In Defense of Bob Chapek

When I traveled in Feb and May, there were LL/IAS options that were only available at 7am (and we didn't travel to the parks early any day, although I did wake up to make selections/buy things).
Had both options available throughout the day in multiple parks in January and May ... these were on days we even started past 10:30A of being in the park.... granted to the example provided by the poster ... we were early risers at 8:30A.

6. Loss of development autonomy and government bond issuing authority with the potential loss of Reedy Creek Improvement District.
7. Highly placed Disney officials informing the public that they insert L.G.B.T.Q.I.A+ into Disney content whenever they get a chance with the response of some parents now dropping Disney+ because they feel they have to monitor and pre-screen content.
8. The Park Reservation system along with Disney's unilateral use of buckets to throttle passholder attendance resulting in the California litigation of Nielsen v Disney.
9. Genie+ and ILL that cost money instead of Fast Pass.
10. Park Hopping limited to after 2:00 p.m..
11. No Dining Plan.
12. No Tables in Wonderland.
13. No Trams to most of the parks from the parking lot.
14. Charging for parking at the resorts.
Option 1 Don’t go
Option 2. Don’t go
Option 3. Refer to option 1

Yes it does but the top attractions are usually gone quickly.

Not that easy when most days all that's left is Epcot.
It’s been rare for all 3 parks outside of Epcot to be sold out on the same day.

1. Forcing workers to move to Florida (now delayed).
2. Angering Hollywood studios and talent.
3. Not removing park reservation system after COVID.
4. Handling of LBGTQ issues.
5. Disney reputation dropping in public eye.

These are a few a few of the many ball drops by Chapek that are not related to COVID.
1. Companies relocate all of the time. This isn’t unique to Disney.
3. They never stated that it was temporary and from what I understand it allows them to operate more efficiently. they had a stated goal precovid that they were working on ways to improve customer experience by limiting capacity. Not a bad thing in my mind.

Im not sure that you can blame the rest on Chapek. Disney is not a one man company operating out of a strip mall office,

Can you explain why Universal has been able to allow their guests to hop anytime, no reservations needed for parks, still sell APs, and haven't removed perks for staying onsite? I realize it's a much smaller park but not much has changed compared to pre-covid days. Visitors are happy over there.

Their attendance is lower and they are looking for ways to capitalize over their competition.

High salaries? That is one of the main problems with DIsney is they don't pay enough to get great talent. Just look at their IT department. A complete joke. In Seattle Disney IT is paying half of what the competition is paying across the street.
I think he was referring to executives. We all know Disney doesn't pay squat to the underlings.

Although to be fair - for the offices that haven't been built yet for those that have relocated - this is quite possible :)

A lot of people are choosing all 3. So many people are selling their DVC contracts that it's now a buyer's market.
Read the comments section.
The discussion in the video itself tends to smoothes over many of things that are pissing people off about Disney & visiting the parks but people are quite honest when you read the comments.

Great - hopefully less daily attendance demand will lead to the end of the park reservation system, park hopping and other issues people complain about ... no take backs!

That’s my point. It’s a personal choice

I guess they are in the market to sell and keep everybody calm but I remember a time when a 50 point contract would be grabbed and gone . So it surprises me to see that type of offer to remain .
That is what is different with this market.
Glad I got rid of some points when I did . And so glad I did not buy more!

Currently the best and smartest thing would be to hold on to those cheap points that you purchased in the beginnings . It is still a satisfying feeling to own those points even tho Disney manipulates that transaction to their advantage . Making the point chart more expensive and the maintenance increase yearly.

I have been wondering if Buyers are paying attention to the nearby competition in the Orlando Timeshare Market .
If Disney doesn’t want us on their property , check out the nearby Margaritaville Vacation Club design and the exciting new Embassy Suites in same area . Apparently these are selling really fast in current marketplace.

Anyway back on topic, I doubt Mr. Chapek needs anybody to defend him so why bother?
