Hi everyone,

Has this ever happened to anyone here. I planned my upcoming trip over a year ago. I became obsessed with these boards and talked about it to my wife and anyone else who would listen. By the way, not everyone is into Disney. Well anyway, I think I talked about it so much I'm kind of burnt out. I think by planning and thinking about it all this time I took some of the fun away. Hopefully when I get there in 60 days I will realize that I'm just being silly and it dosen't matter. But I guess my question to you all is has this ever happened to any of you.

my problem is everything is done that can be done at this point. The airline tickets are bought, the theme park tickets are bought, the hotel is reserved, the car is rented. Now its just waiting, and thats the hard part. The closer you get, your excitement should pick-up! And I agree not everyone is in to Disney, in fact most people could careless about our trip. Thats why I love to come here, "We care!!!" good luck!!

I've had this same feeling. don't worry it'll pass.

I'm sure you'll have a blast.

I call it a 'slump'. Switch your focus from planning to anticipating. Do you have Disney planning videos to watch? Music CDs to listen to?

Go out and buy your post card stamps. Make your post card list.

Do you have driving directions and maps all set?

:grouphug: Hang in there!

You'll have a blast once you get there!

You will be fine.......I had a issue before like that and as soon as I got on the ground in MCO I was just a basket case of excitement. And the first walk down Main Street will most definatly chase the blues away.:D

My trip was about 60 days out and I went from being totally obsessed to not caring about it at all!! I also started planning more than a year out. I'm happy to say,I'm feeling very differently now!!! I'm back to being TOTALLY psyched!!!!!

That sort of happened to me before we went on our last trip. I was so excited when I found out we were going, but then a couple days before we were about to leave I wasn't as excited. But once we got there I had such a good time and didn't want to leave!! Now I'm looking forward to my next trip next March. :hyper:

Happened to me also. Too much information overload is what I attributed it to.

Once you set foot in Disney, it will all wash away and you will have the time of your life.

Have a great trip!

I hope you have a wonderful trip! :sunny:

I've been planning for a major WDW vacation to take place this fall off and on since 1999. Most intensive planning during 2000 and the past year.

Honestly, I'm not looking forward to it at this time.

Too much planning? Perhaps. I think for me, though, my lack of enthusiasm stems from other concerns.

As you can see this happens to a lot of people...Mine usually happens about 30 days out and then 2 weeks before hand Im counting down the hours...itll come back very soon...trust us!

I'm in the same boat as powellrj. All that's left is to make the PS's for dinner. Normally that's the easy part for me but for some reason i'm agonizing over every decision I make with regards to where to eat and when. I swear I've redone the list 20x's and still manage to leave something out or try to fit too much food into one day. For example, DH wants a sitdown dinner every evening, but he also wants to do High Tea and it's the F&WF to boot. Just imagine trying to fit that much food into one day without the two of us exploding on the way back to the hotel. He also wants to do lunch in Germany, sandwiches at th Earl of Sandwich, sundaes at Ghiredellis (sp), breakfast at Spoodles, the Concourse Steak House and Kona Cafe. I'm out of breath and waddling just typing about it, I'm really ready to give up on this part of the trip.

Your post really got me laughing!!! Sounds like your DH plans on eating his way thru WDW!!!

That happened to be with my first wedding. I went crazy when there was nothing more to do. The big day came and went!!! I learned a lesson though. Just because you spend a lot of $$$$ on a wedding does not make for a good marriage. This time I am just going to enjoy my baby and our new start together.

I agree with RobinMarie:
Switch your focus from planning to anticipating.

This is where I start my packing list, and actually start
gathering stuff to pack...it'll go by quicker than you think!
:teleport:

That is SO NORMAL! Actually someone posted the exact same concern right before I went on my last trip. What I learnt is that while it is so great to plan; I think it's part of the fun, it's also fun to let somethings surprise you and it's also great to be spontaneous. Plan the important things, such as parades or places you want to eat, but let the rest to the imagination. I realized I looked at too many pictures of places I hadn't been in WDW before going and then when I got there everything was so different from the way I imagined it.
Trust me, once you get there you'll be thrilled! I went through the exact same thing.

The last trip we took...just this past May..I did no planning at all ahead of time except for hotel and park passes. It was a nice relaxed trip, but I have to say when we got there I felt like I was "home".
