Flu has gotten so bad up here, all schools are now closed until Nov. 3rd. Let's hope is slows it some.

Was40, we require fever free for 24 hours with no help from meds. I can see the staff now, taking temps as everyone gets off the bus.

DS went to the nurse today

I do not actually allow this practice

and they called me at DISMISSAL (his) to come pick him up
wouldn't let him ride the bussy wussy and spread germs


I gave him the evil eye when I picked him up
and said "Who goes to the nurse at the end of the day?"

fever 101, hardly life threatening

anywho.... got the boy tamiflu
in case we are swine infected in this house

Was40, Sounds like he did the right thing, now they know to deep clean the areas he has been. Hopefully the whole school. This is not your normal flu.

I am very impressed he cared enough not to spread it!

Are the parents in a uproar about "missing" Halloween? They would be here! I read online that closing the school only prolongs the duration of the flu spreading through the population. Hope that is NOT the case.

DS is great today, the tamiflu must be miraculous.
As for cleaning the school well where he has been, another nice idea....hope it happens....He is staying home tomorrow anyway, DH will get home and he is hoping DH takes the day off and they can go hunting. I am sure this is NOT in DH's mind, at all!

DD13 is stressing since she can't finish ALL of her homework tonight
five days worth

I explained to her that she does not NEED to do five days worth in one night....
she looked at me like I was insane.

headache
sore throat
coughing


no stuffy or runny nose
no upset tummy

could be some virus besides the piggy flu
but I am thinking that is what DD13 had, and DS had headache and fever, no cough or sore throat
