I was at the Dollar Tree today and saw baseball caps in all different colors. Has anyone ever tried to put an image on a hat? How did it come out? If it was successful, how did you do it?

Thanks!

Hi writermommy! I'm not so sure the caps would work very well. The reason I say this is b/c it's even difficult for me to iron designs onto a sleeve (b/c you have the seams underneath that you have to "move around" during ironing.) As much pressure as you have to apply to the iron I just don't know about caps!!! :confused3 If you already have the transfers & don't mind wasting one + possibly ruining a $1 store hat, then it's sure worth the try! Let us know if it works...that would be really cute! :thumbsup2

Thank you for your reply. I may have to give it a try. ;) I figure it's only a $1 because I am getting the transfers for the shirts I am making anyway. I'll let you know how it turns out, may try it this weekend.

I'm so stingy with my transfers, that I don't like to print on any of them unless it's tried & true!!!!!:rotfl: I even try to use up the corners of my transfers w/ little designs to fit on a sleeve or just under the back of the neck! I hate to waste those coveted sheets! :rotfl2: Can't wait to hear how it works out. :goodvibes

Hey! I had been thinking of trying to make hats/visors also. If you did give it a try, let us know how it worked out and if you have any tips!
Thanks!

I did it a few years ago and it worked OK. It was a hat for Fathers day.
I used transfer paper on a cotton ball cap. I did a small design on the front, make sure it's a flat area with no seams. Then I had DS (then 3) put his hand in fabric paint and put handprints on the back. I used a sharpie to print the date by the handprints really small. It's even held up after a few washings!
Good luck - hth
