Hi guys....I am here and reading...just swamped tonight. Tomorrow should be much better.
Stephanie!
EriKa - we share same taste in skirts but not music? You don't enjoy the long haired bands of the late 80's/early 90's? Those where your glory days. Who were you listening to? Other than your suedo/boyfriend the tennis pro?
I was just having fun. I can listen to AS or GNR with the best of 'em (though they aren't my first choice...every once in a while I revert to my 80s roots!). Yes, those were my crazy days!
I am pretty flexible. I will listen to just about anything...except COUNTRY (put a bullet in my head now, thank you). I also won't listen to New Age Yanni-type crap. My tastes actually run more to the 70s...the true age of rock. Allman Brothers anyone? Van Morrison, Clapton is always good (old stuff when he was with Derek & the Dominos, Cream, as well as the recent stuff), The Who, Grateful Dead, too. Jimmy BUffett is always good and fun and is my usual go-to music. I also like even older music...grew up on MoTown thanks to my parents and still love it today. For more modern music I like DMB, Assembly of Dust, Once Blue. Love all those guys to, but I do like my country (sorry) kids, hubby, even my son has converted. Everymoring around our house the country video's are on while the kids are getting off to school. But when my car radio is on I mix it up with my XM radio. Little of everything....
And thanks to the kids, I can sing Hannah Montana, HSM, and the Jonas Brothers like a rock star!![]()
Oh have an update on house we have put on the market. They finally got all there stuff out on Sunday night, not the 31st of May like they said. The realitor called and said the kitchen floor has be replaced do to holes, it was under the rugs and all the carpet except the bedrooms have to go. All the carpets, this house is huge 4 floors, plus steps. She said they smelt like pee (3 dogs, 3 cats) and are really stained around alot of places. Guess who gets to replace all of this? The doorknobs who said yes to helping them out!yes that would be us.... Hopefully they are going to come through with the microwave above the stove they promised. I suffer from headaches everyday and the call we got yesterday to replace this stuff just about put me over the edge.....CAN I STRANGLE MYSELF!!

NANCY--come back! Your life needs you (and so do we!)
So far, a great day! I started my run this morning and immediately thought "uh-oh. There is no way I am going to make it today..." But I kept at...had the Nancy fight in my head...and not only got through today's scheduled run, but then picked up the mile that I didn't do yesterday. So I am feeling really good about that. After my run I did a good 40-minute work-out (including core).
And YES....I am tracking my food so far. Does it get easier? I swear, I just hate it.(Told ya I would moan and groan and whine and complain the whole time.) But I did all of it yesterday and it kept me honest, so that is good.
After my workout, I FINALLY went and picked up my new bike! I am so excited. Of course, it is hiding in my parents' garage....but I will get to take it out tomorrow since that is an off day from running. Since Jeff will be gone for Father's Day (Singapore), we will celebrate on Thursday night. Then I won't have to hide everything anymore!
Ok, have to actually do some work now...
Derek and the DominosThat is too good to be true!
Hey--it is STILL Clapton! It's classic rock, babe!
CHBC - SNOW! Sheesh! Send some my way.
Silly Lyz....she was talking TO Snow (Nancy)!![]()
I'm jelous of those of you who live on the water. That just sounds delicious.
OMG, we have been either to the beach or the pool every day possible. Tomorrow is a half day for the kids, so we get extra pool time! They are each bringing a friend...which means I will have 6 kids for the afternoon!![]()
Maddi's last day of preschool is tomorrow, so we are making cards tonight. Yes it's after 10 and my daughter is not in bed yet. This is how I roll.
Talk to ya'll in the mornin'.
Hi EriKa, I must have been writing as you posted! Oh yeah, Nancy, Yikes about your sons back. Scary.
Ours are like that too and they won't dismiss the kids! Yesterday they were letting the kids go with out any after school activities because of tornado warnings, heck they even let me take DH's ex's son! That is a big NO NO!
Kids got out of school early again today due to extreme heat - we just aren't set up for that in our schools - only the offices, library/media centers have a/c. Classrooms are like OVENS.
Keep us updated on that He must be in so much pain poor kid!
I had DS at the orthopedic this morning for a chronic, nagging, non-descript back ache. Pretty much we had chalked it up to the fact that he has grown so much, so fast in the last 18 months or so - bones grown, muscles, etc need to catch up...Peditrician has seen him several times, he's seen a chiropractor, but nothing really seems to make it "better"....yeah - so about that. Orthopedic DR did some initial analysis, sent us down the hall for an x-ray, reviewed....and, well...we get to go for a CAT scan tomorrow. Seems he has a crack in the L4/L5 area of his vertebrea (sp?). Nothing catastrophic...but must be "dealt with". Depending on how "new" that crack is will determine course of treatment. Yipee. Can you say "happy summer"???
WE HAD THE TORNADO WARNING HERE! They had all the kids staying inside the classrooms and then decided to cancel all afternoon activities and as soon as they got out of school it cleared!Anywho...it's 5000* out, and humid to boot. There's a tornado warning (or watch? whichever is LESS intense...) for the county right next to mine until 6:00 tonight - and DS17 is out "fluffing" the hay as I type so that we can get it baled (hopefully) before t-storms rain on it....bah.
CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WAS COWS THAT GOT LOOSE? That has happened to us a few time but mostly it is the calves that get inquisitive and try to get out we have lost a few into the PIT!Oh - and I had a "security breach" out in my barn today. 5 of our little darling's decided to make a break for it - and were roaming around to their little hearts content....had to give them a stern "talking to"and put them back in the pasture...
UUUHHHGGG!Hey everyone!
Ok, have to actually do some work now...
Ok you live in my dream world... Bon Jovi and Sebastian Bach all in your neighborhood!Stephanie - Happy Belated Birthday!!! THANKS
Okay, Bon Jovi is HOT! Cheesy but hot - I call him a jalapeno cheese ball. Get it? And before he defected for Soho he lived in my town - I guess technically he still does. Big a$$ house on the water, gives lots of money to the food bank. We love him in this part of Jersey.
And Sebastian Bach likes to get drunk and disorderly at the restaurant/bar right by my house - like stumbling home distance. It's apparently hilarious, and it's not the kind of place you imagine anyone getting drunk at - very staid dark wood ye olde Colonial looking. Nick and I always talk about hanging out there, just to try to see him, but I think they might have banned him Sigh.
Okay, going back to work and then through this thread with a fine tooth comb!
This is what I need to do today plus pack a few boxes!Hi All. I'm here. I've had a busy day. For starters I woke up early and actually got up. When hubby was done in the bathroom, I was sitting on the bed folding clothes. He about fell over from shock. And my day has been going strong ever since. This is what happens when I actually work. I miss the dirt here.
I know really my butt would be there all the time I would be a STALKER!!!!Liz - I knew you'd understand. We are soul sista's. Fashion and music. Sebestian Bach, that's totally funny. Can't believe you've just "talked" about hanging out there.
This is the first year that we have gone to it more than once I know that is bad to say but YUCK.........hate the sand. I like the POOL no sand in my crevassesI'm jelous of those of you who live on the water. That just sounds delicious.
YES I WAS AT THE ZOOOStephanie - awfully quiet. Are you at the zoo?
That's me that's me!!! We made it fine! Although we did ride to VT last night and the town where I used to live got hit pretty hard they had no power trees down all down main st.but the folks north of us may not have been so lucky.
Steph was telling me about her 32 1st graders field trip last night... sounds more like taking a zoo than going to one. She is probably exhausted!
Lyz, I am scared. Up and folding!! I hate laundry w/ every fiber of my being.
The AC unit in our office bit the dust and the average temp in our office was a balmy 95 for the past two days.
Lyz, I am scared. Up and folding!! I hate laundry w/ every fiber of my being.
I know, right! (It was a fluke, I'm sure of it.) I hope I don't turn into one of those old people who get up at the crack of dawn. I want to always have the ability to sleep in.![]()
Oh and btw, so far so good on the home life. Maybe it really does take a kick in the seat.
It's been a busy few days. I have actually had to WORK, the horror! The shock!
Get your priorities in order!
I have this recent pic of her that I think is so cute, i have to share it. You can see that she has already inherited my love of shoes.

Okay, off to work and weigh in! Thinking of all of you!
CAN I ASSUME THAT IT WAS COWS THAT GOT LOOSE? That has happened to us a few time but mostly it is the calves that get inquisitive and try to get out we have lost a few into the PIT!
UUUGGGG some of those kids what BRATS! One of the kids in our group, I could have sent him back to the bus and never thought twice about him again and his mother was there and did nothing about it! She even lets him all her FATTY and she is about 120 soaking wet! I gave the look to my son it said" if you act like that you will have some serious problems"[/COLOR]
Yes I live on a research farm no we don't have three headed cows but we did have a two head calf born last year! They do different things with hay, corn and feed. It is also an agricultural college. Here is a link to their web site http://whminer.com/What is this? You live on a farm. I don't remember this info. Tell me more...
Thank god I was only responsible for mine and one other but this mom and her son followed behind us and all he did was YELL! I wanted to ask if he had a hearing problem! Plus he sang some stupid song thought out the day! BANG BANG ON THE MOUSES HEAD BANG BANG ON THE MOUSES HEAD!!Ohhh, that's annoying! For a full day, "other people's kids" are bad enough, but "bratty other people's kids" well, that's downright frightening.
I think that I have been overtraining and undereating. I am already at over 600 minutes for the month, and have barely made it over 1000 calories some days. I was so tired today that I left work at 4PM, came home, and took a 2 hour nap. I think that I need to start taking better care of myself.
Nancy--sorry to hear about your son's back! Yikes! Sounds scary--keep us posted!
Okay, I have to declare thread bankruptcy! I have read all the posts, but i will be here forever if I reply to all of them.Sorry!!!
I recently tried to declare "responsibility bankruptcy"......wanted to toss ALL the balls that I'm trying to keep in the air into the trash - and start new.
just been doing WAAAAY to much.
It's been a busy few days. I have actually had to WORK, the horror!
