Important - Please Read if You have a Ressie in a Non-Member's Name!!!!!

DVC MS has a system problem that came up yesterday and it is still not completely fixed.

As a result, for anyone who rented points to or from for an upcoming trip, or for any member who made a reservation for anyone besides themselves, please have the owner call DVC MS to make sure the guest name is still in there. I found out this morning that for my reservations, the guest name is no longer there. My name is showing up as both the owner and the guest. MS has to re-enter my guest's name as "additional guest". Somehow, if the guest calls to ask for the reservation under their name, it will come up, however, their name will not come up if they go by the confirmation #.

However, I was told that the system at the resort is fine. I was able to confirm with the resort directly for all my reservation.

For people who may call to verify their reservations by the confirmation #, they may be told that their name is not on the reservation and the owner has to check them in at the resort.

Please get in touch with your renter or the DVC owner to make sure everthing is still there and have a great holiday!!!!

It was a surprise to me this morning and took me a long time to get everything fixed because MS did not know how to resolve it initially.

This happened once before about 2 years ago. I had a renter get to BWV and their names had been dropped. That is why I give renters my cell number. The front desk CM called me and added their names with my approval.

Now, I have a reservation in my nephew's name for March using my points. Does this situation apply? I put his name on the reservation. They are not rented or transferred points, but my points reserved in his name. TIA

I think it applies to all reservations not under the member's name. DVC does not segregate what is rented or not. However, I would think they can get this straightend out soon. You probably don't have to worry.

It is more of an issue for people who will be there in the next week or two.

I'm confused. So if I have a ressie under for Mom's name for next July does thsi mean the resi has been dropped? Or is it still there, but now in my name?

the ressie is still there, but it is under your name only, until they correct the system. I think for anything farther out more than 10 days, the resort may not have the records and you will be completely dependent on DVC's system. The correct name(s) on the reservations need to be re-entered because they are no longer there, at least mine are no longer there.

I wrote an e-mail praising the cast member Dale who helped me out today to straighten out my reservations, and Jackie wrote me back and acknowledged that they are dealing with a "very challenging" system right now.

As one of lat's other renters, I ditto what RayJay said about lat. She has continued to look out for her renter's best interest, far after the rental transaction has taken place. This is my very first transaction using another's DVC points and I'm glad it was with lat. Everything has been smooth sailing for me. My family and I are looking forward to our stay!

I always bring a copy of my confirmation letter with me when I check in.
If the reservation, in their computer is now in the owners name, would this written confirmation from disney be enough to prove i'm the one staying there?
I rented two studios in January for my son (same last name as mine) Should i still call to ensure they have the reservations still in his name?
