In and Out in a Day

Can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve checked in here! I’ll try and get caught up.

Nan & Ellen – Not only does my boy have a new gal he’s got a great new job! He’s the front desk attendant at a pretty ritzy country club’s golf & fitness center. Now for the bad news, he has torn something in his throwing arm and will go for an MRI next week. Coaches think it could possibly require surgery.:sad1:

Ellen – You must be so excited knowing that Elizabeth & Jay will be close by and right there with Stephanie & Marty. You couldn’t ask for any more!!! I’m sad Matthew didn’t get the job but it sounds like it was probably for the best.

I'm going to try and check in daily. Out for now.....

Lady, I am so glad to see you. I really miss you.
I am over the moon happy for Kyle. I am happy about the new gal. Do you like her? And his new job sounds wonderful amazing. Matthew would love a job in a pro shop. Good for him!!
Now on the other hand I am so sad about his arm. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and he will be ready for next season. Please keep us posted.
Thanks for the kind words - I really appreciate them.

What a weekend. The Toby Keith concert was in a 2 1/2 hour rain delay. We were soaked to the bone but we stuck it out. He finally came out to play about 11:30 and played till 1 am. It was awesome!!

We got the apartment all cleaned and boy does it smell better. :rotfl2: We all feel better.

The benefit was a complete success. We raised over $9000 for Justin & Karen. :cool1:

Ethan's birthday was fun. But the best part was we were a bit late and by the time we got there the EVIL MIL was leaving. Jay's Mom is a real peice of work - enough said. But with her not there we had a great time.

I had to come to work to rest. We are getting ready for our Church Garage sale. This a major fundraiser for the Panama Mission Trip so I am in charge. Oh joy!! But I will soldier on.

Make it a great day and I am now out!

Ellen - I haven't met her yet. Kyle is taking this VERY slowly as he's definitely gun-shy. I'm loving the look on his face when he talks about her.:cloud9: He had to re-schedule his MRI because he started his new job today. I'll let you know when it's re-scheduled for. We can use all the prayers we can get.

Johnny loves Toby Keith, we'd love to see him one day. We saw Miranda Lambert on Saturday and we both said it was the best concert either of us has ever seen. That little thing packs a punch and she is a ball of energy!!!

Glad to hear the benefit was so successful and Ethan's party was fun!

Quick update on Kyle's arm. He only had orientation at work today and was able to make it to his MRI. News is not good, but could be worse. His labrum is torn. Surgery would mean his baseball career would virtually be over. The doctors are going with a new combo of injections and intense daily rehab and hopefully he'll be able to salvage his last season.

Where is everyone??????

Good Morning All!!!!!!!!!!

Kat- Marisa and I have been in Vermont visiting Debbie. She is a bit isolated IMO so not much DISing for us. I am sorry that Kyle hurt his arm but hopeful that the treatments will help. Surgical intervention is a last resort. I am also happy that he did not dive in to this relationship and is taking it slow. When Donny was seeing Dawn they went from 0 to 60 (turns out she did, he had no clue) and it was just too fast.

Ellen- I would have loved to see Toby Keith. One of my favorite concerts was a Country Music Fest.. It had been held at the Big E fairgrounds for several years and some folks complained that it should be in CT. Okay, off we go to Goshen or Hebron, I forget which one that year and it started to pour. Travis Trit was the last performer and he sang for well over an hour. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He said if we got wet so too would he. :goodvibes

So we had a great time visiting Deb. I am really glad she has that big bad dog who would die for her. Folks just stop by and ask if "The Trooper" can watch this or check that. I know she is fine but it makes me uneasy that she is so exposed there. She certainly loves her job!

We are all fine here. Marisa and I managed not to cheat on our diets but it was hard. Deb took us sightseeing and there weer wonderful ice cream shops everywhere as well as lovely places to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. No......water and cucumbers. But we have a goal and losing weight for Disney is it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in~

Kat ~ Oh darn it on Kyle's arm. I was so hoping it would be an easy fix. I do agree though that surgery should be a last resort. Hopefully the PT and injections will work. Hugs and prayers.
I so hear you on Kyle being gun shy. I think our boys are alike. I remember his heart was broke right before Matthew's. I think him and Liz dated for 3 months before we met her. They have been together for almost a year now and if I had to be truthful I still think Matthew is looking over his shoulder for something to happen. And I really don't think it will. She is a real sweetheart and is so good to him. I just think it is going to take some time, and Matthew is taking it VERY s.l.o.w.

Nan ~ I am so glad you and Marisa had fun on your time away. I am also very proud of you for sticking to your diets.

I didn't make it here yesterday. For a few days I was the only one that posted. So I skipped a day. I really wish we could keep this thread going. It is so great to talk to you all again. You have no idea how I have missed you.

It is really hot here today. Yesterday is reached 111 but today it is to be cooler at only 102. As far as I am concerned that is just a few degrees hotter then HE**. I don't like the heat and especially the humidity. Thank goodness I work inside!!

Make it a great day everyone.

Nan – I’m glad y’all had a nice time visiting Deb. I’m glad she has big bad dog, I’d be worried about her too.(But, I guess we are good at worrying) Good for you & Marisa on sticking to your diets!!!!!:thumbsup2

Ellen – I plan on posting here every day but it looks like the thread is dying unfortunately.:sad1: I’m glad to hear that Matthew & Liz are doing well and glad to hear that taking it slow is probably the way to go for our boys. Kyle has been “dating” Sarah for 1 month. She is a couple of years older than he is, maybe that is a good thing. From the things he has said she sounds very mature. I’m dying to meet her but I can’t push.

Kyle started his rehab yesterday and he said it is grueling. Have any of you ever heard of an MRA? He had the MRI on Monday but he says he has to go back for an MRA.

I’m rambling now…..miss everyone!

I'm in for a quick note

Kat and Ellen I'm understanding all the girlfriend talk with our boys lol. My Oldest just had his 1 year anniversary with a girl he's been dating. She spends alot of time here with our family. In fact I'm having to look for an extra plane ticket as she wants to come down to florida between christmas and new years with us. But its ok I like having a girl around.

Nan- You and Marisa are strong girls sticking to your diets. I need some of that strength.

Out for now (but I'll be back)

/
Quick check in to say all is well and hello! Sorry I have not been around; the boys are keeping me busy.

I will try and get back on to read back later. Maybe I will have more time when I finish the "50" books!

Good Morning! It is HOT here!

I hope we get an update on Kyle's arm as well as his social life..........this inquiring mind loves a romance :cloud9:

Ellen- I keep seeing those searing temperatures you are experiencing and cringe! How are your animals managing in the heat? I know Buddy is worried about our crop, this heat tends to make it bud out early.

Lauri- I'm with you! I loved it when Dan and Donny brought their girls home. Marisa liked it too up to a point. SHE needed a break once in a while from being the only girl I had ;)

Lauren- Boy, your boys are getting so big! I love the pics on FB but I cannot understand when this happened :confused3

Vickie- :grouphug::grouphug: Moms here understand how you are feeling lately. Watching your "little" boy grow up and start to find their own way is sooooooooo hard. You know you have to encourage them to keep on expanding their horizon but :sad1: When Dan was a senior in HS All I did was cry. Made my whole family crazy. Buddy could barely stand to be in the same room as me and the rest of them almost refused to be seen with me. All I saw every time I looked at him was my memory of that little boy climbing the steps on the bus. He was three and the apple of my eye. But after I got some sense smacked into me :rolleyes1........

Your wonderful Boy is doing you proud already. He is a caring and compassionate young man. Like Kat's Kyle does with her, The Boy will continue to show you and everyone else that he is Vickie's son. :goodvibes

So I am grouchy today. Buddy has invited a guy he works with and his wife to go to dinner. Yes, this guy helps Bud on his equipment but I just cannot stand him. The first time he came to my house he walked around kind of inspecting the quality of our home. Now we spent a lot of money and I take care of what we have but I am not a magician. He strolled into my kitchen, looked around and then up and did the "white glove test" on my vent in the ceiling!?!?!?!?!?! and told me it was dusty! Who does that!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I kind of froze up so he never made it to my skylights..there is always a cobweb or more hiding there!

Anyway, I have never forgiven him for that and so no matter what he says I grumble. So I don't want to to go to dinner, I am trying to not cheat so I won't be able to have wine or my favorite.rolls and butter, and am in a really bad mood! Poor Buddy does not want to hear one more time that he should have just gotten him a gift certificate and called it a day

Well Bud is working today so I am going to clean my house and if he even looks at my vents I am going to lose it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day all!

I have to start making an effort to get in her more than occasionally. I've been off of work for 3 1/2 weeks and I haven't gotten any less busy!

My dad has been here visiting us this week and it's been lovely. He's napping right now, so here I am, checking in with all of my fav. ladies!

I've been busy with cooking and the blog. And spending time with my lovely family.

We went as a group to go see Brave the other day, including my dad. If you guys have a chance to go see it, please do! It's a great "out of the box" princess movie!

 all around. I WILL start checking in here more often!

!

This bit scares me a wee bit, are you threatening me with an in and out !!??

I know all you say is true, but its so hard....he is my one and only.

To all , Im so sorry for not being " in " in a while.
The boy has been dancing his wee bahookie off in shows and jams all over.
He also finished Primary school on Friday :sad1:
There was so much going on his last week,it was fun, emotional and very tiring.

I hope you are all well and hope to be back soon.

I'm here trying to figure out what I want to eat tonight for dinner! Chicken or Steak? I'm leaning towards da beef...;:cool1:

I am so sick of chicken so I am voting BEEF!!!!!!!!!!

This bit scares me a wee bit, are you threatening me with an in and out !!??

.

I would if I had to! Seriously, it will get better so cut yourself som slack!

DOn't worry about being busy, you get in here when you can

I WILL start checking in here more often!

Good because I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you had a good visit with your Dad.

We had a great time on Saturday night. DInner was very good and it was the largest cut of beef I have ever seen.

Tonight Marisa and I fell off the wagon. Buddy took us to Bruburgers and we had various burgers, onion rings, mac and cheese bites and fries. I also had a glass of wine. I missed my wine!!!!!!!!!!! Then off for sundaes. I am paying for it now. Holy Cow...............talk about ice cream and fried food remorse!

I'm IN!!! I've been gone for a week, and it feels good to be back... even if it's only for a few days. We went to my dad's house for the opening of his Festival. Good shows this year!!! Les Mis just tore my heart out!!! We are taking the kids back this weekend to see it again!

While at Dad's, Alan and I went to a college reunion for our theater department. It was so fun to see people and get closer to them, again! We are hoping to make it an annual thing, which would be so fun. Kathy - I made the sweet and sour macaroni salad for it, and it got rave reviews, again!!!

We are having a hard time with fires around our state! Alan has been called to photograph fires from the very northern most border of the state to the southern border. Then, on our way home from Dad's, he got sent to one in the West of the state, and just barely, a fire that is only about 20 miles from us. So far, we are ok, but it's really scary. The kids can't play outside because of all the smoke! We really need some wet weather. Anyone got some they could send our way!?!

I promise to be better about posting for the rest of the summer... well, except for when I'm in London. Although, I'll try to use Alan's internet card to post occasionally. Don't let the thread die while I'm gone, ok???

Glynis- I have been thinking about you! I knew you were away but did not know when you were coming home. I am so sorry about the fires, I thought that they were all in Colorado. Wicked weather, no getting around that this year. :sad2:

London is coming closer :goodvibes

It seems to be feast or famine for rain around the country. The southern states are getting some terrible storms here on the Eastern side. Yesterday we got a pretty nasty rainstorm but the really bad weather was downstate.

So Marisa and I jumped off of our diet wagon yestersay and not in a small way :upsidedow. I don't know about her but I have not eaten starchy or fried food or any desserts in well over a month and I paid for it last night. Oh well..........back on today!

We have been invited to a friend's house for the 4th. These folks are crazy generous with their hospitality and there is no way I can not eat what she cooks. So I am looking forward to one more day of excess this week.

I am also :confused3 about what to bring for our contribution. I have never gone empty handed but she really does not want me to bring anything this time. I have given her wine several times, candle things from Partylite, a little basket thing with hand care for her, I am out of ideas. I was thinking of sending a little edible arrangement to them later.

Oh well, out for now!

HI friends......... I am in!

Nan ~ Holy maloley.............I am afraid I might have hurt that man. That is so rude. Just AWFUL!!!
As far as the 4th. Just go and enjoy yourself. I am sure she just wants you to be there. You don't have to take anything..........just go and have fun.

Jen ~ Hi sweetie. I have missed you. So glad you had a good time with your Dad.

Vic ~ Oh sweetie, I so feel your pain. I was just like Nan, Matthew's senior year (so was Doug). I still miss him when I don't see him for weeks. You just come here anytime you want to vent, cry or just whine. We all understand and will listen. Bless your heart!!

Glynis ~ I am so glad you had a nice time at your Dads. How is he feeling?
I bet you are getting excited for London. It is getting closer. We have been watching the Olympic trials. Last night they announced the Mens and Womens gymnastic teams. We also watched the swimming. They are in Omaha - I would love to go some year.

We are totally burning up here on the plains. We haven't had rain for over a week and 100+ temps EVERY day with 75%+ humidity. It is just horrible here. I feel so sorry for anyone that has to be out in it. I have seen work in the morning and late at night. It is just to hot during the afternoon.

Stephanie went back to work today. :sad2: She was not looking forward to it. We are staying with Lilly this first week just to help her transition back. Doug is with her today and tomorrow and I will go Thursday and Friday. I feel so sorry for her. That is why I stayed home with my babies. There is NO way I could ever leave them. She has a wonderful job that will afford her to do some work at home, so that is why she is going back. Plus her daycare lady is a real sweetheart. They will all be ok, it is just hard for now.

Out for now.........

Lauri – I understand you enjoying having a girl around. I’m wishing for one so badly. I need someone to go see “Magic Mike” with!!!

Lauren – I miss you terribly!!!!!:sad1:

Nan – Kyle is doing well, thanks for thinking of him. His rehab is going well, after only one week he’s feeling the benefits. Yesterday he said “I think I can throw”. I jumped all over that one, he cannot throw until the trainer and doctors clear him. Why do kids today have no patience????

Jen – I miss you!!! I hope your Dad made it home safely.

Vickie – I know exactly how you feel. It’s especially tough when you only have one child. At times when you are feeling uneasy about “letting go” just remember that you & Colin taught him well, not only with your words but with your actions. He’s going to be fine and so will you, my friend. Feel free to come here and cry, vent, whatever. We love you!

Glynis – Glad to hear y’all had a great week and also glad the macaroni salad was a success! The fires out that way are heartbreaking. Praying for all and wishing some rain your way.

Ellen – Praying for some heat relief your way, it sounds just miserable. I feel for Stephanie and will keep her in my prayers. It’s so tough to leave them.:sad1:

Out for now....

Morning, everyone! It's almost 11:00 here and I'm still in my pj's! It feels kind of good to be lazing around the house. I've got the laundry going, dishes are being washed, and the house is all tidied, so I'm enjoying some down time.

I guess I really ought to get myself in gear and get out to the store. Haven't been since we got back from dad's, and we are in a sorry state. Almost out of milk and toilet paper, and we can't live without those items, now, can we?

Dinner is up in the air. I need to see what I have, and what I need. However, I'm not sure what sounds good. It's going to be hot, so I need to keep that in mind. Maybe we'll do some kind of salad. Don't know for sure. Off to search for something!

Lauri – I understand you enjoying having a girl around. I’m wishing for one so badly. I need someone to go see “Magic Mike” with!!!:laughing

Kat my thought was imagine how much fun it would be if all of us from wfd all went togather o and Vic would have to be in that night. Way to much fun.

I'm in!

Ellen- I cannot believe the weather that you are experiencing. Holy Heatwave!!!!!!!!!! I remember when Marisa went back to work. She was leaving Kady with Jeff and she only worked two miles from home but it was hard. I can imagine how hard your DD is having it, leaving your precious baby is never easy. :sad1: Thank goodness you and Doug are close-by and that her daycare lady is wonderful. Welby told me that leaving Nola was horrible but she knew that I would care for her like she was my own so that made a difference. I bet Stephanie will have some comfort knowing her caregiver will do the same.

Glynis- Dinner is rough when it is hot!

KAt- keep that boy away from the ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marisa and i ran all day and started wine tonight. We started one batch and I got all the equipment cleaned and ready to sanitize so I will make some more tomorrow.

I did want to tell you all that we had a great time on Saturday. The guy we were with was not that guy inspecting my vents :confused3. Maybe his wife has a really good influence on him!
