In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Steph, it's great that you're the one the kids can talk to. :goodvibes Poor Katie!

Okay, so question of the day! Lisa PR, you better weigh in, okay? Roddy, Kat, Lyz, Erika, Nancy, Kelly, Ronda, Steph, Stacey. Lisa Z, Sunny, Amiee...and anyone I forgot in my post-gym brain fuzz. Amy, you get off, you're on vacation. Paula, you get until Monday because you're away.

For those of us who have been working our plans, what is your go-to breakfast? What do you grab that keeps you going, fits your plan, fills you up, etc?

Every day will be a new question of the day! I have tons! Whee!!!!

Okay, so mine is currently 1/2 cup of Dannon Light and Fit vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup of original Fiber One, and 1/4 cup of Craisins. Yes, I measure it all out each day! It's 2.5 pts, fills me up, is sweet and yummy, has fiber, and calcium. I don't eat it every day, but it's my no-brainer breakfast.

What's yours?

This is going to get me into a lot of trouble. This is probably 'breakfast blasphemy' to everyone here, but my usual breakfast is a large glass of orange juice followed by a large coffee (black, no sugar). :drinking1

I know, I know 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day' and all that bovine excrement, but, I've never been a breakfast eater so BACK OFF!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

1/2 cup of original fiber one and 1/4 of skim milk, with half a packet of sweet n low. 80 cals, and super filling. Sometimes I add in blueberries or raspberries if I have any around. And coffee, of course, that is 100% of the time. Since I just got up, mine is now freshly made, off to get some... :surfweb:

Cheese fries - ick... can't handle them. However, fries with Malt Vinegar.... yummm.... you know, b/c fries don't have enough sodium on their own.

Went to the gym this morning, and i'm noticing (can't remember if i mentioned this on here or not) that i must have some mild nerve damage in my upper jaw from my oral surgery. If i step to hard (power walk, or jog) on a hard surface, i get shooting pains beneath my teeth from one side of my upper jaw to the other. Ouch... now i'm going to have to call my oral surgeon on monday. boo

Was able to do elliptical and bike fine though, so thats a plus.

Question of the day: i admit that i am pathologically unreliable when it comes to breakfast. I'm really not an early morning eater. However, on the days i actually drag myself to the gym, i generally eat oatmeal or a bowl of high fiber cereal. When i was working at losing weight for the wedding last year, i ate 2 egg whites and a slice of wheat toast with peanut butter on it for breakfast everyday, that kept me really full. My stomach is so sensitive i try to stay away from too much dairy in the morning or i feel sick until the early afternoon.

Hope everyone is having a great day, it's chilly here, but bright and sunny! I was so annoyed this morning, i had the puppy tied out in the back yard and was in the kitchen, i walked back to our sliding glass doors to see three obnoxious little girls swinging sticks in my puppy's face. WTH!?!?!? I flew out the door and was like, HELLO? Stop swinging sticks at her. What is there response? "we are bored" GOD where are your parents and why are you in my yard! I love most kids, but the kids in this complex are little demons i swear. They thought it was funny the other day to swing sticks at a little yorkie that got off of it's leash and keep chasing it to the road so it ran out in front of cars...... can't wait til i move! I had to go grab the little dog and find it's home, which i found had a fence, the little girls had opened the fence gate to get the dog out of this random persons yard. ARGH!

1/2 c lowfat organic granola with skim. YUM. Stays with me for a while, too.

Okay, challenge results:

Tracking, including today, 7/7, between 1200-1400 every day (not always the most nutritious choices, but within my cals)
Water, 64+ oz 7/7
Exercise, 225/1500 on minutes, 5/7 (including today which will have 30 day shred in it and maybe some weights).

And weight... I was 179 this morning. So that is a 2.6 lb loss. :)

:woohoo: Heck yeah!!

I'm not only celebrating because of my happiness that Kat is doing so well but also because there's this weird ethereal sibling thing with Kat and myself where if one or the other of us starts losing weight the other does too. It's strange but has been documented. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just finished brunch and mmmm, yummy. I made my own version of chicken-fried chicken, eggs, and pancakes (yes, E, I know, gross, but you might like the pancake recipe!).

For the "chicken-fried chicken", I took 3 oz of chicken breast, dredged it in egg substitute, dusted it with flour and bread crumbs, and pan-fried in cooking spray, then added 1/8 cup country gravy.

Then, decided to try something different with pancakes. Crushed 1/4 cup of regular fiber one (the pellet kind, only kind I buy!), added 1/6 cup heartsmart bisquick, 1 tbsp egg substitute, 2 tbsp skim milk, and a little less then 1/4 cup blueberries. Spooned it into a cooking-sprayed non-stick pan, made 4 small pancakes. I topped it with a few sprays of butter spray and some calorie free blueberry syrup.

Added in one cooking-spray-only fried egg (mmm), and the total on the meal was 360 cals, 8 g fiber, 42g carbs, 9g fat, and 33g protein.

Roddy and I definitely have the documented weight-loss thing going on. We are almost always within about 10 lbs, and this is for the past 7 years!

Just popping in to post a couple of pictures from last week's 5k:

Ok, really dumb question from the vegetarian...

Wouldn't chicken-fried chicken just be, um I don't know, FRIED CHICKEN??? :rotfl2: :lmao:

Wow. *crickets chirping.

Looks like Kat and I killed the board.

Oh that's right, everyone else has lives. :rotfl2:

Oh, no we didn't there's Erika. :rotfl2:

Erika is that your clone? I hope so because my goodness she's the spitting image! :goodvibes

lol, not a dumb question at all. Here's a little help from one of the Southern girls. It's called chicken fried chicken when it is off the bone and fried chicken when it's on the bone.

Chicken-fried chicken also usually is topped with country gravy. Which, to the vegetarian in snooter-ville over there (:snooty:), is a white gravy with sausage.

Breakfast today was a big bowl of oatmeal. Cooked on the stove. Made with skim milk and water with a handful of raisins thrown in at the beginning. That's breakfast #1. Breakfast #2 is a bagel and cream cheese with V8 - all your daily sodium in one sitting! I usually alternate between these during the week. Some weekends I may scramble an egg and make a sandwich or breakfast burrito out of it.

Then I start drinking water...

I may be away, but I am still checking in...

My standard breakfast is one of three JC cereals, a serving of fruit (usually banana or berries), skim milk and a cup of black tea with some sugar in it. I eat that pretty much every weekday. Boring, but yummy and filling.

Roddy and I definitely have the documented weight-loss thing going on. We are almost always within about 10 lbs, and this is for the past 7 years!

Kat - that is just plain freaky. Congrats on the loss!!! That is awesome.

Not much to report tonight. The tournament went well and I didn't kill anyone. With the crowd here, you never know. I didn't get much sleep last night so I am tired and will likely crash by 9:00 tonight. Heading home tomorrow with a few shopping stops along the way. Hopefully, my closet will be a little better stocked by the time I am done.

Off to catch some sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Paula
