"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have a secret... I already google-imaged "Tarzan at Disney World" after your last post, so... wow. I was quite surprised actually. Pleasantly surprised, of course.

Sounds like such a funny conversation with him too! I totally get the dude where's my car face, lol.

Ooh, Hallowishes looks so pretty.

Nice Sweeney Todd costumes! Great musical, I also really love Wicked. I loved it way more than I thought I would (live, of course).

Do you have another Disney trip planned? If you don't it might be a bit easier to work on your other TR, then there won't be risk of overlapping a trip with a report which I think can make it more daunting. Also, you can likely summarize your days with Gina (sorry, Gina!) and I'm sure that'd finish this one up quicker. But also, summers are just too busy to be stuck inside writing updates. Damn summer, being so good.

That's so awesome you are going to do a TR for #BirthdayFestivus! I followed most of it on instagram I believe and I'm so excited to hear how amazing it was, in more words than twitter and instagram allow. :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear you didn't get to meet the Winnie the Pooh characters being all adorable in their costumes, but I mean you got your best chance at seeing HalloWishes. Those fireworks look so amazing! I am spoiling myself with these pictures, but... IT'S SO HARD TO LOOK AWAY! And I've already listened to the soundtrack a million times so whatever, by the time I actually get to go to MNSSHP it won't matter. Also, I think the reason MNSSHP doesn't use Nightmare as much is because in Disneyland, he's very much the center of Mickey's Halloween Party over there and I think they do a lot of M&Gs then too. Don't know how that translates to WDW, but I guess it's just trying to make the parties very definitive and different from one another?

Oh my gosh! I love Sweeney Todd so much. Stephen Sondheim and Angela Lansbury <3 I've been trying to get my high school to do the show, but they won't do it because Sondheim's orchestrations can only be done by a professional orchestra or so they say :( It displeases me. I haven't seen it live yet, had the chance once before (and to audition, but I totally blanked out on that. Why I didn't I will never know), but I love it so much. It's like in my Top 5 favorite musicals, Sondheim is a genius! I probably will end up rambling on about it, so I'll just stop now and say... that is so awesome you ran into people dressed up like that! I would've flipped and asked for a picture because I'm just that nerdy. Okay moving on...

What a great meet-and-greet you had with Tarzan, Jane and Turk! I can't believe how the dude managed to not shiver or hide the fact that it was a bit chilly out. I mean, it is Florida chilly, but not everyone is from New England like me and has snowboarded/skied their whole life so... props to him! He definitely sounds like he got the character perfectly and Jane does look EXACTLY like the cartoon version, that's pretty impressive, but I guess they have to get it right for the few times a year she greets guests.

Can't wait to read about the rest of the party! :mickeyjum

I love your interaction with Tarzan!
Somewhere in the Internet there is a picture of Tarzan in one of the parades at Disneyland-and he looks slightly lesser clothed than he does here. ;)

Oh my gahhhhhhh, I am so excited for MNSSHP. Hallowishes? They look great. BUT NAKED TARZAN!?! Sign me up!!

I am sort of broke at this point (paying for five at Disney ain't easy), but I want to do costumes for the party...like GOOD costumes, not just having the girls wear their regular Princess dresses. I would love to show up randomly in someone's TR for having a great set of costumes they just had to photograph. Do you have any cheap ideas for family costumes? It could either be for the three littles or for all five of us. Either would work.

Cannot wait to hear about your birthday trip! Don't feel pressured...let it come naturally. We will be patient. :)

Hallowishes looks so amazing. My friend goes at least twice a year and she always tells me that out of every fireworks show, Hallowishes is her favorite. You got some great shots!! Do they really play nightmare during it and everyone screams?! I love it!!!!!

Um, hello Tarzan. And he said you were pretty! Aw, that is so sweet!! How fun to meet characters that aren't out often! Even though they totally should be. Every week should be lost friends week. Or Halloween.

Can't wait to hear more!

Fantasyland Mom- we have gone as pirates before and that can actually be relatively cheap. I think we got a lot of our clothes mark-down at Ross or TJ Maxx. Really cheap stuff. And we also used old clothes we had. Then we cut them up to look more shipwreck/pirate-y. We did buy hats.

hahaha it was so great! He was definitely one of my favorite characters to meet!

I love Wicked too! But Sweeney is my fave.

No I don't and that is not a good thing :worried::worried::worried: I always planned to summarize the non-Disney days, but I don't even want to because I loved this trip so much. I don't want the TR to end! But I know people aren't going to be as interested in that part so I'll probably run through it quickly!

Oh trust me there will be a LOT of words. :lmao:

It's okay, I'm sure I'll get to meet them at my next MNSSHP!

I know it's featured a lot in Disneyland and at the overseas parks which is why it makes me so mad that they neglect it in Disney World! It just doesn't make sense. It's a Halloween party and it's their only movie that is literally THEMED AROUND HALLOWEEN. Come on Disney, this is a no brainer. There should be more Nightmare stuff! Sigh.

Aw that sucks! My high school did Sweeney Todd the year before I got there. Omg, I was so mad!!

Trust me it was NOT just Florida chilly. It was very very cold and still windy due to Sandy. I can't believe he was out there looking so calm and not shivering to death! He rocked honestly.

I love your interaction with Tarzan!
Somewhere in the Internet there is a picture of Tarzan in one of the parades at Disneyland-and he looks slightly lesser clothed than he does here. ;)

I'm gonna need to see that photo.

Oh my gahhhhhhh, I am so excited for MNSSHP. Hallowishes? They look great. BUT NAKED TARZAN!?! Sign me up!!

It's the BEST!!!

ME tooooooooooooo! All I want to do is go back to Disney for Halloween this year but money doesn't grow on trees. :worried:

A good family costume is Peter Pan characters - Pan, Wendy, Lost Boys, Hook, Smee, Crocodile. Hook and Crocodile are the only ones that can be a bit tough/expensive. The others are super easy. The first play I ever had a role in was Peter Pan (I was a lost "kid" haha) and they didn't have a budget for these costumes but they were sooo easy. Another cheap idea is just going as fab 5 characters. Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Minnie all wear very simple outfits and yet they are unmistakable when you dress like them! Hope that helped (:

Cannot wait to hear about your birthday trip! Don't feel pressured...let it come naturally. We will be patient. :)

Hallowishes looks so amazing. My friend goes at least twice a year and she always tells me that out of every fireworks show, Hallowishes is her favorite. You got some great shots!! Do they really play nightmare during it and everyone screams?! I love it!!!!!

Thank you! I appreciate that b/c hate when people are telling me to update more. I'm like it's a trip report people, it's not my job. :rolleyes1

She's right! The fireworks are just breathtaking! Yes they really play Nightmare and Oogey Boogey is in it and says "Everybody SCREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM" and people scream. IT'S AWESOME. :thumbsup2

AHH I know I couldn't believe he said that. I was very flattered!

Thanks(:

Great update! :)

Thank you!

That's a good idea! Though it's probably the most common costume at the party. I always love when I see some pirates that don't look like all the other ones & worked really hard at making their costume cool! It can definitely be done cheaply, too! (:

OH YAY, so #BirthdayFestivus13 isn't TOO far off. Just getting started is the biggest hump. I know what you mean about pictures though. I took over 2000 in 6 days last trip. You'd think I'd never been there before. But how can you not. It's Disney! I don't care how many pictures I have... It's still not enough.

AND, that TR can't be anything but fabulous even if you tried not to be. Just sayin'. You have a way of bringing out the "feel" that is the reason we all love that place so much. Looking forward to it whenever it happens. Remember it's YOUR report to update as YOU like. :goodvibes

Ahh see yet another awesome character meet. My goodness. I think maybe he's got more of a "Dude Where's My Clothes" look. But then, if I could pull off the loincloth look, I'd probably wear it all the time too. :rolleyes1

Haha, so strange about the orange. :confused3

I'm not even sure if I've posted here before or not, but I've been following along. I'm so glad to read you'll be doing another TR. I love reading TRs, and everyone seems to have a very unique writing style. I actually really enjoy reading about the excitement. Real life can really get you down, and to be able to come in here and get that Disney excitement is just great!

How cool that you were able to go to MNSSHP three times! The fireworks are so great. I was pregnant (and didn't know it yet) last time we attended, and I was miserable the whole time. I mean, everything was so neat and I loved it, but I didn't too, if that makes any sense. I hope to get another chance someday, as well!

I'm so happy you are doing a Birthday Festivus TR! I actually love your wordy TR's. I think your descriptive writing makes you super relatable to the reader. It's like we are right there with you in some spots. There have even been times while reading your TR's where I've been like "Oh my god I've thought that exact same thing!". Believe me I obsess on how I come off on comments I write on people's TR's so I can relate. Half the time I end up erasing the original comment and modifying it because I think "Uggh I can't write that people are going to think I'm a big dork" or whatever. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is keep writing just the way you want to write. That's what we all love about reading your reports! Hopefully that made a semblance of sense. :confused3

Oh Tarzan, the person who did your spray tan should be fired but don't worry you still look hawt! :woohoo:

Awww - I totally can sympathize with your seriousness about TR's! After you've written a few it is harder...it's like, how many times do people REALLY want to hear me enthuse about hammocks at the Polynesian?? :rolleyes1 But then there is always something new to say about Disney, and even if you're revisiting a favorite resort/ride you've already written about, it's fun to hear about that again too. I'm so glad you made a start the new TR - I can't wait to read it!! :cool1:

Also. That Tarzan meet and greet sounds like pretty much the most hilarious thing EVER. He threw some leaves on in addition to the loincloth, so I guess he made some sort of effort to cover up for the park?? :rotfl:

I love reading about all of your character interactions! I always feel like such a weirdo when I meet characters because I rarely see other groups of just adults doing it, but it makes me feel better when I see that I'm not the only grown-up who likes it!

I love Jane's surprised face in the second picture! Turk was clearly up to something, lol.

Cheeto!Tarzan! :upsidedow

It took me a few hours but I FINALLY caught up again on your TR, Lia! YAY! But because I seriously had like 7-8 updates to catch up on, I'm not going to comment on a whole ton... I'm just trying to catch up on everyone's TRs today since I have the day off!

I did want to say that your posts about MNSSHP are making me SO excited for September! I just finished up Matt's costume, and mine is done, and I just can't wait to go and see everything!! AHHH I would love to go 3 times, but I'm guessing we'll probably just once this trip!

Also, while being stuck during that time period I'm sure was really hard, it also seems like it gave you an amazing opportunity to just really take in everything and roam around. I think that is a fantastic way to enjoy Disney and am hoping our trip in September is similar to that! :goodvibes

I also can't wait to hear about your other trip and the 24 hours in MK deal! I bet that was so much fun!

LOL I know. I don't know how I keep finding new things to take pictures of... but I do!

Thank you SO much. That is really nice to hear.

HAHAHA "Dude where's my clothes"... that is much better. :lmao:

I'm not even sure if I've posted here before or not, but I've been following along. I'm so glad to read you'll be doing another TR. Thank you so much! I definitely know what you mean about life getting you down and Disney picking you back up again. I hope I can help provide that excitement through my next TR as well as the end of this one!

Aww. I'm sorry about your less than stellar experience. Hopefully next time will be better!

I'm so happy you are doing a Birthday Festivus TR! I actually love your wordy TR's. I think your descriptive writing makes you super relatable to the reader. Oh Tarzan, the person who did your spray tan should be fired but don't worry you still look hawt! :woohoo:

Thank you! That is why I share all those details. Plus I also just want to be unique cause I feel like a lot of a TRs are the same. It's like "Then we walked down Main Street! *Castle Picture* I love Disney! *Castle Picture*" lol. And there's nothing wrong with that but I just want to make something a little more worthwhile. Anyway, don't censor yourself! Who cares if someone thinks you are a big dork or anything else? People who have negative thoughts for you aren't worth your time. Plus, I like dorks personally. I am one. ::yes::

Awww - I totally can sympathize with your seriousness about TR's! After you've written a few it is harder...it's like, how many times do people REALLY want to hear me enthuse about hammocks at the Polynesian?? :rolleyes1 But then there is always something new to say about Disney, and even if you're revisiting a favorite resort/ride you've already written about, it's fun to hear about that again too. LOL yes exactly. I have to catch up on your latest TR. I definitely still enjoy reading them even though you have done so many at this point. You're good at it!

:lmao: It really was! And yes his "outfit" does look a little more full than in the movie.

:upsidedow

Aww don't feel weird! All of them are so nice. Like I said, I thought it would be weird but I have never felt anything but welcome from them once I get up and talk to them! Disney knows how to pick em.

It took me a few hours but I FINALLY caught up again on your TR, Lia! YAY! But because I seriously had like 7-8 updates to catch up on, I'm not going to comment on a whole ton... I'm just trying to catch up on everyone's TRs today since I have the day off!

Yay! Thanks for catching up, wooo hooo!

You guys are going to LOVE it so much and I can not wait to see your costumes and everything!! I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up at a 2nd MNSSHP honestly.

It really did. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will never stop being grateful for it!

AHH it was ridiculously fun. I miss it! I hope I can go to another 24 hour event in the near future!

Woohoo for half naked men! That's what I call a vacation!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I like you... just saying.

All caught up on my return from WDW!! Loved the MNSSHP updates. So awesome that you decided to go to a 3rd party!
Your meet and greets with the characters really make me miss having younger kids. This trip was with preteen boys, and all they were interested in was riding the headliner rides. :sad1:
I do have to sincerely thank you, though! Because of your recommendations on LeFou's Brew, I took an EMH MK evening and made my way to Gaston's Tavern. The boys would have none of that "Princess" area, so I had to sneak away one night on my own! :thumbsup2 the Brew was just as incredible as you'd said. So thanks. (I even went back for another one a few days later-:rolleyes1)

Hey Lia,

We finially got a chance to get caught up on your last few updates. :) So much great stuff as always. I just had to tell you how great your comments on the Villians Party were, LMAO!! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for all the work that you put into your TR's. It really does pay off with the most entertaining reading on these boards!! All hail the awesome "Queen of the Poly"!!!!!!!

awdwnut (Rob & Jenn)

I just spent the past few nights catching up and must say I have missed being here just to read your TRs! Your excitement over your first MNSSHP is exactly what I hope to experience this year for my own. And now we know that Flynn Rider is not absolutely promised so we won't be incredibly disappointed if he doesn't show up. (But he'd better. I've got a thing for thieves.) Kind of using your TR as my unofficial guide to what possibly to do during the party. Hope you don't mind.

It was a bummer to read how your friend hit the wall during the party, though. :sad1: Disney really is for everyone and it's hard to find just that right person (or persons) who have the same level of vacation energy as you. I hope she's able to look back on the trip just as fondly as you are. Being stuckinDisney looks like such (expensive) fun!
