Impatient on wait-list. When did yours come through?

I am waitlisted for 2 nights (night by night wait list) for an upcoming stay in early October at BWV. Okay - I admit I am getting impatient, so I thought I would just try to kill time and ask others about their waitlist experience....

For those who have had their wait-list come through, approx. when did it happen? How many days/weeks/months before your stay, and how many days/weeks/months did you wait from requesting it until getting it?

We got put on the waitlist about 70 days in advance of our stay and it has been about 2 weeks. I am so impatient! I keep calling every couple days and keep getting a negative response.

I went ahead and booked airfare because the sales were really good around here, so either it has to come through, or our backup is to use points and stay at a Disney hotel. So far there seems to be plenty of availability, and I hope that stays the case.

It depends on what view category you are waiting for. If you are open to any of the BWV view categories, you stand a better chance of something coming thru. I have guests staying at the end of Oct - early Nov for whom I reserved at 10 months out. We were only able to get Preferred garden/pool at that point and waitlisted for Std and BW views. At about 7 months the last 4 nights (of a 9 night stay) came thru for Std view, and we have been on the waitlist for the other 5 nights ever since. It has stil not come thru, of course one fo those nights is Halloween, which is a low points Sunday, so I am not holding out a whole lot of hope for it.

Just be patient. At this point it is most likely to come through 31-35 days out. I also had BW preferred and Standard as well as VWL come through at 26 days. MS said people cancel in that holding time more often than you would think. When you get to the 30 day window, ask them to check with the resort "if there is any way to clear a room for you" (sometime they take back from CRO - I think that's how it has happened for me), otherwise go on tjhe 7 day list.

I would see if you could get an MS cash discount for the other nights as a backup or book somewhere else just in case.

Calling every few days will do nothing for you.
