Dr. is testing me for this. Just wondering if anyone has had it. It causes Fifths Disease in kids.

My mom had it 20 years ago. They had no idea what was wrong with her. After a long time she got better. It wasn't until years later when we realized what she had.

My sister and brother had this while I was pregnant. It wasn't really serious at all for them and they were better in a few days. I think it may affect adults for a bit longer though. You usually aren't contagious anymore once you get the rash. Just stay away from women in early pregnancy if you can.

Both my kids and I had this about 3 years ago.... my Mother (who is NOT an animal lover) wanted desperately to blame it on our Weimaraner but alas..... the pediatrician assured me that Maddy did not give it to us! BTW- I felt worse than either one of my kids.... every (and I mean EVERY) joint in my body hurt. Good luck to you!

My sister's doctor thought that she might have it for a while, but either she didn't or it was gone by the time he tested her. From what she said, the biggest problem is that most adults shouldn't be able to get it unless they have an autoimmune disorder (she has Lupus), are undergoing chemo, or something like that. But that's just the impression that I got from talking to her. I know absolutely nothing about it.
