I'm.........

Sorry your pool days are over, slo.
We still have 2 months or so. We have a long season since it gets so hot here.
DGS is spending the night tonight, so not much sleep for me again. But he is worth it

Our swim club stays opened until September 17th, but already I know we haven’t felt need to swim because temperature wasn’t into 80’s.

We can go late April through end of Oct. or mid Nov. depending on temps.
We did add solar panels a couple of years ago and that extended the time by 3 months or so

I’m using the pool today for the last time in 2021.

That was us yesterday. We had DH's family over for one last swimming opportunity, and are closing this weekend. (Some years we leave it too long, and that just makes the whole closing process worse.)

Unlike you though, I am ready for fall. Bring on the cozy sweaters, beautiful leaves, and pumpkin spice everything!

...there you go with that pumpkin spice thing again....i think of you every time i hear a commercial about pumpkin spice and I think 2021 is going to be the tidal wave of pumpking spice...everyone is pushing it...can't wait for the nose tissue to be pumpkin spice.

our pool record is nov 14th...and i worked so hard on our return to bring it up to standards again ...going to try to break that record....for sure till mid october and the only way I can break that record is to wear a long sleeve shirt in the shower, stand around for awhile outside,,then up the ladder...plunge...more of a coyote plunge then polar bear plunge.

I’m going with DH this morning to buy the closing kit for the pool. The pool water yesterday was very chilly, so we weren’t in long and DH took the stairs out yesterday, instead of today, so he wouldn’t have to go back in. Since it’s a nice day here, I’m going to spread out the solar cover on the driveway and hose it down and scrub it good, and then let it dry, so we can roll it up and put it away for next summer. After that I’m going to sit in my hammock swing and read my book.

8:00 out of the pool...finally saw a bat hit the side of the trailer. looked over the edge and did not see on the brick plaza on which the pool sits... stars, 92 degree water but no jets tonight...holiday I reckon and I think the neighbor two streets over got a covid puppy...because never heard this dog bark non stop.

in other news...been watching jeopardy way too long...had today's eposide memorized....even my wife remembered as on the first showing I knew the final jeopardy question before they even showed the answer....Nighthawks and sam elliot.

I’m so glad my DD is home after being gone all weekend. The house seems so empty when she’s gone and I always feel so empty when she’s gone. What am I going to do when she goes away to school in August? I’ll adjust, but it won’t be easy - she’s my best friend. Her and I are like peanut butter & jelly - she makes me laugh more than anyone (unlike my relationship with my other DD which has always been more like oil & water). I never thought someone could have so much fun with their kid. I love & adore my mom, but we never had that type of relationship, so I love that I have this type of relationship with my DD ❤

That's me and my DD too.
She is a lot older than yours, and has her own home, but see her often and talk to her every day.
We take girls trips every year since she was about 7.

DGS goes home this morning.....it is hard to watch him all weekend. He's fun, but tiring and gets up too early

I’m making a new recipe tonight - I love trying new recipes.
Chicken is marinating in pineapple juice, sugar, white vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and chunk pineapple and then that will go into the crockpot on my lunch hour. I’m then serving it with rice. I hope it’s good - it’s always a bummer when a new recipe is a bust.

When Katie saw me making the marinade last night she wasn’t shy about expressing her gratefulness that she’s working tonight - LOL!

I love trying new recipes too. Used to do 1-2 a week, but I've been lazy lately and just do it once or twice a month,

Got our Sorcerer APs purchased today!! Ouch!! And then made park reservations.
And got tickets for the new Cirque show at DS. January trip is almost done with the planning. Need dining and transportation!!

I’m so scared - DD’s HS is on lockdown due to a shooter in the building. She texted me scared and telling me how much she loves me. She’s on the third floor and everything is happening on the third floor. So far 2 kids are in custody, but the swat team and police are searching the school for any more possible kids involved. She’s still locked in her room. This is a horrible scary day

I’m so glad that yesterday is behind us and nothing terrible happened. It’s a parents worst nightmare to get a text from your kid saying there’s an active shooter in the school and they are on lockdown. The main suspect was in the classroom next to hers - very scary. I was hoping the school would let the kids elearn after such a stressful day (they were in their rooms for about 4 hours) but it’s back to school as normal. Fingers crossed for an easier day for the students and staff.
