In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Okay,

Let me preface that I do like slim/small. But only on bodies that I think should be very slim. I'm all into what bodies were built for. All into that. Ie. I think if a woman is small boned and she's really slim then it looks terrific. No anti small woman here.

But here's what happened. Somehow I walked into a theatre to catch a late afternoon showing of Revolutionary Road. And I somehow read the wrong listing and got "ummm RR isn't here!" Nancy? :lmao: ;) Twins:laughing:  . And all of their movies had started. So I scan my local theatre for RR or The Reader. Nope. The only movie that worked for Jean's bball game (picking me up at a certain time to leave downtown) was He's Just Not That Into You. So I walk downtown through a snowstorm from one theatre to another cause I need cheap theatre cause I'm not seeing a movie I really don't want to see and pay big bucks. So I was in a foul mood because I had movies to see and none of them worked out. Pissed.

It looked smarmy to me. Not good reviews. No interest. So glad I saw it for one reason. Wow. I found Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Connolly's (sp?) bodies, and faces because of the very lean bodies, so hard to look at. So weird. Both attractive woman. But so hard to look at. I don't know I'm into analyzing bodies but it really hit me. Like too much. Too lean. And once again if you're meant to be small you're meant to be small. But both seemed like that wasn't the case.

Ok novel. Done. But a nice moment for me. A la what I want and what I don't want and appreciating size. A clarifying moment for me. I still want to lose but I know where the end is - where my body naturally levels out - fit and llevels out.

You know, I totally agree. I think both of them are too thin for their frames. I remember Jennifer Connelly from Labyrinth (one of my fav movies btw) and how pretty she was then.

I have always wondered why I don't really think that J Aniston is all that, and I think you hit the nail on the head.

Lovely Paula. :lovestruc

Thanks Lisa...
(BTW - for the new folks, if you want to see my neurosis full on, go back and read the earlier chapters. You'll see that I haven't always had this attitude. ;) )

I'm and with you on the new trend of stick figures and lollipop heads that are taking over. The entertainment and marketing industries can certainly screw with our heads about what is pretty and what is not. Somewhere along the way, the bony look became pretty. Personally, I find it gross and unhealthy, but what do I know?

So interesting Kat. There was this what women males love thread on here awhile back. And someone actually said, "My husband adores Jennifer C but not now he always says from way back when she was heavier".

As for Jennifer Aniston - aging leans out all our faces but hers seems so much more from being too lean not age. Courtney Cox always said, "Face or bottom half - at some age point one had to choose".

I guess I'm saying I choose face. :lmao: :rotfl: ;)

And mine has aged for sure no matter what (get it done youngins' - no bounce back at a certain age for some of us). But too lean is not good after a certain age.

As for JA. I remember when Friends just started. It was nice to see ****s and an a$$ on a woman on TV for once. Like that was just her. She seems to have neither now. Really.

Even Drew Barrymore it was like where did her body go?

And all of this was really clear with Scarlett Johansson in the movie. Younger I know but no lean lean.

Nancy - did you google those futuristic fat measurement pods?

I did! They look oddly interesting to me. Very Star Trek. Not one near me that I could find. University of NH, or RI - but both of them are a good 2+ hours away. Oh well.

I'll see if I can find some pictures of it from when it opened. Not sure if I have the guts to go and take pictures of it myself. We'll see.

:lmao: Maybe we'll ask you to go on a covert operation. Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

I would feel totally ridiculous taking pics of an escalator. I'd probably make DD stand there, like I was taking her pic or something. You know, so I didn't look like a complete freak.

Trust me, I haven't always been this way (the thinking positive thing), but this journey that I have been on for the past year and a half has taught me so many things about me and my life. Looking at the positives instead of focusing on the negatives has been one of the biggest lessons I have learned. Now, do I slip back and wallow in the why me category - abso-freakin-lutely I do, but it is not as self absorbing as before. Here's hoping I can stick with it.

I get it. Totally. And thankfully hubby feels the same way :rolleyes1He says: "Women are SUPPOSED to have curves. I wouldn't want to try and cuddle up with THAT boney body"

Ok - so that doesn't give me "license to feed" but at least I know he's not expecting me to be some freakishly thin stick woman

You know what's healthy. And realistic. And normal. I saw on ET or one of those shows the other night a bit about women that some considered to be "too fleshy". OMG. it was insane. IN.SANE. I wish I remembered who specifically they were referring to. Famous models who were now, um? Healthy looking :headache:

And yes I know I'm in no danger of being so lean. :lmao: ;)

:rotfl:

Scarlett looks great in that movie. The curves! The flesh! And she is super skinny, but not yucky. Yes, JA and JC aren't aging well - they need some weight on them.

Lisa, is there a link to this trench? I need a new spring coat!

Lisa Z, I cannot even imagine a Walmart that big! Crazy!

Kat, you will not be fat. Please. And you'll be so much more toned that me. shut it, sweetheart.

Um, lost the rest. Nancy, Paula, Erika...Steph. No idea what I was going to say! Oh!

Ronda - no worries about that C25K...take it slow. That thing kicked my a$$! You are doing far better than I did.

Okay, gang, you all need to get the daily Hungry Girl emails. And I finally used her cookbook this weekend and it FAB. Try it. Some sound weird but they are tasty and good for you - and even you can do it, Kat! Lots of low carb stuff.

http://www.hungry-girl.com/

She has a ton of recipes on her site and, like I said, I love the book. Made myself lunch from it and am making dinner. And you know how I HATE recipes and using books and want to wing it all the time! ;)

When we were visiting my family out in L.A. at Christmas, I saw a 2 story Target that had those shopping cart escalators. They were pretty nifty looking -- but apparently, these stores have issues with (really dumb) people who try to put their strollers on those things. :scared1: Seriously, would you send your child off on an escalator without you? Considering that the carts do occasionally get off center and stuff falls out of them? Craziness.... :sad2:

My grocery store is pretty good (Mars) and it's locally owned which makes me feel good about shopping there. Also, their prices are much more reasonable than the bigger chains (Giant, Safeway, etc). About once a month, we troop over to the Trader Joe's and stock up on "goodies". So I could see a "once in awhile" trip to the Walmart Supercenter, but hopefully during a weekday, because the weekend was just too crazy for me (can you tell I also don't do Black Friday and we're the weirdo family at WDW up and ready for rope drop everyday? Avoidance of crowds at all cost.) :rolleyes1

I do my walmart shopping at lunch, like just now. No lines, no crowds.

I hate crowds too, in fact we deliberately only do WDW in Sept and Jan for that reason.

Liz, thanks.

I have checked out hungry girl in the past, may head over there again...

I love him!!!!

Is that okay? :rotfl: :lmao: ;)

I've said this before but a guy I loved and loved me used to say to me all the time "Lisa you are meant to be that size". I used to think he was insane. But I'm understanding more and more. And that was geez, the last time I saw him, was about 40 pounds ago. So.....lovely. Guys get it. Most, eh?

I know it is insane eh Nancy. I remember Michelle Williams said they were calling her fat at a size four. Holy crap.

I too am going to google those pods cause I have no idea what they are called. :lmao:

Have lots to say to everyone, but have to go up to campus. Comments will have to wait till tonight.

Here are the Week 3 Challenge results. Took a while since I didn't get all of the info. in until yesterday.

Not sure why only some of the grid lines are showing. Whatev. Here it is:

I don't think Jennifer Aniston has aged too well, she looked much better in the earlier Friends episodes - all curves. Now, hmm I think the way my Grandad would describe her is 'Wiry' :rotfl:

Food:

Breakfast - Bran Flakes and Skimmed Milk
Snack - WW red berry bar and an Apple
Lunch - WW Pitta bread with wafer thin ham, low fat mayo and lettuce. WW Yoghurt with Sugar Free Jelly
Snack - 2 Satsumas
Dinner - Chicken Curry (WW recipe) with Jacket Potato

Treat - which im going to eat when 24 starts - WW Chocolate Topped Ice Cream Dessert :cloud9:

I love the term 'Wiry" especially when spoken with that great English accent.

Kelly - Enjoy your chocolate ice cream dessert tonight during your time with Jack!!!!

Kelly, would you mind terribly giving your points values for various foods? I'm really trying to stay on track, and your food choices are totally inspiring me! Do you spread out your weekly points or use them once or twice a week?

Ice cream - good. Jack - very good. What more can you want from a night! Im just watching the Oscar Highlights, it was on far too late for me last night - it didn't finish till 6am my time :scared1:

I don't have a weekly points allowance, the way we work it is daily points - I have 20 points a day. My food for today would work out:

Bran Flakes - 1.5 points
Skimmed Milk (one pint) - 1 point
WW red berry bar - 1.5 points
Apple - 0.5 points
WW Pitta Bread - 1.5 points
Wafer thin ham - 1 point
Lettuce - 0 points
Low Fat Mayo - 1 point
Sugar Free Jelly - 0 points
WW Yoghurt - 1 point
2 Satsumas - 0.5 points
Chicken Curry - 2.5 points
Jacket Potato - 2.5 points
WW Chocolate Dessert - 3.5 points

Total - 18 points

Wow, in a list it looks like a lot of food :rotfl:

That is a lot of food. Of course, I imagine that the serving sizes are small. Aren't all serving sizes?

That's about like Kat's list of food for the day. She can show me what she's eaten for the day and it'll be like long a-- list of food from here to yonder. I read the list and say, "Gee, Kat, that's a large amount of food you've eaten there, the list is a mile long." To which Kat replies, "Golly, gee willikers, I'm still way under my calories for the day *swoon*." :lmao:

Well, that's my interpretation of the conversation with added melodramatic effect for purposes of entertainment, HEHE! :rotfl2:

Do you mean to tell me that you don't get the 35 weekly points in addition to your daily? How can that be? What is WW doing over there? :scared1:

Nancy, Steph - who else is WW? Are you as horrified as I am?

Wow, Kelly, I really hand it to you. To survive on 20 a day, all told! WOW. :worship:

Also, tell me the secret of that super low point Chicken Curry!

And, no it doesn't really look like a lot! Barely anything! :thumbsup2
