In and Out in a Day

Ellen- you can keep thinking of me because we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow! It's really not supposed to snow this much here, I remember when I was little it was a treat if it snowed here. Hope they get some good news on the pup soon.

PIO- glad things are looking up at work.

Kathy- hope things are working there way out at work.

Glynis ~ Way to go Katie :thumbsup2. Les Mis is one of my favorites.
I am over the moon for Jacob :thumbsup2 That is wonderful
Have you heard anything from the Doctor about your blood tests?

No word from the doctor, yet. He's supposed to be calling me sometime this week, but so far, nothing. I'm going to assume that no news is good news. Once this hectic week is over, I'll call my GP and see what he knows.

Hey my friends, thanks for the words of support, they truly mean so very much to me. Unfortunately things are going to get worse at work before they can get better. I do have some very supportive folks on my side. Can't say much on a public forum but I'm doing a lot of praying and way too much crying. Until I can legally prove the allegations as false, no one will hire me. My age doesn't help either. I have to apologize for not being a good friend here, I will try and catch up.

Ellen - Praying for sweet Addie, my heart just breaks when the "c" word is mentioned.

Glynis - I just love hearing all about your kiddos and their accomplishments. It truly puts a smile on my face, which is rare these days.:goodvibes I was also wondering if you got the blood test results yet.

Robyn - Wishing for some spring time for you!

Julie - Glad to see you back here!

Marilyn - Congrats to your DN, she did very well!!

I apologize if I missed anyone, my brain, by this time of the day is fried.

We had breakfast for dinner tonight...ham & swiss omelets, hash browns, maple bacon and biscuits.

Again, your supportive words mean the world to me. Love y'all.

Morning ladies,

I have a very busy day ahead of me. I have about 200 sandwiches to make and wrap here really soon. I am fixing roast beef, turkey and cheese, egg salad and cheese pinento. Not hard just time comsuming. We are hosting the last Lenten Luncheon today for 50 -60 people. I am also fixing potato soup, vegetable soup and chicken noodle. I am Courtsey Chair person for this month. Oh JOY!! I need to get the bulletins ready also. I have 3 women coming in at 11:00 to help. It should be fun.

As soon as work is over we are heading to a neighbooring town for a wrestling match for Ethan. Needless to say I will be glad when my head hits the pillow tonight.

Hopefully we don't have any other funerals as after Palm Sunday my BIG duties should be coming to an end. Pastor Tess told me yesterday that she is planning on being back on Good Friday - Thank the Good Lord!! She is doing really good, already is getting around with a cane and drove yesterday. We had a good talk.

I haven't had the heart to ask Stephanie when they are doing the biopsy on Addie. She is trying so hard to keep it together. Marty is out of town all week and won't be home til Friday. So she has gotten the news, had to relay it to Marty and start a batch of oral pills all trying not to fall apart as she wants to. Everytime we have talked she has ended up crying so I am trying not to talk about it. When they know they will let me know - probably the first person they will call. I will be glad when Marty gets home and can comfort my baby. I just pray all will be ok!!!

Kat ~ Please know you are never far from my thoughts. You can and WILL get through this. Love ya!!

Marilyn ~ Way to go for your DN. I am just sorry the record time didn't count. That is kind of poopy.

Robyn ~ I hear you on the snow. Bless your heart. We are to get another 4-6" over the weekend. But we ARE suppose to get the large amounts of snow. Moisture is moisture!! :rotfl:

Glynis ~ I agree, I am loving to hear all about your kiddos. How did Katie do last night for her audition? I sure was thinking of her.

Well the kitchen is calling my name. I had better get in there.

WFDT ~ I have no idea if I will even get dinner tonight. Maybe just a bag of popcorn. But I will have a good lunch.

Make it a great day all!!

Nancy - I'd love the recipe for the soda bread. Sounds lovely!

Well....Easter is not too far away now. I committed to working 5 days a week until Easter and then head back to 3 days a week. I am feeling a lot more comfortable about the workload as I have a lot of my pieces in play now. We'll just have to wait and see.

I think it is good that there is a light at teh end of the tunnel!

Thanks so very much for the prayers and good thoughts for Addie. No news yet, but I will let you know, when I know. Please keep praying though, I KNOW it helps!!

!

My heart is just breaking for her :sad1: Please let her know she and Addie are close in my heart.

SNOW! Not a nice word in this house lately!

It went well. She swam in a total of 8 events and made it the finals of 5 of the 6 events that had finals. Two were relays that don't have finals and the one final she didn't make it into she was an alternate.

:cheer2::cheer2:

Ellen- you can keep thinking of me because we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow! It's really not supposed to snow this much here, I remember when I was little it was a treat if it snowed here. Hope they get some good news on the pup soon.

:wave2: Snow day not such a good thing anymore!

No word from the doctor, yet. He's supposed to be calling me sometime this week, but so far, nothing. I'm going to assume that no news is good news. Once this hectic week is over, I'll call my GP and see what he knows.

Praying for good news! Please let us know when you can

Kat- I need to think before I speak, but in the meantime, do not let this defeat you! I am here f you need a shoulder, I am so angry for you!

Morning all,

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas............oh wait it's March and spring. Somebody tell that to old man weather. We have about 2" on the ground and it is snowing. We are under a winter weather advisory for tonight, winter weather warning for tomorrow into Sunday. They are forcasting 8-10" of the white stuff. They only good thing about these Spring storms is they don't stick around for long. I am just SO thankful it isn't next weekend, as Matthew will be on the roads coming home for Easter. And this weekend I have NOTHING (can you believe it) nothing to do for Saturday. Believe me getting snowed in will be wonderful. Me and my Kindle have a date.

Nan ~ You are a good friend. Don't EVER doubt that!!

Kat ~ Prayers continue!

WFDT ~ Beef stew (in the crockpot) with sourdough bread (in the bread machine). Man my house is going to smell good when I get home.

Make it a great day and have a wonderful weekend all.

For those of you who like Corned Beef and Cabbage I am posting the one I did over the weekend. It was so easy and oh so good. Enjoy!

Crockpot Corned Beef and Cabbage

Brisket
carrots
cabbage
2 cups apple juice
1 cup water

Put carrots (I just used a 1lb bag of baby carrots) in bottom of crockpot. Place brisket on top. Quarter cabbage and place on top of brisket. Mix seasoning packet (that comes with the brisket) apple juice and water and pour over all. Cook on high 4 -5 hours or low 6-8 hours.

It can't get much easier!!

**I put mine on low before we left for church at 8:30 and didn't get home till 7. I thought it would be dry and ruined but it wasn't - it was perfect and oh so good.

Ellen- We got snow Tuesday and it was a mess. Now there is a winter storm threatening the midatlanic states and may or may not be something we need to worry about. I am over Winter! I agree that the snow never stays but March snow is heavy and wet and that is where the problems start! You stay safe in your Winter Wonderland!

I have a midterm due on SUnday so I should be busy. So far I have not accomplished anything :confused3

I have to say I am a little jealous of the snow everyone else is getting. We got very little this year and were so wanting at least one "real" snow day. They did close school one day because the predictions were for lots and we ended up with a couple inches that only stuck to the grass.

Tonight I am riding with my BFF to PA to drop off her son and his GF at a youth retreat. They both have things to do after school and won't be able to ride the bus up there.

Morning all. Saturday morning here and the weather is starting to cool down (finally!!!). There is definitely moisture in the air and it is beginning to feel cold.

It's going to be a busy weekend but I'm determined to pop in and out on the Dis.

Happy Monday girls,

Nan ~ I am so over this snow. If I was a violent person and had a gun I would shoot that D%#@ groundhog.

Marilyn ~ I wish I could send you some of the white sutff, but we really do need the moisture, I just wish it would come in the form of rain. :lmao:

PIO ~ You are cooling off and someday (I have no idea when) we will start getting warmer. It was 12 degrees when I left the house this morning.

We got another 6" of wet heavy snow. It is pretty much gone so that was nice. But it is still really cold.

My Saturday was not what I envisioned but was fun none the less. We spent the day with the girls and grandbabies. It was snowing/blizzarding out so we spent the day baking. What fun.

WFDT ~ Chicken salads, cheddar biscuits and hot tea.

Make it a great day!!

Well we are in for more snow tonight. Blah. We did get snow the end of last week and it was the prettiest snow we had all winter. It looked like a painting, the trees were perfectly coated.

Ellen- sounds like a perfect weekend even if your plans changed a bit.

I'm taking advantage of the Easter sales and we are having a ham for dinner. Guess that's all the excitement on my life! Have a great day all.

Another day in the high 80's/low 90's today. More of the same for tomorrow. I am so hanging out for a little colder weather.

Nancy - thanks for the recipe.

Ellen - prayers for Addie. Keep us updated.

Glynis - I hope you got some good news.

Kat - Thinking of you lots. I hope things resolve themselves at work. It does not sound like a good situation at all. If there is anything I can do......

Robyn - We don't get snow in Melbourne city; so it all sounds very pretty to me right now.

Keep well everyone.

So we dodged a snowy bullet yesterday! We were one of the lucky areas that was just overcast, if the weather demon got frisky we would have gotten slammed!
PIO the snow is epecially pretty in March but b then I am usually so sick of it I don't care.

Hectic days! I will be back later!

Marilyn ~ I wish I could send you some of the white sutff, but we really do need the moisture, I just wish it would come in the form of rain. :lmao:

We actually ended up getting some Monday and enough to get a snow day. :yay:

Well we are in for more snow tonight. Blah. We did get snow the end of last week and it was the prettiest snow we had all winter. It looked like a painting, the trees were perfectly coated.

Our snow this week was just like that.

Friday night was fun and hilarious. :rotfl: The retreat place was actually 3 hours away so a 6 hour drive total, didn't get home until 3am. We had my two godsons, the oldest ones GF and another boy who is a friend of the younger godson. There was singing, squealing, laughing, fighting, crying, and dinner from Roy Rogers. :rotfl:

My BFF has GPS on her phone that she "affectionately" named Pita, :thumbsup2. This place was in the middle of nowhere. Pita tells us to make a right turn onto a dirt road which everyone swears is the right place. Then it tells us to make a left turn, right into a dead end. We could see the place right up at the top of this hill so we were in the neighborhood.

We go back out to the main road and go down a little further and see the sign for the place. Well it had snowed and the road to the place was also a dirt road so we turned right just past the sign into what we thought was a road, we could see tire tracks, but turns out it was a field. :rolleyes1 Luckily it did head to the actual road.

Morning everyone. Happy Good Friday!!

I have had a very busy week. I only work til noon today and have a lot to do but I just had to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Easter. It has been great having Pastor Tess back. We have gotten alot done. Holy Week is almost as busy in the life of a church as during Advent. But as soon as it is over things will REALLY slow down. I have a huge pile of things I have put off doing until it is slower.

Matthew is home, he got home about 8 last night. I hated leaving him this morning. He hasn't been home since early Feb. so it was time.

We are spending Easter with Doug's sister and family. We will all be together and I am really looking forward to it. I have an easter egg hunt all set for the Grandbabies. I can't wait. Should be fun.

***Update of sorts on Addie. They did a biopsy on Tuesday, but couldn't read it then so had to send it out. I am hoping that is good news. They couldn't say it was cancer right off so maybe, just maybe it won't be. They said it will take 2 -3 weeks to get results. I think that is awful. But it is what it is and we are all now playing the waiting game. She is still her fun and full of life self, so for that we are thankful.

WFDT ~ Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes with white gravy, corn and homemade dinner rolls.

Make it a great day and Have a Blessed Easter Weekend!!

Happy Easter everyone. May it bring you all the peace and good news that we all wish for.

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope you are all doing well, and having a wonderful, glorious day!

I'm so sorry I haven't been around lately. Extremely busy plus major computer problems equals very little time to catch up. I'm jumping back in right where I am!

Good morning everyone,

Hope you all had a Blessed Easter.

We had a lovely day. We went to sunrise service with our Hispanic congregation. What a blessing. Then they wanted us to stay for their special breakfast. It was a soup, similiar to pasole, but with tripe. I tried a couple of bites but couldn't do it. It had a real funny smell and texture that I just couldn't get around. Doug didn't like it either. Church was beautiful and Doug sang a solo that brought tears to my eyes. We then went to Doug's sisters house for the day. We had a delicious meal and then we had an easter egg hunt for the littles. Oh what fun that was. Lilly isn't walking yet (almost, another week I am betting) and she couldn't crawl fast enough to her eggs. Liam who is walking was precious with his ohhhhhhs. And of course Ethan was excited to see what was in all of his eggs. What fun!!! The weather was so nice, almost 70, so we sat outside on the patio and us girls drank wine and just talked while the babies played. Ethan played in the hot tub - he was in heaven.

PIO & Glynis ~ Good to see you. Pop in whenever you can.

WFDT ~ French bread pizzas and a kitchen sink salad.

Make it a great day all.
