Maybe this tip would be helpful to some of you...especially if you're cold natured like I am. :p

For our Dec. trip, I'm going to pack a few hand warmers...small packets that emit warmth when activated by air...just remove the pouch from the outer packet, shake to mix & activate contents. They contain all natural ingredients, are odorless, & provide warmth for up to 10 hours. (copying info on package)

They come in different sizes & are very, very lightweight & disposable. The small size is perfect to put in a pocket or in gloves to help warm hands. A little bigger size is just right to slip in an inside coat pocket to help warm your body. They even make one to slip inside shoes/boots to warm your toes.

If the temps dip, I thought I might get chilly while sitting still waiting for Fantasmic, a night parade, or Illuminations so I picked up a few of these warmers. I've used them before & they work! If it's cold during the day, I'll use them in the parks to stay a bit more comfy.

Wal Mart has a 6-pack of the hand warmers for less than $2, a 3-pack of body warmers for about the same price. The brand WM has is called HotHandS-2. You can also find these at sporting goods stores & I've seen some at Big Lots but WM had the best prices I saw around here.

We brought several of these for our NYE trip last year...and ended up enjoyed days with temps in the 80's (although we were scrambling to buy t-shirts)! I think I'll include them in our upcoming trip to ward off any cold fronts. They make good mo-jo!

That is a great tip and one I hadn't thought of!! We usually go in Feb. and always bring our fleece coats, hats and gloves. Sometimes it feels silly to pack them but we have used them 2 out of 3 times down there!

Thanks for the great tip! I'm heading to Walmart so I can take these on my December trip!

Great tip! We were waiting for Illuminations once in October, and almost froze. We could have used a few warmers then. I'll definitely be making a trip to Walmart to pick up some hand warmers & foot warmers for all 3 of us. I hate it when my piggies are cold. I never would have thought to include these on my packing list. Thanks :)

Also don't forget (and this is an expensive tip) the WDW sweatshirts will keep you warm and make great souvineers.
We too pack our cold weather gear when we go in the winter but that's more because of that "pleasant" greeting we usually get on our descent into Manchester "Welcome to Manchester, NH, where it's a balmy 10 degrees outside". We usually have the gloves and fleece jackets because we've worn them to the airport and will wear them coming home too.

Great tip!!! Last year the week before Christmas we were there and froze at night waiting for parades and shows. That was even with layers of turtle necks, sweatshirts, coats and gloves.

My poor DD's hands turned purple even with gloves. We'll sure be making a trip to WM before we go this year. They were calling for highs around 65 last year, but it didn't happen that way.

I don't get cold easily - but mother is constantly cold - thanks I will definitely get some for her!!!

Great tip!
The coldest I have ever been in my life was waiting for the CP to start about 7 years ago. I've heard it is cooler in that stop because of the water.
I think I will throw a few of those in.

If I need handwarmers at any time during our Jan. trip, I'll stay right where the picture below was taken.

Great tip! I was worrying about my hands and feet being cold during our Christmas trip as I take blood thinners and my hands and feet are ALWAYS cold! THANKS!:sunny:

Anytime after Thanksgiving you have to bring your insurance -Mojo- lol to ward off the cold. I bring hats, gloves, sweats and windbreakers. We haven't needed the hats and gloves yet in three trips. Now I will add hand and body warmers to the list. Thanks!

Farmers Almanac calls for a much colder than usual December in the South East, but I think they're going to be WRONG. :)

Anything is better than the gale force winds and cold temps outside my window right now....

Thanks for the great Tip....YOu have no idea !!

We have a Wishes Cruise booked for December 12 and think about cancelling it just about every hour of every day...thinking it will be way too cold. Driving DH crazy w/that!!
Also for MVMCP....last year was freezing....well almost ! Lanscaper at Beach Club was replacing pointsettias the next morning ...told us the temp reached 33 the night before and they were all bad!

Boy...on a side note....don't they really have LOTS and LOTS of beautiful pointsettias around everywhere at Christmas!

Just can't wait!!

What a clever idea! I'm heading out to Wal Mart tomorrow morning in search of these things, and hope that I can find some! I'm glad I read this thread!

Hey everyone, hopefully we won't need to use the warmers but I'm a 'just in case' kinda packer. My DH says I'm a world champion contingency planner...when translated, that's his polite way of saying to himself (while loading the luggage) "Good grief, what DOES she have in here?"
:earseek: :teeth:

Bill from Pa - I'm sure DH would agree with your plan! ::yes:: :hyper:

Throw those hats and gloves into your luggage. They don't take up much room. And there's nothing worse than being stuck at WDW when the weather gets bitter cold (and yes, it does occassionally in the winter) without them. Yes, Disney sells hats and gloves-for extremely high prices. Also, because so many people have to resort to buying them, Disney invariably runs out (I've seen this happen on both my bitter cold trips). I've gotten alot of looks of envy as I wore my hat and gloves while others didn't have them. So bring your hat and gloves-and don't leave them unattended!

My daughter is a cheerleader, and for the football game tonight I'm taking a few packages of these handwarmers for the girls. I wish I had known about these things last year! We have suffered through many a sporting event with cold hands and feet, but no longer!!!

Thanks foxfire for your idea!

You are VERY welcome! :)

I'm absolutely miserable when I'm cold and I thought maybe others that read the board might be the same way. I'm so glad my tip may be useful to some of you...at WDW and other places, too! ::yes:: :wave2:
