Hi y'all!

Today was ugh. I woke up at 1 a.m. sick but I went to work anyways. I've just been miserable with some sort of tummy bug all day long. AND, the dog is sick with a tummy bug too.

I came home and now I'm in the middle of making peanut butter banana bread for a work luncheon tomorrow. But, I'm so icked out by it because I'm not feeling well.

I hope today is better for you. I would never have tried to bake, it would have been Costco for me....Seriously. I hope you feel well enough to go on your weekend!

I worked in accounting for 9 years but I dont have a degree. I actually started at my previous company in IT and transferred into Finance. I love working in Finance so I am going for my accounting degree.

I remember when you applied for that position! Girls, the hiring manager asked Marisa why she was a good fit for that position and if she thought that she could hit the road running. She told them that she was the smartest person that she knew so of course she was the most qualified person to take the job! I guess that they agreed because she got a 14% pay increase................with not a drop of experience Buddy and I are so glad that she is going back to school though, she never does anything just for herself.

Marisa- Welby is on that low carb thing the Dr told her to follow and she told me that she officially hates you and Jeff.................Lasagna was calling her!

Aimee – I’ve been battling vertigo for about three years now. It seems to be allergy related with me and can last as long as a week. I have medication that normally works fairly well (keeps me from having to stay in bed and controls the nausea) but it takes 4-6 hours to kick in. It is truly the worst feeling in the world.

Nan – I had to chuckle because God knows I could never stay home with Johnny either.

I remember that first bout and wish that it was your last one. Vertigo is horrible!

I knew you all would understand why I cannot stay home with Buddy. I love him but he makes me nuts! This winter he offered suggestions.........about everything! How to bring my grocery bill down, how do save on laundry, and offered to help around the house. Now I appreciate his offers............you notice I say nothing about the suggestions ............but he doesn't do things my way. And I am a control freak about my house. SO he paced........

His grocery suggestions were crazy! Sea scallops for weeknights to save money. Really???????????? At how much a pound????????????? Cheap meals of stirfried summer veggies and fresh mushrooms. Big salads. Now I try to use fresh produce and have no problems making that kind of meal but I cannot remember the last time he wandered into any grocery store so at $1.99 a pound for summer squash my bottomless pit is the reason my bill is high and does not even know it!

WE go through almost a loaf of bread a day on him alone. I tried buying high fiber breads but he won't make a sandwich on them because he can only have one............gets too full He likes four or five

I am having to switch insurance companies so of course, my medicine got seriously delayed... that combined with the stress (esp this week) caused my Crohns to go nuts last night. Awful pain, blockage, throwing up, etc. AWFUL. So I missed the entire day and just laid in the fetal position on the couch. I've been dealing with it 16ish hours now so it should be winding down. I at least can sit up straight!

Hate this damn disease.

Aimee- I feel so badly that you are still dealing with this.

I have finally sat down. Tomorrow we are having a luncheon #2 for someone at work who is retiring. Lucky Dog! I made a veggie tray with a cilantro lime hummus. I found it on Pinterest, I added a little Siracha instead of cayenne I hope everyone likes it. I think it is pretty tasty.

Ok I and out for the night.

Good Morning! Quick in and out. I am trying to get to the gym before I loose my umph! A is going on his 8th grade trip to DC today. I am busy packing him and making sure he has everything. 4 boys to a room...I sure hope he changes his clothes, showers and brushes his teeth. You know how boys are!!!

Nan, Love your Buddy and staying home story! I dont think Tom and I would last if he was home all the time. I guess I am like you, I like things my way. For instance, he does the dishes at night (not all the time) but sometimes he waits until later...bugs the crap out of me that there is a messy kitchen. I like it done right away.

Taking a break from cleaning.

I was cleaning out our bookcase. I came across some of Mr A's stuff. He wrote a book about a puppy we had that died too early. It made me cry, he was in the 3rd or 4th grade when he wrote it. Time flies especially when you turn your head just a moment.

I hope everyone is having fun this weekend. It is kind of quiet here will I wait impatiently for news on my car. The weather is crappy here too not a good combo.

I think we'll make the wine walk tomorrow and I can't wait! We've decided we need to eat a bit of something before we go because we're going to be walking in the Texas heat. And drinking. And you don't want to see us with that combo!

Way too fast I can still see Daniel at three climbing the stairs on the bus..............and now he is 32.

WE had Buddy's Mom's memorial Mass this morning. I was worried I would run out of food but there was plenty. It really was nice to see all the folks who came for her, a lot of the elderly ladies in her Women's groups. We had the service at the Lithuanian Church and some of the music was in Lithuanian. Ave Maria is glorious in any language! Buddy's brother was there so I am happy for that. HE is still plenty furious with his Mom but has not missed anything that has been done for her.

Buddy is still having a rough time but I think this will help. There is a Nun who helped me organize the service and social hour who has been a Blessing. Buddy gave her all of the leftover pastries and beverages to take to the women's shelter. There really was a lot left and the pastry was delicious so it was nice to see it go to women who might like it.

We also were happy to see some uniformed officers come to the service. Alice worked for the PD for over 30 years. The police officers union wants to make a donation to a charity in her name. Sister May Louise's ministry was the perfect one to request that they honor.

Well Buddy want to hit the 4 PM Mass so I better get ready. I hope I don't fall asleep during the Sermon.

I did get my car back this afternoon. It was just a hose that came loose. It was easy for them to fix and cheap for me.

We did get to go to our wine walk last night. It was FUN! We found a great lime wine from a Texas winery that tastes like you're having a wine margarita. I can't wait for tonight when it's chilled.

Jen – I’m so glad y’all were able to go on the wine walk and that lime wine sounds interesting!

This weekend was our last baseball weekend for the season. Yesterday was Senior day. The boys are escorted onto the field by their parents and the Moms are given flowers and framed action shots of their sons. Tears were flowing all around. The boys were even emotional, knowing they will never play together as a team again. This season’s team was especially close. Next year will be our turn…can’t imagine our life without baseball.

We’re going to grill some chicken and baby back ribs today and I’m also making Bobby Deen’s lighter mac & cheese, broiled parmesan tomatoes and baked beans.

Kat- I remember how it felt when Dan was done with school. He did not go to college but that last year was so bittersweet, he was thrilled and I was not. Made no sense, I raised him to be independent and strong just like you are doing with your boy, but that made no difference in what I felt. I am here if you want to talk, I felt like I was the only one who was affected, so many other parents were already planning new furniture for their kid's space and i was so not doing that!
