Snow had one cancelled class yesterday (due to snow?)
why are the NY classes cancelled all week? Winter break? Snow?

Nothing much. Still deciding what to be. Now I'm thinking about a chef.

Ah, the was 40's are having a difficult new year.


Today, the van (Maggie) broke down on the way to the swim meet. Luckily, we were about ten minutes from the university where it was being held, and we managed to get ahold of teammates who came and rescued us and got the kids to the swim meet on time.

Maggie, may she rest in peace, has done her duty and will now be taken to the scrap yard. Her lack of transmittion renders her undriveable and too expensive to repair.

Back to two vehicles and DS~ riding the bus.
Guess it was a good thing we just refurbished the wrecked truck,'eh? All things for a reason

DS has broken up with the long distance girlfriend (after six months, much longer than I expected this love to last).


He is not in mourning, however. He already has a new gal in mind, and he took her skating last night. She is on the swim team, too.

I have booked airfare on Southwest
I found out on here that the prices dropped on Wednesday, and they did for my route (by 52 bucks per person!!!) so I bought right away.

Two free bags, per person with Southwest!!

Friday I checked rates again
and guess what???

Back up!

Then, I posted on the transportation board
asking if anyone got a great deal on a minivan

and a helpful DISer shared theirs,
which was WAY better than the best one I had found previously

so I booked a minivan, too!


(You don't think Maggie heard about that and threw a fit, do you?)

we have picked out the perfect (of course) vacation house for our Mickey visit
four bedrooms, three baths, private pool
75 bucks a night!

I have found another cool website called Half Off Depot
which has deals in certain cities, Orlando amongst them

Ripleys Believe it or Not, $10.10
we have never been there, so I dont' know if I will believe it (or not)
but that is a great price and yes, it convinced me to try it this summer

but I hope to get a good deal on Universal
since Harry Potter is opening up this spring....

DH has evening meetings this week which makes me the solo taxi
even though DS drives, he is now vehicle-less

and on Sunday, shaved.....

Today I saw several homes with the gutters hanging on the ground, as the icicles got to be too much for them...


the wording the television is using is "snow hurricane" because of the high winds along with the flakes


that does not sound promising....
