I’m happy to say that Katie’s Prom was a success - everything went perfect.
Now I’m tired though - I stayed up until 2:00am waiting for her (they went to a bonfire after prom and dinner) to help her take the 1000 bobbi pins out of her hair and she said she was to tired and wants to wait until the morning. So she thanked me for waiting up for her and went to bed. So I went to bed and now 4 hours later I’m up again to get ready for church and then get ready for the family to come over. Never a dull moment around here.

I hope you all have a nice Mother’s Day today. I had an early Mother’s Day surprise - DD23 called me yesterday saying that she misses us and wants to start seeing us at least once a month. She said she wants our DGS to know us and for our DGD to know us when she’s born. I was very surprised by the call - it took a lot of courage to do this. We’ll take baby steps and hopefully her husband won’t ruin it like he’s ruined everything else.

My 2 kids, 2 grand kids and DIL will be over about 11. DS is grilling burgers. But I still have the rest to get done. Summer is always here for family gatherings because we have the pool!!

Family just left.....it was a nice day.
We did some work on our check in for our cruise next month. Passports in, photos done.

I’m thinking that I may actually go up in my attic to get my summer clothes tonight - the weather is finally telling me that I can do this - LOL! Crazy Midwest weather - last week I had 3 layers of pants and tops on to watch Katie’s games and this week both games will be around 85 degrees and I’ll be sandals - gotta love the Midwest .

I’m excited for another big game tonight. We’re playing the only school that’s beat us this season (we play each school in our conference twice), so it will be interesting. These girls on the other team are hungry to knock us off our pedestal (last year katie and her team went to state), so they’ll be playing hard. Hopefully our girls are ready to be the better team today. First pitch is at 5:30pm and it’s actually hot outside - no coats today

Just finished up baking with the kids. DGS made Lemon Muffins and DGD baked chocolate cake.
The frosting for it will be done next time which will be in 2 weeks since we are gone next Wednesday

I’m a little sad today - my hair stylist for the last 20 years told me to today that she’s closing her salon. Now I need to find a new stylist - that‘s going to be weird.

I’m bummed that Katie‘s team lost yesterday. For some reason they could not get the job done last night. My kid had the only RBI of the game, so I’m glad for that. If it wasn’t for her it would have been 0-5, at least she made sure it wasn’t a shutout - final score 1-5.

I am happy about the beautiful weather we are having - that has been awesome! Sadly, we’ll be back to some cooler temps next week.

I just finished putting together 2 trays of enchiladas for tomorrow's family lunch.
Chicken with white sauce and flour tortillas and then the red with ground beef and corn tortillas.
We start hitting the 100s this weekend and won't see lower very often for months
