in case of emergency - ICE

Following the tragic events in London last week, national publicity has
been given to an initiative being jointly worked on by a member of the
East Anglian Ambulance Service in association with Vodafone. The scheme
has the backing of Simon Weston, the Welsh Guardsman who was terribly
burnt during the Falklands war.

The idea is that you store the word 'ICE' in your mobile phone contact
list and enter it against the number of the person you would want to be
contacted 'In Case of Emergency'. In the event of something happening
to you, ambulance staff, hospital staff or the police will be able to
scroll through the list, find ICE and contact the person. It is so
simple!!

That is a great idea. I have worried before about what would happen if I was involved in an accident. No one would know which people on my contact list to call. I will definately be doing this.
