In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Dad is doing remarkably well, thanks. I thought he'd be stir crazy by now, but he is in really good spirits. My mom is doing a great job. She has fixed up the bedroom he is in (they can't be in the same room right now, with him being laid up and all) so that it is really comfortable for visitors and he doesn't feel isolated. And the other night she had a dinner party in there! Just one other couple (with whom they are quite close). But she had a nice table set and everything. And just trucked the meal in. Hi lar ious. I asked if anyone was uncomfortable with the arrangements, and she said they must not have been since they stayed till nearly 11. My dad is super social, being a minister and all, so he needs to have people around and so far it seems to be working.

But you want to hear something really funny? My mom. OMG, my mom. She is out of control. There is another tri in November that is exactly the same as the one we just did. And she is TRAINING for it. Since she is not a biker nor a runner, she has been riding 2x/week now. Inside on the stationary bike, but still. And the really, really funny part--last week she was at the pool for a really long time. And I asked her what took her so long (I was sitting with my dad while she was out) and her response? "After I finished with my swim, I stayed and worked on my flip turns for a while." Flip turns! Amazing and hilarious all at the same time!

Kelly--if you want your tiara back (reward for the first challenge), you can copy it from Nancy's signature.

Hey All!!

Love the new bling!!

Erika-Up my minutes to 1500, please!!. I am going to go through to the 7th as well. I found out that weekend is FIL's 70th birthday party. And we will be traveling to NC that weekend, so it is a good goal. No drinks or Muddy Buddy for me.:sad2: Does your cruise leave on mother's day? So cool!! The good news is that DH and I will be able to sneak away by ourselves for a couple nights to a cabin. Sounds like the run went well!! and that is such a fast pace!! :worship:

Liz-Hope you are feeling better soon. No hangover here. But I only drank 5 beers, and 4 of them were light.

Nancy-This is all I have to say :scared1: :scared1: GL with everything this week!

I have been avoiding running. I think I am sort of in mourning of giving up the longer distances for awhile. Not that it means I shouldn't run at all. I need to get back at it though. My run last week was fantastic. I'd like to take at least a few seconds off my PR at my 5K in 2 weeks. My parents and my BFF have kick a$$ TM's so I won't have any excuses not to do it while I am away.

I did do a weight loss pilates DVD yesterday, it had alot of standing pilates with more movement. Didn't feel like anything while I was doing it but this morning I am feeling some leg muscles that I didn't know I had! which is a good thing.

Delena and I are off to the mall in a little while.

Have a good day everyone!

Amy

Good to hear  I'd be a nasty-a$$ b!tch after just one day, I'm sure

There's this saying - don't know if you are at all familiar with it or not - but it goes somethin' like "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree".

Just sayin'.;)

huh. Didn't realize you took yours out. I'm collecting. Hoarding. I want them ALL :goodvibes

Thanks. I'm a glutton for punishment :rolleyes1

Love pilates. :lovestruc Don't do enough of it though. Maybe next time I'll make that one of my challenge goals.

Give the woman a little bling and she acts like she owns the place! :rotfl2: :lmao:

As for the first bling--yeah, it was my plan to collect them ALL and keep them in my signature. But it got too full, so I took that one out. I think I will re-size it and put it back in. Also, I want to add text to the graphics for us, but I just haven't had time. Something simple like, "DisBabes Challenge # 2" or whatever. That way, once we have done several of them, we can really have a whole set in our signatures. Kinda like the Goofy. A set of all 3 medals.

Hi Everyone,

Missed you guys yesterday. Was stuck in a Lincoln Navigator for the better part of the day and no way to connect to the net (can you tell I'm pouting?).

Not much going on around here today. Looks like you all were busy getting your green on. I too did a little celebrating last night (or at least as much as you can when at a corporate function). My body is so paying me back for it today as I am exhausted, slightly hung over and sore from yesterday's workout all at the same time. Oh well, keep moving forward right?

Food wise, I did all right yesterday, but I hit the dessert a little harder than I should have - especially since I was drinking too. Guess I'll have to spend a little extra time on the bike tonight.

I am loving the new bling and will update my signature later tonight when I am home. Still haven't rethought my challenge goal yet, but I'll still with what I have there for now. I may tweak the pounds lost to 8 from 10 though. Not sure yet.

Liz - I forgot to send these yesterday, but definitely was thinking of you and your mom yesterday so here are some hugs to help get you through

Erika - your mom is amazing. I can see where you get your competitive streak from.

BTW - I am nominating Nancy for sainthood for hosting that party. Oy that's a lot of people.

Would love to say more, but need to get back to work. Way to much stuff piled up on my desk at the moment.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

I have sigs turned off (work, and all that), so I never bother to update mine. I appreciate the thought, though! :goodvibes

I had one beer last night, well really two (Foster's Premium Ale in an oil can). It was even in a green can! I tracked and counted it, and still came in around 1200.

Congrats to everyone on making the challenge goals!!

Liz, SOO been there. Hope you feel better soon. McD's is my fav hangover cure (sorry E) but isn't the most diet-friendly...

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great St Patty's day -- and that you're not suffering too much today because of it. :rotfl:

Since St Patty's fell on an aerobics night, I had no choice but to exercise. And I was not too optimistic about how the turnout would be -- hmm, food and green beer or cardio? Well I was shocked -- my class was enormous!! I have no idea where all these folks came from....but it was great! I kicked my own bummocks along with everyone elses. And after that, it didn't seem worth it to go on an eating frenzy. So I went home, ate my dinner, watched tv, and went to bed. No hangover for me, which makes today much more pleasant.

Please add to my challenge goal -- a loss of 4 lbs. I'd like to keep the momentum going. Congrats to everyone!

Ok, this is an official reprimand. Not enough posting!

I just got back from the bank justifying my existance. I hate those meetings.

So. Hung. Over.

I drank like it was my job. Good times.

That sounds like a good night!

:lmao: You have to tell me what you spent 52 points on!

Ok, just for you I dug out my tracker and in the interest of accountability (and to give you a good laugh) here is the day - Oh, it was 55.5 points not 52! :rotfl:

Lyz - you don't need a bank to justify your existance. We know you and love you just the way you are. Besides, aren't you glad you aren't still in that meeting?

Kelly - that must have been a fabulous meal for all of those points!!! I sure hope it was.

Today has turned out to be a pretty craptastic day. I am soooo tired from yesterday that I have been mainling caffeine all day so that I can work. Truly - this is me right now :surfweb: . I still have one meeting and a teleconference to get through and if the gods are on my side a cardio workout. I'll make that call as I am driving home (gym clothes are in the car so I can just stop if I am feeling it). I won't be getting much exercise in this weekend thanks to my trip to Long Island for Odyssey so I want to get in what I can.

I agree with Lyz - where is everyone today? Must be nursing the hair of the dog right...

Let me translate: (thanks google)
Heres where it gets scary! :scared1:
Dinner:
2 Popadums - 3 points

The papadum (for alternative names see box) is a thin South Asian wafer, sometimes described as a cracker or flatbread.

Chicken Korma - 21 points!

"This is an Indian chicken recipe my mom makes. I love it! Serve with rice or naan bread."

Mushroom Pilau Rice - 8 points

Self Explainatory.

Garlic Naan Bread - 8 points

"This recipe makes the best naan I have tasted outside of an Indian restaurant. I can't make enough of it for my family. I serve it with shish kabobs, but I think they would eat it plain."

Galaxy Caramel chocolate bar - 5 points

Mmm. So fried spicy chicken, lots of bread product, rounded out with a healthy dose of chocolate and caramel. Yum.

Lyz - you don't need a bank to justify your existance. We know you and love you just the way you are.

 Paula - I'll tell em at the bank. "Well the Disbabes like me!"

Kelly - that must have been a fabulous meal for all of those points!!! I sure hope it was.

Looks pretty good to me.

Paula - sorry the goal is just to get thru the day.

Quick drive by. Piano lessons, dinner, homework--the usual afternoon craziness.

Kelly--I love, love, love Indian food. It is likely my favorite ethnic fare. But I had NO idea it was so high in points. Of course, the fact that is is usually swimming in cream sauce should have tipped me off. :rolleyes1

Ok, more later. Paula--hugs!

Nancy--channeled you today and rode 20 miles. My a$$ is killing me, though ! :rotfl:

Lisa Z - you're a fitness instructor? How did I not know this? Did you tell us and I blanked out? What classes do you teach? Sorry if you've been through this already.

Lyz, I love the food breakdown! Kelly Translated! I love Indian food. Love it. Hmm, maybe I will do Indian for dinner! You think that's good for hangovers? Not the creamy stuff, though, I swear! Just the nice, tandoori stuff. No sauces.

Kat, I did get Mickey D's for lunch. Reasonable and sensible-ish. Nothing works on hangovers like that stuff.

The kiddos are being sooo good today. Watching movies about puppies and playing puppy and not jumping on me at all. I play with them usually but today they are letting me alone. God Bless their little, tiny hearts.

LisaZ!! Totally not a threadkiller. We have just been lame-o on posting lately.

For me personally, just been tired. I haven't been sleeping well, I think thanks to taking allergy meds before bed (BAD idea) instead of earlier in the day. Wipes me out and I just don't have energy to type.

Liz, word on the Mickey-D's. Mmm.

I am not an Indian food fan, but loved the Kelly food translator.
