In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Hi guys....I am here and reading...just swamped tonight. Tomorrow should be much better.

:rotfl2: Stephanie!

EriKa - we share same taste in skirts but not music? You don't enjoy the long haired bands of the late 80's/early 90's? Those where your glory days. Who were you listening to? Other than your suedo/boyfriend the tennis pro:rotfl: ?

I was just having fun. I can listen to AS or GNR with the best of 'em (though they aren't my first choice...every once in a while I revert to my 80s roots!). Yes, those were my crazy days!

I am pretty flexible. I will listen to just about anything...except COUNTRY (put a bullet in my head now, thank you). I also won't listen to New Age Yanni-type crap. My tastes actually run more to the 70s...the true age of rock. Allman Brothers anyone? Van Morrison, Clapton is always good (old stuff when he was with Derek & the Dominos, Cream, as well as the recent stuff), The Who, Grateful Dead, too. Jimmy BUffett is always good and fun and is my usual go-to music. I also like even older music...grew up on MoTown thanks to my parents and still love it today. For more modern music I like DMB, Assembly of Dust, Once Blue.

And thanks to the kids, I can sing Hannah Montana, HSM, and the Jonas Brothers like a rock star! :rotfl2:

Okay, I am so sorry but I have been crazy busy!!! so I have to go through and reply to all of you one by one, but just quickies...

Lyz, I know exactly what you mean about casual-put-together and I am totally onboard with your music choices.

Paula, I am so proud of you for the refocusing - you handle so much stuff so well - work, family, etc.

Stephanie - Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Okay, Bon Jovi is HOT! Cheesy but hot - I call him a jalapeno cheese ball. Get it? And before he defected for Soho he lived in my town - I guess technically he still does. Big a$$ house on the water, gives lots of money to the food bank. We love him in this part of Jersey.

And Sebastian Bach likes to get drunk and disorderly at the restaurant/bar right by my house - like stumbling home distance. It's apparently hilarious, and it's not the kind of place you imagine anyone getting drunk at - very staid dark wood ye olde Colonial looking. Nick and I always talk about hanging out there, just to try to see him, but I think they might have banned him Sigh.

Okay, going back to work and then through this thread with a fine tooth comb!

Everymoring around our house the country video's are on while the kids are getting off to school. But when my car radio is on I mix it up with my XM radio. Little of everything....

Yesterday was a good eating day, I even went to the gym around 8:45pm and was the very last person to leave at 10. Got my eliptic in and my weights.
This morning I did about 10 mins of stretching and then 50 situps before I ate. Was reading in a Mag's on the 9 ways of fat burning all day. The little tricks to keep your body going. Thought I would try a few.

Today is gorgous out side, the girls and I are picking rocks in our field then mowing and I have a few plants to finish getting in the ground, plus my pumkins, got the get them started. We have had rain for so long it has been impossible to get anything done. Don't think I would like the heat some of you have been getting either.

Oh have an update on house we have put on the market. They finally got all there stuff out on Sunday night, not the 31st of May like they said. The realitor called and said the kitchen floor has be replaced do to holes, it was under the rugs and all the carpet except the bedrooms have to go. All the carpets, this house is huge 4 floors, plus steps. She said they smelt like pee (3 dogs, 3 cats) and are really stained around alot of places. Guess who gets to replace all of this? The doorknobs who said yes to helping them out! ::yes:: yes that would be us.... Hopefully they are going to come through with the microwave above the stove they promised. I suffer from headaches everyday and the call we got yesterday to replace this stuff just about put me over the edge.....CAN I STRANGLE MYSELF!!:furious:

Well, I can not strangle myself right now the girls are calling me to come outside they are ready to start.

Have a good day all....:)

Jodi

Hey everyone!

LIZ--glad to see you here! We miss you when you get crazy busy like that! E-mail will on the way shortly.

JODI--holy cow! I just noticed that you are almost at 40 pounds lost! YOU ARE A ROCK STAR!!! WOW! Just incredible! And for that, I am willing to ignore your love of country music! :rotfl2:

NANCY--come back! Your life needs you (and so do we!)

So far, a great day! I started my run this morning and immediately thought "uh-oh. There is no way I am going to make it today..." But I kept at...had the Nancy fight in my head...and not only got through today's scheduled run, but then picked up the mile that I didn't do yesterday. So I am feeling really good about that. After my run I did a good 40-minute work-out (including core).

And YES....I am tracking my food so far. Does it get easier? I swear, I just hate it. :furious: (Told ya I would moan and groan and whine and complain the whole time.) But I did all of it yesterday and it kept me honest, so that is good.

After my workout, I FINALLY went and picked up my new bike! I am so excited. Of course, it is hiding in my parents' garage....but I will get to take it out tomorrow since that is an off day from running. Since Jeff will be gone for Father's Day (Singapore), we will celebrate on Thursday night. Then I won't have to hide everything anymore!

Ok, have to actually do some work now...

Ok, have to actually do some work now...

I'm here...still doing quick stops, but trying like heck to keep up...

Kids got out of school early again today due to extreme heat - we just aren't set up for that in our schools - only the offices, library/media centers have a/c. Classrooms are like OVENS. I want to get out and try my clip-shoes on my bike, but it's too darned hot right now. My driveway is on a hill, so I need to GO somewhere (and not alone - I want someone to CATCH me before I fall over! ::yes:: )....

I had DS at the orthopedic this morning for a chronic, nagging, non-descript back ache. Pretty much we had chalked it up to the fact that he has grown so much, so fast in the last 18 months or so - bones grown, muscles, etc need to catch up...Peditrician has seen him several times, he's seen a chiropractor, but nothing really seems to make it "better"....yeah - so about that. Orthopedic DR did some initial analysis, sent us down the hall for an x-ray, reviewed....and, well...we get to go for a CAT scan tomorrow. Seems he has a crack in the L4/L5 area of his vertebrea (sp?). Nothing catastrophic...but must be "dealt with". Depending on how "new" that crack is will determine course of treatment. Yipee. Can you say "happy summer"???

Anywho...it's 5000* out, and humid to boot. There's a tornado warning (or watch? whichever is LESS intense...) for the county right next to mine until 6:00 tonight - and DS17 is out "fluffing" the hay as I type so that we can get it baled (hopefully) before t-storms rain on it....bah.

Oh - and I had a "security breach" out in my barn today. 5 of our little darling's decided to make a break for it - and were roaming around to their little hearts content....had to give them a stern "talking to" ;) and put them back in the pasture...

I need my OLD life back...this one is WAY too stressful. ::yes::

(btw...I'm UP about 2 pounds....gotta get myself on that bike)

Hi, trying to catch up on posts.

Erika-Way to get in that extra mile. Have fun with the bikes. Great Father's Day gift. Sorry Jeff will be gone. On the plus side you don't have to wait to surprise him.

If Heart's Were Built Like John Deere Tractors, it be happy ever after. I love country, most of it. Love Sawyer Brown. Sorry E. Love Bon Jovi too. Jimmy Buffet is a mainstay, got the parent trap cd down thanks to Catie. Bobby Darin makes his appearances. The kiddos sing along to him in the car. We (Cevin) make sure they are off to bed and asleep by a quarter to nine. Our time! There is this line in one of his songs that says "these arms are going to tenderly twine, around you, a quarter to nine". I've got thr rock, and remember a ways back I confessed I listen to some Christmas songs to motivate me for this years Christmas.

Snow- It is freezing here, Last b-ball game was last night, too cold. Snowing on our passes. school picnic today, thank goodness Cev said take the gym, or we'd have been outside in 40 degrees. sorry about the back crack. Take care in the heat. Watching the news with all the flooding and heat I've been saying prayers. That house they keep showing from Wis. being washed away.

Miss Sept.- give us a brief after your done combing.

No MoJo here, our Mariners lost it.

Hello all, keep up the workouts, focus on fitness. I am so proud of everyone.

:flower3:

/
Erika, yes, it does get easier. And it is SO important. I am glad that you have finally joined us!!

Nancy, sorry to hear about your DS.

Jodi, holy crap. I am sooo sorry that you guys have to deal with this.

This thread has gotten very quiet lately... granted, I am not adding to it much either. Hope everyone is just busy w/ end-of-school-year and start of summer...

I think that I have been overtraining and undereating. I am already at over 600 minutes for the month, and have barely made it over 1000 calories some days. I was so tired today that I left work at 4PM, came home, and took a 2 hour nap. I think that I need to start taking better care of myself.

Hey, I did skip my workout today because I went to the gym at lunch, changed into workout clothes, and realized I had no gym shoes. Crap. Had to change back into work clothes and go back to work. Yes, I am an idiot.

Nancy--sorry to hear about your son's back! Yikes! Sounds scary--keep us posted!

And...:rotfl2: at Fat Bottom Girls...I have that on my iPod and it is my go-to song when I am really thinking about quitting my run early! :rotfl:

Kat...was is this over-training thing? There is no such thing! :lmao: Seriously, if you are that tired, you are not getting enough fuel....likely both protein and carbs are needed. Take care of your whole self (says she who only gets 5 hours of sleep a night....:rolleyes1 )

Liz and Lyz....where are you girls?

Derek and the Dominos:rotfl2: That is too good to be true!

Hi All. I'm here. I've had a busy day. For starters I woke up early and actually got up. When hubby was done in the bathroom, I was sitting on the bed folding clothes. He about fell over from shock. And my day has been going strong ever since. This is what happens when I actually work. I miss the dirt here.

EriKa, still the queen of exercising I see. Yes, I know the Hannah Montana songs by heart myself. Maddi 5 LOVES her, Molli 12, likes her, but has to act like she doesn't.

Liz - I knew you'd understand. We are soal sista's. Fashion and music. Sebestian Bach, that's totally funny. Can't believe you've just "talked" about hanging out there.

Jodi - yes. Tell me when to send you my address for raspberry jam. Picking rocks in the field. Pumpkins. :worship: Sounds like your really in a healthier state of mind and body. Good for you!

CHBC - SNOW! Sheesh! Send some my way.

Nancy - yes. We had horrible tornado warnings last week. Right before all the flooding. And it is soooo hot here to. I can see why they are letting the kiddo's out if the classes aren't ac'd. The story about the goats was hi lar ious. Sounds like your world is CRAZY right now. I think summer is like that for people. It either ratchets up to high or sinks to "ahhhhhh".

I'm jelous of those of you who live on the water. That just sounds delicious.

Kat - no shoes! That's a bunch of bull. And yeah, sounds like you're exhausted. Maybe you need another vayK.

Paula - congrats on the minimal gain. I know the relief of only gaining a wee bit.

Stephanie - awfully quiet. Are you at the zoo?

Vicki - are you still reading?

Dawn - :wave2:

Maddi's last day of preschool is tomorrow, so we are making cards tonight. Yes it's after 10 and my daughter is not in bed yet. This is how I roll.

Talk to ya'll in the mornin'.

Hi EriKa, I must have been writing as you posted! Oh yeah, Nancy, Yikes about your sons back. Scary.

Hi everyone...

I admit it, I was pretty much a lump on the couch tonight. No walking done, but not much snacking either. It was plain too hot and I was too tired. The AC unit in our office bit the dust and the average temp in our office was a balmy 95 for the past two days. Needless to say the only thing I really want to eat or drink right now is cold water. I came home from work and pretty much collapsed on the couch and fell asleep.

Thankfully, the cold front came through tonight so tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid 80's with significantly less humidity. I had the computer off for most of the night due to the storms that were passing through. I think my area got off easy, but the folks north of us may not have been so lucky.

Hang in there everyone - tomorrow will be a better day!!!

Goof

Steph was telling me about her 32 1st graders field trip last night... sounds more like taking a zoo than going to one. She is probably exhausted!

Lyz, I am scared. Up and folding!! I hate laundry w/ every fiber of my being.

Erika, I ate a lot for dinner, chicken and a baked potato and broccoli, and with that and the nap I feel a lot better. I may also be fighting something, my throat is a bit scratchy.

Oh and btw, so far so good on the home life. Maybe it really does take a kick in the seat.

Derek and the Dominos:rotfl2: That is too good to be true!

Hey--it is STILL Clapton! It's classic rock, babe!

CHBC - SNOW! Sheesh! Send some my way.

Silly Lyz....she was talking TO Snow (Nancy)! :rotfl2:

I'm jelous of those of you who live on the water. That just sounds delicious.

OMG, we have been either to the beach or the pool every day possible. Tomorrow is a half day for the kids, so we get extra pool time! They are each bringing a friend...which means I will have 6 kids for the afternoon! :scared1:

Hi EriKa, I must have been writing as you posted! Oh yeah, Nancy, Yikes about your sons back. Scary.

Yeah, that is how we roll in the summer. One more week to go. We get out June 17th....everyone else in the county gets out on the 24th.

Okay, I have to declare thread bankruptcy! I have read all the posts, but i will be here forever if I reply to all of them. :( Sorry!!!

It's been a busy few days. I have actually had to WORK, the horror! The shock! And I have been out at night, so no nighttime posting for me. But today it should go back to normal, even though I still have lots of work to do. Where did it all come from??? Don't they know it was 100 degrees here and I should have been at the beach?

Emily is done with preschool, so juggling work and kid has been a little more work than normal. I have this recent pic of her that I think is so cute, i have to share it. You can see that she has already inherited my love of shoes.

Okay, off to work and weigh in! Thinking of all of you!

Kids got out of school early again today due to extreme heat - we just aren't set up for that in our schools - only the offices, library/media centers have a/c. Classrooms are like OVENS.
Ours are like that too and they won't dismiss the kids! Yesterday they were letting the kids go with out any after school activities because of tornado warnings, heck they even let me take DH's ex's son! That is a big NO NO!

Keep us updated on that He must be in so much pain poor kid!

WE HAD THE TORNADO WARNING HERE! They had all the kids staying inside the classrooms and then decided to cancel all afternoon activities and as soon as they got out of school it cleared!:rotfl2: I guess they can never be to careful.

Oh - and I had a "security breach" out in my barn today. 5 of our little darling's decided to make a break for it - and were roaming around to their little hearts content....had to give them a stern "talking to" ;) and put them back in the pasture...
CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WAS COWS THAT GOT LOOSE? That has happened to us a few time but mostly it is the calves that get inquisitive and try to get out we have lost a few into the PIT!

Try making menu's in your free time that we all know you have so much of:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: that is what I did yesterday tracked the whole day in the AM

Liz - I knew you'd understand. We are soul sista's. Fashion and music. Sebestian Bach, that's totally funny. Can't believe you've just "talked" about hanging out there.
I know really my butt would be there all the time I would be a STALKER!!!!

I'm jelous of those of you who live on the water. That just sounds delicious.
This is the first year that we have gone to it more than once I know that is bad to say but YUCK.........hate the sand. I like the POOL no sand in my crevasses

Stephanie - awfully quiet. Are you at the zoo?
YES I WAS AT THE ZOOO:eek: IS ALL I CAN SAY!

but the folks north of us may not have been so lucky.
That's me that's me!!! We made it fine! Although we did ride to VT last night and the town where I used to live got hit pretty hard they had no power trees down all down main st.

Steph was telling me about her 32 1st graders field trip last night... sounds more like taking a zoo than going to one. She is probably exhausted!

Yes Very tired!!! I was in bed by 9 and asleep by 10. Between the 32 ist graders and then the adrenaline rush of the tornado warnings and driving through the storm I was beat!!!

Lyz, I am scared. Up and folding!! I hate laundry w/ every fiber of my being.

I am supposed to be doing laundry right now and HHHMMMM haven't brought myself to do it yet I hate it

There I am all caught up! I do have to work tonight so I will not be on till after 1130! Talk to you all then and I will be catching up! If you want to see how my day at the safari was click on my trip report I have posted pics of the Safari on the last page. You can see how personal I got with some of the animals . The actual animals not the kids!
UUUGGGG some of those kids what BRATS! One of the kids in our group, I could have sent him back to the bus and never thought twice about him again and his mother was there and did nothing about it! She even lets him all her FATTY and she is about 120 soaking wet! I gave the look to my son it said" if you act like that you will have some serious problems"

EriKa - six kids in the waters! Yikes.

And I like me some Clapton too. Layla.

I want a pool so bad, I can taste it. But I don't think my stimulus check will cover it.

The AC unit in our office bit the dust and the average temp in our office was a balmy 95 for the past two days.

Goof! That's horrible. Thank heavans the cold front is arriving. We were so humid last week and the past few days have been downright pleasant. Hot, but not sticky hot.

Lyz, I am scared. Up and folding!! I hate laundry w/ every fiber of my being.

I know, right! (It was a fluke, I'm sure of it.) I hope I don't turn into one of those old people who get up at the crack of dawn. I want to always have the ability to sleep in.:cloud9:

Oh and btw, so far so good on the home life. Maybe it really does take a kick in the seat.

:yay:

It's been a busy few days. I have actually had to WORK, the horror! The shock!

Get your priorities in order!

I have this recent pic of her that I think is so cute, i have to share it. You can see that she has already inherited my love of shoes.

Okay, off to work and weigh in! Thinking of all of you!

Emily is precious! And those golden red curls!

CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WAS COWS THAT GOT LOOSE? That has happened to us a few time but mostly it is the calves that get inquisitive and try to get out we have lost a few into the PIT!

What is this? You live on a farm. I don't remember this info. Tell me more...

UUUGGGG some of those kids what BRATS! One of the kids in our group, I could have sent him back to the bus and never thought twice about him again and his mother was there and did nothing about it! She even lets him all her FATTY and she is about 120 soaking wet! I gave the look to my son it said" if you act like that you will have some serious problems"[/COLOR]

Ohhh, that's annoying! For a full day, "other people's kids" are bad enough, but "bratty other people's kids" well, that's downright frightening.

What is this? You live on a farm. I don't remember this info. Tell me more...
Yes I live on a research farm no we don't have three headed cows but we did have a two head calf born last year! They do different things with hay, corn and feed. It is also an agricultural college. Here is a link to their web site http://whminer.com/
They have cows and horses they used to have goats and bison too but no one wanted to milk the goats any more and bison kept getting out and ruining peoples property.

Ohhh, that's annoying! For a full day, "other people's kids" are bad enough, but "bratty other people's kids" well, that's downright frightening.
Thank god I was only responsible for mine and one other but this mom and her son followed behind us and all he did was YELL! I wanted to ask if he had a hearing problem! Plus he sang some stupid song thought out the day! BANG BANG ON THE MOUSES HEAD BANG BANG ON THE MOUSES HEAD!!:headache:  Even my son was like can you SHUT UP PLEASE!

Here is the link to the day at Safari in canada
Part 1 Parc Safari

Part 2 Parc Safari

Ok I also forgot to mention the dream part of this field trip is that the kids ride the bus and the parents follow along in their cars.... I had to ONLY deal with the kids while in the park part not the safari.

I think that I have been overtraining and undereating. I am already at over 600 minutes for the month, and have barely made it over 1000 calories some days. I was so tired today that I left work at 4PM, came home, and took a 2 hour nap. I think that I need to start taking better care of myself.

WHAT?? You overtrain and under eat? I'd never have believed it! :rolleyes1

Nancy--sorry to hear about your son's back! Yikes! Sounds scary--keep us posted!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone :)

He's had a nagging "ache" for a long time :headache: Peditrician and I agreed that the most likely source was his rapid growth (may still be the under lying cause...) but since this has gone on so long we decided to investigate further. It's more of an annoyance to him than anything - he's the runner...ran 3 seasons this year - cross country, indoor then outdoor track. It'll be interesting to see if they can determine how long the crack has been there....I think it SOUNDS worse than it is...but we go for a CAT scan today - once the orthopedic can review the results of that we'll determine just what comes next...

Okay, I have to declare thread bankruptcy! I have read all the posts, but i will be here forever if I reply to all of them. :( Sorry!!!

:rotfl: I recently tried to declare "responsibility bankruptcy"......wanted to toss ALL the balls that I'm trying to keep in the air into the trash - and start new. ::yes:: just been doing WAAAAY to much.
It's been a busy few days. I have actually had to WORK, the horror!

drats that nasty 4 letter word...WORK....really cramps my style! :rotfl:

CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WAS COWS THAT GOT LOOSE? That has happened to us a few time but mostly it is the calves that get inquisitive and try to get out we have lost a few into the PIT!

Goats. Five of the little monsters! ;) at least I saw them before they had TOO much fun running around and causing havoc!

So - I went for a bike ride today :woohoo: (finally! :rolleyes1 )...wore my new clip shoes...and...I DIDN'T FALL! :yay: :yay: I did have a couple of issues getting into them after a stop, but nothing major...no tears or crying from frustration which I was totally afraid of....:scared: ...DH picked up his new bike on Sunday, so we rode together today. It feels SO good to be back...:hyper: now, if I can just STAY here for a while...

Have a great day everyone...I've got loads to do before I pick DS up from school this afternoon...

no we don't have three headed cows but we did have a two head calf born last year!

right...cause a two headed calf is makes much more sense than a three headed cow. :rotfl2:

Ok. When I say, "you live on a farm." and you respond with, "we live on a farm" I'm not sure we are talking the same language. Is it just me?

1. Are YOU guys the farmers?
2. I thought you were going to move?
