Good morning everyone. Checking in as promised. Thanks for all your kind words of support. I do count on you all for that. And Erika, thanks for the Goddess Crown although it will probably fall off in transition between here and there. I cherish that I earned it though.

So here is my confessional:
1. I was going to blow off today's workout entirely and go snowmobiling with my FIL this afternoon.
2. I ate a slice of pizza and a half bag of salt and vinegar chips yesterday.

There I feel better. Now the good news that goes along with the confessional:
1. My SIL cannot pick up David so I cannot go snowmobiling, hence forcing me to take Shelby and her friend to the gym today. :cheer2:
2. I still managed to lose 2 pounds this week bringing my grand total to -5.5!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :teeth: party: :jumping1: My miles, in case you missed it were 25.13.

Alcohol in moderation, I am either all or nothing so I guess I am not much help here. I guess in my favor is that when I decide to really drink, I drink beer, which fills me up so I don't eat much. Sad but true.....


Love the confessional. You're indulgence is totally my style. Yum.

Also, beer stops you from eating? I want to drink your beer!!!

I've been busy at work! One of the girls her husband is in ICU. So she is out till who know when! SO I am trying to pick up some hours!
I am off to look at pellet stoves this morning with Steph. The wood stove isn't heating enough. Stephen doesn't want to heat the house with fuel just use it for the water! SO Pellet stove is it........ I guess!

I hope everyone is doing OK! I haven't caught up but I will hopefully this afternoon!

Erika hope your feeling better! I did catch that you pulled or strained something!

I didn't get to post my exercise ~ yes, I made it 2 1/2 hours this week. Only weighed in once (the 2nd time doesn't count since it was seconds later). Well, ok I weighed an additional time on a different scale. I have lost 1 lb!!! That is more than I expected because I am very puffy (PMS maybe?!?).

I'll jump back tonight and catch up the comments that I wanted to make this AM.

Good luck with the pellet stove...but when you buy one, buy one from someone who also supplies pellets and will guarantee you pellets for the season. Since so many people have switched to pellet stoves this year, there is a shortage of pellets to put in all of these new stoves.

Congrats to ALL the losers this week! And add me to the list! I am down 1 pound, which I think totals 6 for the month. And it was a BIG pound, since it put me into the 180's!! (189.5)!! I too felt puffy/bloaty so I wasn't expecting much. And exercise for the week, 3/5. No reason other than being lazy.
 
Ok, I am in pain today. Crap! The hip thing that I mentioned yesterday has blossomed since doing my long run. Not really sure what to do about it. It is not truly painful in that I don't need ibuprofen or anything like that. It's just that every time I take a step, I get this little stab. Sometimes localized just deep, deep in the hip/glute and sometimes it radiates down my leg more.

So, what to do for a work-out? Planned for the day was non-impact cardio (either bike or elliptical) and strength, both upper body and legs (and core, of course). But...should I just rest? Should I only do upper body strength and core?

Nancy/Lisa/Lisa/Others....HELP!

Personally - I would rest (as in no impact, nothing that aggrevates)..., advil/aleeve for swelling, ice, gentle stretching...it's quite possible that you are feeling pain there due to a tight muscle somewhere else. I had what I *thought* was a hip issue, and a massage therapist was all "wth?" when she worked on my ANKLE. Yes. My ankle.

and probably more important....listen to Lisa. :laughing: I am the world's WORST patient. :rolleyes1 When I was in PT last winter/spring...they yelled at me all.the.time. :mic: Take care of it.

And...shoes. When's the last time you got new running shoes? :confused3

I am down. Yes, I am down. I am down .8 and I'm thrilled. So that's four for the challenge I think. So eating you can say "back on". Exercise - bang on.

I said to Jean, "I'm down. I feel like such an a$$ to post a loss after venting so much."

She says, "You're so ridiculous. What's wrong with you?" :lmao: :rotfl:

But you know what. I'm lucky, yes. But I posted earlier that I thought what can you control right now (last weekend).

So eating was off for emotional reasons. So I said, "exercise and water". And I did both through all the eating. And I hopped back on with eating by Monday.

And I have a big hint for some of you. Listen, I don't know if you remember but at the end of the last BL the last two weeks I lost nearly 3 pounds each of those weeks after being 1, 1.5 etc. etc.

So when I started eating I thought Lisa try that specific exercise rotation. I rotate different workouts from week to week (6 on, 2 off).

So it means something. It obviously is a good combination. I won't do it every rotation cause I feel like it wears me down instead of pumps me up. But here it is:

These two workouts were for the week:

1) My interval program which is full body weight moves intertwined with 3 minute hard, intense cardio. For 50 minutes to an hour. My HR is very high the entire time.

Next day:

2) An hour long cardio but I make sure I don't push it. I don't wear my HR monitor on purpose. I'm very competitive so I couldn't look at the low 120s and not start pushing it. I think of it as a long slow run kind of workout.

Next day #1 and so on and so on.

So obviously because of the loss this week and those two other weeks - it works miracles for me.

I'm a tad upset with myself because I said if I was on my heavy interval rotation that I wouldn't do anything in between. But I thought I would experiment this week.

So I'm thrilled. Thank you for all your support.
