We decided to cancel our Disney cruise since it's just too much $$ right now.

So, I asked them if they wanted to go more days to Universal or go to Disney.

They decided Universal.
I'm all choked up! :rockband:

I know what you mean...I had a whole 7 day disney vaca planned for the 4th of July complete with ADR's. and my kids kept complaining that Disney was no fun...they wanted Universal, and FOTL and onsite hotels, ect.
Ok, great! cancelled everything and booked Universal, 1 month before leaving. Kids can be great!! sometimes :rolleyes1

And here yesterday, I almost called Child Services to take them far, far, away!

I'm enjoying your trip report and look forward to more. Thanks!

I know Whatcha Mean. DS and DD have always LOVED Disney. Last week we were talking about our annual Feb. Trip and while trying to decide which onsite hotel we will stay at ,DD (only 8) , said " I don't know about you but I would rather go to Universal.:goodvibes

I love It!!!

Awww, thanks!
And contrary to my mother beliefs!

The "diet" now consists of Simpsons and Nick Shows.
DH can't wait til they're old enuf for Terminator!

ugh...i got a jaws freak. And terminator 1 and 2
But, between the guts, blood and violence, I do throw in a bit of Jimmy Neutron and fairly oddparents. just to balence things out.:rolleyes1

my 9 year old son (autistic) is STILL fasinated with Barney! He loves Universal too. He calls it versal or "not disney "

My children have been on a steady diet of Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, and Scooby Doo. We occassionally throw in a little Jurassic Park, ET, and Shrek. They've asked for Jaws and the Mummy, but I don't know about that yet. My youngest is hoping she is tall enough for The Mummy this year and wants to watch it to get prepared. She's turning 8, I hope she can get on, but she's a shorty so I don't know. :confused3

I told my kids that we're planning on going back to Orlando in Nov. 2010 and they've already said "Just Universal, right, oh and maybe Sea World?"

They now want to ride each thrill ride at least 5 times each and since HP will be open they want a whole day there! We have a couple of thrill seekers :thumbsup2

October will be our 1st Universal trip.

I was afraid we'd miss the Mouse, but after reading this & adding a BBB trip at Downtown Disney, I think we'll be  Happy!

I am the only one in the family who will be missing Disney this year...see, I love them both--and we usually do both. Disney first, of course, cause FOTL is just major spoilage!

DH and DS (will be 11 in August) are thrilled that we are skipping Disney. Well, DH will miss his Kona prime rib, but that's about it. DH is ready to relax at HRH. DS loves the thrills--Hulk, DD, Mummy, Ripshaw Falls (I was sooo happy to see the lap bars put in!), JPRA. Major Simpsons fans too...DS lovesssssssssss to quote Ralph. They are cheering for a Family Guy ride next. Lord help us...

and I thought we were the only ones with 1st graders watching Jaws, Jurassic Park and Titanic too! ;) Dh loves Jimmy Neutron movies more than the kids. :thumbsup2

To me the mouse has gotten to the point that its to expensive for the average family of 4..

You get more bang for the buck @ universal(not to mention FOTL wnen on-site)

My opinion of coarse!!!!

Mine too! :thumbsup2

Not to mention its crazy busy and you wait in line for everything and have to plan meals 18 months in advance. :headache:

My husband and 8 year old son would choose Universal over Disney almost any day of the week. Mom on the other hand has to visit the mouse ever now and then! Although I do love staying onsite and having that FOTL perk!!!!
