feeling better this morning thanks , having a chain fitted at the weekend as we have a upvc door so need smoebody to fit it. Will not be opening the door unless ive checked first although it makes me a little bit mad that you cant even feel safe in your own home.

however I am relieved it happened to me and not any of the elderly people who live on our street.

thats so awful, glad oyu are feeling better this morning. we live in west berkshire but dont use home shopping but i think i will let friends who do know.

Just reading this thread - OMG!

Just the thought of someone putting their foot in the door so i couldn't shut it would freak me out.

I hope the police were sympathetic and took this seriously - I dread to think what would happen if this guy just lost his rag!

OMG that is awful, glad you are feeling better. Unless I know who is knocking on the door or I am expecting someone I will not open it if I am in the house on my own or with the boys! Luckily it is really easy for me to check by looking through lounge window on the way to answer it. I started doing this after two different callers opened the porch door and waited inside the porch for me to answer the door, I felt that our space had been invaded and we had a new catch put on porch that can only be opened from the outside with a key, and feel much safer.
