I post this because I know many of you, as well as myself purchased this book back in July. The publishers said it would be released in July and wasn't and so we figured maybe August. However, now they have an exact release date of 9/30/05.

Just wanted to make everyone aware that purchased it. Another month 1/2 to wait, which sucks since I'll be going again JUST before that date.

Argh! I'm going 6 days afterthat release date....Wonder if I'll get it on time? I'm going to cancel my order on Amazon that I placed back at the beginning of MAY! Hopefully I can find it in the stores and not wait for Amazon to ship it! It's gonna be close! Kathy :earsgirl:

Maybe, just maybe, this means all of us who missed the book for our trip this month need to plan another trip so we can use the book. Whatcha think?

I have never heard of this book before, and am curious about why it is in such demand?

Is it a different kind of tour book?

TIA-
Mel

Yes! this book has been highly anticipated by many Disney fanatics since hearing about it. It was even in the Mickey Monitor one month.

This book is not about standard "touring" of the Magic Kingdom. This book is about "secrets" of the Magic Kingdom.

Imagineers wrote this book and it will take you throughout the entire Magic Kingdom and show you the LITTLE TINIEST things that you likely never noticed and tell you why they did what they did and what hidden meanings things have.

Even those hardcore fans like most of us are, are likely to see things we've never known were there or just passed things by never thinking it had significance.

I anticipate it to be very interesting and fun. It is made not to so much pre-plan but to take into the parks with you so while you walk through you can enjoy the new world as the book opens our eyes.

Thanks for the update. I had seen the ad for it in the last issue of the Disney Magazine. :-(

I thought it would be great as a gift for DH for our upcoming trip, but could not find it anywhere. Our trip is in 8 days, so I'll have to look for it for the next trip.

:guilty: NO! I was hoping the aug 23rd date was going to stick. It'll still hit before I go in Oct but just barely

phew! it will be out in time for my October 15th trip!! i want it now though to help me get my disney fix!

Until it is delayed AGAIN!! Well, I hope not for your sake, but it was supposed to be out last month, I finally ordered this with a promised delivery date of this month.......and it won't even show up for our September trip!

Great. I leave on the 28th of this month. I was hoping to have it before then so I could share the info with my young nieces while we were in the park. :(

Thanks for the update. I saw the ad for it in the Disney Magazine and wanted to buy it. I didn’t see an anticipated release date on Amazon when I looked, so that’s good to know. Didn’t they say that they were going to do books on the other parks as well? That would be great. :)

I wonder if it will be for sale in the parks, I'll be at Disney when it's released. Anybody think it will be for sale in the parks?

most definitely

Guess that explains why it wasn't delivered by the last estimated delivery date that Amazon gave me.

It's getting pretty ridiculous. Isn't this the third or fourth time it's been pushed back?

I have a question.

I keep hearing about people ordering this book... but I can't find any reviews or anything other than basic ordering info. I think the author Amazon lists must have been a ghost writer because I don't think he is an Imagineer (is he? he writes weird books if he is).

You wont find many if any true reviews since it's not been released. Since it's not a "novel" type of book looking for high pre-release reviews, it's likely not to be reviewed "early" by many people.

Yes you are right. It was originally supposed to be released in July. Then they moved it to the end of July. Then they said August and now the end of Sept.

I am willing to bet that sept will be the actual date. I have a feeling the book has BEEN done but they wanted to get a copyright of 2006 on it so they had to release it now. At least this is what someone mentioned on here a month ago.

And, to another poster, yes they are going to do this with ALL of the parks, but if the others take the same length of time to create as this one, dont expect it for a year or more.

I was at a Chapters in Canada on the weekend, and looked up the title on their computer. They listed an Epcot version as "not yet published." The Magic Kingdom version was listed as "temporarily not available." I guess there have been complaints from people who have pre-ordered -- now you can't do that anymore.

I guess it's still good that they're going ahead with the series :confused3 I'm sure they're taking longer to get the first book done right, and the rest will come out faster.
