In and Out in a Day

Morning girls,

Kat ~ I am so excited for you and Johnny. Your trip is fast approaching and you got all the ADRs you wanted. :cool1: California Grill is my absolute favorite place to eat. Good for you!!

Robin ~ You are SO right - we need some hot and sunshine.
Enjoy your peace and quiet - I SO understand that!!

We were woke up this morning with a thunderstorm rolling through. I shot right out of bed - it was really really loud. And now it is cloudy and raining again. We really do need some hot sunshine for the crops to finish. Plus the temp. is only high 60s. REALLY? Really!! It is August for heaven sake. This is so unusual.

WFDT ~ Rump roast (I put it in the crock pot before I left), tomato and cucumber salad, corn on the cob and yeast rolls.

Make it a great day!!

Kathy, yes, we are looking for a larger home. Ellen, we are staying in the same general area. We wouldn't move away from Laura and the kids! One of the reasons we are buying a larger place is so that they can have bedrooms at our house. They pretty much move in with us on the weekends and the current place is a little crowded :crowded:

We have toured six homes so far and two of them are in contention. We are seeing one more tonight, going back for a second look at one of the two we are considering tomorrow, then touring four more on Saturday. Hopefully we will make a decision from there. We have already decided that if we don't find what we want at the price we want to pay then we are going to put our stuff in storage and rent something on a temporary basis rather than settling. We have to be out of our current home by October 31st. It sold in 72 hours!

WFD: I have some leftover fried chicken in the fridge, so probably that with a salad.

:worship: You are an amazing person Becky, and a Sister/Aunt anyone would be proud to have. I hope and pray you find the perfect house and can move in and get settled soon. Wow - 72 hours that is amazing.

:wave2: Hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend.

I started a new class last night and I LOVED it. Can't wait to go back. You all know how I love my Zumba classes - well this one was called Zumba Fitness. We used weights along with the non stop dancing. I thought I would be sore today but I am not. We really used our arms and legs.

Tomorrow is my longest walk/run at 8 miles. Wish me luck!!

WFDT ~ grilled hamburgers, potato salad and applesauce.

Make it a great day!

Hi ladies!

Looks like we may be in for a wet weekend due to that tropical disturbance in the Gulf. Rain or shine we are going to a restaurant in the French Quarter tomorrow night that I've been wanting to go to. Here's a link:

http://www.muriels.com/

Becky - Wow, your house sold in 72 hours, that's amazing!! I hope y'all find the perfect place. Laura and the kids are so lucky to have you guys but I'm sure you feel like the lucky one getting to spend so much time with them!

Has anyone here tried Ina Garten's Spicy Turkey Meatball recipe? I tried it last week and honestly I don't think I can ever use another meatball recipe...they are phenomenal!!!:worship:

Kyle has been on vacation in Key West this week and I really miss my boy! He'll be home on Sunday.:goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Morning Girls,

Kat ~ I was so excited for you and Sheryl. You are so lucky to be able to have signature places to go to. That is the trade off for living in a wonderful town like NO.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you have a great Monday. :flower3:

I got my long walk in on Saturday - 7 miles. I was ready to be home by the time I got there. I have NO idea how I am going to do 13.1 miles. I really need to step it up. But I wasn't to sore and recovered quickly, which I was thrilled about. I just need to keep it up.

Went to Church yesterday then out to lunch. Doug's Dad stopped by in the afternoon so we just sat and talked. It was a nice afternoon. Elizabeth and the boys came out and we decided to go to town for dinner. SCORE - I didn't have to cook. What a ball that was - Liam (19 months old) keeps this Nanny busy. You forget how busy they are. Wow!! But oh so much fun. I can't think of a better way to spend the evening.

WFDT ~ Vegetable quiche, green salad and sweet tea.

Make it a great day!!

Hi! :wave2: I'm back for my monthly hello. I'm sure I could say something tag-worthy to accompany that phrase. :upsidedow

72 hours! That's amazing! I've been watching House Hunters lately; I've seen a few episodes in Boston. The housing market looks pretty intense. Good luck!

I am SOOOO far off my training schedule it's ridiculous. I think I had 9.5 miles on the schedule for this weekend? I don't know. The last "long" training "run" I did was about a month ago and it was 4 miles. I need to get back on track SOON! :scared:

Trying to catch up.....thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. This cough just won't go away right now; but it's a lot better than this time last week.

Becky - Congrats on selling the house. Hope you find something to buy real soon!

It's life as normal here. Work, family and sleep.

PIO I read a while ago that chocolate helps with a cough. Who am I to question science and an excuse to eat more chocolate :lmao:

Becky Good luck finding a new home pixiedust:

Well Mr A is officially a college man now. :scared: Me I am all :upsidedow
I need to find my way very soon. I am afraid I am going to gain the freshman 15. So far I have had chips n salsa, popcorn and a BLT for dinners oh I almost forget chips n dip.;)

Hi all! First day of school here! Check facebook for some pictures. They'll be coming up in a few minutes. Not sure how I feel about this! I have a child in high school, a child in middle school, 2 kids in elementary school and one in preschool. Sigh! I'm definitely feeling my age today!

Not sure what we'll have for dinner. Something fun, though, to celebrate!

PIO - Please get that cough looked at! My niece had a cough that she thought was the tail end of a cold. However, it hung on and on. After about 3 weeks, she noticed that her 9 month old baby was coughing and gasping for breath. She took her to the doctor and was told that it is Pertussis. She gave whooping cough to her baby! The doctor said in adults that it's not anything different than a cough that seems to linger, but it is Whooping cough (pertussis), and very deadly to babies and elderly people. Just something to think about. Sandy is devastated that she brought it home to her family. The baby is in the hospital on a respirator, and the other 7 kids are all sick as well. Luckily, they are older, so it's nothing an antibiotic won't handle, but it's scary for the baby who turns blue every time she coughs.

Yes! That is my favorite meatball recipe! I do make two changes, which is that I use roasted garlic chicken sausage instead of the pork sausage, and I leave out the proscuitto because I don't like it. They are so tasty! Even people who say they hate turkey meatballs like them. Sometimes I use sharp provolone instead of the asiago cheese and that is really good too.

Glynis, I saw all of the kids except Timmy on facebook. They are getting so big! Happy first day back to school :)

PIO, I hope your cough goes away soon, that is really annoying.

WFD: I think John and I are going out someplace.

Good morning everyone!

Ellen - You're doing great if you did a 7 mile walk! When do you have to do 13.1? You're over half way there!:thumbsup2

PIO - I agree with the other ladies, get that cough checked out.

Janice - When is the first time A gets to come home? My heart breaks for you, I know how hard it is, but believe me it does get easier.

Glynis - My how the time has flown. I remember when all of your gang were little ones!!

WFD - Took a container of those yummy turkey meatballs out of the freezer. Just need to cook the pasta, throw together a salad and call it a day!

I'm going to have to look for the roasted garlic chicken sausages, that sounds great!:goodvibes Johnny & Kyle were NOT excited when I said I was making turkey meatballs but that changed as soon as they took one bite!!!

You can do it. I just finished re reading your Princess trip report. You truly are my inspiration.

Doug sounds just like you. He has a cough that just won't go away. Now that I read Glynis' post I am really worried. I am going to make him go to the Dr. These babies of ours can't get Pertussis. That is some nasty stuff.

Doug is my Chocolate freak. He LOVES it!! I will tell him your remedy. He will love it.
Sweetie, my heart is breaking for you because I was right there with you when Matthew left for college. As Kat says, it does get better, but while you are going through it, it just sucks. Keep busy, go for a walk, talk to friends and don't be afraid to cry and be sad. It is ok to be sad. Just remember though - It will be easier. Hugs my dear friend!!!

Glynis ~ I saw your pictures on FB. They are all darling. I love the one of Timmy. Bless his heart he looks so proud. What are you going to do with a quiet house and some no kid free time? I know what you mean - I had a senior in high school and one in Kindergarten. Talk about feeling old!!

Becky ~ How is the house hunting going? Found anything you like yet?

Kat ~ Ok ok I need the recipe for these meatballs. They sound amazing. Please post it for me, I would really really appreciate it. You have now made me hungry for them. :)

It is already hot out today. But that is a good, really good thing as the crops really need some hot weather to finish. There was a report out yesterday that the corn has really suffered with the cool temperatures we have had. So this hot spell is just what we need. It is suppose to maybe get to triple didgets today. Now this is what August is suppose to be like.

I got in a short (3 mile) walk in last night. Doug worked out in the yard and I puttered in my flowers. It was a really nice evening and the lightening bugs were our beautiful fireworks.

WFDT ~ French Dip sandwiches, cantaloupe, cucumber salad and sliced tomatoes.

Make it a great day!

I am trying not to dwell on it. He probably won't be able to actually come home until Thanksgiving. I will of course go visit before. That is just too long of a time.

Tonight is the first time I am actually cooking instead of snacking. :thumbsup2
Grilling Italian sausage and having a tomato salad.

I remember a couple of years ago A got Whooping cough. It was all over here, now the schools are requiring a booster.

First day of school! And stretched across from pre-school to high school...that's a lot to juggle!

How scary for your niece and her family. Please keep us posted on how the baby is doing.

You can do it. I just finished re reading your Princess trip report. You truly are my inspiration.

Awww, thank you! Perhaps I should go read my trip report for inspiration!

Bethany- hi! Are you back to school yet?

Janice- I'm sorry you are having a hard time, I'm sure we will too when that time comes. I guess that's the problem with having an awesome kid- they are harder to let go of.

Ellen- you are an inspiration too! When you list all you accomplish in a regular day, I honestly have no idea how you do it all.

Kathy- I'll have to try those meatballs. I usually make turkey meatballs but I don't use a recipe. I love having a few meals in the freezer ready to go.

Glynis- that's a lot of schedules to keep track of!

PIO- glad the cough is getting better but sorry you still have it.

Same old, same old here- just how I like. Just enjoying the last couple of weeks of summer vacation.

Good Morning Girls! I am behind, but that is the story of my life lately!

PIO- I agree with the others. Please get your cough checked. If it is nothing, you have peace of mind.

Janice- I am so sad for you right now. I know it is different, but I was so lost when Dan moved away, and he had been out of the house for a few years. There was a hole in my heart. :sad1: Ellen and Kat are right, it will get better.

Glynis- where have the years gone? I remember the first "first day of school" you posted, and now they are so grown up :sad1: And Timmy in preschool? My goodness!

Please keep us posted about the little one.

Ellen- Doug and I will eat chocolate! YUM! I don't know where you get your energy. I have been a lost soul this summer. My yard is nto done, my house is not done, and I have not walked a mile. I am a slug!

Kat- I remember when K went to college! It seems like yesterday. How is he doing?

Piglet- Stop berating yourself! You always make your goals, and you have had a lot on your plate this year. Have a great first day at school!

Becky- Donny and Anna are still looking for a house in town. Donny needed to do a short sale on his condo, so he cannot get another mortgage for a year or so, but Anna is going to try to qualify on her own. They make me smile, he likes an open floor plan, but does not want big bedrooms. he told her that the did not wait all his life for a family to watch them all disappear into bedrooms. She wants 4 BR, and 4 baths. All I said was that I would not want to clean it! In the end, they will find one that works for both, but in the meantime :faint:

Girls, we are still cutting that darn crop! It is the crop in the field from H! I gave up on the floors. Last night we were making sandwiches (Both of us have been craving tomato sandwiches!) and I dropped some on the floor. Oh my Stars :crazy2: The floor never shows dirt, but the paper towel was filthy! Buddy just said "It is a dirty time of year." Understatement!

The problem is that when we break I take all the girls back to my house and the dirt gets dropped from the shoes, pants, etc. I sweep it up, but have not bothered to wash the floors. Now I am squirming, just thinking about it!

Oh, well. BBL!

Janice- I'm sorry you are having a hard time, I'm sure we will too when that time comes. I guess that's the problem with having an awesome kid- they are harder to let go of.

Same old, same old here- just how I like. Just enjoying the last couple of weeks of summer vacation.

You said it! Your kiddo will not be easy to let go! Marisa teases Kady that she is already measuring her room for shelves and gizmos for her scrapbooking habit. But there is no way she will be able to let her go. She will probably be rooming with her! LOL! Jeff works nights so the tow of them do everything together already.

Enjoy your Summer!

WOW! Practically a full board of Diners! Nice to see everyone!!!!!

Janice - I will try the chocolate trick but it won't be good for the weight loss! And I hope that when you work it out, you'll share. That'll be me in about 5 years.

Glynis - The pictures are fantastic! Appreciate the concern. I know this cough and so does my DR. It's not Whooping Cough but rather more like an asthmatic cough. I'll give it a couple of days and then get some Ventolin this weekend.

Becky - Hope you enjoyed your dinner with John. Where did you go?

Bethany - Hope that it's a good school year for you.

Robin - Enjoy that end of summer feeling. I always like those last couple of weeks.

Ellen - Hope it cools down for you soon. But it sounds like you're enjoying the weather.

The good news? I think I'm on the downhill slide at work till I go away. The workload is entirely manageable and I think my project team is finally on top of what they need to do.
I'm starting to relax a lot more and looking forward to this holiday.

Dinner? It's Wednesday night. Mum's home cooking!
