We are staying at a resort outside of WDW that includes transportation to the parks. Is there any forms of transportation inside the parks other than walking? If so, does it cost anything?

Do you mean between the different parks? Is so, yes and free. You should probably get one of the guides books such as Unofficial Guide or one of the better reference sites like allears.net

If you mean inside a park,, the only thing is the train at MK that goes from the front to the back of the park. At epcot there is a boat that will take you back to world show case. other than that is all by foot inside the parks. Both modes of transportation are free.

Thank you for the info! This will be our first visit to Disney next week. Getting very excited and trying to figure out the basics.

Strongly recommend you read extensively on The Dis and AllEarsNet before you leave. WDW is a huge property and getting around on the buses, boats and monorails can be a confusing proposition if you don't have a basic knowledge of the transportation system. Too many novices miss things or have a bad time because they were unprepared for the magnitude of the place. Don't let that happen to you!

Make sure you know what your hotel's transportation schedule is. It may very well be an hour or more to get where you are going to/from WDW. Is it exclusive to where you are staying or does it share rides?

allears.net is an excellent on-line resource. All the information is pretty well laid out and accessible.

Exactly, I have only heard stories of the magnitude of WDW so that's why I'm here lol I will definitely read up on those sites as well.
