I am not sure when Yoda's surgery is. The vet I saw yesterday said that with his heart murmur he should have an ultrasound of his heart done to see if he can do the surgery. My problem is that they did an xray of his heart yesterday and said that it looks normal. The ultrasound is $350.00 and the surgeon consult is $130.00. No matter what he needs the surgery because if he tries to pass the stones they will get stuck and he could die. So no matter what the ultrasound says we have to do the surgery. If I do the ultrasound today I will be at $850 BEFORE we even do the surgery

So I will talk with the surgeon today and see what he says. Wish me luck

SO I talked to Welby yesterday and I guess I was the last one to see that I was falling apart. She and Brian have been waiting for me to bring it up, Brian told Welby he thought I was starting to get worn down. She has a friend who was a Nanny and whose children are the same age so they are talking terms. Buddy is very conflicted. He knows it is hard on me but he is worried the change will not be good for the girls. A few months ago I would have worried about my little Nervous Nellie Nola but she has been coming out of her shy little shell. I am not going anywhere so we can have all the Nana Days we all want and I can always take them if they are ill and cannot go to their new daycare but I am still a little sad.

I second what Aimee said. I know I am exhausted at the end of a weekend with my DN's and they are old enough to entertain themselves.

Speaking of which, I will be taking the little one for the weekend coming up sometime soon as her sister is going away for the weekend to her 1st big time, several states away, swim meet.

I am hoping the strawberries will be ready at the pick-your-own farm. She loves going and we haven't been for strawberries in a few years. When I told her about going she asked if we could pick spinach too and have a salad. She was disappointed that spinach isn't ready until later.

So today was a rollercoaster of a day I took Yoda to his appointment with the surgeon. We discussed the ultrasound and he said I didnt need it because they could use special medication to make sure it would be OK with his heart murmur.

Then they asked if I was ready to schedule the surgery for today. I asked for a price, and he sent the nurse in with an estimate of $3000.00!!!!

Not what I was expecting. I left crying and came home and woke up Jeff. I was hysterical. I dont have that kind of money to spend on Yoda since I am out of a job. If we dont do the surgery he will die I called the vet I used to take my cat to and asked for a quote from them. They called me back this afternoon with a price of $500.00!!! I scheduled it for Friday. I am so angry with the first place!!!!

I have to go babysit for the girls so my mom can leave and go for dinner. Be back later!!!

Marisa I am glad you found another vet for Yoda. Vet costs are just out of control.

My brain is mush today I have had migranes on and off today. We are having warmer weather but the pressure is so high it is setting off my migranes.

Poor you! There is no really good way to stop that germ thing. Try wiping all the things you don't think about with rubbing alcohol. I wipe every clicker and light switch down to try to stop us from getting those things the girls are bringing home from school. I don't know if it helps but there are so many things that normal cleaning seems to overlook that I figured it cannot hurt.

We are going to dinner tonight at a new place for that dinner meeting. DOnny and Anna originally wanted their wedding there but they were still trying to fix menus and prices. Good thing we are eating out, my kitchen is a nightmare. We have wicked hard water which ruined my faucet. Buddy replaced it yesterday which was a in itself. He could not get under the sick so he disconnected the big bad boy garbage disposal that I am not supposed to use. The gasket was not great so when he reattached it the seal was broken and you guessed it................now I cannot use my sink and need to see if I can buy the seal.

Now you know I have my little beverage sink that i refuse to let anyone use............Buddy never even considered it when he stressed out what I was going to do today with no sink in the kitchen..................I have done my job too well I think!

I do hope that I can replace the seal, Daniel tried to replace one and had to buy a whole new unit.

Nan, I have a touch of OCD. I am constantly wiping things down. J just brings home thing after thing from school. Kids are dirty.

So, ummmm, what do you do with the sink?

Can you really?! I'd love that! I have a Kindle and Kindle app but could download the Nook app on my tablet if that's easier. I have an account there, too.

Oh, I'm so sorry you had such a rough day Thankful you found a vet not interested in cashing in on your tough spot who will take good care of Yoda. What kind of dog is he? I love his name. Pic?

Jen I am glad you are getting better. A couple of weeks ago I had an eye infection that took a week to clear up even with med's. I hate being layed low with stuff.

Nancy I never knew sink were to hold drinks

I think I am going to shoot some birds or tape my dogs mouths shut. I have a tree in my backyard that the birds love to sit in and bother my dogs. Hershey sits under that tree and whines and barks at those birds. Not sure if he wants to play with them or eat them

Janice: Nan keeps bottles of flavored water lined up in her sink. So that is the extent of it. We are not allowed to turn the faucet on because Nan doesn't want water stains in it The only person allowed to use it is Kady. So sometime we tell Kady to turn it on to watch Nan run around polishing it to make sure there are no water spots

I think you need earplugs!!! LOL!!!

Jen: I am glad to hear you are getting better! Hopefully you are all better for the weekend!! I can see you are counting down until you have the summer off!!!

Kat: I was so angry with the first vet for giving me that price After Yoda has surgery tomorrow, I will write a letter to them with a copy of the bill from the second vet and let them know that their estimate was outrageous! I have other family members that go there also and I will let them know that they are switching also.

I have no idea what is going on with my day today. Jeff stayed home last night because I woke him up at 11 am and since he was in bed at 8 am he was tired. So we ordered Chinese food for dinner after I watched Nola and Reilly. Jeff is off on Fridays and Saturdays anyway so I am not sure if he is going in today or just having a really long weekend.

So I am going to get my laundry done and make sure my housework is all set. Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi! Janice- I don't know where anyone is but I can answer about Yoda The vet sent him home with pain meds yesterday. She had to cancel the surgery because his heart murmur is too bad to risk it. She is waiting for a consult with kitty heart Dr I think. Marisa is very upset. I think she promised to take Kady tag saling today which should take her mind off the little furball.

Good Morning Everyone!!! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Yoda is doing ok. The surgery was cancelled because the surgeon called yesterday because she is afraid to risk surgery without calling a specialist to do an EKG first. His murmur is pretty bad I guess. To stop him peeing everywhere they put him on pain medication. So he is doped up until the specialist can get him in. My poor Yoda (

Today we went tag saling since that is our favorite family past time. Kady had a blast and it took her mind off of Yoda. We are doing a Cinco de Mayo celebration today. I am making homemade guacamole to go with tortilla chips for a snack this afternoon. Then for dinner I am grilling chicken and steaks, squash and zucchini and baked sweet potatoes. Then for dessert I am making bread pudding. The best part is going to be the drinks!!! Mojitos and Coronas

It was so nice to wake up this morning to sunny skies and birds chirping instead of rain!!!

I dont have any real plans for today. I want to just pick up the house and see what Kady would like to do. I bought a file cabinet and I have alot of stuff to file, but it will take time to label new files and stuff like that so it can wait until this week during the day.

We had such a great dinner last night. I made the guacamole and my cousin Kimmie who lives next door came over to try it and she LOVED it!!! She lived in California and had to have mexican food daily so I believe what she says. I will definately make it again since it took just a few minutes to do.
