I am traveling with my daughter to see my parents in Orlando this winter. We are trying to decide between Floridays and Marriott Imperial Palms. We have it narrowed to those two due to available three bedroom units. Floridays is a little less per night. Has anyone stayed at both and have a strong opinion either way? Things that are important to us would be ease of travel to Disney World property and good mattresses.

I haven't stayed at either, but I do believe the Marriott (which we love the Marriott timeshares), doesn't have a restaurant or bar on sight-you have to go to the Marriott World center next store. I have heard great reviews about it though-I personally like to have a pool bar, and a place for a bite to eat on right on property, but again that's just us, that might not make a difference to you-

Update: We went with Floridays. Others on this board have reported enjoying it. It is inexpensive for the amount of space you get. The employees are nice and it is clean. If we were all day park people it would be fine. We spend a lot of time at hotel and it does not meet our standards. Beds are old and saggy. Living room furniture is terribly uncomfortable and Parking gets tough at night. Fire lanes are not enforced so cars are everywhere even though there is parking available further from the building entrance. Just figured I would share because our recent experience in case it helps anyone else. Next time we will try the Marriott.

To share we stayed in Imperial Palms in July with 6 adults. It was great. The unit was HUGE in great condition, beds were great. We had the master for us, my DD and SIL stayed in the second bedroom with the sofabed and more space and my 2 DS stayed in the 3rd bedroom with twin beds. Had a nice screened porch. It was a park centric trip but the unit was great if you want to enjoy it as well. There are two pools right there or you could head over the the hotel pool. It was under construction this summer but other than July 4th, we were at the parks.

It is literally minutes to the parks, couldn't have had a better location. I went back last month hoping to try one of the 2 bedroom units but ended up at Grand Vista which is just north of Floridays. The ride was doable but at least twice as long. Unit was newly renovated so our quiet time there was nice.
