Hello everyone!

My mom and I are planning our "escape" to WDW in May and need some restaurant suggestions. As DVC members, we have a kitchen and usually eat in for breakfast and lunch, so we don't use the dining plan.

But we need some recommendations for dinner!!

Here are our definites:
Victoria and Albert's CHEF's TABLE :thumbsup2 (already booked!)
Narcoossees (2x)
California Grill

I've thought of these additional places, but I need opinions!

So, what do you think of:
Artist Point
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Citricos
Le Cellier
Flying Fish

We are looking for good table service places with outstanding food for dinner, so any additional suggestions are welcome!

We have plans for 4 dinners and need to plan an additional 4, so recommend some good places!

I have heard reports that Jiko is excellent....I have not tried it yet, but will on my upcoming trip!

Jiko needs to be on the list...if only for the wine list!

The only other I'd bother with is Artist Point as I think you can do much better offsite. Go to Seasons 52, Roy's or any of the other good restaurants on Sand Lake. I'd recommend PF Chang's at Mall at Millennia and The Capital Grille at Pointe Orlando.

Yachtsman is amazing, Flying Fish was out of this world and Le Cellier is so good. I would like to say that Jiko and Tutto Italia are just the best places EVER

We've had good experiences at Flying Fish and have heard great things about Jiko, which we haven't yet tried but plan to later this year.

BTW, big congrats on the Chef's Table at V&A's! Wow, I hope you do a food review on your trip. I'd love to hear about your experiences.

I must say that I am a fan of Le Cellier after dining there with my DF last December...I've had dinner there three times in a little over a year! LOL!

I enjoy a steak every once in a while, but I'm not really a steak lover however I had one of the best steaks ever at Le Cellier. It was the filet with wild mushroom risotto. The cheddar cheese soup is out of this world (my poor mom who has celiac couldn't eat it and really wished she could!) and I love the s'mores there! Add in the pretzel bread and for me it's the perfect meal!

I haven't had any meals at the other locations you listed though.

Enjoy whatever you chose! :thumbsup2

Yachtsman is much better than Le Cellier; unless you really LOVE steak, I would not do both on same trip. Le Cellier is so noisy and the menu selections are pretty limited now (and I may be punished for saying this, but I've had better cheese soup elsewhere).

Jiko is one of my fav's.

If you are not doing dining plan and are looking for adult atmosphere, you might want to consider Bistro de Paris in Epcot. It ranks up there very high with us, only V&A beats it. Another non-dining plan place that is very good and generally offers a more sophisticated dining experience is bluezoo.

Flying Fish is better than Narcoosees. The setting is not as nice but the food is superior.

Citricos is another place with a fairly sophisticated menu. I am not a fan of Artist Point. The ambiance is too rustic for me and the menu selections are not to my taste; however, I'm sure the food is excellent if it's something that you like. The service and presentation has always been very good here I just haven't found my "item" here that begs for me to return.

Have you considered Afternoon Tea at GF? That would be a fun mom/daughter dining experience.

I love Artist Point, Flying Fish and Le Cellier. Out of those three I have tried I like Artist Point the best!

I enjoyed Artist Point, the venison spring rolls and buffalo sirloin steak were both very good!

Oohh la la, OP! I hope when my DD grows up she'll remember all the character meals I took her to and pays me back with a mother-daughter trip to V&A chef's table! :rotfl:

I also love the idea of the GF afternoon tea for two elegant ladies such as yourselves!

Have a GREAT time with your mommy!

LOL! I'm in my 20s and definitely remember all the character meals! Now my DM pays for the trip and I pay for the food :thumbsup2

We've been to WDW so many times that sometimes you just need to splurge and try something new (and close your eyes when signing the check!!:rotfl2: )

I've thought about the tea, but I'm not sure if it's something we'd both enjoy. Hmmm...I hadn't considered Bistro so I guess I should start looking into that too!

We loved Narcoosee's on the last trip! We used to eat there back in the day when they still had the alligator dip for the bread, but the food went downhill and we stopped until trying it once again. Now it's back to being our fav! I'll have to give FF some serious thought if you think it's even better. :)

BTW, big congrats on the Chef's Table at V&A's! Wow, I hope you do a food review on your trip. I'd love to hear about your experiences.

Yes,I'll do my best to get pics of everything and do a food review. I've been drooling over all of the other ones I've seen and will definitely do my best to share!

Thanks for all of the recs, everyone! Keep them coming!
