had. I kept asking, "Aren't I supposed to be RE-HABBING this muscle?" And their response, "Yes, but now it is time to build back strength." But I learned some great new exercises I can do at home. I will post them when I have more time since this is already a marathon post.

Other than that, I am just really busy with work. Not in a bad way, just trying to be a responsible grown-up, which can suck, you know?

Oh no. My post was so long I've gone and killed the thread.

*crickets*

Good Morning All -

Just wanted to check in before I jetted off to work. Been doing well at the gym, still enjoying it, so that's a plus!

So i think i'm starting to see where my problems are:

1 - i don't drink anywhere near the amount of water that i should. I drink some in the morning at/after the gym, then one glass with lunch, and one with dinner.... that's it! If i'm drinking 1/2 the water i should be i'd be suprised.... i have to work on that.

2 - i'm too busy. I keep beating myself up over this - resorting to convenience food/delivery/eating out so i can squeeze a few more minutes out of each day so i don't feel like i'm fighting a losing battle. I get annoyed with myself because i'm not the busiest girl on the block, if other ppl can do more, i should be able to as well. But then i realized, who cares what other ppl can do. I'm extremely busy for what i've been used to - work, gym, grad school and now the house hunting.... it's ok to take a few extra minutes to make a healthy lunch instead of going out, or to cook dinner instead of meeting friends out.....

Hoping i can step up my game and stop making excuses for eating crap! Hopefully this will start my weight loss back up, i haven't gained.... but i haven't lost in like 3 weeks. Not good.

Have a dentist appt tonight to prep for my wisdom teeth next tuesday :scared1: Less than thrilled about that, and it's at 7:15 tonight, how stupid is that? Another night completely shot!

I hope everyone has a great day. Can't wait til tomorrow b/c i actually get to come home after work!!!! :dance3:

Wake up, sleepyheads! I have to get everything done in about 3.5 hours this morning. My workout, my job, cook dinner, straighten the house, etc. Picking the kids up at noon from school and heading up north to make sure the camp is still standing.

Bringing snowshoes, so that should be fun! I should be able to trek across the lake.

Stacey--GREAT job. Sounds like you are really getting your head in the game! Good for you!

That's about like Kat's list of food for the day. She can show me what she's eaten for the day and it'll be like long a-- list of food from here to yonder. I read the list and say, "Gee, Kat, that's a large amount of food you've eaten there, the list is a mile long." To which Kat replies, "Golly, gee willikers, I'm still way under my calories for the day *swoon*." :lmao:

Well, that's my interpretation of the conversation with added melodramatic effect for purposes of entertainment, HEHE! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: You better watch your back today -- Kat will find you!!! :goodvibes

ah, the wonders of texting. It's the most amazing new-fangled invention", I proclaimed. My kids looked at me like I was insane. Of course, I broke into song.

"there's a great big beautiful tomorrow....":rotfl:

Love it! We low-tech girls have to stick together.

Um, Liz? Why did you not tell us that today is National Banana Bread Day? :confused3

Hungry Girl says it is so, therefore I must believe. Although, truth be told, EVERY day could be National Banana Bread Day for me. I love me some good banana bread.

I saw that too! I was sorely tempted to print out the recipe.

Don't beat yourself up -- we all do what we can do, and that has to be enough. Good luck with your dentist appointment.

Things are going well here -- I didn't do shred last night but I worked on my class, and the snacking is under control. I think this is going to be a good week. Hope you're all having a nice day. :flower3:

Oh no. My post was so long I've gone and killed the thread.

*crickets*

You didn't kill the thread. I came home from the gym and felt adventurous so I cleaned out and washed down the fridge, made my lunch and then promptly crashed.

Good luck at the camp.

Stacey - hang in there. Being aware of the issues you need to work on is the first step right. On the plus side, you haven't gained. I didn't lose incredible amounts of weight the first few weeks I started working out. Your body is building muscle at the same time it is losing fat so be patient (torture - I know). As for your life being so busy, you will know when to say enough is enough. How about taking a cue from Kat and taking some time to cook a bunch of things at once so you can make your own convenience food and then you will have healthy and yummy grab and go options?

Not much going on here. Just work and more work. I have my famildy dinner tonight followed by my training session so it should be a good night.

How is everyone else doing?

I'll see if I can find some pictures of it from when it opened. Not sure if I have the guts to go and take pictures of it myself. We'll see.
Kat - thanks for reminding me, I was going to start shopping at the Walmart supercenter because it is cheaper. I will go there tonight instead of my beloved Price Chopper (the local grocery chain - which is totally awesome).

Later...
Paula you Like price chopper??? I guess I have issues with our because it is a small one. THere is a larger one in Plattsburgh but it is always so crowed. I have been shopping at hannafords, but they don't have great selection except in the meat department. I looked for a 24 or 36 pack of sliced cheese and they only had 12 packs, with 6 people eating sandwiches that doesn't go far. I do like Walmart super center ( but gee it doesn't have two floors, I will have to make plans to come see it and you can give me the tour! LOL)

Okay, gang, you all need to get the daily Hungry Girl emails. And I finally used her cookbook this weekend and it FAB. Try it. Some sound weird but they are tasty and good for you - and even you can do it, Kat! Lots of low carb stuff.

She has a ton of recipes on her site and, like I said, I love the book. Made myself lunch from it and am making dinner. And you know how I HATE recipes and using books and want to wing it all the time! ;)

K just clicked maybe I can get some inspirational dinner ideas for today

OMG I LOVE IT! I wonder if they have it in PINK like iPOD PINK!:cutie:
I do my walmart shopping at lunch, like just now. No lines, no crowds.

I hate crowds too, in fact we deliberately only do WDW in Sept and Jan for that reason.
I like to shop Wal mart after work at 1100 pm when there is NO one in the store and they are stocking the shelves and heck usually the crew does my shopping for me. I ask where it is and they run and get it! Our wal-mart is open 24 hours :worship:

Ice cream - good. Jack - very good. What more can you want from a night! Im just watching the Oscar Highlights, it was on far too late for me last night - it didn't finish till 6am my time :scared1:

So with 24 are they currant like you get to see it about 6 hours before me? Or are they a week behind? Because if you get to see a new show 6 hours ahead of me I would be so jealous.
Speaking of being jealous my mom just called she is in St. Louis boarding her flight to JAMAICA. She is spend 8 day 7 nights there! So lucky.....

Do you mean to tell me that you don't get the 35 weekly points in addition to your daily? How can that be? What is WW doing over there? :scared1:

Nancy, Steph - who else is WW? Are you as horrified as I am?

Wow, Kelly, I really hand it to you. To survive on 20 a day, all told! WOW. :worship:

Also, tell me the secret of that super low point Chicken Curry!

And, no it doesn't really look like a lot! Barely anything! :thumbsup2
OH MY GAWD ! No I need those extra points! TOTALLY NEED them!

E~ where is the cabin (camp) again? Did any one loose power up there??
Lisa/pr how is it there you are closer to my dad... I called him yesterday but didn't get any answer got the machine so I know he had power!
E~ snow shoeing arcoss a lake yeah couldn't/ wouldn't catch me going across a lake, Frozen or not! I went out on lake champlain ONCE on a sled and when I realized that I was on the lake and not the shore I flipped. FEAR, CONTROL ISSUE! I am NOT in control of the ICE ... if it wants to crack than it will .... sucking me down in the freezing cold water! NOPE not for me! I will go on a boat when the water is warm but you won't catch me out there when there is ice not a foot not a toe!:scared1: !

So today was a busy day for me my only day off this week! I was supposed to go to Jury duty had to change that because Tyler had a dr. appointment in Saranac lake, but an hour before we left they called the RN that does it had the stomach flu and wanted to know if I still wanted to come in, I was LIKE NO THANKS I'LL PASS! So we rescheduled. I will go to Jury duty tomorrow so now my Busy day is now peaceful! Oh is this weird or what my BIL has jury duty we are one # apart and then his wives sister also has it! So he would have been there today with me and his other SIL? Usually they don't pick family member all at the same time? WEIRD
Ok off to search the exercise on demand channel to see what I can do!:scared1:
Oh as for the walking I think I will take my breaks that I normally don't take and start. I usually get in at least 2 miles on nights that I draw blood because I have to go back to the lab in between draws and on a busy night I can easily get those in but they aren't all together, they are spread out over 8 hours, so the other night was just walking no cart to push no stopping just walking.
