..and it's sad to see that how Kate has evolved into something worse than what she was when the show was still a regular series. :scared1:

It's kind of sad, really, that her kids have to deal with a mother like her PLUS the fact that all of this has gotten captured on film. Does Kate ever watch her own show? Doesn't she realize what she looks like?? :confused3

They're saying it's the "final 2 episodes", and I hope for the sake of the kids, that it's true. And is that the same bodyguard Steve with her/them???

P.S. Who are the 2 women traveling with them? Friends I'd guess??

She's turned into a real shrew. Jon was not prize either. A case of it all going down the crapper.

I *think* that the blond is her friend and the woman with dark hair is the nanny.

I used to like the show, but I've lost my taste for it. I really think she is so self-absorbed that she thinks everyone else is to blame anything bad that happens. She's an expert at rationalizing away what everyone else can clearly see.

I have never been able to stomach her or that show. I certainly don't think her husband was perfect she was beyond crazy. I also wonder if she watches herself and if she does what must she think? Does she look at how she behaves and think that is OK or normal?

I am still hung up on a preview for the show I saw a while back and one of the girls spilled something on her dress and all Kate was shown doing was shrieking "OMG you are ruined..you are ruined, how could you" and things like that. Holy crap what that must do to a child trying to grow up in that kind of environment.

I wonder if this show was edited together AFTER they knew this was it, the show was cancelled, because as shrewish as Kate has looked in previous episodes, this really seems like it's the worst, and just very off-putting...I wonder if they would have tried harder to showcase the 'good' parts of the trip if this wasn't the end.

Also, I noticed in the beginning of the episode when she was still at home packing that the black & white pictures of her, Jon, & the kids from years ago are still hanging on the walls....this surprised me, I would not have thought she would have wanted anything like that still displayed in her home. I wonder if it's a painful reminder to the kids of what they used to have and lost.

I really hope these kids can somehow end up with normal lives.

I could only stand a few minutes of it. Did they actually go inside the building at Mt Rushmore and learn about it? I did see she was carrying a shopping bag. Did the kids learn anything educationally or were they just subjected to their mom's self-centeredness?

The show tonight was very difficult to watch. I feel so bad for Jamie and Ashley who went along with them to help her. I did love that they had the party bus. That is probably the only time those kids get to have any real fun.

That happened on the episode when they went to WDW (the little kids were 3)! They were getting a private meet and greet with some of the princesses and one of their private Disney tour guides brought the kids ice cream. Kate got all paranoid that the kids would get it on their clothes. She even tried to spoon feed one of the girls but she wasn't having it. One girl dribbled some down her shirt and Kate proceeded to freak out and yell, "OMG John! She's ruined!" She could have changed the shirt, but the kids were all dressed matchy-matchy and she couldn't have one be dressed differently! It's appalling that they got a free trip to WDW, complete with private tour guides and special priviledges and all she could think about was keeping the kids' clothes clean and perfect. How about appreciating what's being given to you and enjoying the time with your kids instead of freaking out over ice cream on a 3-year old's shirt?

When John was asked how he felt about the incident, he said, "Who cares? Let them have the ice cream. Let them bathe in it!" They have such different parenting styles and priorities. It's no wonder they split up. I can't imagine what the therapy bill will look like when those kids are older. For the record, I would have let the kids have a field day with the ice cream. That's what Wet Wipes were made for and that's why I always carry them with me!

Yeah, poor kids. Don't have daddy hanging around the house nursing the hangover from boozing it up with college kids at the bar all night. Sure they miss that.

Both of them have a screw loose.

These kids coming off of the show will be a positive move (I hope).
How this "mother" has exploited these kids is sickening.

Hope someone keeps an eye on Kate after the camera stops rolling because she comes across like a loose cannon.

OMG!!!! HORRIFYING BEYOND WORDS!!!

I cannot believe how out of control Kate is. I haven't watched this show in sometime, and well I am flabergasted. She is beyond horrible, and her kids, especially Maddy are showing signs of bad parenting. The whole meltdown over sitting at the table to do lego's with Clay---what did the poor kid do except want t sit at the table, and yet Maddy didn't want him there. And as far as the RV's go, you might think she was living in a shanty. She wants to be waited on, she is a prima donna and so bossy---down to telling them to wash the tomato's and she doesn't want the lettuce ripped, she wants it 'chopped'--***?!?!?!!?

Glad this train wreck is over.

My kids and I were howling when they got to West Yellowstone - We stayed at that same RV park a year ago ( for the record it was a FANTASTIC place - we stayed in a cabin)

We could not belive that they took all that time to go through Yellowstone and they saw ONE gyser, what a waste!

I also could not belive she was so upset people were taking their pictures as she was dragging her kids to national monuments.

We are watching it 100% for the train wreck factor and I thought it was so funny when her 'friends' (ok one is a nanny) were bad mouthing her 10 steps behind her, and later joking about how she 'left' (she was just at the grocery store)

I wonder if she thinks praying before a meal is all one needs to do to be a 'good christian' (She used to talk religion a fair amount)

My thought has always been, if Kate treats her kids like that ON camera, imagine how she treats them when the cameras are not rolling? :scared1:

Jamie is her best friend (w/3 kids). I think Ashley (younger one) is also a friend.

Jamie is her "best friend", unlike the best friend "Beth" that she wrote the book with years ago. Ashley, is the daughter of one of her former helpers. I dont remember the mom's name. I do remember seeing Ashley years ago when she was still in high school coming to "play" with the babies!

I think that was actually Cara fighting over where Clay had to sit while she played with Legos. The best was when Kate said that Jamie needed to control Clay. Poor kid, he will be traumatized for life after that trip.

I am giving Kate a little slack. I don't think Kate knew what she was in for. Camping is total work,
You are just moving it all into a RV;):rotfl:

Plus I think TLC really focused on a lot of the bad. When we went out to South Dakota, my dh refused to drive through the BadLands, but he had no problem going to Wallldrugs or the Corn Palace.

Kate was smart to fly everyone in to SD, it would of taken them 3 days to get from PA to just Mount Rushmore. I wonder how many other RV's there were. It probably was a blessing to have the bathrooms on board, but when we travel, we try to use ours as little as possible. The smell is hoorendous.
Wonder why the driver did not empty at the campground-Kate should have had that job, hooking up the hoses to empty, and hooking up the hoses for fresh water.

Also you can never run the tv, DVD player, microwave, plus the air conditioner in an RV at the same time. The generator can't handle all those power sources. And my dh said, the refrigerator wasn't working, because someone ripped the door off the hinges.

I am sure it was stressful, but her treatment of Clay was horrible. I saw another episode when she was organizing her downstairs, he kids were absolute brats to Clay. I can't figure out why she thinks that her 2 kids can sit at the table and everyone (Clay) has to find somewhere else to go, Oh yeah, her kids deserve it. That attitude is rubbing off on her kids, they are little monsters in the making. I used to think they were cute, now I can see they aren't and no wonder 2 of them got into trouble at school. Rotten attitudes. If my kids acted like hers, there would be hell to pay. My kids wouldn't be sitting at that table Clay would be and they would be outside helping me with the chores.

Also her control of how to cut or tear lettuce. She would be having to get that lettuce surgically removed if she talked to me that way. BTW< if she is such a great cook, how come she doesn't know that you aren't supposed to cut lettuce with a knife, you are supposed to tear it.
