"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, I am not sane, and neither were half the people in the princess line with me. I made some comment about Flynn to my Mom and the mothers all around me were all “yup, that’s who we’re waiting for” Oh my gosh what a good analogy and use of HP quote!!

OOOOHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!! That has seriously got to be the WORST! Like, ACK! I cannot believe that there was no Rapunzel OR Eugene. I have to agree, since watching Once, I’ve grown to love Snow and Charming so much more!!

I can’t lie, that would be pretty upsetting for me if that happened, I mean, they’re the main part of the princess line at MNSSHP. I don’t get why there wasn’t anyone there, like, there’s still supposed to be “spares” kicking around so that there should be someone!? The CM’s usually aren’t very helpful, I have a friend who gets to hang out with Rapunzel a lot and we were trying to see her in Feb and even knew what to correctly say to not ruin any magic, but still get to see her, and everyone was completely clueless and kinda rude about it until I talked to one of the blue shirted attendants in the princess room, they’re the ones that will know stuff and no one else even bothered to try and help. Yeck. Hopefully you got to meet them next time!

While it really sucks that Rapunzel & Flynn were nowhere to be found, it is beyond ridiculous and so not Disney-like that NO ONE could answer ANY of your questions!! Especially after making you wait so long at a party that you paid extra to attend. Totally unacceptable! I really do hope you were able to meet them later, because I will be pretty upset if I find out they are not at the parties anymore! They are my favorite couple too, and I specifically gave them their own page in DS's autograph book! (The rest of the book is for him, but that page is totally for me!). They actually each have their own space, whereas the other princesses just have their own space and I figure their princes can cram their autograph in with the girls because I could care less about them!

THIS... A Million times THIS! I don't think I've read a more eloquent description of what it is to love Disney and know that each and every character meeting is 100% REAL! I actually feel really sorry for anyone who doesn't get that. :confused3

I know I was admittedly quite amused by the Via Napoli episode and the parade of wait...resses, but definitely not here. Reading this I genuinely felt for you. I kept scrolling slowly, thinking for sure some Disney Magic would happen and BAMM they would appear. So sad this happened to you. :goodvibes :flower3:

And to top it all with all the cluelessness. This would have been such a great time for... TALL GUY!!!

Aww I know exactly what you mean, I kept waiting for that Disney magic to come through and it just didn't. :(

MAN I WISH TALL GUY WAS THERE!!! He knows what's up.

Great update! :)

Thank you!

HAhaha YES I love the middle aged women are swooning over the princes every night just like us.

Yeah, it was really upsetting. I know about the spares too so I was seriously like what on earth could possibly be happening here? I think it was just a really bizarre occurrence that I was unlucky enough to be present for. Blah.

I know, it was very unlike Disney. Don't worry, Rapunzel & Eugene are still there. Well, at least they were on other party nights. I mean, I don't know about the parties this year but I would be shocked if they took them out. They might be in a different location, but I'm sure you'll get to meet them!

You're right, your costume IS awesome. I just can't get over it.

Also.... when you get into Club 33, I'm coming with you.

That sounds like THE MOST adorable Mickey and Minnie meet and greet ever. It's just as magical as the one time I went as Belle. Oh my God. I'm like getting all excited just reading about it. I hope I make it to a MNSSHP this year.

Your story about Eugene not being there made me so sad. I know I would've been in the worst mood ever for the rest of the night. Then again, I'm dramatic. But you know how I do. Then I would've gotten over it and eaten something instead.

Last thing..............

COME TO DISNEY NOW.

Bye :upsidedow

As soon as I read the title to your update, I literally gasped out loud and was like "OH NO...."

What a disappointing and frustrating experience that must have been!! To wait in line for THAT long with no answers, and then not see Rapunzel and Eugene with, again, NO answers??? You're right, this is not a meeting of the Easter Bunny in the local mall, this is meeting some of the most popular characters in Disney World!! :confused3

(Also, not to get nit-picky, but the date on your update says 2011, not 2012 :goodvibes)

No Eugene?! Ugh. I hate that they took the princes out of commission. Eugene was just a big a part of tangled as Rapunzel. I'm so sorry you didn't get your chance to see him! I'm bummed for you. Hopefully you will get a chance to run into him soon!

Thank you Jess!! When I do get into Club 33... I say we go in our Belle and Mickey costumes!! Deal?

Aww yes your M&G was so amazing too!! Hopefully we can both go to MNSSHP again this year! I can't stop thinking about it.

hahaha I am dramatic toooooo IT WAS AWFUL. I mean, I'm sure you remember my frantic texts and I love you SO much for helping me out that night!

Then I would've gotten over it and eaten something instead. LOL yeah this is pretty much what happened.

I WANT TO COME RIGHT NOW. 22 DAYS FROM NOW YOU AND I WILL BE IN DISNEY TOGETHER!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

HAHA you're so right about the Easter Bunny thing! Like this is a pretty big deal, how can NONE of the CMs know what is going on? This is Disney... I guess I just always expect this ridiculously high standard of customer service and sometimes they don't live up to it. You can't be perfect all the time, I guess.

Thanks for telling me!! I will go edit it now!

ME TOO. I wish the princes weren't a party-only thing. I really don't know why they have to do that. I mean, I know they want to make the parties special, but there are other ways. Especially when it comes to princes that are full of personality like Eugene. I mean, Cinderella & Snow's princes don't do all that much except pine for/save them, but Eugene is such a huge part of Tangled! GAh. Maybe now that they have the Tangled restroom area, both of them will greet over there. That would be perfect.

Day 5, Part 7 In Which EVERYBODY SCREAMS!!!!!!!!

Hello humans!! Just a quick note before I get this update going...

GET READY FOR MEGA UPDATES!

#BirthdayFestivus13 is in 22 days. WHAT.

I don't even. I can't even talk about it. I am just like how is this happening, what is going on, etc.

So I want to update like every other day (or more!) if I can. We'll see what happens!

Question: What is a good, free (or at least free trial) movie maker for Windows BESIDES Windows Movie Maker? It's so annoying, it makes my videos skip. I seriously have the frumpiest footage ever from my 2nd (and BEST) MNSSHP and I really want to make a cool video out of it. I'll use Windows Movie Maker if I have to, but it kinda blows. I downloaded Wax, but I can't even open my files into it, so I'll have to convert them before I can try it out. BOO. I'm so used to WMM, I'll probably just end up using it, but if there's another free and easy one out there, PLEASE let me know!

Okay... ONTO THE UPDATE!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

After the epicly devastating Eugene-less M&G, I was very disheartened, but it takes a lot to destroy my good mood in Disney. So we trucked on to Tomorrowland.

@babybritney: I'm so sad about Eugene, but I can't let it ruin my night... Not the first time a prince has alluded me LOL. Sigh

They had amazing light projection everywhere, it was one of my favorite things about the party!

8563376433_732179ca6c_z.jpg

Everything looked really awesome and the party was hoppin' but I was just soooooo down because of what happened with Eugene that I was just like ugh. Whatever.

Buzz only had a 5 minute wait, so we hopped on.

8563376355_e39f003eee_z.jpg

Lee-Anne kicked my butt at this game. I just don't get it. I do not get Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Why would Disney, one of the most innovative and creative companies in the world, have crappy lasers that don't even shoot correctly? They need to update them ASAP.

On this ride I usually just shoot anywhere and enjoy the atmosphere because it closely resembles that of a rave. And who doesn't love raves? Really.

Our ride picture cracks me up because Lee-Anne said I looked like I was posing for a very serious Space Invaders movie poster or something. LOL.

8564478482_413f4046cb_z.jpg

Next, we went on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I was still upset, but I was excited to go on this because it's one of my favorite rides and I knew it would be a cool perspective to view the party from.

8617401391_579fe9d9d0_z.jpg

I also hoped it would relax me, which it kind of did. So I was happier after that.

After paging Mr. Tom Morrow, we checked out one of the candy lines, and it was HUGE! I would find out the next night just how quickly those lines moved, but at the time Lee-Anne and I were like no way are we waiting on a line that long just to get a few pieces of candy. Plus we were scarred for life from waiting all that time for Eugene & Rapunzel for nothing. =(

I desperately wanted to go on Space Mountain... seriously I WAS DYING to go on it. However, I knew Lee-Anne wouldn't go on, and I felt bad going on and making her wait for me, especially since she just waited forever to meet the Prince & Princesses with me. The wait was only 5 minutes, and oh man, walking by without going on was PAINFUL! I knew I had my solo days coming up though, so I got over it.

Here's a random spooky castle shot for your viewing pleasure!

8563376069_d5f4b47312_z.jpg

Lee-Anne said she was going to get some food at the Lunching Pad, but once she saw the menu, she said she didn't want anything since they mainly have snack-like items and she wanted something substantial. I asked what she wanted and she said, "a hot dog or something." So that was perfect cause obviously, Casey's is the place to be if you want a hot dog.

So we left Tomorrowland and headed onto Main Street.

8564478408_2da5aac63b_z.jpg

Once we got to Casey's, oh man, it was PACKED.

The lines were not moving, and HalloWishes was starting soon. We were right near where I wanted to stand to watch it, but I was worried that we were going to finally get to order, the show would start, and we'd be stuck in Casey's, so I asked Lee-Anne if she could wait to eat until after the show, and she said yes, thank God!

She wanted to watch closer to the castle like we had the night before, but I explained how it was better to be further back because HalloWishes was bigger. Honestly, I had no idea how right I was! I very explicitly have avoided spoilers for HalloWishes & Boo To You for years, but I remember my friend telling me that it was "a lot bigger than Wishes," whatever that meant.

Well... I WAS ABOUT TO FIND OUT.

OKAY. HalloWishes.

How do I even describe this? Here is my spoiler-free review: I didn't like the soundtrack that much, but the fireworks themselves are UNBELIEVABLE. I never expected in a million years to see what I saw during this show.

Ok so NOW I'm going to include spoilers, so I suggest skipping this part if you've never seen it.

So, the show is narrated by our lovely Ghost Host. Villians such as Jafar, Oogey Boogey, and Ursula take over the show.

What I didn't like about the soundtrack was that they don't use the original songs. They have unrecognizable voices singing songs like This Is Halloween and Poor Unfortunate Souls. I really didn't like that, and it didn't make sense. I mean, if Ursula is there talking to us and working her magic over the castle, who are these random people singing Poor Unfortunate Souls? Why wouldn't she sing it? I have to say though, over 3 parties, I actually came to enjoy the new voices more than I did that night. So it's not the best choice in my opinion, but it's nice for a change I guess.

So the music does work, the whole thing still rocks, and the fireworks display is just spectacular. At one point, there are SPINNING FIREWORKS ON the castle. YES, on. I don't know how they do this so that the castle doesn't set on fire, but they do. It's Disney, what can I tell ya.

My favorite part of the show was when Oogey Boogey comes out. I have always been obsessed with The Nightmare Before Christmas, even when I was really little. I personally HATE how underused this masterpiece is in the parks. It's ridiculous. One of my biggest regrets pretty much in LIFE is that I didn't bring this up to Tim Burton when I met him. I can not even tell you how badly I need him to design an attraction for Disney World, like that would only be the best thing that has ever happened to this UNIVERSE.

MNSSHP is pretty much perfect all around, however the only thing I really don't like about it is how they STILL don't really utilize it. I mean, Oogey Boogey is in the show, and they play the music from the movie around the park, but that's about it. At Disneyland, they transform the entire Haunted Mansion for the holidays to add in TNBC characters, and you can meet & greet with Jack and Sally. At Hong Kong Disneyland, they have a Halloween parade with THIS amazing float:

8661703509_1c7f56da2c_z.jpg

SO I really don't get why they don't do something more with this movie in the parks, especially around Halloween. I know they can't do the same thing with the Mansion, but why don't we have Jack & Sally M&Gs? Why are there no TNBC attractions? Why isn't there anything to do with TNBC in the Boo To You parade!??!?? It's the one Disney movie that REVOLVES AROUND HALLOWEEN and yet they hardly feature it at the HALLOWEEN PARTY. It's a ridiculous mystery.

But anyway, enough of my rant, back to HalloWishes!!!

So, in the "This is Halloween" song from TNBC, they sing "Everybody scream! Everybody scream! In our town of Halloween...." and in HalloWishes, the characters actually ask you all to scream, and everyone screams. IT'S SO AWESOME. Everyone on Main Street just SHRIEKING. I love it. I love screaming, I love Halloween, I love Disney... it was just all coming together for me right there.

AND THEN. The coolest fireworks I have EVER SEEN happened.

I was shocked.

Speechless.

Looking around in wonderment at the fireworks that suddenly SURROUNDED me.

I don't even know how to describe this, but I will try.

The fireworks are panoramic basically. So suddenly, BOOM, white fireworks go off to the left and right of the castle, but there are so many that it stretches to the left and right of YOU, too. All at the same time. So some of them look like they're being set off like where Adventureland is, and on the other side, Tomorrowland.

It was SHOCKING. I had no idea they did that. Avoiding spoilers all those years paid off BIGTIME because I was completely thrilled!

It was totally unreal and absolutely stunning. I have no idea where they set those off from, because it looked like they were SO CLOSE to where we were, but I knew they couldn't be *that* close. I don't know. it was CA-RAZY.

In closing, HalloWishes is obviously a must do. Don't pass this by for other Halloween Party stuff. Make sure you've got your money maker parked on Main Street at 9:30. You don't wanna miss this!

After HalloWishes, it was like 9:45, and we really didn't have that much time until the 2nd Boo To You Parade started at 10:30. I really wanted to get over to Frontierland/Liberty Square to find a good spot, but Lee-Anne still had to get her food, so went into Casey's. It was now empty, thank God.

The weird thing was, I wasn't even hungry, but I was so anxious to get a good spot for the parade that I had all this nervous energy. What better way to crush anxiety than with food? Especially DISNEY that food you don't have to pay for due to free dining!

I tried not to rush Lee-Anne, but I told her that whenever she wanted to go, I was ready, cause I really wanted to get a great spot for Boo To You. Like, I don't think she was understanding that I would be mentally and emotionally ruined if another thing at this party went wrong.

It was annoying because it felt like we had no time to just enjoy the party, it was like rush here and rush there, which just made me even MORE upset that we had wasted almost an hour in line for characters that weren't even there. Ugh.

I had always wanted to try the corn dog nuggets, so I ordered them with fries and a coke. They were good! I've never even had a corn dog before, but I love pigs in a blanket so I figured I'd like it, and I did. But more importantly: DISNEY FRIES! :D

8563376019_fcf6ac6945_z.jpg

We sat on the bleachers in the back, and as soon as Lee-Anne finished her hot dog, I combined my nuggets and fries into one container and we headed over to Frontierland.

Up Next: The Boo To You Parade. AKA: The highlight of my life.

I'll be interested in hearing about free movie editors, too. Whatever is on my computer doesn't recognize the video files my camera takes. I have been just uploading clips to YouTube, making them private, then using YouTube editor to put them all together. It's not that great of a program, though. Not too many options and it's kind of hard to get it exactly the way I want it.

I can't wait to see HalloWishes!!!! I am pulling for a Halloween 2014 trip.

Do you use Facebook? I'd love to read live updates from your birthday trip!! I'm not a Tweeter, though! lol

Gah! I can't wait to go to MNSSHP!!! Even with your spoilers I think I will be amazed! I even think I am going to try to get the kids to wait until later in the night to collect candy so they aren't weighed down early on. Can't wait to hear about the parade (grabbing popcorn and a good seat...)!

I can see how the party would feel a bit frustrating, feeling like you have to rush from activity to activity, to then wait! It sounds like it had some awesome experiences though!! Those fireworks sound amazing!

My hubby and I went to MNSSHP in 2009. I am pretty sure they had a float with Jack. I was so excited because it is one of my favorites. Now it is my daughters favorite and we are hoping to take her in the next few years. She will be really sad if she doesn't see Jack.

I know, it's so annoying. I wish you could get iMovie on PCs.

Make it happen!!! It's seriously the best time to go!

I'm not really a Facebook person, but my Twitter is public. So you can check it for updates at any time without having an account. :) http://www.twitter.com/babybritney

You will definitely be amazed! The candy lines go right to the end of the party so you can do that. Though I doubt they will be able to resist waiting... it's just utopia for kids. If I had gone to MNSSHP has a kid I would have lost it. Also, they give out candy during the parade... but you will hear about all that in the next update! :D

I can see how the party would feel a bit frustrating, feeling like you have to rush from activity to activity, to then wait! It sounds like it had some awesome experiences though!! Those fireworks sound amazing!

Yeah exactly. That's why it's so important to arrive to the party early! But my 2nd and 3rd nights were a LOT more relaxed and so much better because I had time! Obviously it's not like a family of 5 can afford to do multiple MNSSHPs though, so I know it's not possible for everyone.

My hubby and I went to MNSSHP in 2009. I am pretty sure they had a float with Jack. I was so excited because it is one of my favorites. Now it is my daughters favorite and we are hoping to take her in the next few years. She will be really sad if she doesn't see Jack.

I was surprised to hear you say this, so I just watched a video on Youtube of the parade from 2009 - http://youtu.be/Ek5964xc3lA There was no Jack, are you sure it was him? They did have a pumpkin head that resembles the one Jack wears at the beginning of the movie, but he isn't dressed as Jack, so that wasn't him. There are people with skeleton faces in the parade too, but no official Jack Skellington. So maybe you are thinking of one of them? Unless Jack was in the parade only on certain nights or something back in 09. I personally have never heard of him being at the WDW MNSSHP, unfortunately :( So unless they change it in the future (I WISH) you might wanna prepare her in advance that Jack won't be there (or plan a trip to Disneyland).

I did however find this: http://youtu.be/_uYW5IXoVN0 !!!!!!!! Jack & Sally were greeting at DOWNTOWN DISNEY of all places as a promotion for Frankenweenie at the end of Sept 2012! I can't believe it. I don't know how they could have these characters at DTD to promote a movie they are not even in, and yet they don't have them at the Halloween Party, when their whole movie is about Halloween. Le sigh.

That is so sad about Eugene and Rapunzel. But I mean, who really cares about Rapunzel when Eugene is in the picture. Let’s be real now. And I cannot believe the CMs couldn’t give you any info at all. Isn’t that supposed to be part of their JOB?! So un-Disney like.

The guns at Buzz don’t work at all. The ones at Disneyland come out of the vehicle, which I would think would be a lot better.

They had spinning fireworks at MVMCP and IT WAS SO COOL OMG.

THAT. JACK. FLOAT. AT. HONG. KONG. DISNEYLAND. HOLY. CRAP.

SO EXCITED TO HEAR ABOUT THE BOO TO YOU PARADE.

OCTOBER 25, 2012
Day 5, Part 8 In Which It's Really Not So Scary!

SO, the thing I wanted to see most at MNSSHP (besides Eugene) was the Headless Horseman.

If you aren't aware of what I'm talking about, let me explain. Before the Boo To You parade, the Headless Horseman from Sleepy Hollow literally rides through the Magic Kingdom.

It's a dude on a horse who is HEADLESS, okay? He has no head. And he is riding on a horse. Through the Magic Kingdom.

I just think it's so awesome that Disney is cool with decapitated ghosts riding around. I know I am.

Ever since I heard about him, years ago, I just thought it was the coolest thing EVER that they do this, and I wanted to make sure I had a good view, so I asked on the boards where the best place to be was. Everyone said either Frontierland or Liberty Square, near the bridge.

Once we got over to Liberty Square, it was already PACKED. I didn't know how we were going to find a front row spot, which made me a little upset at first. However, due to my epic front row skills thanks to years upon years of Hanson shows, I was able to squeeze us in right in front of Liberty Tree Tavern! I sat here the next night, too, and I have to say that it's the PERFECT location to view the parade. It really sets MNSSHP apart for me because I almost always view the regular MK parades on Main Street. So seeing it in a different location amps it up.

8563375927_954a81f0bb_z.jpg

The announcement for the Headless Horseman came soon. It was longer and more dramatic than I thought it would be. VERY VERY EXCITING!!!

I stood up, held onto my head, and watched with eyes as big as saucers as a headless man galloped by on a horse. IT WAS SO FREAKING COOL YOU GUYS. You will see a video of it when I am on Night #2 of MNSSHP. I actually just completed my video of the whole night and it's 24 minutes long! And i'm ridiculous in it. BUT you will love it if you love my TR. I can't wait to show all of you!

Yes, the Headless Horseman totally lived up to my expectations of wanting to see it all these years. Oh man. I was PUMPED. I could not WAIT for this parade!!! It was running a little bit late, which at the time was annoying but it really just pumped the drama up even more so that when I did finally see it, it was even better.

Now, like I said, I stayed mostly spoiler-free when it came to Boo To You. All I knew about the parade was that everyone said it was AMAZING, better than all the other parades, and that there was an awesome Haunted Mansion section featuring ghosts, dead people, and that guy walking his dog through the graveyard. That's all I knew.

What happened TOTALLY EXCEEDED MY HIGHEST EXPECTATIONS.

OH MY GOD, THIS PARADE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS DISNEY HAS EVER DONE. EVER.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA. HOW MUCH I LOVE. THIS PARADE. It had my heart and soul exploding.

It's such an incredible, fun, creative, and SPOOKY celebration of Disney. You don't even know. I think about it all the time. I sing the song all the time. I thought it would taper off, but 6 months later, I am still so obsessed. Every time I think about it, I just get so happy.

Here is the music for you to listen to while you read this update: http://youtu.be/J9x974zQ0Cc

Oh my God, when I listen to this music (which is often) it just takes me right back there and reminds me of how utterly special all 3 of my parties were to me. I am just so happy and thankful I got to have these experiences and the memories are so strong that it just goes on and on. I LOVE MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have not seen this parade before, I suggest you don't view my pictures. It will be so much better for you to see it for yourself in person one day and be surprised like I was. But to each their own!

I don't have pics of everything because I was mostly in shock the whole time, and they're not that good, just a fair warning! At my 2nd MNSSHP night, I filmed some of my favorite moments, so stay tuned for that video!

Loved these girls at the beginning! Every costume in this entire parade is UNREAL.

8564477744_f5bac71008_z.jpg

A bunch of characters came out holding masks and dancing around. It was so fun!

8563375425_42efdb98de_z.jpg

I SCREAMED!!! Because Aladdin was dressed as Prince Ali. I don't know what came over me in this moment but that just set me off. Normally I wouldn't even freak out over that at all, but everything had just come to a head and I became like a frantic child. Like, more than usual. "ALADDIN IS IN HIS PRINCE COSTUME!!!!!!!!!! THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!" was what I was screaming. Like I was unhinged and losing it completely at this point.

Next came Minnie, Mickey, Daisy, and Donald, dancing along to the Boo To You song. They were saying such cute things, welcoming us to the party! It was adorable!

8563375339_59b496be77_z.jpg

I see ya got my invitation! Welcome to my NOT SO SCARY Halloween Party!

I love that he says that, IT IS SO ADORABLE. If I had kids I would totally make an invitation and mail it to our house and really tell them that Mickey invited us to his Halloween party and so that's why we're going to Disney. OMG I have to do that one day.

8564477374_5498a1e0cd_z.jpg

The characters from Pooh had the CUTEST costumes! I think it's especially hilarious the Eeyore is dressed as a clown. And look, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *crying*

8564477296_be2fdcc736_z.jpg

IT'S KANGA AND ROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

8563374945_a0a77fc044_z.jpg

They were on this float with Rabbit, too! It is so awesome seeing these characters out!

8564477118_dd3124e20d_z.jpg

Peter Pan, Wendy, and a bunch of Lost Boys came along, and they had the cutest bit where they would chase each other around like they were all playing. I loved seeing the Lost Boys - I don't think I had ever before! It was doubly awesome b/c I once played a lost boy in a production of Peter Pan! hahaha

8563374777_b5d207e60b_z.jpg

And then the pirates! This was awesome because Hook and Smee were mixed in with Pirates of the Caribbean. I loved it b/c they had performers that were costumed to look like the pirates on the ride, not in the movie. It was an ode to the attraction!

8563374717_391e9109bc_z.jpg

8564476828_1a7737d2b8_z.jpg

Jack Sparrow is on the top of this one!

Ok so, I didn't get a good picture, but this next part was awesome. They had a gang of Pirates doing a dance with flags. Now, we all know that besides all the pillaging, a lot of choreography goes on in the Pirate world.

These guys were so great, in fact, every single performer in this parade was fantastic. The pirates would say ARRRRR!!! really loudly, sometimes right in your face. I loved it!

AND NEXT... THE MOST AMAZING, FLAWLESS THING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. THE HAUNTED MANSION SECTION.

8563374485_14d82c5da5_z.jpg

8564476664_13c5fe6454_z.jpg

The graveyard guy, COMPLETE WITH A REAL BLOOD HOUND! Ahhhhfkdjhsflkjdhflkjshfd. I am completely in love with and obsessed with every dog I see, and since my dog passed away about 2 years ago, almost every dog I see makes me tear up. The bloodhound came almost right up to me, but I could tell how well trained he was, cause he just sniffed along and walked around, without actually looking at any of the people watching him. It was amazing, I mean there was no CM giving him direction or anything, the dog was just perfectly in character!

I just love that they brought this part of the Haunted Mansion to life. It was so freaking cool.

So then there was this group of creepy, angry gravediggers that were dragging shovels along the ground as they moved and scowled at us, causing sparks to fly up from the ground. WHAT A GREAT EFFECT. AHH. These guys were great too... there was one dude I saw all 3 nights that was unreal. He had dark skin and a shaved head, you'll probably remember if you saw him cause he was INTENSE.

8564476566_645eb3b0e8_z.jpg

AND THIS WAS MY FAVORITE PARTFHAKHJSDFKDJSFLSKDJF.

8564476470_225ed51446_z.jpg

The dead dancers. Oh my god. These people were so talented. Their movements, their facial expressions... I can't even explain. If dead people actually could come back and ballroom dance, it would look exactly like this.

My favorite was when they'd drop their head dramatically to the side, like it was about to fall off. They would dance all together and then break away and "scare" those of us watching. SO awesome.

8563374107_4a48d0e086_z.jpg

Oh how I wish I had this job. I'm pretty sure if I was a ballroom dancing zombie in Disney World I would be too happy to exist. I would just turn into a sun beam or a rainbow or something and burn out. BEST THING EVER.

There were 2 other floats in this section: one with a bunch of tombstones on it, and one with the hitch hiking ghosts on it. SO UNBELIEVABLY COOL. I can't even tell you the extent to which I was LOSING IT. It was all so amazing. My love of creepy things and Disney collided in a BIG BAD WAY and I was just beside myself. This is now the #1 job I want most in Disney World. I know you have to be doing something else to get the chance to be a ballroom dancer though, so it's not like it's easy. But if they offered me a job doing that for even one month my butt would be down to Orlando SO FAST. AHHHHHH.

Up Next: SCROLL DOWN!!! More BOO TO YOU & an odd finish to my first MNSSHP night. The next update will be a long one, so settle in, folks!

OCTOBER 25, 2012
Day 5, Part 9 In Which There Is A Flailing Chicken And Other Things I Don't Understand

The next section of Boo To You was Frontierland themed! I LOVED that so much of this parade was a tribute to the most popular Magic Kingdom attractions. I felt bad for Lee-Anne, cause she had no idea what was going on in this section. She said something like, "What is this? It's so random!" But of course, it wasn't. Things in Disney are rarely random.

It's kind of like Disney winking to those of us who are big fans and come all the time, like, THIS IS FOR YOU GUYS. She kept being like, "This doesn't make sense!" and I was like OH BUT IT DOES! It's Frontierland!! That's Brer Fox and Brer Bear!!!! I was just in Disney fan heaven.

Though, it is true that Frontierland isn't really Halloweeny. If anything, it fits in more with the fall theme. I wouldn't be mad if they replaced it with a Nightmare Before Christmas section. Now THAT would make my whole entire life.

My favorite part of this was the beginning. The best looking guys in the whole damn park (besides Eugene, not that I knew due to NOT SEEING HIM) came by dressed as cowboys in very tight outfits. They are carrying rope, and do a dance with it much like the pirates with their flags. At one point, the cowboys hold hands in pairs and one supports the other as he JUMPS THROUGH THE AIR.

I don't. Even know.

I don't have any pictures because I was fanning myself in a stunned silence.

They were just all so hot, and they were in the air. It was remarkable.

I really just wanted to ask them all out on a collective date, but I fear I was not their type.

So then the Country Bears came dancing by...

8564476302_7a30124910_z.jpg

These dancers were so adorable (I know the girl looks slightly nuts here due to the glowing eyes, but I promise, they were super cute!).

Then this barn floated by, and then there was a tower with a flailing chicken in it. Which was perfect, basically. This confused Lee-Anne, and to tell you the truth I wasn't quite sure what the flailing chicken was about either, but I enjoyed it. SO funny.

THEN THIS SEXY AS HELL BAND CAME OUT AND I FELL OVER.

8564476226_82230656ab_z.jpg

Ooohh.. "IT'S GOOD TO BE BAD!" This skeleton band plays as the soundtrack changes a bit so it's like they're singing about how good it feels to be bad. Oooh, it's delightfully devilish.

8564476162_0d3e67a424_z.jpg

WHEW. *Fanning myself* Why must I always go for the bad boys? It's like, if you don't know how to apply skeleton make-up correctly, we're not going to work as a couple.

GUESS WHO WAS ON THE BACK OF THIS FLOAT???????? PAIN AND FREAKIN' PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FROM HERCULES IF YOU LIVE UNDER A ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8564476042_c0159e5cd3_z.jpg

More screaming. OMG. I swear, this parade is for the Disney diehards. Hercules is another way underused Disney movie, and I was SO happy to see Pain and Panic there! omg! Now, if only they could figure out a way to bring Hades to life, I would die happy. The Evil Queen was there too, but who cares about her when you have CHARACTERS FROM HERCULES? Really.

8564475954_ab01b96803_z.jpg

Then, a random assortment of Villians came out and danced around. I booed at them with glee and clapped along as they sung about how fun it is to be evil!

Aaaand one of my skeleton boyfriends was just chillin.

8563373571_2c7ed96872_z.jpg

8563373481_15111bd855_z.jpg

TDKJFALKDHJFALKDJFHKAJDHF THE HYENEAS FROM THE LION KING!!! AM I DREAMING?? WHAT IS THIS MAGIC??????????? I honestly didn't even know this was a thing. Like I did not know the hyenas were ever seen in Disney. So I was just like in awe and screaming.

8564475728_a4f45f4b66_z.jpg

The finale of the parade is Goofy's Candy Company (notice the Goof Year tire) coming through and delivering tons of Mickey lollipops. You open your treat bag and CMs come by and drop the pops in your bag as they dance merrily along and Goofy rides by on a giant gumball machine.

8564475448_0c3d24ceec_z.jpg

Sigh, it was heaven.

Overall, like I said, this parade is just absolutely spectacular. I can not even explain how much I LOVE it. It's one of my favorite things Disney has ever done and I want to see it over and over and over AND OVER AND OVER UNTIL I DIEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

In general, the parades at the American Disney Parks are just not as good as the ones overseas, for some bizarre reason I can't understand (seriously, check them out on Youtube if you don't believe me - it's kind of shocking). However, Boo To You is a cut above.

Hollywood Studios just pulled their Pixar Pals parade, and I hope it's replaced with something that just elevates the quality of all the parades going forward. Now, I'm not saying I'm not a fan of the current parades, cause I COMPLETELY am, but Boo To You is on another level creatively and I hope to see more of that in the future!

I just.

Love it.

SO MUCH.

BOOK YOUR TRIPS NOW, PEOPLE. Do not miss this. If you are a big enough Disney fan that you are reading my trip report right now, you need to see it. NEED TO. At least 7 times in your life. SERIOUSLY.

@babybritney: I want to see the Boo To You Parade 400 more times.

@babybritney: Seriously, if you're a big Disney fan, and you haven't been to the party, the parade is worth the price alone. AHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

So my friend Jess and I had been texting back and forth. She has a CM friend who is a character attendant so she texted him to ask what was up regarding the whole Eugene incident. He told her to tell me that Rapunzel and Eugene would definitely be greeting until like 11:15, so we made a plan to book it back to the Town Square theater after the parade ended.

The problem was, the parade had ended in Liberty Square, but it still took a lot of time to get down Main Street and be fully over. We were able to get as far as the area ACROSS from the Town Square Theater, but couldn't get across the street. I was a bit frustrated, but I was happy to see the end of Boo To You again in a different location, so there were a lot of mixed emotions going on!

8563373087_5e4b79de17_z.jpg

So exciting to see PAIN and PANIC again!!!

Dr. Facillier was AMAZING. I was seriously so impressed by him.

Notice the giant bat-like wings behind the Evil Queen are from that giant demon from Fantasia!!! CRAZY SHIZNIT GOING ON AT MNSSHP YOU GUYS. Hide yo kids hide yo wife.

8563372315_e995b7e90e_z.jpg

Finally, the parade REALLY ends, and we make our way across the street. I start to walk in and Lee-Anne is like, "I'm not waiting in that line again."

Ah, the trouble of going with someone who is not as die hard as you. I'd wait in that line 15 times over to meet Eugene, honestly, I just HAD to.

I was like, "Oh come on, it's not going to be long like that again, it's late and that was a weird incident last time." But she was just like no way, and said that her back was hurting. I felt bad that she was in pain, but I just wished she would have come in with me. If the line was long again she could have sat down and relaxed. But she was just not up for it.

I wasn't mad at her, just frustrated that we were on different wavelengths here. But I was kind of upset. Who wants to separate from their friend and go meet characters alone? Really.

She said she would sit on a bench outside and wait for me. And in comes my guilt. UGH. Like, I just wish I cared about people less sometimes b/c as soon as she said that I *knew* I wasn't going to be able to go meet the man of my dreams in good conscience.

The party was nearing the end, and I was gonna let my friend sit alone on a bench? I don't think so.

I was conflicted b/c it WAS her choice to do so, so I kind of felt like I was in between a rock and a hard place. I wished she would just come in, but at the same time I didn't want to do something I've been excited about doing for months with someone who didn't even want to do it.

Sigh.

On the other hand I thought, who knows, maybe Eugene IS there now and the line is super short, and I can be in and out in 15 minutes and it'll be good for Lee-Anne to get that bit of rest waiting outside on the bench. But what if he's not there? What if I wait a long time, and he and Rapunzel still aren't there, and again our precious MNSSHP time is wasted?

I contemplated all this for a minute after I got on line and it barely moved. I got pretty nervous that the same thing would happen again. So I walked back to the entrance and asked the CMs there the same things I had been asking CMs all night: WERE RAPUNZEL AND EUGENE IN THAT ROOM?

No idea. Couldn't give me an answer. Either of them. The best one guy could do was "I know Rapunzel was in there before, but I don't know if she is now." WELL WHAT CHANGED? I said, "Oh, well would you be able to find out please? My friend and I really wanted to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider before, and we waited like 45 minutes, and they weren't there, so I just don't want to spend another 45 minutes in line if I don't know they're going to be in there" The CMs were just kind of like "Ohhhh yeah, we don't really know."

Just completely not helpful. Now I was mad.

HOW HARD IS IT FOR THE CMs IN THE PRINCESS ROOM TO LET THE CMs OUTSIDE THE ROOM KNOW WHO IS IN THERE? Honestly.

Seriously, I was so disappointed in Disney. I walked out feeling really dejected. If it was me alone I would have taken the chance and just got in the freaking line, but I felt too guilty with Lee-Anne sitting outside. So at that point I knew it was over.

No Eugene.

I was just super down at this point. Call me silly, but I thought I was leaving a couple days later and that my one shot at MNSSHP was blown. My one chance of meeting Eugene... gone.

I actually started crying a little. I know I'm ridiculous but I was SO incredibly disappointed. Years of anticipation built up to this night. Meeting Mickey & Minnie and seeing HalloWishes and Boo To You had been incredible, but the rest of the it went completely wrong. Everything from the rain making us late, to wasting all that time in line only to not meet Eugene at the end, having to rush around, not getting to trick or treat, hardly meeting any characters in general, Lee-Anne not going back in the Town Square with me, and ALL of the CMs there just being generally incompetent just got to me. And now the party was almost over, and all the character lines would start to be cut off. I was just so upset.

We heard the last Villains Show start, and Lee-Anne started walking really fast up toward the castle to catch it. I honestly did not care at that point. I had really wanted to see it, but my dreams were basically crushed, so I didn't feel like speed walking.

When I did finally get up to the castle, I was so confused by what the Villains show was. I don't think it has a plot or anything, it's just some of the Villains acting crazy and dancing? At the end, the Queen of Hearts dances solo to Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and it was SO WEIRD because when have you ever heard a non-Disney song in a show at Disney World? I was confused and crying, it was not a good look.

8617401219_4c89039f4c_z.jpg

After the show, the Villains come down from the stage for M&Gs. Originally I had planned to do this, but I was so upset that I really didn't feel like interacting with them at that moment. Also I just have to mention that I don't know why people think meeting the Villains is so cool anyway. Oh wow, you met Jafar? He tried to kill Aladdin and Jasmine repeatedly so good for you. LOL. I TAKE THIS STUFF SERIOUSLY, OK?

The one villain I really wanted to meet was Gaston, because I just thought the interaction would be hilarious, but I didn't see him anywhere.

I suggested we go to Adventureland, since Lee-Anne still hadn't gotten to go there and had been asking me about it all night.

8617401111_17c722d172_z.jpg

As we walked up to it, I dried my eyes and decided to pull myself together. Yeah, I was UPSET, but I was also at the Magic Kingdom. I had about 30 precious minutes of MNSSHP left and I was NOT going to waste them! No matter what happened... I was still in Disney World, so everything could go wrong... and it would still be okay. Cause it's Disney.

As we came up on POTC, I said, "I think we should go on Pirates!"

I was very excited to go on - I don't think I've ever been on Day 6 of a trip having not been on POTC yet. The very thought of finally riding it cheered me up!

Once we got to the queue, Lee-Anne said, "I don't wanna go on." I thought it was because she thought it was a thrill ride, so I quickly explained that it wasn't.

She said, "Yeah, but I don't wanna go on any more rides."

I explained that this was not just ANY ride. It was PIRATES OF THE FREAKIN' CARIBBEAN! A classic. Something Walt Disney himself worked on. It would be worth it to fly to Florida, ride Pirates of the Caribbean, and then immediately fly home. IT'S PIRATES! Anyone going to Disney World can not miss this ride.

It was a firm no. There was NO WAY she was riding that puppy. Cue my jaw dropping to the ground and hitting the concrete with a big SLAM! noise much like in a cartoon.

It wasn't just that I wanted to go on - I genuinely felt like letting Lee-Anne skip this ride would be doing a disservice to her. Like as a friend, I could not let her miss this. I mean, HOW can you go to Disney and not ride PIRATES?!?! But she just wouldn't go. And I gave up. I just couldn't believe I was trying to talk someone into riding Pirates of the Caribbean. I mean, I love Lee-Anne, but I don't know what was happening there. A person at Disney World who didn't want to go on rides? I was utterly confused.

She then said that she didn't want to go to the breakfast we had planned at Crystal Palace the next morning either. That bummed me out even more, since I had started to get really excited about it. She didn't want to go to the MK that morning at all, actually, and again I was just so shocked.

Her reason was that she didn't want to rush to make it back in time for Magical Express. I hate rushing, so I understood, but we could have just arrived at Crystal Palace early and made it back in time for her ME pickup time as long as we didn't stay at breakfast too long. I mean, it was totally doable. But she didn't think so.

I asked what she wanted to do the next morning then and she said she didn't want to go anywhere or do anything before her ME pickup time. She said that she was just burned out, and that made me really sad. It was just so off putting because it was like she was suddenly done with Disney World. I mean, her ME pick-up time was not until 12:05 PM, so I was really surprised she wanted to waste the whole morning. Even if I was really tired, I'd get up early, hit a park, and pass out on the plane, you know? I guess people just have their limits and she hit hers in that moment in front of POTC, which was super unfortunate.

Being the huge Disney freak that I am, I was completely confused by this. Being burned out on Disney does not compute. On my last night in Disney, and my last morning, I would never even consider not doing anything or going anywhere. In my opinion, you gotta squeeze whatever you can out of your trip before you have to leave! So I still don't understand why she suddenly didn't want to do anything.

So, since she didn't want to go on any rides, I asked what she wanted to do. She said she just wanted to walk around.

I was confused again because if she was burned out and tired and her back hurt, it would have been better to go on Pirates and sit down for awhile, not walk around. But I didn't argue. I think I was just so puzzled by the whole thing that I was just like whatever at that point.

I don't want it to come off like I'm saying bad stuff about Lee-Anne or anything, because like I said, I wasn't mad at her. I didn't take it personal. I was just fully annoyed that we weren't on the same page, and I didn't understand why she felt the way she did. Overall Lee-Anne is a really understanding and kind friend so I tried to be that for her too even though inside I was screaming to do something else.

Now... walking around the Magic Kingdom aimlessly is one of my favorite things to do in life.... BUT NOT AT MNSSHP!!! There's candy to be had! Rarely seen characters to meet! Rides to be ridden with no lines! Dance parties! ETC ETC ETC.

It was VERY HARD for me to go along with this. I'm not saying I deserve a medal or anything but oh my God I was just like WHAT ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW. We started walking and she wanted to stop and look around in the Pirates gift shop.

Of all the things that you can do at MNSSHP... we were in the (completely deserted) Pirates store. When I say that my head was spinning.... you don't even know. I just did not understand. Do you understand? Because I do not.

As midnight (closing time) approached, I really started to get upset. Again. I couldn't believe I was spending my last MNSSHP moments in the Pirates store, of all places.

I mean, I have no Disney limit, but if I did have a limit, it certainly wouldn't kick in at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Dudes, you don't even get it - I wanted to suck the marrow out of the bone of this party. And we were wandering around a store.

I started crying again. AGAIN, I know it's silly, but just couldn't help it! In the moment, I was just devastated over how the night had gone. I walked away from Lee-Anne so she didn't see because I didn't want it to turn into a whole thing. I knew if she saw me she'd ask if I was okay, and I'd start talking about it and cry more, and then it would turn into a whole full fledged crying at MNSSHP scene and I REALLY didn't want that.

I think the problem here (which I didn't realize until afterward) is that I had told Lee-Anne during the whole trip that since it was her first time in Disney in 17 years, we could do whatever she wanted to do. I did this because I've gotten to go so many times, so I thought it was only right. Even though I hated skipping my favorite thrill rides and sometimes didn't wanna do the things she did, I was OK with it in the end because I knew I had two solo days after she left to do all that. BUT - and here's the big difference - I had never been to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party before and had dreamed of going for YEARS. It wasn't like normal Disney World that I've seen so many times and could see more of after Lee-Anne left. So I really wasn't okay with doing whatever she wanted to do. I had to have a say this time, and I had a distinct plan that I had made myself b/c she didn't want to be involved in the planning. And I really WAS NOT okay with the other mishaps of the evening. For all I knew, it could be years until my next MNSSHP. (Thank goodness it wasn't. Oh my God.)

In the moment, I thought... these are my last minutes of MNSSHP and we're not even doing anything! And I was truly angry and very upset. Like I said, I had dreamed of doing MNSSHP for years and I thought this was my only chance.

So we walked through Adventureland, to Liberty Square and into Fantasyland. As we approached Peter Pan's Flight, I remembered Lee-Anne saying she wanted to ride that again before we left, so I suggested it just so we could do SOMETHING. She said she wanted to go on. I was just like baffled because this was something she had already done and she was fine with riding and yet she totally refused to go on Pirates, a classic attraction she had never been on. At this point I just wanted to get through the night without losing it so I didn't question it, I just tried to enjoy the ride.

I honestly don't remember much else about the night except sadness! Womp womp. If I only knew in that moment that I would get to do TWO more Halloween parties, I would have been fine, but at the time I was just so sad.

Thank God for Boo Too You, HalloWishes, and that awesome Mickey & Minnie M&G, because besides that, the night had been a pretty big bust. I couldn't help but wish I could come back and have a do-over.

I had two more nights in Disney (Remember - at the time I didn't know that my flight on Oct 28 would be canceled and I'd be #StuckInDisney12), so I checked the party dates on Allears.net to see there was a party on either the 26th or the 27th. I saw that there in fact was another party the following night (the 26th), but I didn't know if I wanted to go. I mean, I've done the parks solo plenty, but the Halloween party? I was worried I'd be super lonely and just feel weird meeting characters by myself, and getting candy, and the whole deal. Plus... with a pricetag of $70, MNSSHP is not cheap, especially when you've already paid to go once. So I was leaning toward no.

Like I said, I had been texting with Jess. I knew she would understand all my frustrations being that it is also impossible to burn her out on Disney. She totally understood and was so comforting to me!

Jess told me over and over that I HAD to do the party again. It even wasn't like she was suggesting it, or saying "I really think you should go." She was just like "DO IT. Trust me Lia. This way you won't have any regrets and you can do whatever you want." I'm SO HAPPY that I talked to her about it, because she really did convince me. She really changed my mind from being not so sure if I should go to the party again to being like 100% sure that I obviously had to do the party again. So THANK YOU JESS!!!

Honestly, I'm happy that things were not so great at my first Not So Scary, because if the night had gone perfectly, I might not have decided to go a 2nd and then 3rd time, and I would have missed out on two of the most FUN NIGHTS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. Oh my God, I can't even wait til you guys hear about my other party experiences. I can't even describe how much I love MNSSHP and how special all of this was to me, but I will try anyway!!!

Up next: Bidding farewell to Lee-Anne, checking into ALL STAR MOVIES, hanging out at Downtown Disney and getting lots of FOOD, MY 2ND AND BEST MNSSHP IN WHICH I GET TO VISIT NEW FANTASYLAND AND HAVE BASICALLY THE BEST NIGHT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

OMG I would have been incredibly frustrated, too!!!!! It sounds like she hit a wall and just stopped! LOL That can't happen in Disney!!! I can't wait to hear about the next party night, though!

I need to go to that party like yesterday!! I am alllllll about parades and that one seems totally amazing!

I'm sorry Lee-Ann hit the wall. That would be crushing to me but not everyone is a disnerd unfortunately where they can go go go and not stop. I definitely think you handled it well. It stinks that there was so much disappointment but that probably made the next party that much better! (What was up with those cast members, come on!) Can't wait to hear about it!

Okay, now you really convinced me that I need to go to this party and see the parade! So that and the F&W Festival are on my to do list!
