Kat- I am still in awe over your birthday surprise. You deserve that treatment though, your guys know that!

Back out for now! I have to get tot teh store for some kind of bread and a dessert for this evening. The guys who work for Buddy are coming for a late dinner and I need a few things.

Our dinner at Emeril’s was so special. Kyle goes to school with one of the hostesses there and she was responsible for our seating and the very special attention I got. Needless to say I wrote that sweet girl a thank you note first thing Sunday.

Vickie – Hang in there momma! You raised an amazing boy and you continue to set a good example during the trying times. He’s not going to be perfect and will give you some headaches but that’s all part of watching them grow up, make mistakes and mature. I will always be here for you. Believe me, Kyle gave me many headaches…in fact he still does.

Glynis – I’m so glad to hear the fire is almost completely out, prayers answered!!! Sounds like Katie is going to have a great party. Sneak some pics if you can.

Nan – I hope things went well today. We all fall off that diet wagon. For me, it’s not food, it’s cocktails and wine.

Glynis - What a relief the fires are out, I was readin your posts and was in awe of how calm and orginised you were.

Kat- I agree that you deserve all that is wonderful! I know you and I talked about how teens seem to sneak up on you, one minute you think you are home free and then BANG! They remind you that they are not perfect But Boy, is it worth it!

Vickie- if you look back far enough you will see several of us discussing those growing up years and none of us forgot the good the bad and the ugly. So we all understand how hard this transition is for you. Exciting for the Boy but hard on Mom.

We did okay in Probate today. Cathy just about collapsed into her husband's arms when out lawyer walked in and introduced himself. Our lawyer advised the judge (Our last judge passed away suddenly) about her previous behavior and explained we were simply being proactive in order to avoid that happening again. This judge had just told us that his mentor was the last judge so he popped right up when our attorney said he had removed Cathy as Conservator.

The sad thing is that there is no money here to speak of. Cathy is inheriting over 66% of the estate and Buddy and his brother are okay with that. They are angry that we had to go this route just to ensure that they are given an accounting of the estate and to make sure that they have access to any mementos that belonged to their Dad. For that it is worth every penny we are spending. Buddy's Mom was not buried with his Dad and it is breaking their hearts that their Dad is alone. We are asking to have access to the burial plot deed. This is what matters to them. Not any of the money, she can have it.

Nancy - I'm so sorry that things are hard for Buddy. I'm so glad he has you to support him!

Vickie - It's so nice to see you popping in!!!

It's going to be 103 degrees here, today. I have a dentist appointment for a cleaning at noon, so that's the only time we'll be heading out. The girls are all going swimming with friends, so it will just be the boys and me. I'm thinking we'll stop for snow cones on the way home from the dentist.

Dinner tonight will be ranch house pork chops in the crock pot with garlic mashed potatoes. Yum! I've got some green beans I'll cook up to go along with it. Real comfort food!

We got most of the food for Katie's party, yesterday. She spent the evening making signs and menus to post on the wall. She's really excited about this! I hope her friends will humor her. Most of them are not real Beatles fans, so it could be kind of boring for them. Oh well.

Oh Vickie! Poor boy! Of course the little one is in my prayers. Please let us know how he is doing!

So there is always a light when things look so dark. My DH and his brother had words ( LOUD WORDS) and have not spoken for years. My DBIL does not speak to many people and I have been so worried for him. Anyway, I have been keeping him updated since We took over care of his Mom and continued after her death. He generally returns my call but he and Buddy still kind of avoiding each other. They work together so this is awkward. Both have told me that they would do what was needed together so I figured that this was a start. Today Bud had enough and he talked to him about the house. I have been heartbroken over the *******, they really love each other. I am praying that their snit is over!

Nan – Sometimes I just can’t figure people out…smh. But your last post proves that things can and do change! Praying this all gets resolved soon.

Vickie – Enjoy Magic Mike! I sure wish I was going with you, how fun would that be! Prayers for your nephew on the way.

Glynis - Can't believe I'm envious of your dentist visit. Things have gotten so bad here I am on a waiting list to get into the LSU Dental school. All of that work I wanted to have done can be done 1/2 price there but I've got a chipped front tooth that really needs to be fixed.

So I have more in the G family saga and I am furious! I knew that Bud's Mom had savings bonds for all of them, Buddy got most of his on our wedding day. We spoke to the lawyer and he was going to ask about them but in the meantime I checked ours (buddy refused to use them) and went to the US Treasury site to search for my DBIL and my DSIL and filled in the form for Charlene. She called her son (slimy 45 YO sack of wasted air) and told him what I was doing for her. Oh dear!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He "forgot" he had them and was hold them JIC> She told him that he better call me to call off the attorney and the US Treasury. I insisted he bring them here and I would take it from there. I am so mad, I asked him if he had taken anything out of that house and he got very defensive, told me that he did not but that if there was a "problem" it was on him. No, it is on everyone.

As much as I cannot stand Buddy sister I don't blame her for changing those locks. I told this guy not to go into the house and he has been rummaging around since his grandmother died. God knows what he took and how this is going to impact the integrity of the rest. There is enough tension and he continues to make things worse, greedy little so and so that he is!

We are pretty much ready for Katie's party tomorrow. I just need to get Alan to hang some old records from the ceiling for decorations, and get the food ready. I'm making the cake (s) today, but everything else will get done in the morning. Unfortunately, Katie went boating on Tuesday and came home royally burned! She is in some real pain. We spent the day yesterday applying strong tea to the burns and it really helped. Of course, then she went to bed, and woke up stiff and sore. Blisters have formed, as well. She was hurting so badly, she begged me to cancel her party. I told her no, since I'm pretty sure she'll be feeling a bit better by tomorrow, and would really regret canceling! She may dance a little slower, but she'll be fine!

Dinner tonight will be tacos for the kids, and taco salads for Alan and me.

I'm out for a bit, as I have laundry to fold and a cake to make!

Kat- Not much cooking here. We have the Fireman's Carnival tonight. Buddy is prepared to take Kady alone if she wants that. Lately she is having a hard time sharing him. I think that while she is so good with Nola and Rylee she sometimes feels that she should have him all to herself. Marisa and I will make sure to be there for the Fireworks if that happens. And Fried Dough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our carnival has the absolute best!

Marisa is picking me up to bring Sassy to the vet. She really does not feel well lately.She eats fine but is congested. This congestion just started a few days ago but I hesitated to bring her. She is 19 years old and has been failing since we lost Punkin. She gets so upset going to the vet but there is no alternative. Marisa thinks it is probably time but I need the vet to help me decide. She is a scruffy old girl since Punkin and has started to be a bit confused but is a sweet little thing. I'll let you know how we all make out when I am back in

I'm making 2 sheet cakes. One a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. On that, Katie is writing "The Beatles" and we are stenciling the album cover of Abbey Road (The Beatles crossing the road). The other one a strawberry cake to represent "Strawberry Fields Forever" which is Katie's favorite Beatles song. Truly, the girl is obsessed! She even found Tic Tacs called Strawberry Fields. She bought enough for everyone coming to the party. It's going to be interesting to see what her friends think. Only one of them likes the Beatles as well, and that is the one friend that can't make it to the party. Oh well. Should be interesting!

Well my little Sassy is gone. The vet found a tumor in her throat. She was 19 YO . She was such a sweet little girl and the last one of my barn kitties. I don't know why I thought that the vet could give her something, I was hoping it was a bad cold but I really knew better. The vet felt it was better to let her go so she gave her some medicine. Kady was with us and I am so sorry that happened. I should have just brought her myself but she was scared of going to the vet and I did not want her in a crate because she would cry.

Buddy took Kady to the fireman's carnival and they met Welby and the girls there. Marisa and I went to supper and then met them all for the fireworks display. I think that Marisa was able to help Kady work it out, she was smiling after telling Kady that Sassy had a matching pink cast with Trouble. Kady said poor Trouble would be teased a lot for wearing pink....big bad boy that he was.
