In Defense of Bob Chapek

It is reasonable to expect a CEO to do something more then what you listed (which is the bare minimum he should be doing) , as he sees the stock tanking, guest satisfaction at an all time low, & bad press across the board.

I appreciate that he can do no right in your eyes.
He hasn’t. But he can. D23 will be the deciding factor for me. COVID and Iger won’t be an excuse for him from then on.

Here’s the thing, he can garner so much good will with the fans by doing something so easy for him. Something even better then pre pandemic. “EMH will be 3 hours instead of 2“. “For our biggest fans, Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party will now be at a bigger discount then ever before for select nights, DVC and Annual Passholders”. “The people Mover will return to Disneyland”. I can think of so many little things that can change the narrative around him.

Little things. Gotcha.

That is such a Chapek request. Iger would read the room.

I have nothing against you Jonfw2 it’s just I love the parks and really passionate about them as I’m sure you are. In my eyes though, it’s taking a bad turn and I’m just pushing and willing it to try to make it better.

Wow! First time I ever read something positive about Genie since its inception. I was wondering if that would ever happen.
I mean I've used Genie+ a couple of times and have had great success with it, but it doesn't mean I like it lol. It's annoying to use and not very consumer friendly in terms of the IT malfunctions and the learning curve.

Well, I agree with you. But Fastpass had many stops and starts and adaptations before the final product.

Which if memory serves was not nearly as popular in reality as it’s being made out here.

Oh yeah I agree with that too. Fastpass+ was also not very intuitive and was easy to manipulate by Disney pros like people on these forums (including myself).

“used as an EXCUSE in some cases”. It was free.
Nope. It was part of your ticket price and hotel price.

Regardless, I’m still waiting for you to show me some evidence that customer satisfaction is at an all time low.

This is a quote from an insider over at wdwmagic.

"Sadly, Genie+ is only going to become more expensive, not less. Executive leadership is concerned about the poor guest satisfaction regarding Genie+ but salivating to learn that the reason for such poor guest satisfaction is excess demand. Excess demand means there's room to raise the price, a lot."

It was never part of the price. To your logic, If it was, the hotel would’ve been cheaper if you decided not to attend the parks.

Look it up yourself. Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings by criticizing Chapek as a CEO.

No feelings hurt. Because none of this is personal to me.

So let’s see that evidence!

That entire thread was a super interesting read. If that insider is true, then the price is going to raise to a point where people wish it was still $15 per person.

Agreed. They know it's not working due to the amount of guests using it.

See, this is one of the things people are critical about Chapek for that is not remotely his doing: too much demand is a big cause of the issues people are having.
