In all of my days with my current employer, I have never witnessed what I did tonight!

I picked up a shift at one of the better resorts. (Fancy Schmancy for you Rick)

Well about 9:00 pm a rather large entourage of security guards arrived, evacuated the middle of the lobby, taped it off with "Do not cross" tape, and cleared a path to the loading dock! Crowds started to gather, people were literally hanging off of the baloneys with cameras! I asked "What? Is Hanna Montana checking in?"

"Oh no Mike, tonight the elves arrive with our decorations and the tree!"

"Oh, are they here already?"

"No, they don't even arrive till 10:00!"

"And these people are gonna stand around and wait?"

"Oh yes, those are the best seats!" :scared1:

They were six deep on the lobby floor with cameras!

At first I laughed, but it was really something to watch!

By 10:00 three semis, yes semi trucks arrived chock full of decorations, by 10:30 every truck was empty and the pallets were clearly marked. "Restaurant" "Lobby" "Pool" etc. By 11:30 half of the elves were delivering the decor, and the other half were installing.

I finally left at 12:30 and at that time the huge tree was half way up in the lobby, the garland had been strung, and most of the wreaths had been placed! It was amazing to watch!

On my way to the parking lot, I noticed landscaping was out ripping out the gold marigolds, and plopping in red poinsettias!

WOW, sometimes this company even amazes me!

It must be Christmas!

Wow! That must have been wicked to see! I love the spontaneity of things Disney! The guests and CMs that were able to see that are very lucky!

Thanks for sharing.

Disney should start charging admission to watch! :lmao:

Has Hanna gained a large amount of weight that for some reason TMZ.COM hasn't yet reported on? Hee hee hee..

Hanna's being dropped at the loading dock.. big fork lift rolls up..

That is truly amazing to watch....when I was on the College Program (15+ years ago ::sigh:: :scared:) - I was there for the Fall semester. We stayed up late one night to watch them decorate one of the resorts. Then we went over to the Swan and Dolphin for a different kind of adventure (silly college pranks which I'll divulge at some other time). Anyway, we got distracted when we arrived and stayed to watch the Pastry Chefs build their Gingerbread Christmas Village - there only 3 of us there, as it was 3am. They let us sample all of the goodies and answered all kinds of questions about how they did all the work. VERY cool! :thumbsup2

We made good friends with one of them that night and any time we wanted, the rest of the semester, we could go by and say hi on his shift and he'd give us a sample of whatever pastries he was working on for breakfast that morning. It was a very Magical time! pixiedust:

Now that would be cool/magic. Go to bed, it's your average day, get up and the place has been transformed to Christmas time! WOW...

Boy I need a Disney fix!

Thanks for sharing Mike!

Hi Mike,

I just wanted to thank you so much to keep an eye on the decoration process so that we can be sure that everything is in perfect order when we arrive at the begining of december :flower3: :thumbsup2
