In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

My day is half over! Then its off to visit my Grandpa at the bookstore, stop by the health food store to pick up stuff for dinner, work out, and maybe catch a nap... Had a cup of coffee this morning and wow I feel awake... lol... I have pretty much cut caffiene out of my life because it interferes with my nap schedule... lol... but Fridays and sometimes weekends I have a coffee, iced tea or diet soda...

How is everyone's day going???

OK, Core is done. so 2/2 this week.

Also, I signed up for a 10K next weekend!! I need to do a long run anyhow, and this run benefits the ronald mcdonald house at the childrens hospital here.

Delena and I are off to get some valentines!

And here is vintage delena from last year...

Awesome!! Have you been training to run? How did you start? DH and I are going to start running as soon as he gets to day shift... We are gonna go get shoes tomorrow...

I wonder if they make fleece undies???:confused3

I'm a huge flannel fan. And the Vermont Flannel Co. makes flannel undies. And thongs. Yep. It's true. :goodvibes

You would think that the bodyfat measurement would have kept me on track but instead it made me really sad and upset and, hey, we are all human and pretty much react the same way...::yes:: Now, I am just angry with myself for letting that happen so, vengence is mine!!

Look out! A woman on a mission! ;)

Lisa--great job on the ski! Super time! I am excited to follow your training for the CMM. You were brave to get your body fat tested (and Nancy actually WANTS her done....perish the thought!). Seriously, I would be in the corner in the fetal position.

I do want it done. I need to know. And I do fully understand that callipers are not the most accurate way to measure, but I have to go with what's available to me. And water tank? Without question, I'd be first in line. Well, privately. It's not like I'd want my number broadcast for the whole world to know.

I am trying out a new cleaning lady today, so that is the highlight of my day.

Yeah, me too. When DD gets home from school, I'm going to tell her she needs to clean their bathroom :rotfl2:

This is for LisaPR, EriKa and Nancy - is it possible - with all the working out you do - that you might need cosmetic work done for those last final fat pockets? Or do you think, full on diet deprivation and full time dedication to exercise will work? Have you considered it?

Seriously considered it? No. I'm a big chicken. Couldn't do it. I joke about it all the time though. I don't really want my fat removed, just "relocated". I'm another one of those "barely an A cup". You've heard of the miracle bra? Well, DH says *I* have one. Because it's a MIRACLE that I can find a bra that small! (38A. Ever looked for one of those? :confused3 )

I weighed in this morning....and last Friday was at 244.0 even!
today...241.6:cool1: :cool1:

That's awesome, Dawn. :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work.

Oh - and my suggestion for your food challenges: leave your $$$ in the car. No cash, no purchase. Only eat what you bring with you.

In other news, Treyner has some major pressure which means I have major nerves.

I'm living with the college selection drama myself. But here's the reality as far as I can see it.

The school that my son attends needs to be the one that fits him best. All programs considered. The truth is, very, very few kids that play sports in high school actually go on to play in college. And dramatically less move on from there to play professionally. I'd encourage my child to consider the academic program that he thinks he wants to persue, and determine which school can help him realize those goals the best. Which one feels like "home". Does one make you feel warm and welcome more than another? Are you going to feel lost and invisible at a huge school? Under a microscope at a small one? So much to consider, and a very, very personalized decision. It's about what's right for that particular student, not about the "prestige" of any one school vs. another.

Of course, the $$ factor is big too. But private schools have MUCH more flexibility in their financial incentive packages than public schools do. And what may seem like a more expensive school on the surface, may indeed be the better bargain in the long run.

Another somewhat better snack option is Pirates Booty.

pirate: yummmm...Pirate Booty :cloud9:

One nice thing about trying a new approach is that it feels fresh. Like, there are different combinations of things I can eat, and honestly, it actually gets me really excited at the possiblities of trying them all. Like, the spaghetti squash of last night or the tofu noodles... what other yummy things can I make?

Doesn't it feel great to be enthusiastic about your program? :woohoo: Makes it more motivating. More do-able.

courgette

:confused3 Courgette? What's this?

Am I gonna find something awkward when I google it? :scared:

Erika - A dressy fleece?! In my head I am imagining a very smart fleece decorated with jewels! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Erika, do you have a bedazzler? Are you bedazzling your fleece again? :lmao:

I should really tell you about the time I electrocuted myself with the lawn mower :upsidedow :rotfl:

:lmao: I just have no words right now. You completely crack me up.

But more importantly has been a wonderful week. I really celebrated where I am. Where I came from and where I am. It worked.

:cheer2: Yay for Lisa! So glad to hear that. So very, very glad!

:rotfl: Erika, do you have a bedazzler? Are you bedazzling your fleece again? :lmao:

Okay, four things here.

Flannel UNDERWEAR?? Once again, flames. We are back in the 50s again here today, look ma, no coat. Tomorrow is supposed to get close to 70. See why I don't have matching gloves?

I would have punched your DH in the mouth. Or made some comment about the size of... Just me, though.

Yes, it definitely feels great. Esp because Mr Kat is the same way about it right now, makes it SO much easier.

Bedazzler alone = fashion intervention even from me, unless you are 14 or under. Bedazzler + fleece = HORROR. :crazy2:

I would have punched your DH in the mouth. Or made some comment about the size of... Just me, though.

It's ok. Really it is. We both mock me. It's all in jest. :goodvibes

I need to ask permission to drink. Really. I think I may need a glass of wine tonight. PLEASE? :confused3 Just one.

Report card issue. I am over-the-edge angry with one certain 10th grader in my home. :furious:

Thank god I am out of school... Report card time was never fun for me... Just remember how ticked my parents got I'd say you should have a drink... but then again I was lazy in school... LOL....

Hey everyone!
I got Five Minutes to get on the computer!
Between Work and Kids! AHHHGGGG!
So Zac was better after a few days and was back to himself. Then This week Tyler was complaining about a sore throat! So I played a wait and see game! No fever No thing so I didn't do anything . Well Yesterday he spike a fever and was sent home. I called to see if they would just write a script for him without seeing him but NO such luck. His fever spike to 104.5 and Stephen called me at work in hysterics. I called and said OK I will bring him so you can run a rapid strep. Well good thing that we did bring him in because he didn't have strep he has pneumonia. They put him on heavy duty antibiotics and his fever has yet to reappear.

THis week has been so busy dr. appointments for all of us. I got to go to the Girlie/ Lady dr. Sam check up on her knee and then Ty. Plus my boss thought it would be great to work me 5 days a week and working only 5 hour shifts. This is great I am at home at night but I am falling asleep as soon as everyone is in bed and on the nights I am working till 11 it is killing me!
So sorry I haven't been around but been really busy. I am trying to catch up with all those pages I have missed!
Amy little D looks so cute in that bag!
Kat how was your trip?
Paula Date? When?
Nancy sorry about the report card! Sam actually is excelling this year! The teachers are all impressed and SO am I! I think she finally learned to balance her social life and her academic life!
Aimee That for asking how Zac was doing ... oh sooooo long ago!
Dawn what page is the pictures of the puppy on??

Any advice too would be great on this subject. I was letting the puppy chase me this morning around the house and I heard a POP in my calf and now I have a charlie horse beyond belief and can't flex my foot! I have iced and taken tylenol but still am having a hard time putting any of pressure on it! If not better by tomorrow I think I will be going to the DR.
Ok off to do my hair and get ready for a party! That I will be sitting for! It is my friend from works last night in the area so we are having a dinner for her!

And O. M. G. that picture. Whew, I got goosebumps. YUM-O.

I love the picture! I might stick my face over Bellas :rotfl2:

I am still trying to get this concept of dressy fleece. Although here, most days, you would burst into flames.

Me too. I don't understand! :rotfl:

Seriously considered it? No. I'm a big chicken. Couldn't do it. I joke about it all the time though. I don't really want my fat removed, just "relocated". I'm another one of those "barely an A cup". 36A checking in for duty. Im sure it would be easier to go bra-less than find an A cup nowadays! :lmao:

Electrocution by Lawn Mower:

Picture the scene - boiling hot day (I remember it well, it was one of 4 hot days we had last year :rotfl2: ) I decide in all my wisdom to cut the grass. My garden is only small, there is the lawn which is surrounded by plant beds - in one of the beds I have got stick lights, so I was being really careful not to cut through the wire of the lights - instead I cut straight through the mower wire :crazy2:
It blasted the lawn mower out of my hands, and left me with a lovely red mark up my arm and a little scorch mark on my hand. Worst part, when the wire cut it whipped up and hit me on the bummocks and left a mark :lmao:

DH rang NHS direct to see if there was a particular cream they recommended to put on electrical burns - they sent an ambulance! :upsidedow I had to be hooked up to the heart monitor to make sure everything was working properly.

Now, I don't mow the lawn anymore :lmao:

KELLY! :lmao: :rotfl2: I can only laugh hysterically now since I know it turned out ok and you weren't seriously hurt! BUT OMG! Bella!

Speaking of...I like my Edward clean shaven. Seriously, Edward is perfect. He would NEVER go for the scruffy look.

CONGRATS to the LOSERS.

Amy--great job on core and C25K!

Nancy--wine. Well, um, ok...I guess. I mean, if you just HAVE to. :lmao: :rotfl2: Seriously, you know the drill. Track it, count it, and move on. (Oh God, I sound like Liz! :lmao: )

Kat! Rockin' it big time!

Steph--good to see you! Sorry about the sick kids! Total drag. If you had vampires for children like I do, then they might not get sick. :rotfl2:

As for the calf. Did you HEAR a pop or FEEL it? There is not much in the calf that can make an audible pop. I am going to guess that it is muscular. Keep with the ice and see how it feel manana.

As for the college debate. I love how Nancy put it. And I echo that from both the student and faculty perspective. When I went to undergrad I narrowed it down to two schools. Cornell (Ivy League) and my small, private, Christian college in the mid-west. Everyone thought I was CRAZY to turn down Cornell. But it was exactly as Nancy said. The second I set foot on campus at Hope (where I ended up going), I knew it was the right place. KNEW it. I needed small and personal. At Cornell, I was a number. One of thousands and thousands. And it was totally the 100% right decision.

And I did it again for graduate school. I did my first degree at Harvard. Because how could I say no, right? After I finished my post-grad year there, I had the option to stay for the rest of my graduate studies. Well, I left and went to UMaine. Again, it was the right decision for me.

As a faculty member, I see it everyday. Students who just do no belong at this school. Not because it is too intellectually demanding or anything like that. It is a unique school and not a good fit for everyone. And if it isn't the right place, the students just end up miserable. They drop classes (which costs a fortune, FYI), don't do well. And often end up not completing their degree anywhere. You have to look for the right fit.

And from the sounds of it, Seth is perfect for Norwich. I am so excited for him! This is such an amazing time, full of growth and excitement and energy.

Just remember how ticked my parents got I'd say you should have a drink... but then again I was lazy in school... LOL....

Lazy. Distracted. Whatever you want to call it. He's just up that certain creek without his paddle, that's for sure.

I'm all about effort. If you are working your hardest, doing your best and come home with a report card full of C's and D's? Well then, you did what you could. But if I don't see that effort (or in his case ANY effort) and you don't make honor roll? You are screwed. Big time. Until the next report card comes home. Not progress report, full fledged report card. That has always been our deal, and this is the first time we've had to enforce it.

BAH. Dang kids.

Oh - and oddly -only 2 of the 3 report cards showed up. :confused3

Pneumonia? YIKES :scared:

Oh, ouch. :scared: "popping" can be a nothing or it can be a big "something". I'm hoping for your sake it's a "nothing". Personally - I think you are on the right track. Advil/Ibuprophen is better for swelling than Tylenol. Ice. And if the pain continues or gets worse, definitely have it looked at.

It is exciting. And nerve wracking. I know I'll miss him terribly, but every not and then I can't WAIT for him to get the he** outta here :lmao:

I hear ya... Life would be so much better if I had done well enough to get a scholarship... now I'm paying for a degree that was fun to get but absolutely useless really...

And when exactly did this turn into the Carnivore Thread? <vomiting smiley here> Ugh...from corned beef to pastrami to chicken. What happened to the happy, happy tofu noodles? :lmao:
I never said - but I do not like corned beef as of now how I have had it prepared and I love pastrami. My absolute favorite sandwich meat! I looked for Tofu noodles but did not find at Super Target today. Will look tom.

Oh, wait. Did Erika not want to hear about meat? Lyz, how's the poor pig in the freezer?
Liz - I literally laughed out loud! My kids walked into the office to ask what is so funny!

:rotfl2:

Sorry. I know, this is like you wearing fleece OUT to me.

Ok, so here's the thing. This is MAINE, right? We need fleece. It is a staple. And all fleece are not created equal, oh no. You have your everyday fleece (for wearing inside, like it was a sweatshirt or something), then you have your outdoor fleece, there is fleece for sleeping, fitness fleece, and then dress-up fleece. Lisa/PR, help me out here! :rotfl2:
This makes me think of my ex MIL and her quilting clothes in the late 80's. I swear it was like Little House. She wore a homemade dress with a doily atapled to the front of it for my wedding. I need to post pics.

The reason I say this...is that all of Iowa was in this craze. Like you describe Maine being fleecerized. I had actually never seen anyone dress like that. If you can picture the place in Texas raided recently and all the kids taken away for awhile...how the women dress...that was Iowa.

So. My daughter had her Middle School Band concert tonight. I have just 2 words.

PAIN. FUL. :crazy2:
When I was in 7th grade we did a band/choir combo concert. Mike Adams (still remeber) had gone to Mc D's and gotten a shamrock shake. He was in top row of choir risers. He pukes all over the girl in front of him and you would have thought it was the "Barfarama" of Stand by Me fame. People were puking in their trumpets, parents were throwingg up in purses. We made the news due to home video coverage. I, di not throw up. I was last chair flute (tried to lose that horrid instrument) and thus...as far from the melay as possible!

The 8th grade was MUCH better. dd is in 8th, mercifully! so we didn't have to mock her, just the other kids :rotfl: We truly are not a very kind family :rolleyes1
We are bad to. In church on Christmas Eve, the pastors wife was reading a story to the kids..and instead of donkey...the book used "@ss" and you would have thought we were in elementary school. She has a medical issue and uses a respirator and her s's wheeze. She kinda sounds like Sylvester the cat. We counted and it was 44 times the word @ss was said. I am going to he!! for that one too I know.
Long day at work ~ made worse by being stuck in an elevator for 45 mins.

Well, I will be back sometime.
I would die. Claustraphobic city here. My biggest fear is just that!
Speaking of fleece, have you guys seen the Snuggie? The blanket with sleeves? I see the commercial ALL the time. Something about it just makes me :lmao: :lmao:

snuggie.jpg
I had one similar in 5th grade. This was just on the talk radio program today I was listening to...Baylor siad, "Can't you just put on more clothes?":rotfl2:
My mom and dad (also vegetarians) call St. Francis "Frank." They think it is hilarious. Like every once in a while J goes through a phase where he thinks he might want to eat meat again and my folks are all, "Yeah, but then you would piss off Frank and that wouldn't be good..." Have I ever mentioned how totally cool I think my parents are??!?!
Love that. My grandparents were like that!
Happy Friday everyone!!

Just a super quickie post from me. I am +1 pound for the challenge this week  :furious: and I have 25.96 miles for the week. I am thinking about changing my goals (if it is allowed) to inches and body fat instead of pounds. I am very upset by the body fat percentage I seem to have and that number is bothering me way more than the scale right now.
You are deserving of good numbers wherever you want to find them!

The kids...this is a tough one. I have no idea what the right thing to do here is. This lifestyle is something that HAS to be a personal choice. I can't force it on them and at some point they get to decide. But WHEN? Right now, Riley is really interested. He's 9. Old enough? I don't know. And HOW? Because I won't cook it. (I don't even know how!) Honestly, I hope he gets a bit rebellious and does something like have a McD's burger (or something else horrible) and it just makes him so sick that he never wants to eat meat again. Bad mom award, I know. Cammie is already committed, so that is not a problem. And Kelly...well, Kelly is a free spirit. Even though she is the youngest, she has major issues with rules, etc. So she will be the first to try it. But I am also willing to be bet that she comes back to it on her own.
My friend from Northern Ireland let their kids decide around age 9 - they tried meat and siad, "What's the big deal?" They now are pretty much all vegetarian diet too. I thoink the boy eats bacon still. But yeah, if you can't cook it how would you let them decide? I can't stuff aturkey.. Grosses me out to no end. Often I cannot eat a raw product cooked since I saw it in raw form.
As for plastic surgery...yes, I think about it. Would I actually do it? No clue. There is no way that I will get exactly the body I want with diet and exercise alone. We all have our "trouble spots." So...:confused3 But I can get pretty close to ideal. And maybe that should be good enough.
Stomach and ****s are a no brainer for me!:cool1:

Maybe to help with the challenges of the weekend you can bring your own food that will sustain you. Like bring hot tea in exchange for hot chocolate or buy diet hot chocolate (only 25 calories a packet)... Make your own popcorn at home so you can monitor butter etc... I use an air popper and 1 cup of popcorn with not butter is only 15 calories... Add a little pam and some seasoning and you are good to go... Also chop veggies if you feel you may want to munch... This way you have an arsenal of snacks to help you combat the munchies there... I think maybe bringing one bar may discourage you... But if you have food similar that you CAN eat you will feel much better and enjoy it more.
Great advice Sarah! That was very kind.
. Another somewhat better snack option is Pirates Booty. What is this Jack Sparrow bottom you speak of?

Paula, Nancy and E -

I totally am on the same page in fact I told Treyner that if he breaks his leg in 2 years he would need to know that the regular school help will be good enough and the school would where he would want to consider home. He feels that about Fort Lewis but he has been there for almost 12 days total and so will probably feel more welcome there etc. than most places.

I like the admissions guy and the major he has in mind is a phenominal program.

I just hate having to go visit again another school and throwing a wrench into a pretty solid decesion. I want Treyner to make sure he picks the right one for all of the reasons - not just money or notoriety. As arrogant as he can be - he likes the hard nose no fooling around coaching aspect of Fort Lewis. He like the challenge of building himself up - I know nothing at all of Maddison - faculty, campus or coaching.

Who knows - I will know more after tom night - maybe they will say he is not what they thought and this will all be moot.

:rotfl: Erika, do you have a bedazzler? Are you bedazzling your fleece again? :lmao:

OMG - that is a picture I would have in my siggie...

Dawn what page is the pictures of the puppy on??
No clue - I will try and post more!

Same rules here. Your best is fine but that means all homework turned in and studying. If that gets you a D then we will deal with it. But do not tell me that you tried with 10 missing homework assignments!

K - off to game #1. Had a great food day and fell in love with a fiber bar from Target. Planning on no snacks cause I am stuffed right now but bringing water.

They are having a team dinner at Green Mill after and I delegated Chad to cover that so no late munchies will head my way.

Hey...LYZ...what was that TR you mentioned awhile back that had an Amazing Race theme? Can you link it again? :flower3:

for dinner I am having grilled chicken breast with stuffing, boiled potatoes, green beans, carrots, courgette

Erika - A dressy fleece?! In my head I am imagining a very smart fleece decorated with jewels! :rotfl2: Oh, and a fleece bra! That is something I have never heard of!

Courgette is zucchini, right?

Dressy fleece - don't be confused. There's no such thing. Tooth Fairy = Dressy Fleece.

Regularly. I don't use lifts because I repel all things electrical. Its not worth the hassle getting stuck in a lift! I use escalators because if they stop you can just walk up them like a stair case!

I should really tell you about the time I electrocuted myself with the lawn mower

OMG. You're Bella's mom. You repel all things electronic!

I am stunned you are okay after that incident. Lucky? Or not?

Ok, another confession. I couldnt' stay away from the scale this week. I weighed Sunday, and then again today... and was down 4.6 lbs!

I think I am going to weigh weekly again, on Fridays. I need the progress indicator after all.

Kat, that is just fabulous!!! Way to go!!!

Smiling Sarah. I made a huge decision this week. I was getting burnt out by the scale. I was continually losing but I wasn't celebrating it. I was becoming obsessed by numbers. And goal. And not celebrating my success and the now. So I made the decision. And it was scary. And I cheated. :lmao: :rotfl: . I guess I'll have to have Jean literally take it away. I'm down one.

I wished I could be Liz and not put huge emotions to the number. She and Paula ( I think) say it's just a number. But I realized, unfortunately, I'm never going to get there. I"m just too obsessive and have to own that.

But more importantly has been a wonderful week. I really celebrated where I am. Where I came from and where I am. It worked.

It's scary but it worked.

Lisa - be careful iwth the fat ratio unless it was water submerging that Erika talked about - by the way so funny Erika. It made me think of all the things I used to do and still do to get out of body situations.

I just read that calipers must be done by someone who is highly specialized and trained in the area. That they can be way off if the person hasn't been trained properly. But maybe you had it all done by someone highly trained. Hang in there. I know how frustrating it must be.

I'm glad you celebrated. You deserve to.

I could freak out over the scale. But I can't. Because I am NOT a number. Would I love to lose? Yes. But I have to do something for that, and I"m not doing enough, so I'm not going to judge myself but be gentle. I do what I can, and I move on.

LisaV, unfortunately, I am the owner and operator of the calipers. And I am trained to use them. I did it and got 31%, my MIL (who is also trained) did it and got 28% so I took the difference and went a little high. In this category, it is all same-same between 28% to 31% so I am just a walking heart attack...:scratchin Hmm, no wonder my cholesterol is so high. And here I thought is was just bad DNA....

Kat, thanks for the hugs and kind words. I am so upset by this I cannot even tell you so every little bit helps. Super congrats on your loss though.

Everyone else, just thanks for being there!!

Oh and dressy fleece, I get mine from Athleta (sorry Erika). They have dressy workout clothes and I really like the fit and feel of ALL of their things. I have a fleece lined bra top that I love beyond loving.

I'm sorry you're so upset about the measurement. It's just another measure, it's not you. You will get where you want to be. Journey, not destination. Right? Hugs.

Ok, see? You acknowledge they are "dressy WORKOUT clothes". This I can buy. Fleece-lined bra? For running?

And what is this Athleta? I love the concept of workout clothes. New ones. Whee!

I am still trying to get this concept of dressy fleece. Although here, most days, you would burst into flames.

We all have our struggles!! Sometimes it is hard for us that are not as far along in the process to understand how someone that is a size 2 could be unhappy about it, but we all know our own bodies and where we want to be. I know for me, I feel out of shape, but I have a 330 lb friend who is getting on the treadmill for the first time in his life. Everything is relative.

Oh, and I am still of the belief that body fat doesn't have that much to do with cholesterol. I was 218 lbs and 44% (gasp!) body fat when I had my cholesterol done, and I had 88 LDL (bad) and 126 HDL (good).

Lisa, I feel your obsessiveness with the scale. Some part of me says put it away, but the other says, if you have no measurable progress, will you give up?

Kat, there is no such thing as dressy fleece. Tooth Fairy! Sasquatch!

Yes, I like to think I'd be happy at a size 2, no matter what. But it's all relative, as you say. I just want to be back to where I was before Christmas. I just want to feel happy. For more than a day or two.

Look at Kat doling out the wisdom... Very cool.

I love what you said about everything being relative because that is so true. Part of owning this battle and conquering it is knowing what works best for you despite what others are doing. We are all individuals and what works for some may not work for you. The same holds true for body chemistry. Look at my friend from college. His cholesterol was through the roof despite his healthy diet and lifestyle. It was so bad that he had congestive heart failure and yet here I am, a good 100 pounds heavier and knock wood, I have never had any issues with my heart. Was I playing with fire had I not changed my lifestyle - absolutely, but everyone is different. I know now and am making changes that work for me.

The strength to recognize what works best for us and then implement those changes is all that any of us can ask for. That and some patience to wait for the results no matter how frustratingly slow they can be (right?).

Man I love this board... you never know what we are going to learn on any given day. The fact that they make fleece bras one day and cholesterol the next...

Back to the grind...

WORD, sister-girl.

Love corned beef. ;)

The last time I ate corned beef was at Katz's on vacation last summer.

Oh, thank God for you, Lisa Z. Seriously, I was in dire need of a corned beef, Katz loving friend on this thread! :thumbsup2

Your grandpa works at a bookstore? Runs one? Tell me more.

Sigh. Best job EVER.

I'm a huge flannel fan. And the Vermont Flannel Co. makes flannel undies. And thongs. Yep. It's true. :goodvibes

Erika, do you have a bedazzler? Are you bedazzling your fleece again?

]

OMG. Flannel undies? WTH?

I am out of my league here.

I so see Erika and her bedazzler. So funny.

Love what you said about schools. So true.

Okay, four things here.

Flannel UNDERWEAR?? Once again, flames. We are back in the 50s again here today, look ma, no coat. Tomorrow is supposed to get close to 70. See why I don't have matching gloves?

Bedazzler alone = fashion intervention even from me, unless you are 14 or under. Bedazzler + fleece = HORROR.

Thank you, Kat. Flannel undies. Dress fleece. I am spinning in my fashion grave over here.

I need to ask permission to drink. Really. I think I may need a glass of wine tonight. PLEASE? :confused3 Just one.

Yes, you get a drink. Go for it.

Nancy--wine. Well, um, ok...I guess. I mean, if you just HAVE to. Seriously, you know the drill. Track it, count it, and move on. (Oh God, I sound like Liz! )

You do sound like me. Except for the fleece stuff. :rotfl2:

Listen up. I take my Edward - scruffy or clean shaven. Whatever he wants.

Um, YES. YES. YES. Me, too.

Lazy.

:confused3

Are you channeling her now? Did you have a sudden urge to buy a Vera purse?? :confused3

It is exciting. And nerve wracking. I know I'll miss him terribly, but every not and then I can't WAIT for him to get the he** outta here :lmao:

Um, a lot here. Just acknowledging that I am reading this, Nancy. And Erika already bought a VB. It only takes about six months of knowing me to start craving them.

I hear ya... Life would be so much better if I had done well enough to get a scholarship... now I'm paying for a degree that was fun to get but absolutely useless really...

Sarah, you have a cool degree, don't you? Isn't it interesting? Asian Studies? Why is is useless?

Lyz, thank you for today. SOOOO much.

No degree is useless. I have a minor in Ancient Greek. Yes, really. It is a DEAD language. And while I could never get a job using it, it is so far from useless! It is about knowledge, and the breadth of that knowledge. If you just want a job, go to a trade school. But if you want an education, then go to college and get a degree in something you love. (OMG, can you tell I am all about a liberal arts education??? :rotfl2: )

I will send you a fleece lined bra. You will never be the same. Especially you, my temperature-sensitive friend.

I can hear you now. "My b00bs are so happy." They will be.

Courgette is zucchini, right?

Dressy fleece - don't be confused. There's no such thing. Tooth Fairy = Dressy Fleece.

OMG. You're Bella's mom. You repel all things electronic!

I am stunned you are okay after that incident. Lucky? Or not?

Kat, that is just fabulous!!! Way to go!!!

I'm glad you celebrated. You deserve to.

My grandpa owns a Civil War and Western Americana bookstore... Has owned it since 1964 and is in the same location. http://www.guidon.com I worked there for 5 years... basically while I was in college and then after... I miss working there... Great job... paid like crap but hey I got to read all day long... literally I read Gone with the Wind like 4 times and Scarlett like 6 or 7... I should probably have just bought the store copies... lol... Plus I was able to do homework, scrapbook, etc...

My degree was fun... I have a BA in History with an emphasis on US/Asian History and a certificate in Southeast Asian Studies... I took Indonesian as a language but slacked off so I don't really know a lot... I don't use my degree at all and don't really know if I'd want to... LOL... but like I said it was fun to get. I love writing history papers... Don't think I have enough of my own ideas though to write a book or anything...

Went to Sprouts on my way home... got all sorts of healthy goodies... dried cantaloupe!!! 140 calories for 3.5 slices and when I eat dried fruit I usually take half a slice to work and make cubes for a mid afternoon snack... or eat one slice as a post workout sweet.... bought more dried mango.... got stuff for dinner and ASPARAGUS!!! Only 97 cents a lb! I love winter!! I hate hate hate canned asparagus... I am gonna bake some tomorrow when we eat our St**ks... (see E... I bleeped it for you :)) the rest I will blanch and mix with my tofu pasta and new singapore noodle sauce which is only 45 calories for 2.5 ounces which is way more than I will use with a serving of noodles... I love Sprouts... got a ton more stuff too and only spent 30 bucks... basically 3 or 4 meals worth of food... Now I am gonna go work out before I lose my motivation to do so... Catch ya when I get back!!

:rotfl2: we woulda been in BIG trouble.

Dressy fleece - don't be confused. There's no such thing. Tooth Fairy = Dressy Fleece.

I don't have any. yet. I know I'd love 'em :lovestruc

Yes, you get a drink. Go for it.

I didn't. Chose not to open the bottle. :thumbsup2

I can hear you now. "My b00bs are so happy." They will be.

:rotfl2: But do they make them in my teeny tiny size? :confused3
