In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

OMG what a day! Sorry I have been MIA but Karen is right now in my guest suite. Called crying and asked if she could stay here. Of course she is welcome. BUT...she needs to talk (understandable) but this is also when I work.

So...behind again...

Paula - You have come so far. You can do this. You can keep going. We are always supporting you even if you don't chat with us - the little voices in your head telling you that you're doing great.

Enjoy your friend, and yes, like Erika said, ask for support. You might be surprised!

I will be rooting for you!

OK - when I woke up this morning, I was thinking I may ditch my JC appointment in order to finish cleaning and prepping for my friend's visit. By the end of the day, I decided to go and get the motivation I needed to get through the week. I feel a little better about things, but I am still not quite there. The good news is that I lost 1.5 pounds this past week, but the great news is that I stayed on plan today with the exception of two mini reese's cups. I am shooting to stay on plan again tomorrow and will be faced with my first dinner out. I'll try to check in as the week goes on, but I am not guaranteeing that at this point.

E - good luck with Karen. I hope things get better for her soon.... Greenie or not, she is your friend and deserves to be happy...

Liz - I was hoping to sign on to AIM tonight, but I am working off of my work laptop tonight (my home machine is in the shop this week) and I don't want to download AIM to this machine.... Once I get my personal computer back, I'll be on and chatting....

Talk to you all in the morning,
Paula

good morning everyone.... its time to get up... of course if you are like me, you are very bleary eyed and tired from watching the Olympic coverage. Someone really ought to tell NBC to not hold all of the good stuff until midnight so that they can show it live.... it is wreaking havoc with my sleep patterns....

I am feeling a bit better this morning than I did yesterday. Much more in control, but still not quite at my best but I am getting there. I am hoping that my friend's visit and some time away from work will help me relax a bit and if I am lucky reboot my mental state back to its normal, non angst ridden self.

Thanks again to everyone who offered a kind word or thought. I don't know what I would do without you all...

Have a great day everyone...

Paula

Morning all. I am on almost no sleep and I am going to try and go for a run, but I am not hopeful for a successful one.

Karen left this morning and we made a plan so that she can stay in her house for the next week while her partner is away (and I can get back on my schedule!).

Ok, wish me luck on this run...

Should be around later in the morning.

hey all - I am up and feeling okay...Paula - yesterday and my advise was as much a self-affirmation as it was a plea to you to love yourself through the hard times too...

Kat - I am with you on sometimes just needing a hug...

Lyz - Thanks for noticing I am back - had to just get over the fact that I am never posting alone...and I really could give a rats @ss anymore...plus - who can change their life without great friends...

E - hope your friend is better

Astro...as far as bad choices on the run - Dan is the man to talk to 0 he travels a lot...usually gains when gone...and knows it can be accomplished on the flip side..but it sucks when you have no stove...you may not hit 12 pounds before your trip - but you are in better shape than before...and success is not a number...it is a belief within yourself and an acknowledgement that you are better than yesterday...because even if you do not like a choice - you are concious of that and at one point you were not - progress comes in all forms...

WW did have me at a loss...it showed 7 pounds lost...with clothes and food for the day...but this morning....246.6...so I am sticking to weighing every morning neked and liking that number much better! And guess what...my darn ticker is gonna move each day there is a drop...cause I need a visual...

If divorce was going to help like this...I would have done it ages ago!:lmao:

Okay...BTW...

Treyner is playing soccer as goalie and football as a kicker/punter...so he has been having 4 a days practice for 2 weeks now..the kid is a machine...kicked a 55 yard field goal last week...the last time he kicked for football...anyone have contact with the NFL? Maybe Treyner will be treating all of us to a trip next year! :thumbsup2 And....I don't think I said this an am remembering to post it...he was asked by Hollister last week to go in and have a modeling shoot to send to corporate...to possibly use him for a catalog/advertising campaign...he knows nothing about it...I was in Florida and so that is my quest today to find out exactly what it involves...typical teenage boy - asks no questions...ugh!

Carsyn and I are going to the YMCA today - we are going to schedule a bladder surgery for her in Oct. which she needed without being in sports so maybe this was a good decesion...she has been working out...Her birthday is in a week and she is still deciding what to do...she knows mine is Sat...and offered to have her and 2 friends go with me to the State Fair...cause that is exactly what I would want to do...hang out with 3 teenage girls on my birthday instead of my 3 kids...she is such a giver! :confused3 :rotfl:

Baylor is going out with a new girl...Mallory...I asked how they ended up going out and he said he was not sure...he was informed by one of her friends and that is it...I said "Like an arranged marriage in India?" he just looked at me while I was laughing like I had a 3rd head...:rotfl2:

At WW last night they talked over the points of state fair foods and that my friends was depressing...

I'll be on later...off to work...

Hey all!

I am going to run this evening instead. I went to my mom's house to drop the kids off so I could run, and I ended up taking a nap! And I NEVER nap, so you know it was bad.

DAWN--so glad that WW seems to be working for you! WOO HOO!

I will update challenge stuff later tonight, so everyone send me your stuff!

PAULA--way to go with the loss! Keep going. Don't let the loss go this week. Stay with it! I know you can! I just KNOW it.

As for the friend, open up to him! I am going to find one of your old posts where you were upset about using the weight as a way to wall yourself off from others. Remember those posts? Well, here is your chance! You have lost a significant amount of weight, you are getting your act together on every level, and you are ready to reach out to others. You may not think you are ready, but you ARE. You are just used to life behind that wall. Come on out...you are awesome! We all know it and clearly this friend does as well.

LIZ--rock on with The Boss! I have lots of him on my iPod. And OMG, I can smell the chocolate from here. I love how the whole place smells like chocolate.

LYZ--stop thinking about the chocolate I just mentioned! :lmao: Seriously, I am SO super proud of hard you are working and that you are making time to get on the dreadmill every day! Send me new results so I can update you for the challenge.

DEB--go back to tracking! You know it works. (Yes, people, I realize the irony of ME telling someone else to track...:rotfl2: )

KAT--feel like I haven't hung out with you in ages. Hope we can catch up soon!

NANCY--um, it is TUESDAY....I'm just sayin'.

STEPH--are you in Maine? Hello, I need to know this info!

/
Hey guys! Sorry i've been MIA. Puppy is finally settled in enough to not start shaking everytime someone walks in the room, and my house is thoroughly littered with puppy toys and chew bones. So time to start posting again!

Computer crashed Sunday, that sucked. I'm horrible about backing things up, all my addresses and my budget etc were on my desktop, had to completely uninstall and reinstall windows b/c something got corrupted so i'm told. Still trying to rebuild. Sheesh

I need to really push myself to get back on track, i had done so well up to the wedding, i was actually 18 lbs down on my wedding day, now i'm back to only 10, i haven't been eating right or working out regularly, i need to get my @ss in gear.

Bruce had an esophageal scope done today, he's been having trouble/pain swallowing etc when he eats and they found damage from GERD and now he has to drop a lot of the same stuff i had to when i was diagnosed with my IBS & GERD (chocolate, caffeine, tomato based sauces, spicy food, alcohol, fried food etc.) So hopefully that will help.

Congrats on everyone that has been losing and working toward your goal with the challenge, hope to join in next time. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi gals!

Gained 2 lbs last week. Then lost it this weekend, thank goodness.

Whew!

But now I'm kicking myself - if I hadn't given in to real cokes, chocolate cake, and the cookie in the box lunch, and wrong serving sizes. By the time it's time to eat according to Tucson time I'm beyond starving, make bad choices, and eat too much. The time change really caught me this time. I got home and Saturday morning could barely do a 3 mile bike ride I was so tired. Sunday I didn't even try. And my loving DH made brownies yesterday. Which I love, and can't resist, and don't need. I'm off my goal - will not hit a 12 lb loss by the time we go to WDW Sept 4. I'l be lucky to get 5 by that time, since it's back to Tucson next week for 3 days.

I find it hard to be on target when my routine is messed up too. You say, but on Monday...and it really screws with you. Did you bike today?

OMG what a day! Sorry I have been MIA but Karen is right now in my guest suite. Called crying and asked if she could stay here. Of course she is welcome. BUT...she needs to talk (understandable) but this is also when I work.

So...behind again...

E - thats very generous of you. Very.

WW did have me at a loss...it showed 7 pounds lost...with clothes and food for the day...but this morning....246.6...so I am sticking to weighing every morning neked and liking that number much better! And guess what...my darn ticker is gonna move each day there is a drop...cause I need a visual...

:rotfl: Sounds like ww is liking you. Keep at it!!!

Okay...BTW...

Treyner...

Carsyn ...

Baylor...

Funny.

Your birthday is Saturday!!! Woohoo. Which one?

At WW last night they talked over the points of state fair foods and that my friends was depressing...

That is depressing.

Hey all!

I am going to run this evening instead. I went to my mom's house to drop the kids off so I could run, and I ended up taking a nap! And I NEVER nap, so you know it was bad.

I guess so!

I will update challenge stuff later tonight, so everyone send me your stuff!

I was only down three ounces on Sat.

LYZ--stop thinking about the chocolate I just mentioned!

Chocolate. Someone say CHOCOLATE!!!

:lmao: Seriously, I am SO super proud of hard you are working and that you are making time to get on the dreadmill every day! Send me new results so I can update you for the challenge.

I have to be honest here E. I haven't been on the dreadmill since last week. I made an honest effort yesterday and today, but I've been busier than normal, trying to set up a job site in Texas.

STEPH--are you in Maine? Hello, I need to know this info!

I think today was her long drive home with the kids. And she is supposed to be drunk by now.:lmao:

I need to really push myself to get back on track, i had done so well up to the wedding, i was actually 18 lbs down on my wedding day, now i'm back to only 10, i haven't been eating right or working out regularly, i need to get my @ss in gear.

Comon Stacey. 18lbs! You obviously can do it. Time is only marching by. Do something now, the holidays are coming. You could lose the eight lbs and more by then and enjoy all the pictures.

My girls are going to school tomorrow. I've been waiting 5 years for this. :yay:  :worship: :dance3: :woohoo: :wizard: :cheer2: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :hippie: I am ready to start a real routine. Girls on the bus at 7:20. Me, dreadmill, shower, work by nine. Beautiful.

Oh my...the first day of school! We still have two more weeks. (Which is fine, since I am not at all ready for them to go back yet.)

But...wow, big year! Is Maddi excited? We will need first day of school pics. I love those! I do them every year. Do you have all day K there or is it just half? Yeah, the routine thing will be HUGE for your workouts! I need to hear more about TX. E-me with that scoop.

DEB--go back to tracking! You know it works. (Yes, people, I realize the irony of ME telling someone else to track...:rotfl2: )

I find it hard to be on target when my routine is messed up too. You say, but on Monday...and it really screws with you. Did you bike today?

I tracked ...some... today what I ate. Until dinner. Kaitlyn melted at 7pm. She turned into a scary thing. It took until 8 to get her somewhat cleaned up, finish taking away priveledges, and leave her alone, mostly calmed down, in her room for the night. I didn't get dinner until after that debacle, so was starving and ate all of my takeout Chipotles. YUM! I was supposed to save half...

No bike riding the past few days. That not-quite-hurricane Fay has been making it rain morning and night since early Monday. Monday morning I woke up to a great big thunderstorm cell practically on top of the house. And sheeting rain in the afternoon. This morning I woke up the storm siren and more rain. Tonight, see above. By the time I finished it was dark. Feels like the weather's clearing out, though, I saw sun between the feeder bands today.

The hurricane may have missed us by 100 miles, but the storm band was about 150 miles. Nice and wet.

Thanks for the help - I need it! :goodvibes As I told Kaityn several times tonight, "today wasn't great, hope tomorrow's a better day"

Deb

STEPH--are you in Maine? Hello, I need to know this info!

At 1:00 I could have been in Maine I could have Been in NH... Not sure it was a LONG RIDE. But I was in Kennebunkport for a few minutes on Sunday! I did not get off the highway but I did pass through. Though If i had E~ number I could call her! I got to my dads without any problems I went with no directions and only the one trip under my belt and I did GREAT got right to his house with only one missed turn and I knew it right off. We spent Sunday sitting around his house playing badminton I busted butt... I had to to work off all the good stuff from the night before!
So here is a run down on my weekend.....
Friday night sat here for an hour waiting for sam's friend to come she never showed so I left to go get Steph and the kids at his moms. Get home and Friend comes over, I send them to bed Yeah right to the computer. Steph and I watch swingtown of course and tell the girls BED 7 am wake up call. Steph and I get up at 645 and I start getting things ready bags are packed just need the bathroom stuff! 715 wake girls and tell them to move it!:lmao:
Wake the boys (of course they sleep in, this is not NORMAL) We leave at 745 this is great for me I can never manage to leave until after 10 am. By the time we get gas and drinks and everything else and make it to VT to get on the interstate it is 845. We stopped a few times for bathroom breaks and zac's sugar was LOW. Eat child!:rotfl2: We get to my brothers at one to head to a graduation party that started at 1. But between my brother and I we figured that it is our family so that means it is running about a half hour behind schedule and then it is being hosted by a cousin so that makes the party starting at 2. We got there promptly at two and I guess everyone was shocked that I was there because I got OMG you drove all the way down for this... UMMM YEAH! SO we had a blast I got to see three aunts and the Two uncles, cousins and My cousin's wife is in WDW right now and I mentioned that we are going in the fall next year and I tried to sell them on going.. It may have worked! Drank a few rita's and then dined on wings and BBQ chicken and little bit of potato salad. I thiough gee not much here in the way of food then out came the cooler which was loaded with LOBSTERS!!! Hello I knew this was my kind of party! The kids played in the pool and jumper all day. I think we stayed till around 10. We checked into the hotel and went for Pizza but they closed about 2 mins before we got there. THEY SUCK they wouldn't serve us! So back to the hotel, Only to have an encounter with a larger colored man claiming that our room was his and I simple walked in and said there is nothing in this room sir you must have the wrong room, mind you it was just me and the girls... I slammed the door and waited for stephen. Woke up the next am and headed for the continental breakfast NO ROOM IN THE DINING room so off to Dunkin Dounuts, of course 6 people they screw up the order. Finally off at 10 to head for maine. I get there and have a great day! Monday we went to the Union Fair??? I guess it is a big thing! It was cool Lyz thought of you when I saw all the Pigs and sheep (nancy) I never realized how many male animals go to the fair I saw HUGE balls all over!(the barns) Kids rode the rides and then it seemed like an eternity to get back to my dads and we finally ate dinner at 930. Kids finally went to bed at 12. I had to get up this am and pack and of course when it was time to pack the car it POURED! I got to meet my dad's GF's daughter we email every now and again and guess what her name is ERIKA! with the K and all! she lived in Topsham. so I headed out on my trip home and realized that went I got to route 2 in maine that it is where princessrunner lives Hello Lisa! So in two days I went through two towns where fellow Dis friends live and didn't get to see a one!
So on our trip home stephen started talking about Disney and Mikalya says that she has never been so to make this long LONG story short I may have an extra on our next trip! DEAR GOD HELP ME!!!! No she was great she is a good kid she studies hard and plays sports in fact she missed four days of soccer practice to come on our trip! It was great not to have sam complain that she was bored just wish that she could stop yelling:headache: at me all the time ... maybe a week without her phone and the computer with help fix that.. LYZ weigh in here! I did not need to drink the kids were absolutely great all the ride! Mikayla even gave me a huge hug and said thanks ... hhhmmm take notes my darling daughter!:rolleyes1 then she said Think about bringing me to DIsney!!!
So there is my weekend in a NUTSHELL!
I may have some types of Pictures! I will post tonight!

It was cool Lyz thought of you when I saw all the Pigs and sheep (nancy) I never realized how many male animals go to the fair I saw HUGE balls all over!(the barns)

Steph - sounds like a great time. Visiting family and having a good time.

Our fair pigs do not have balls.:confused3 Must be a Maine thing.

Who knew EriKa had another life.:rotfl: (That doesn't suprise me one bit.)

Yes, I take "privelidges" away quite frequently. Molli spends most of the year without the telly. (TV for you Americans) We go from report card to report card on that one. Not exactly sure if it's working, but I gotta do something. KWIM?

Ok, off to the dreadmill.

And I have to say, I HATE THOSE %&*$ Fiber One bars. They are good, but so not worth the gas. I ate one last night, out of my desire not to eat cookie crisp cereal. And I AM PAYING.

Yeah for the dreadmill! I myself got on the bike in the pitch dark this morning and rode for 5 miles. My legs are not pleased right now. The ride was good, coming back to a 6yo who 'forgot' how to zip her skirt, not so much.

DH and I have different opinions on taking stuff away. At one point he said "when you come downstairs in the morning you're going to have no toys left". I take things away 1 at a time. After 3 things she usually gets it and stops. Last night, however, I took every book in her bedroom away. From the Disney Fairies book she's currently reading all the way down to Goodnight Moon. I left the books downstairs alone. DH disagreed - he doesn't believe in taking books away. Ummm, she's getting into trouble with the books - by turning the light back on and reading for hours past bedtime. She's a huge reader, so it's not like losing the books for a few days is going to make her stop reading. There's still 2 shelves of books downstairs, it's just the ones in her bedroom (her favorites) that are on lockdown. I compromised, and the bedroom books are relocated downstairs and just not allowed upstairs. Until I get sick of them on the floor.

I Love Fiber One bars! Chocolate Oats! No side effects here, guess I'm lucky.

AS for taking things away... Sam has Lost her entire world for a whole term because of grades meaning no computer no phone and no tv... hasn't work only because Stephen is such a softy when it comes to punishments. Oh wait that is only my punishments if he takes something away then it is another story. So the only time it work is for the no computer cuz I delete all her time and she can't log on... until dad gives her his password to log on. I should put him on parental controls too!:rotfl2:
So right now she has lost computer privileges for not picking up her room and putting away clean clothes (they are in a hamper shoved down all wrinkled, which they will end up in the wash again) Then she lost phone privileges for being mouthy with me at my dad's telling me to shut up and to leave her alone... that she could do what she wanted. So I have phone and have had it since Monday night.

E~~ WHERE ARE YOU???

So I have to work tonight YUCK! Then I have tomorrow night off! Ty has his kindergarten picnic to attend. He gets to go find out who his teacher is and play with kids that are entering kindergarten, the PTO host a BBQ. Then it is work every night till monday! So long vacation!:sad1: :sad2:
Off to go do :laundy: .

Even if it's books, you have to take away their "currency." I think that sounds like a good plan. Read downstairs. Bedtime for sleep.

I wish I had to take books from Molli. The cell phone is the "biggie" here too Steph. That's losing the social connection:eek: .

E - Maddi was excited to go to school. I will post a pic tonight.

I am here...just beyond exhausted. This thing with Karen is out of control. I am really trying to be a good friend. I can only imagine how hard this is for her. But she is either here in my house or on the phone virtually all the time.

She didn't stay here last night, but she called at 6, 7, 8, 9:30, 10:30, and 1 am. Then, she called again at 5:45 AM. And every time she is crying so hard that she can't even speak. I just can't do this full time, you know?

So today I will have to find a way to set some boundaries. Fortunately, I finally talked her into telling her parents what was going on (and she is very close with them) so now at least she has someone else to talk with about this other than me.

More in a sec...
