Did you see or read about Kate's Today show appearance today? She responded to Jon's comment that it's time to get a real job. She says that it may be okay for Jon to live a mediocre life, but not for her and the kids. So having a job outside of the entertainment industry is now living in mediocrity?

THIS is why Kate rubs me the wrong way. Was it REALLY necessary to take a cheap, childish dig at Jon??? What a loon.

I am a child of divorce; due to my dad's substance abuse issues I don't see him & was actually adopted at age 5 by my mom's 2nd husband (who I call Dad). My mother NEVER said a bad thing about my bio dad - and he up & left us. I have ZERO respect & patience for a parent who trashes the other parent. What a loser.

I posted this question a few pages back, but I asked if anyone could name a Reality Star or a Celebrity Security Guard. I'm still sticking with the rumor that Kate and Steve are an item.

You and me both. Especially considering that he is now her "manager" or "advisor" (or whatever his new title is). WTH?? He changed his whole line of work just to stay by her side? Does he even spend time with his actual wife anymore or is it all about Kate?

Apparently Kate's idea of wanting "the best" for her kids seems to be "the best" stuff, expensive trips, a million dollar mansion, etc. It's sad really that she puts so much emphasis on money. Not having access to all those expensive things is hardly a life of mediocrity. I wish she could see that her kids need her love, attention, and kindness more than any of the things she deems so important.

If by mediocre she means honest, well, ok! She is the sorriest excuse for a person, but she'll never see that. I think Jon will do just fine and thank goodness the kids do have him as a role model. He was rich, had everything, and then he fell a long way down. So what did he do? He got up and got regular job just like everybody else and went on with his life. He didn't give up or cry poor me at every obstacle, even the ones of his own making. He has personal responsibility and integrity. (good job, Jon!)

TLC has a marathon on today. Its amazing to see how things change. Its really strange to see her and Jon sitting together at each episode.

I asked this a while back and didn't see a response. Isn't Jon still under contract until 2012 with TLC, and I thought I read he can't do TV shows until the contract is up. Does anyone know if this is true and are they still paying him?

It does appear according to seveal google spots that the entire family is still under contract. I thought that contract went through 2012. But it also seems that they get paid if the work or not, so I hope they aren't able to go to another network during that time and Kate and the kids start up again. I'd still like to see her get work though, if that's the type of work she wants..just not the kids.

She's too good for a mediocre life - what does she mean? Is a medicore life a life without lavish trips and lifestyle? Kate really doesn't seem to have a clue of what it is like to be a normal mother. She's so focused on being a "star".

I clicked on the marathon and saw the little kids 4th birthday and what a shock - KATE WASN"T WEARING HEELS!!!!

Of course she takes them to a bakery and then starts telling the bakery owner she doesn't want them to get messy or eat the fondant!

Since when do kids need a bunch of "things" to avoid having a mediocre life? I'd say from what I've seen they're leading a pretty "mediocre life" now. Mom's a control freak and they only see Dad a couple times a month. And any wrong step of theirs is splashed across the media.

And since when do KIDS have a responsibility to help a PARENT live something other than what they consider a "mediocre life".

I wonder what the announcement is tonite.

Why does the Today Show keep giving Kate airtime, why doesn't any of the other networks have her on.

Maybe the Gosselins are under contract till 2012, not the whole year.

That sums it up for me, too.

Kate's personality quirks is one thing. We can't prove 100% that she had "the girls" lifted & separated. Or that she got Botox. But it's getting VERY hard to give her any benefit of the doubt when she throws around "mediocre".

ICAM! I truly am starting to think he fell apart when he found out she was with this Steve and saw what kind of shrew she was through our eyes. He went a little crazy and then found his solid footing again. Good for him! She is just vile. Mediocre my buns ugh!

With the economy the way it is, what a slap in the face to so many to call normal living "mediocre". Maybe if they lived more of a mediocre life the kids wouldn't be so bratty.

I think that witch just slammed the last nail on her coffin. How dare she say that about Jon. Especially in todays economy, with people out of work and doing anything they can to support their families. At this point I hope she fails miserably, JOn can get the kids and she can rot. I went on her new website and people must have been asking her about it because she posted about how as the mother of 8 she could not have a normal job. My neighbor has 7 kids, one is a child with special needs and 1 is little and not in school ye and she works as does her husband. They pay for after school care for the kids, ask neighbors and friends for favors, pay for daycare for their baby and live a FRUGAL LIFE to make ends meet.

It absolutely can be done - just like the rest of us poor saps do it - she just does not want to do it.
